Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, after reassuring Spyro that he was still strong enough for her in spite of everything that happened to him and Wanda, Cynder and the rest discovered Lilith and Malefor's forces are mobilizing in Eastern Europe, with Scarlet Witch specifically noting Transia. But before anything more could be gotten from that, Johnny Blaze of all people called, requesting a face to face chat with Ghost Rider, asking him specifically to bring the others along. Something seems off with him, but the team decided to mobilize anyways. So, what comes next? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up outside The Abbey, where Caretaker is talking to Magik about something in front of a Limbo portal as Cynder, Ghost Rider, Scarlet Witch, and Spyro walk up)

Caretaker: What do you mean something is "off" with Limbo? More Soulless? A little more detail would be appreciated, Illyana.

Magik: That's literally all the detail I have. But don't worry, I plan to stay back until I have a better idea of what's happening.

Caretaker: Please, do. And next time you sense some kind of danger with Limbo, call me first.

Magik: Khorosho, bumer.

Caretaker: I have no idea what you just said.

Ghost Rider: That's probably for the best.

Scarlet Witch: Definitely.

Caretaker: (Slightly frustrated) Whatever.

Cynder: Changing the subject. (To Magik) Did I hear you right, Magik? You're staying back?

Magik: It's a long story, but I need to check up on a few things about Limbo. It's been acting weird recently, as I'm sure you heard already.

Cynder: Well, that's good to know. Now I need to change my plans as to who's coming with us. (Looks to Spyro and Scarlet Witch) Are you two absolutely sure you don't want to come?

Spyro: Like I said, I don't think Johnny Blaze'll want to see me any time soon.

Cynder: Totally understandable. (To Scarlet Witch) Wanda, the offer falls to you then.

Scarlet Witch: I'm still not sure about how much of Lilith and Malefor's influence has left me.

Magik: Wanda, please. If there was something off with you, I would have sensed it by now. Nico would have sensed it by now. Heck, I'm pretty sure Robbie could by now.

Ghost Rider: True. I haven't felt anything off since you and Spyro got back. And neither did Blade.

Cynder: Four out of four, not bad.

Scarlet Witch: (Thinks it out) Admittedly, a practical test might be an at least okay suggestion, especially since there'll be two Spirits of Vengeance in the room should things go wrong. You know what? Count me in.

Caretaker: I'm not sure this is a smart move. (Looks to Cynder) But I can tell there's no convincing you otherwise. And you were right about one thing, I can't deny the results you got from taking a risk.

Cynder: Glad to see we're on the same page, Caretaker. Then we're off. (To Magik) Are we ready?

Magik: About as ready as we'll ever be.

Caretaker: If what Illyana has told me is true, be on your guard.

Scarlet Witch: As if they weren't already, with me along for the ride?

Magik: Even then, I'll be watching over you from this end.

Cynder: Sounds like we've got a good team observing us.

Caretaker: Regardless, be careful. Blaze seems to be acting strange.

Cynder: Trust me, I had the same thought. (To Ghost Rider and Scarlet Witch) Let's go.

(With that, with a bit of trepidation, the trio leaps through a Limbo portal to the southwest, as our scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to end for today. So, it seems like Johnny Blaze isn't all that's acting weird today. There's something off in Limbo too. And that's going to require Magik to stay back. Good thing everybody's confidence in her convinced Scarlet Witch to go ahead on the mission. Spyro however is still avoiding Johnny Blaze after the Quentin Carnival attack. In all honesty, still probably a good move there. Johnny Blaze does not strike me as somebody too willing to forgive. Especially if you destroy his home, regardless of whether you were brainwashed by two ancient evils or not. Anyways, next time, we finally catch up with Johnny Blaze and see exactly what's got him acting so strange. Something tells me it's anything but good. But for the specifics, tune in next time! Same time... same channel!
