The sun hung low in the sky, casting long, golden shadows across the bustling city streets. Fu Hua, her demeanor as calm and composed as ever, led Kiana and Senti—the Herrscher of Sentience—through a quiet park. The trio garnered a few curious glances from passersby, though the onlookers quickly dismissed them as an odd group of friends.
"Alright, you two," Fu Hua began, turning to face them. Her tone was light but firm, the kind of voice that brooked no argument. "I've arranged for us to spend the day together. It'll give you time to bond and perhaps understand each other better."
"Bond?" Senti scoffed, crossing her arms with a dramatic huff. "Please, old hag. You dragged me here to punish me, didn't you? This is because I didn't listen to your boring lectures, right?"
Fu Hua's serene smile didn't falter. "This is not a punishment. It's an opportunity."
Kiana grinned widely. "I think it's a great idea! Come on, Senti, it'll be fun. Don't tell me you're scared to spend time with me."
Senti turned, her eyes narrowing as she jabbed a finger at Kiana. "Scared? Hah! Don't flatter yourself, dumb Kiana. I just don't see the point of this waste of time."
Fu Hua gave them a meaningful glance, clearly signaling that they were to behave. "The point is to learn from one another. Now, I'll leave you to it. Try to stay out of trouble."
Before either could protest, Fu Hua left. Senti groaned loudly, her hands shooting to her head. "Ugh, great. Stuck with the idiot for the whole day."
Kiana's grin widened as she leaned closer to Senti. "Aw, I didn't know you cared so much about me. But if you're still salty about losing to me, just say it."
Senti bristled with narrowed eyes. "Salty? Me? You wish, you overgrown Valkyrie! That so-called 'loss' was a fluke!"
"Oh, a fluke, huh?" Kiana teased, putting her hands on her hips. "I don't know, you looked pretty serious back then. Face it, I won fair and square."
Senti growled under her breath, looking away. "Whatever. Don't expect me to hold your hand or anything today."
Kiana laughed. "Deal. But hey, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself? You know, since we're bonding and all."
Senti rolled her eyes so hard it was a wonder they didn't fall out. "Nice try, Kiana, but I don't feel like sharing my life story with you."
"Come on," Kiana pressed, walking backwards in front of Senti. "I'm curious. What's it like being the Herrscher of Sentience? Do you just sit around making snarky comments all day?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," Senti snapped, swatting at Kiana like she was an annoying fly. "Keep your nose out of my business."
They continued to bicker as they wandered deeper into the park. Eventually, they found themselves near a tranquil pond. The peaceful scenery seemed to temporarily calm their banter.
Kiana sat on the edge of a wooden bridge, kicking her feet over the water. "Alright, alright, I'll stop prying. But you know, I think you're kinda cool."
Senti blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "Cool? Me?"
"Yeah," Kiana said with a smile. "You're tough, and you don't back down. Plus, you've got a unique… charm. Like an angry cat."
Senti sputtered. "An angry cat?! Take that back!"
Before Kiana could respond, a sudden explosion shook the air, sending ripples across the pond. Both girls jumped to their feet, their bickering forgotten as they scanned the area. A group of Honkai beasts emerged from the treeline, their monstrous forms illuminated by the setting sun.
"Looks like our bonding session just got interesting," Kiana said, cracking her knuckles.
Senti smirked, summoning her twin blades with a flourish. "Finally, something fun. Let's see if you can keep up, dumb Kiana."
The two charged into battle. Kiana's fists glowed with powerful energy as she struck down the first beast with a devastating blow. Senti darted through the fray like a whirlwind, her blades slicing through enemies with ruthless precision.
"Not bad for an angry cat," Kiana called out, dodging a clawed swipe from a larger beast.
"Not bad for a glorified punching bag," Senti shot back, her lips curling into a grin.
Despite their banter, their teamwork was seamless. Kiana's raw power and Senti's agility complemented each other perfectly, and the Honkai beasts were no match for their combined might. Within minutes, the battle was over, and the park was quiet once more.
Kiana dusted herself off, glancing at Senti with a smirk. "See? We make a pretty good team."
Senti sheathed her blades, her expression thoughtful for a moment before she shrugged. "Don't get used to it. This doesn't mean I like you or anything."
Kiana laughed, throwing an arm around Senti's shoulders. "Sure, sure. Whatever you say, Senti."
As they walked back toward the park entrance, Fu Hua reappeared, her expression unreadable. "I see you two handled the situation well. Did you learn anything from each other?"
Kiana grinned. "Oh, definitely. Senti learned she can't resist my charm."
Senti groaned, pushing Kiana's arm off her. "And I learned that I deserve better company."
Fu Hua smiled softly. "That's progress, at least."
"So, Senti," Kiana began, her tone dripping with mock curiosity. "You're really sticking close to Fu Hua. Are you worried I might steal her attention or something?"
Senti froze mid-step. "What did you just say?"
"You heard me," Kiana said with a grin, walking backwards to face Senti. "You're acting like a jealous kid who doesn't want to share her favorite toy."
Senti's fingers twitched, her twin blades briefly flickering into existence before vanishing. Her face was a mix of annoyance and embarrassment. "Jealous?! Of you? Don't flatter yourself, dumb Kiana!"
Kiana's grin widened, sensing a chance to push Senti further. "Oh, come on. It's obvious. You want Fu Hua all to yourself, don't you?"
That did it. Senti's face turned crimson as she clenched her fists. "You're dead meat!" She lunged at Kiana.
Before she could get far, Fu Hua appeared in an instant, gently but firmly grabbing Senti's wrist to stop her. "That's enough," Fu Hua said calmly, her tone carrying the weight of authority.
Senti struggled against her hold, her blush deepening as Fu Hua's hand slid down to clasp hers. The contact made her freeze, the fight draining out of her like air from a balloon. "W-What are you doing?!" she stammered, her voice unusually high-pitched.
Fu Hua tilted her head slightly, her expression still serene. "Holding you back before you do something rash. You shouldn't let Kiana get under your skin so easily."
Senti's face went from red to almost glowing. She looked away, trying to muster her usual bravado. "Tch! Let go already! You're being all… touchy-touchy for no reason!"
Kiana burst into laughter, clutching her sides. "Oh my god, Senti, are you blushing? You totally are! I didn't know you had a soft spot for Fu Hua!"
"Shut up!" Senti snapped, her voice loud enough to startle a few birds out of the nearby trees. She shot a glare at Kiana but couldn't quite shake off the embarrassment. "I am not blushing!"
Fu Hua gently released Senti's hand, her lips quirking into a faint smile. "Calm down, Senti. Kiana's only teasing you because you're letting her."
"She's doing it because she's annoying!" Senti huffed, crossing her arms and turning away. "And I'm not blushing!"
Kiana walked up beside her, throwing an arm around her shoulder. "Aw, don't be shy, Senti. If you want Fu Hua to yourself, you just have to say so. I won't get in your way."
Senti shoved Kiana off with a growl, her face still bright red. "I swear, if you don't shut up—"
Fu Hua stepped between them, placing a hand on each of their shoulders. "That's enough from both of you. Let's keep moving before this turns into an actual fight."
Senti grumbled under her breath but followed obediently. "Stupid, Kianna..."
"I heard that!"
"Good!"
Fu Hua sighed.
