Underground Omniverse
Gammatron: Hey guys. I own no one in this story nor the series of Sonic Underground, Ben 10 Series, or the BlazBlue series. I do own Roll Cyber Sakurai though. Jake, J, Jacky, and Haseo are owned by Seanzilla115 while Alpha the Hedgehog is owned by Kamen Keyblade Duelist.
Rebel 14: Adapting
"Makoto-chan, are you okay in there?" Roll asked as she gently rapped on the bathroom door, hearing the shower running.
"I'm freaking out here! Please go away!" Makoto replied behind the bathroom door, the Squirrel Beastkin sitting in fetal position in the shower.
Ben yawned as he finally woke up. If there was one thing Ben was always known for, it was his ability to sleep through anything. He slid out of the top bunk of the 'triple bed' wall and landed on his feet, revealing he was only in a green shirt with black boxers. He rubbed an eye as he walked over to the concerned Roll and Sonia.
"What's going on?" Ben asked.
"Makoto's freaking out over something we saw this morning," Sonia replied as she handed him the bounty papers.
"…Huh. I went up 1000 Rings and Makoto went up 900," Ben noted before seeing Ragna's picture of him about to release Dead Spike, "Wow. That's one impressive b…Ragna?!"
"You know the guy?" Sonia asked.
"You're not going to hide in the shower, are you?" Roll asked.
"I'm more concerned about why a guy I saw as an older brother is here," Ben replied before hearing the shower stop and Makoto swinging the bathroom door open.
"What did you just say!?" Makoto exclaimed, her face barely a half-inch from his.
"Well, when I was turning 11, my Grandpa Max told me that he was going to be housing two of his friends on our road trip for that summer," Ben explained, "To say the least; I did not like that at all."
"Ano…Makoto-chan?"
"Quiet, Roll-chan, this is important knowledge on Ragna the BloodEdge," Makoto waved her off, her eyes still trained on his, "Now who were they?"
"Well, it was a few days after and they came out of a portal with a third member. Let me tell you, you do not call blond-haired girls in Gothic Lolita clothing 'Rabbit' unless you're Ragna…actually, even if you're Ragna. Then you just get zapped by pink lightning that's meant for comedy and doesn't actually hurt."
"Uh-huh…" Makoto spoke calmly, "And the other two?"
"Well, the first was Ragna, except without that cool jacket and sword," Ben noted, "The other…was a cat."
"A cat?"
"I'm serious. It was a cat, standing on two legs, wore an orange jacket with the hood on, and an eyepatch. Gwen nearly hugged the guy if he didn't tell Ragna to not be rude to a friend of his," Ben chuckled, "Then, once I learned the hard way not to call Rachel a 'rabbit' from Ragna, she left and the cat introduced himself as…"
"Jubei, one of the Legendary Six Heroes."
"Uh, no. He introduced himself as 'Mitsuyoshi' and that he was Ragna's teacher," Ben replied, "And let me tell you, I had a spar with the guy and he beat me in five seconds flat."
"Mitsuyoshi…That was Jubei's original name from the books we have on the Six Heroes," Makoto noted.
"Makoto…" Sonia began.
"Not now," Makoto waved her off, "So what happened after that?"
"Makoto, you're naked!" both girls shouted.
"What?" Makoto pondered as she looked at the girls.
Ben blinked before looking down a bit. Makoto was completely soaked…and nude. Her large bust bounced a little when the Squirrel Beastkin had turned to Sonia and Roll, making some droplets bounce off her. One slid down and dripped off her left erect nipple, the cold water from the long bath she had been in being the cause for it, and landed near her feet. Makoto turned back to Ben to watch him collapse, his entire face a vivid shade of red with swirls in his eyes.
'She…She shaves down there…' was the last thought Ben had while the last sound he heard was Makoto screaming in shock as she covered her chest with her arms and her womanhood with her soaked tail as she zipped back into the bathroom.
"What's that?" Ragna pondered as he and a cat that stood on its hind legs in an orange and black set of robes, two swords, two tails, and an eyepatch looked out from the mountain's forest to a large city.
"The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy," the cat replied.
"So that's…" Ragna spoke.
He exhaled as he spoke those words, his breath turning to frost in the cold air. As the hour became late, the two of them arrived at the entrance to the forest. The cat's left ear twitched as he turned to the left.
"Huh? Who's there?"
"Master Jubei?" Ragna pondered as he looked at the cat.
He looked out at some rustling grass before two shadows rose from it. The shadows were actually a pair of Kaka villagers. One wore a black and gold version of Nun-Kaka's clothing with the nun's hat replaced with the hood of her outfit. On her lapel was a blue 'paw' with the name 'Torakaka' written on it while bright orange/gold mess bangs stuck out of the sides of the back of her hood. Her skin was a rich bronze with a tiger tail gently swaying behind it. The other was a Kaka Kitten with a red ribbon and a collar reading 'Taokaka.'
"Long time no see, Cat Person. I brought what you asked for."
"Well, if it ain't Torakaka! Long time no see to you too, partner. How's the village these days?" Jubei asked with a happy smile.
"They're all well. Maybe too well," Torakaka replied before her smile faltered a little, "Well, I'd like to say that, but we're going through a lot right now. Just recently, we lost a mother and our best healer, Nun-Kaka."
"Your sister?" Jubei gasped, "I'm so sorry for that."
"It's fine," Torakaka replied, "Then there is also the Ikaruga Civil War meow. Some of the Kaka Clan's soldiers have gone off to the Federation…"
"Ikaruga?! Hell, that mess shoulda ended after Ibukido was destroyed! Damn Library…Ain't they had their fill of sufferin' and tragedy yet?" Jubei hissed as his body trembled in anger.
"Apparently not. I guess there were a few minor problems that came up. I was actually planning to head out that way sometime soon."
"So you're goin' too, are ya. Guess you're getting to be that age…" Jubei sighed, "Look, Torakaka. I know yer a great warrior and all, but you be careful, ya hear?"
"I appreciate your concern. Anyway, it seems that the current problems stem from the Boundary as well as from the cauldron."
"I figured as much. If yer leavin' the village, who's gonna take care of it?"
"Oddly enough, that isn't going to be a problem. Over there, that's the village's new protector. My niece, Taokaka," Torakaka replied as she pointed at the confused Ragna.
He looked to his left to see the Kaka Kitten hiding behind a tree with a playful smile.
"Meow meow. I'm scared meow."
"Really?" Torakaka asked, "Of what?"
"I'm scared of the white blockheaded-looking person," Taokaka replied, causing Ragna to facefault.
"Hey! Who the hell are you calling a blockhead?!" the pre-teen demanded as he ran after the kitten, "Hey, you runt! Get back here!"
"…Sadly, she is the runt of the village," Torakaka sweatdropped.
"Waah! He's going to capture me and eat me!"
"The hell I'm gonna!"
"That kid, huh? What's her name?" Jubei asked as the two watched Taokaka run up a tree and Ragna hit it face-first.
"Her name is Taokaka. She's my niece and I am her guardian now that Nun-Kaka has passed on."
"Taokaka, huh. Good name."
"Cat Person, who's that man playing with Tao?" Torakaka asked her question as she studied Ragna, who was attempting to climb the tree when Taokaka jumped down and landed on his head, causing him to fall to the ground.
"He's my apprentice. Name's Ragna. Figure you could call him either the Destroyer of the World or the Protector of the Azure."
"The protector of Azure…" Torakaka gasped as her tail went straight up.
"Still don't know which one he's gonna turn out to be," Jubei replied as he closed his eyes, "Figure that's up to him."
"Ah, I see. He's…" Torakaka trailed off as she watched Taokaka being tickled by Ragna, a gentle smile on his face, "…He's a Good Guy then."
Ragna slowly opened his eyes to grab Jake's poking finger, "What is it?" 'Oh, I remember now. Taokaka, you were that kid from that one day…The one who called me 'Big Brother Good Guy' as you and Torakaka were leaving.'
"We're getting close to Sanctuary," Jake replied, "Do you think they'll have buttered biscuits and gravy?"
"The hell should I know? I'm new here, remember?"
"…Oh yeah," Jake realized before grinning, "Do you think they'll have buttered biscuits and gravy?"
"Someone kill me now," Ragna groaned before freezing, "Wait. Scratch that last plea. Last time I had a near-death, I ended up having a nightmare involving two ghost boats, ghosts, and ghost me being traded for a ghost fish."
"Jake, stop speaking to Ragna for the moment," J sighed.
"…I'll do it if you give me your hat."
"Not again," J groaned.
"Can we just get on with this? Just where the hell are we taking snoozer here?" Ragna demanded as he pointed at the still-unconscious Alpha.
"Sanctuary," Jacky replied, at the wheel of the 'borrowed' vehicle they were in.
"Sanctuary?" Ragna repeated.
"It's, well, amazing," Haseo replied, "I've only been there once, but I can't forget it. Nun-Kaka was such a nice lady, too."
"Nun-Kaka? A Kaka Clan member lives there? Please tell me she doesn't give strange nicknames to others," Ragna groaned.
"…She calls me 'Shy Guy,'" Haseo admitted after a few moments of silence from him.
"Yeah, that's a problem with the Kaka Clan; never good with names, so they give the weirdest nicknames," Ragna replied, "And because I gave one some food when I met her, they started calling me 'Good Guy' and 'Rawrgna.'"
"…" Jacky held back a laugh.
"You laugh and I'm tossing your ass out," Ragna threatened.
"Fine, fine," Jacky sighed as they entered a clearing, "Here we are."
Ragna looked out at the clearing. He had to admit that the place had a calming sensation to it. Slowly, the pickup stopped near the steps of Sanctuary and everyone got out except for the unconscious Alpha. Ragna blinked as he turned to see a little human girl peeking out from a nearby bush.
"We have company!" the little girl shouted, "More Freedom Fighters!"
"What the hey?!" Ragna yelped as they were instantly swarmed by Mobians, Humans, and Mobian-Human hybrid children with Ragna ending up being tackled by the feline ones.
"Hi there, mister!" a Mobian kitty greeted as she hugged his left leg.
"Can you play with us? Please?" a human boy with a cat-themed shirt asked.
"Play with us, please!" a pink Mobian kitten pleaded as she had Ragna's other leg.
"Whoa! Hold on kiddies! We'll play later, OK?" Ragna chuckled, "Right now, we've got an injured guy."
"Someone's injured?" Ragna turned his head to see Nun-Kaka approach with Friar Tuck, the Kaka Clan member stopping as she sniffed the air and then Ragna, "You smell like a Kaka. But you don't have a tail or fuzzy ears."
"Oh, I'm a friend of theirs. Name's Ragna," Ragna introduced himself, "You mind telling me what this is about?"
"They're orphans, poor children," Friar Tuck replied, "Robotnik has ruined so many lives during his reign on the land."
"I see…" Ragna narrowed his eyes, 'It's like the NOL…'
"Oh dear me, what happened to him?" Nun-Kaka asked as Jake and Jacky were carrying Alpha off the pickup.
"He was being put through Roboticization," Jacky replied.
"But Ragna saved him with his super cool flaming sword and punches!" Jake grinned happily as Ragna rolled his eyes.
"Flaming sword?" Friar Tuck repeated as Nun-Kaka gasped.
"Oh! We have someone else like this here!" Nun-Kaka beamed.
"Huh?" J and Ragna blinked.
"Put him beside her," Nun-Kaka noted, carrying Aka-Kaka in one arm as she pointed over at an empty bed.
"Okay, okay," Ragna chuckled as he and Jake brought in Alpha and put him in the empty bed, "So who's this ot…"
Ragna narrowed his eyes at the only other one in the room. She was a human, possibly in her early twenties. Her long, flowing blond hair was let free with her lightning cobalt beret placed on a chair nearby with some torn lightning cobalt, black, and white clothing resembling a one-piece uniform. The one-piece was separated at the front due to the sides being unzipped. Over the chair were white gloves and lightning cobalt high-heeled combat boots.
"Ara? You recognized her?" Nun-Kaka asked.
"Yeah. Her name's Noel Vermillion," Ragna replied with an eye twitch, 'Shit. It's the damn bitch who keeps chasing and shooting at me! At least it isn't Bullet. Good god she was crazy!'
The pink Mobian cat from earlier mumbled in her sleep as Ragna tucked her into her bed. He glanced around, seeing the beds there filled with various children, all of them orphaned. He felt their pain of having no parents except for the nun that lived there. He just hoped his fate never befell them. A soft noise caught his attention and he looked up to see Nun-Kaka. He blinked at the Kaka Clan member in curiosity.
"So, what do you wanna talk about?" Ragna asked as he leaned against one of the columns in the front of the church.
"Well, has much changed about the village?" Nun-Kaka asked.
"Well, there's the food back in your village. At first it looked disgusting but it was pretty delicious," Ragna noted, earning a soft giggle from Nun-Kaka.
"Well, it's not only good, but it's good for you as well nya," the nun of Sanctuary replied.
"And you won't believe the kittens there. They get attracted so easily to the smell of food but one they see me, they just want to play, jump, and climb all over me," Ragna noted, causing Nun-Kaka to giggle once more, "Man, I always get this weird feeling of déjà vu when I see them involving the first time I met Taokaka."
"When did you first meet my daughter?" Nun-Kaka asked, causing Ragna to nearly fall over in shock.
"You're her mother?! But…But how?! You look to be her age!"
"Oh my, how naughty. My daughter's friend is trying to flirt with meow," Nun-Kaka teased as Ragna began to blush hard at that while she walked up to him, "I'm just teasing meow. Now, when did you meet my little kitten Tao?"
"Well, it was when I was with Master Jubei. She was with Torakaka, her Guardian. Long story, she called me a blockhead, I gave chase, hit a tree she climbed up into, she jumped on my face when I was climbing up, and then I managed to tickle her silly," Ragna replied, "Though, when she and Torakaka were leaving, she waved bye to me and called me her 'Big Brother Good Guy.'"
"Taokaka saw something in you, then," Nun-Kaka replied as she laid her head on his shoulder, "If she sees you as her brother, then it seems I have a handsome son then."
Ragna's blush was more evident as he looked away and scratched his cheek, "Uh, well…I'm sorry, it's just a bit strange. I mean, the last time I had a mother figure, she was a nun as well." He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the moon, "My own brother killed her."
"Oh my!" Nun-Kaka gasped.
"He killed her, stole our little sister Saya, and burned the church we lived in to the ground," Ragna trembled as he held his right arm, "He even chopped off my right arm."
"But it…The Azure Grimoire?" Nun-Kaka gasped.
"Yeah. Been 13 years since it happened, but the memory is still fresh in my mind," Ragna replied.
"…Do you believe the power of the Azure Grimoire is your own power?"
"Never," Ragna replied, "It's its own power, not mine. Master Jubei told me that a million times already."
Nun-Kaka giggled once more.
"…But seriously, you're Taokaka's mother? You look more like sisters than mother and daughter."
Nun-Kaka started laughing at that, causing Ragna to start chuckling. As they started to stop their laughter, J ran in screaming.
"Emergency! Alert! We have a serious situation of dire proportions upon us!" J called as he ran in…and into Ragna's left fist, "Ah!"
"The hell are you doing? Kids are sleeping," Ragna frowned as he thumbed at the doors nearby to the bedrooms.
"Haseo was doing a perimeter search as proper protocol dictates and he discovered a Mobian on a horse, heading this way with SWATBots!"
"Frodo…" Nun-Kaka hissed.
"I take it you know the guy leading them?" Ragna asked.
"He tried to kill little Aka-Kaka before I adopted him," Nun-Kaka replied.
"Wait, that little kid you were holding earlier wasn't a Kaka Kitten?" Ragna asked in surprise.
"This has gone on long enough. Lady above, please give me the strength to survive this battle," Nun-Kaka prayed.
"What?" J pondered before yelping as three massive claw-shaped blades erupted from each of her 'paws.'
"I may be a Nun, but I was the strongest fighter in the village after my sister Torakaka," Nun-Kaka narrowed her eyes, "I will not let Frodo attempt to harm the children here nor those that are recovering."
"…" Ragna stood up, "Then I hope you don't mind if I join in on the beat down."
"Here's your cash," Sleet, sitting on Dingo-Camel, informed as he tossed Frodo a large sack of platinum Rings.
"And I thank you for it," Frodo nodded before he whipped the reigns of his steed and rode off.
"Heh. Throw a bit of cash his way and he'll talk easily," Sleet smirked.
"It helped that we gave him skivvy on lying to him about there being someone who was dangerous to his order," Dingo added, the blue fur on him now a gentle shade of aquamarine.
"That as well," Sleet chuckled.
"Hell's Fang!"
"What's huh?" Sleet pondered before a large explosion appeared before the forest.
Cue: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Opening Theme
Slowly, the smoke began to settle. Standing in the center of a crater was Ragna the BloodEdge, his last-namesake pulled out in its reverse grip and the Azure Grimoire fist glowing with Soul Eater's power. Against his back was Nun-Kaka, her nun cap replaced with the hood of her clothes and her 'claws' extended.
"Shall we, Rawgna?" Nun-Kaka asked.
"One who gets the least robots makes breakfast tomorrow?"
"Purrfect idea," Nun-Kaka purred.
"Go!" both shouted.
"Dead Spike!" Ragna roared as he summoned the 'head' once more to block laser shots.
"Excuse meow," Nun-Kaka noted as she jumped over the Dead Spike, "Neko Tamashii Wan (Cat Spirit One)!"
She landed as her claws glowed a soft magenta. She swiped a few times and tore apart any SWATBots before her.
"Gauntlet Hades!" Ragna roared as he performed a drop kick to destroy more SWATBots, "That's fifty."
"Seventy here meow," Nun-Kaka replied before she ducked down and shot her 'nails' out of her 'paws,' "Slashy-Slashy!"
"…Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Sleet asked.
"Yep," Dingo replied, "The Sheila is a fighting nun."
"…I mean our forces getting dismantled so easily, dummy," Sleet facepalmed, "They're not even breaking a sweat."
"Well, these are the last of the original models since the boss didn't want us to be bully with the new ones until Shockwave finished tuning them," Dingo replied.
"Lucky for us, this is just the first wave," Sleet sneered as the flying 'scorpion' vehicle of theirs landed, releasing more SWATBots.
"Heh. That's 123 for me," Ragna smirked.
"Aw~ Nun-Kaka only 122," Nun-Kaka pouted.
"…And you're sure you're not Taokaka's sister?" Ragna sweatdropped before his eyes widened, "Look out!"
Just as the SWATBot was about to fire, a sphere of ground slammed into its upper half, destroying that part of it, while a barrage of bullets tore apart the lower half. Ragna turned to see Alpha and Noel were wide awake. Noel was in her uniform once more with a pair of oversized guns in her lithe hands while Alpha…Ragna rubbed his eyes in disbelief. The lower half of his right arm was covered in a gold metal that went up to form a massive cannon of sorts that had to be put over his shoulder.
"You okay, Nun-Kaka?" Alpha called.
"Mewow! I didn't know you could do that, Alley-chan!"
"It's Alpha!" the green hedgehog barked, "And remind me to kick Jacky's ass later! The Roboticizer I got put into made my quills green! I hate green, dammit!"
"A-Are you okay, Ragna the BloodEdge?" Noel asked in concern.
"Yeah," Ragna replied before he looked at Alpha, "Well, aside from turning green, I'd say this is a pretty cool trade-off."
"Screw you!" Alpha barked as his new limb changed back.
Data lines glowed along his left arm before they turned into a massive broadsword with the bottom half of a chainsaw's engine, both in shades of gold. The tip of the blade split into two and began to spin around as a buzzsaw. With a roar, Alpha swung and tore apart some of the charging SWATBots.
"Uh…Sire?" Sleet held up a video radio.
=What is it?= Robotnik demanded before Sleet showed what was happening =Wh-What?!=
"Slashy-Slashy!" Nun-Kaka mewled as she fired her claws from her 'paws.'
"Gauntlet Hades!" Ragna roared as Noel's guns glowed and fused into a single massive machine gun.
"Zero-Gun: Fenrir!" Noel cried out as she unleashed a spray of massive energy bullets, shredding through the SWATBots.
=Damn! It seems that Shockwave's experiment worked but didn't strip free will= Robotnik growled =Return to base at once after you obtain their pictures=
"At once, sire," Sleet gulped before he turned Dingo into an instant-developing camera.
He was able to get pictures of Ragna using his Death-Scythe in its larger form, Noel firing her guns, and Alpha and Nun-Kaka using their blades to tear through SWATBots before he ran off into the ship and flew away.
"And stay outta here!" Alpha shouted with a shake of his left fist.
"So you're not staying?" Nun-Kaka asked sadly.
"Yeah," Alpha replied, "These new powers…they might attract Robotnik's forces here, so if I stay on the move, they won't hurt others."
"There's also the fact that they know which forest Sanctuary is in now," Jacky added as he looked at the children all helping to put boxes into one of dozens on carts.
"Don't worry about us," Friar Tuck informed, "This is not the only Sanctuary that we have."
"But still, it's our fault that…" J began.
"It isn't your faults. It was that fiend Frodo," Friar Tuck scowled, "May God cast divine judgment upon the fiend and cast him into the fiery depths of hell."
"R-Right," Ragna nodded.
"I'm ready!"
Ragna turned to the doors of Sanctuary. Noel donned a whole new outfit somewhat similar to her original outfit but doing away with the sleeves, replacing it with a collared cloth and no sleeves, leaving only a pair of white gloves. She now wore two large holsters on her back, which housed her guns Bolverk. She had also done away with her beret, letting her long hair flowing freely with the addition of a blue-colored hairpiece.
"…" Ragna blinked.
"U-Uh…u-u-um…" Noel gulped as she began to look at her fingers as she poked their tips, "I, well, I just thought that since I'm now considered a rebel…" she looked over at Jacky, growling as he was glaring at the new bounty pages with Noel on it, "…that I should wear something else."
"…Well, at least this outfit shows you're a girl," Ragna noted.
"Wh-What?!" Noel exclaimed with a harder blush and a glare, "Ragna the BloodEdge!"
"Oh shit," Ragna paled before he began to run around the new team of Freedom Fighters' truck as Noel gave chase, firing energy bullets from her guns.
"Get back here and face judgment for your obstruction of Justice!"
"How the hell is pissing you off an obstruction, dammit?!"
"…Are you sure you're not a Robian in disguise?" Jack asked as he poked Alpha's head.
"He has a pulse," J noted as he wore a stethoscope, the other end of it over Alpha's heart area.
"Can we stop this, please?" Alpha groaned as Jacky grumbled before honking at the two running around the truck.
"Get the lead out, you two!" Jacky snapped before he barely ducked under the shot sent at him, "Never mind."
"Traitor!" Ragna snapped as he pulled Jacky out to run with him.
"Oh come on!" Jacky screamed as he followed Ragna as Noel shot at them both.
"…I think I'm gonna enjoy being around those two," Alpha noted.
Me: Sorry, no Azmuth corner this chapter.
