Ash and Pikachu wandered through a dimly lit marketplace that hovered high above the clouds. The city was vibrant yet alien, with floating buildings connected by winding bridges and platforms. The people bustled about, speaking a mix of languages that sounded like French and Japanese, which Ash couldn't understand. Pikachu clung to Ash's shoulder, ears twitching as it scanned their surroundings nervously.

"I don't know where we are, buddy," Ash admitted, glancing at Pikachu. "But we'll figure it out. We've done it before."

Suddenly, a group of uniformed soldiers marched down the street, rifles slung over their shoulders. The crowd parted, murmuring nervously. Ash instinctively ducked into an alley, pulling Pikachu close.

"We've got to keep a low profile," Ash whispered.

As they turned a corner, Ash bumped into someone—a young girl with short blonde hair, wearing a black outfit with golden patterns. Her red eyes locked onto Ash's face, then shifted to Pikachu. Her expression brightened with curiosity.

"Ce qui est mignon !" the girl exclaimed, crouching down to Pikachu's level. Her voice was filled with wonder. She tilted her head, a mix of fascination and confusion on her face.

Ash blinked, trying to make sense of her words. "Uh… hi? My name's Ash, and this is Pikachu."

The girl reached out to Pikachu, who sniffed her hand cautiously before offering a cheerful "Pika-pika!"

"Ton ami est si étrange," the girl said, smiling. She pointed to herself. "Kat."

"Kat? Is that your name?" Ash asked, though it was clear she didn't understand him.

Kat frowned and tapped her chin, then pointed at Ash. "Nom ?"

"Ash," he repeated, tapping his chest. "Ash. And this is Pikachu."

Kat nodded slowly, repeating, "Ash. Pikachu." She gave a small laugh, then gestured for Ash to follow her.

"Wait, where are you taking us?" Ash asked, but Kat didn't respond. Instead, she grabbed his hand and tugged him forward with surprising strength.

Ash stumbled but kept pace as Kat led him through winding streets. Pikachu clung tightly to his shoulder, looking back nervously. As they moved, they heard shouting in the distance. The soldiers were searching for someone—probably them.

"Kat, we need to—" Ash began, but Kat suddenly jumped into the air. Ash's jaw dropped as her body defied gravity, floating gracefully upward. She hovered for a moment, then waved for him to follow.

"You've got to be kidding me," Ash muttered. But before he could protest further, Kat used her powers to lift Ash and Pikachu into the air.

"Whoa! What's going on?" Ash shouted, flailing his arms as they floated above the city. Pikachu yelped in alarm, its cheeks sparking.

"Pas de panique !" Kat called out, laughing as she steadied Ash with her powers.

They soared through the air, dodging military patrols and landing on a secluded platform. Kat gestured toward a tall man with spiky black hair and a calm demeanor who stood waiting for them.

"Syd !" Kat called, waving enthusiastically.

The man turned, raising an eyebrow at Ash and Pikachu. "Kat, qui sont-ils ?"

Kat launched into a rapid explanation, gesturing excitedly toward Pikachu and mimicking Ash's confusion. Syd listened, then turned to Ash with a thoughtful expression.

"You don't understand her, do you?" Syd asked in surprisingly clear English.

Ash's eyes lit up with relief. "You speak my language! Finally! Yeah, I'm completely lost here."

Syd chuckled. "That explains the commotion. You're not from around here, are you?"

"Not even close," Ash admitted. "I just want to find out how to get back home."

Syd nodded. "Kat thought I might be able to help. I'm used to her… unusual ways of communicating."

Kat crossed her arms and pouted playfully, prompting a laugh from Syd.

"First, we need to move," Syd said. "The military isn't fond of outsiders causing a scene, and they've probably already flagged you."

As if on cue, a drone buzzed overhead, its lights scanning the platform. Kat reacted instantly, using her gravity powers to hurl a chunk of debris at the drone, smashing it.

"Whoa, that was awesome!" Ash said, watching in amazement.

"Stay close," Syd instructed. "Kat, cover us!"

Kat nodded, her expression turning serious. With a flick of her wrist, she propelled them into the air again, this time maneuvering them through narrow alleys and across rooftops. Below, soldiers shouted orders as they tried to track their movements.

Ash clung to Pikachu, who was equally awestruck and terrified. "This girl's incredible," he muttered.

When they finally landed in a hidden alley, Syd turned to Ash. "We'll figure out where you came from and how to get you back. But for now, stick with us and keep a low profile."

"Got it," Ash said. He looked at Kat, who grinned and gave a thumbs-up.

"Thanks, Kat. You're amazing," Ash said, giving her a genuine smile.

Kat didn't understand his words but seemed to catch the sentiment. She gave a cheerful laugh, then patted Pikachu on the head.

At Syd and Kat's cozy hideout, which doubled as a safe spot and hangout in the bustling Jirga Para Lhao, Ash sat on a worn-out couch while Pikachu perched on the armrest. The place was filled with odds and ends—an old telescope, crates of supplies, and a collection of tools scattered across a table. Kat leaned against a wall, her arms crossed, watching Ash curiously.

Syd rummaged through a cluttered cabinet, muttering to himself. "I know I put it somewhere… Ah, here it is!" He pulled out a small, sleek earpiece and examined it with satisfaction.

"What's that?" Ash asked, sitting up.

"It's a translator," Syd explained, walking over. "This should help bridge the gap between you and Kat. It's old tech, but it might still work."

Ash's face lit up. "Really? That's awesome!"

Syd handed the device to Ash, who carefully fitted it into his ear. He tapped a button on the side, and it emitted a soft hum. "Okay," Syd said, crossing his arms. "Try talking to Kat now."

Ash turned to Kat, who tilted her head expectantly. "Um… hi, Kat. Can you understand me now?"

At first, Kat frowned in concentration. Then her eyes widened, and her face broke into a radiant smile. "Oui ! Je peux comprendre ! Wait, I mean, yes! I can understand you now!"

Ash's heart leapt with relief. "No way! It works!"

Kat laughed and clapped her hands. Overjoyed, she lunged forward and hugged Ash tightly, catching him off guard. Pikachu chirped in surprise, leaping off the couch as the two tumbled slightly.

"Merci, Syd!" Kat called over her shoulder, then turned to Ash. "This is amazing! I've wanted to ask you so much!"

Ash chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "Same here. Uh, what's the first thing you want to know?"

Kat released him and crouched down to Pikachu's level again, her eyes sparkling. "What is Pikachu? It's not a Nevi… right?"

"Nevi?" Ash repeated, blinking in confusion. "What's a Nevi?"

Syd stepped in, scratching his head. "That's… complicated," he admitted. "Nevi are… well, they're strange creatures. Dark, shadowy things that appear out of nowhere and cause destruction. Kat's fought them a lot."

"Yeah," Kat added. "They're nothing like Pikachu. Pikachu is so cute and friendly! Nevi are scary."

Ash frowned, processing the explanation. "So… they're not Pokémon?"

"Pokémon?" Kat tilted her head. "What's that?"

"Pokémon are… well, they're creatures from my world," Ash began, scratching his chin as he tried to explain. "Some are wild, and others are partners, like Pikachu. We train and battle together, but they're also my friends."

Kat's eyes widened in amazement. "That's incredible! Your world sounds so different from ours. I've never seen anything like Pikachu before."

"Yeah," Syd chimed in. "Pokémon sounds like something out of a dream. But Nevi? They're a nightmare."

Kat nodded solemnly. "They're dangerous. They come in all shapes and sizes, and they hurt people if we don't stop them."

Ash glanced at Pikachu, who met his gaze with determination. "Well, Pikachu and I are used to dealing with dangerous things. If those Nevi show up, we'll help you fight them."

Kat's face lit up again. "You'd really help us?"

"Of course," Ash said confidently. "That's what friends do!"

Kat smiled warmly. "Thank you, Ash. I think you and Pikachu are going to be amazing allies."

Syd crossed his arms and grinned. "Looks like you two are already a team. Let's hope the translator holds up, because things might get chaotic if the military or Nevi come knocking again."

Ash nodded. "Leave it to us."

Meanwhile...

In the heart of Jirga Para Lhao, where the sprawling city's floating islands cast long shadows over bustling streets and markets, military forces marched through the narrow alleys. The sound of boots hitting the ground echoed off stone walls, and civilians scattered at the sight of the imposing soldiers in their sleek, high-tech uniforms.

Their commander, a stern man with sharp features and a heavy scar across his face, surveyed the area with a scowl. His voice boomed over a communications device.

"Report. Have you located the intruder and the strange creature yet?"

A subordinate's voice crackled in response. "Negative, Commander. No sign of them in this sector. They must have gone underground."

The commander clenched his fists, his patience wearing thin. "This outsider cannot be allowed to disrupt the city. If he allies with the Gravity Shifter, our control here will be at risk."

As the soldiers regrouped in a dimly lit plaza, the commander turned to his trump card—a figure standing silently in the shadows. She was a pale skinned young woman with a moon/sun-shaped marking/tattoo on her chest, and long black hair with a bang that covers the right side of her face that fades to purple and reaches past her waist. Her main outfit consists of a revealing black suit with long, detached sleeves with brown bracelets at the ends with black borders, a matching belt with a black jewel, matching accessories under her knees, with the rest revealing her chest, midriff, and hips, showing her panties. An iron mask obscured her face.

"Night Gale," the commander said.

The masked figure stepped forward silently. Her movements were fluid, almost ghostly, as if she were weightless. Though the mask hid her expression, her demeanor radiated an unsettling calm, like a storm waiting to break.

"Your orders, Commander?" she asked in a cold tone.

"We have an intruder—an outsider with a strange creature. He's working with the Gravity Shifter," the commander explained, his voice hardening. "Your task is simple: track them down. Capture them if possible. Eliminate them if necessary."

Night Gale inclined her head slightly. "Understood."

The commander studied her for a moment. "Failure is not an option. Do not forget who gave you this second chance, Night Gale. You serve us now, not yourself."

For a brief moment, a flicker of something—pain, perhaps—crossed her glowing eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it came. She straightened, her tone unwavering.

"I will not fail."
