Preface: Hello, everyone! This is it - my final major story and, really, my final story altogether, at least for the time being. If I ever do make another return, however, I don't see myself doing anything other than shorter standalone stories anymore. I'll admit this story's going to be a lot shorter than when I initially conceptualized it, but the basic framework is the same - three stories set at the same time that segue into a larger conflict. But first, let's see how everyone's been doing since the conclusion of Minecraft Maniacs: Light and Dark!

THE FINAL FUSION
Prologue:
How Is Everyone Doing?

RIIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIIING!
For a minute, the sound failed to wake Sonic up. He was still sound asleep, dreaming of running across a long, cloudy floor. And then he heard it. His phone was ringing. Instantly, he sat up and grabbed it. "Hello?" he said, his voice not sounding tired one bit.
"Sonic? Is that you?"
"Hey, Unc!" said Sonic. He hadn't heard from his Uncle Chuck in a while, so hearing his voice made him smile. "What's new?"
"I was planning on making an updated report on multiverse travel," Uncle Chuck explained. "If you would like to help out, getting some of your friends from other worlds together for an interview would be perfect!"
"Good to know," said Sonic. "Tails and I are off at the beach house again, but if we have time, we'll see what we can do."
"No pressure! Enjoy your vacation!" And with that, Chuck hung up. Sonic put the phone down, put his Power Sneakers on, and ran out the door to go for a run along the beach.
Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!

It was a beautiful summer day, and Pumpkin was ready to make the most of it. As soon as she arrived in Whisker Haven, she and Treasure went for a walk together, heading to the Lake of Wishes. It was around that time of year for the Royal Moon to appear, and they wanted to watch it arrive together.
In the middle of their waiting, a hummingbird fairy found them at the lake. "Waiting for the Royal Moon, I see?" said Ms. Featherbon, perched on a nearby flower.
"Uh-huh," said Treasure. "Can you believe it's been three years since that robot invaded Whisker Haven?"
Pumpkin shuddered a little. Even after all the adventures she had been through, thinking of the invasion still made her remember how scared she was in the moment. "I'm glad Sonic came and helped us stop that robot," she said. "Although…"
"If the robot hadn't invaded, we never would've met Sonic and his friends!" Treasure finished the thought.. Just then, a gust of wind picked up, and the three turned to see the green planetoid they recognized as the Royal Moon arrive.
"Make a wish, dearies!" said Ms. Featherbon. The three closed their eyes and made their respective wishes. I wish for a fantastic celebration for it at the end of the month! Ms. Featherbon wished.
I wish for lots of more great adventures with my friends, Treasure wished.
As for Pumpkin, she wished for continued peace for Whisker Haven. The adventures she had been on were exciting, but she enjoyed the peace that Whisker Haven usually brought. And besides a one-off attack two months ago, it had enjoyed such peace for the last two years.
Pumpkin opened her eyes and looked at the Royal Moon one last time. Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!
[Character Selected: Unikitty]
[Current World: Lego Planet U]
[Current Location: Unikingdom, Unikitty's Castle]
[BGM: Continued]
Unikitty jumped out of bed with her usual brand of cheerfulness, if a bit more peppy than usual. "Good mooooooooorniiiiing, Unikingdom!" she sang. On such a beautiful day like this, it felt right to say good morning to everyone. She flew out the door into the hallway. Puppycorn was already awake, sniffing around for his favorite ball. "Morning, baby bro!" said Unikitty.
"Morning, sis!" Puppycorn responded. As he said it, he finally found the ball and began chewing on it.
In the kitchen, Unikitty stopped in her tracks, finding a humongous waffle in place of the table, with a strange-looking contraption sitting next to it. After a second, Dr. Fox and Richard poked their heads out of the waffle. "Morning, Dr. Fox! Morning, Rick!" said Unikitty, not stopping in her tracks.
"Morning, princess," said Richard in his usual monotonous tone. "As you can see, Dr. Fox's new waffle maker did not work as planned."
"On the contrary," Dr. Fox interjected, taking a bite out of the waffle, "this is the best waffle I've ever tasted."
Unikitty took a bite herself. Waffle-shaped sparkle matter appeared out of her head. "You're right!" she said with delight. "Could you make another?"
"As soon as I get my waffle-maker charged up again," said Dr. Fox, banging her contraption. Knowing she had more time to greet everyone, Unikitty flew out the castle's front door. Richard shook his head - even after all they've been through, Unikitty still had trouble sticking to what she was supposed to do.
At his treehouse, Hawkodile was beginning his morning workout. "Bodyguard punch! Bodyguard kick!" he shouted, attacking the punching bag that hung in front of him.
"Morning, Hawk!" shouted Unikitty as she flew by.
"Bodyguard fist bump!" Hawkodile shouted back, bumping Unikitty's fist. "Morning, princess!"
With her main friends covered, Unikitty personally traveled to every resident of the Unikingdom, wishing them a good morning. As she flew around, her expectations for the day grew bigger and bigger.
Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!

[Current Location: Private World, Liam's Base]
[BGM: Continued]
With a half hour left before he had to go to school, Liam figured it would be alright if he logged onto Minecraft for a minute. Even with the school year winding down and finals approaching, he, Danny, and Kevin figured it would be nice to kick off their summer with an in-game camping trip, so he wanted to make sure everything was in order early so that they could all leave as soon as possible.
"Let's see…tent, wood, crafting table, meat, flint and steel," he said, looking over the shulker box he was taking with. "Yeah, looks like I got everything!" He closed the shulker box, mined it with his pickaxe, and tucked it into his inventory. Before he logged back off, however, he decided to go pay a visit to something he had built two years prior.
He walked out of his base towards the giant statue of him, Danny, and Kevin lifting an eye of ender into the air, standing on a meteor. It wasn't just any meteor - it was the Dimensional Meteor that their old companion Buzzer arrived in their world on. If he hadn't done that, who knows where the three would've been today?
"We still miss ya, Buzzer, old pal," said Liam, looking up at his likeness in the statue. "I bet you'd love where we are today." At that moment, a fly passed by the window. Whenever that happened, Liam usually took that as a sign that from wherever Buzzer ended up after he sacrificed himself for the safety of the multiverse, he was still watching over him and his friends.
But instead, it caused Liam to glance over at the clock. "Holy cow! I'm gonna be late!" he shouted. So he logged off his game, grabbed his backpack, and headed off to school for the day. But the fact that summer was coming soon put no damper on his optimism.
Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!

[Current Location: Brisbane, Heeler House]
[BGM: Continued]
Bluey impatiently tapped her fingers on the table. Bandit was busy making her and Bingo breakfast, but he wasn't going as fast as she'd like him to. "Ooooh, where is our foooood?" Bluey sang.
This time, Bandit decided to sing back. "Ooooooh, it's coming, squiiirt!" he sang as the last piece of toast left the toaster. Quick as a wink, he put the toppings on for the two sisters - cheese and jam for Bluey, and peanut butter and banana for Bingo. "Ding! Order up! And I didn't mix it up this time!"
Chilli walked into the room, sarcastically clapping. "Well done," she said. "And it only took you four years?"
"Muuuuuuum!" Bluey and Bingo groaned, annoyed at their mother teasing their father. As the two began to eat, Chilli walked up to Bluey.
"DId you have any bad dreams last night, Bluey?" the big red heeler asked her daughter.
"No," said Bluey, shaking her head. It was true that Bluey had been experiencing bad dreams over the past three months as a result of the bizarre and seemingly impossible adventures the family had undertaken over the past two years. But thanks to weekly visits to a therapist (even if said therapist was a hummingbird fairy from another dimension), Bluey was able to properly manage those bad dreams and the emotions that came with them, and has mostly returned to her old self again.
"That's good," said Chilli, patting Bluey's head. "Remember, it's a daddy dropoff today!"
"Hooray!" said Bluey and Bingo, throwing their hands into the air.
"There better not be any games slowing me down this time," said Bandit. He remembered the last time he had to drop the kids off at school, and they kept playing games that slowed them down and made them late.
"Oookayyy," said Bluey and Bingo in a way that made it clear they were going to ignore his request. After the excitement and terror she had faced recently, Bluey was glad to be back to some form of normalcy again.
Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!
[Character Selected: Jaleel]

[Current Location: Vegetable Hill Zone]
[BGM: Continued]
Jaleel had a bit of a pep in his step as he and Beau Dee walked to school together. Neither of them could quite tell what the source of it was. Maybe it was the fact that it was their last day of school. Maybe it was that the project Jaleel had been working on over the last two months was nearing completion. Or maybe they were just happy to be together.
There was one thought that troubled Jaleel, though. "Beau Dee, do you ever feel like something bad's about to happen to spoil a streak of good stuff happening?" he asked the female Waddle Dee he was now comfortable calling his girlfriend.
Beau Dee considered the thought. "Sometimes, yeah," she answered. "Like one time, I was making a blanket for my baby cousin, and I was having such an easy time with it, I was worried I had forgotten one detail on the pattern."
"And did you?"
"Yeah," Beau Dee admitted. "My cousin loved the blanket anyway, but I still sorta feel bad about messing up the pattern." The two arrived at the playground in front of the school, where the rest of the Outcast Cherubs were waiting for them. "Well, here we go, last day of school," said Beau Dee, taking Jaleel's hand.
Jaleel gripped her hand and walked with her to the others. I hope today's gonna be a good day after all.
[Character Selected: Blue]
[Current World: Storybook World]
[Current Location: Notebook Drive, Burns House]
[BGM: Continued]
Blue was excited for today - the school year was winding down, so as an early start of summer event, her class was gonna go to the park and have a special start-of-summer picnic. Josh was even gonna come and play with her and her friends!
Her excitement was evident at breakfast, as she ate her cereal quickly so she could get to school as soon as possible. "Whoa, Blue! Slow down!" said Josh with a chuckle. "You don't wanna choke, do you?"
"Bow bow," Blue apologized. "Bow bow bow bow bow."
"I'm excited, too," said Josh. "We're gonna have a great time at the picnic!"
Blue nodded. She finished her cereal, going slower to avoid choking, and then put her bowl and spoon in the dishwasher, then left to brush her teeth. Over the past seven months, Blue had experienced a bunch of unusual events, from the magic of her world fading away to a villain named the Manipulator attacking the world. But now that everything seemed to be back to normal, nothing was gonna stop her excitement for the summer.
After she brushed her teeth, Blue ran to the door and waited for Josh to come walk her to school. "Bow bow! Bow bow! Bow bow!" she barked, ready to go.
"Alright, alright, I'm ready!" said Josh, grabbing his backpack. He was going to have to go to school himself, too, but he had time to walk Blue over.
As she began to walk, Blue smiled widely. Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!

[Current World: Pikwik Planet]
[Current Location: Pikwik Post, Backyard]
[BGM: Continued]
Just like many of the other residents of the Chaosverse, the Pikwik Pack was making the most of the bright, sunny day outside. "I'm open!" cried Suki, calling for Hazel to pass the basketball to her. Hazel spun around in place and tossed the basketball over to the hedgehog.
"Not so fast!" cried Axel. He ran over as fast as he could to Suki to steal the basketball, but Suki's smaller size made it easy for her to run away, dribbling the ball over to the hoop. But before she could throw it, Tibor caught her off-guard, stole the ball, and tossed it back over to Axel.
"Dunk it, Axel!" said Tibor, and the raccoon fulfilled the hippo's wishes, dunking the ball into the hoop! "Yeah!" Tibor jumped up and down in victory.
"Great teamwork, you two," said Suki as she applauded, taking the loss in stride.
"Yeah, but we'll totally get you two next time!" said Hazel.
"Oh yeah?" said Axel, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah!" Hazel called back. Just then, three bells rang out from the top of Pikwik Post. "Hip, hip, hooray, there's a package on the way!" The Pikwik Pack all said at once, then they all ran off to retrieve the package, never letting a little friendly rivalry get in the way of delivering one.
Suki in particular was happy that things hadn't changed much since the Manipulator was defeated for good. Today's gonna be a great day! I can feel it!
Overall, the Chaosverse seemed to be at peace. The heroes were enjoying the bright, sunny day outside, almost everyone was getting along, and any villains causing trouble were confined solely to their respective worlds, not trying to attack all of them at once.
Alas, such joy wasn't going to last very long. There is one pink puffball we have yet to check up on yet. He too was expecting today to be a normal day. But he was about to be the first to see that claim called into question, as a dark force was building up over the last two months to take its hold on the Chaosverse…
Postface: And we're off to the races. As a way of serving as a bookend with my first story, Chaos Haven, this one will be ten chapters long, alongside this prologue and an epilogue. Each chapter is aimed to be uploaded each weekday, so this will roughly be a two-week ordeal.
