Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, Cynder, Ghost Rider, and Scarlet Witch met up with Johnny Blaze back at the mesa where all this began. Johnny Blaze was honestly impressed that Scarlet Witch was returned to the light side, but straightaway made his move. First, giving Ghost Rider the Parchment of Power, making him it's new Guardian. And then secondly, leading everybody into Limbo for a meeting with freaking Mephisto, with the intention of leaving Cynder there to keep The Hunter's spirit away from the Parchment of Power and the Midnight Sun. Needless to say, nobody's too pleased with this arrangement, least of all Ghost Rider. And because of course he would, Mephisto tried to change the deal, and when Johnny Blaze objected, was sent away, and the others were left to fight off hordes of Soulless. So, how's this scene continue? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes in the thick of battle where Cynder, Ghost Rider, and Scarlet Witch are fighting off hordes of Soulless commanded by Mephisto. And the trio appears to be winning thankfully, that is until Mephisto himself gets into the game as Cynder slashes a Soulless apart)

Mephisto: Already your power sends shockwaves through the multiverse, young dragon. Both you and The Hunter. Lilith and Malefor would be proud.

Cynder: I don't give a shit what you or they think, Mephisto. But know this, I'm just getting started.

Mephisto: Good, because so am I.

(With that, Mephisto summons more Soulless, and things look pretty bleak for the trio in the thick of it all, but that's when a heavenly light shines down on the scene, followed by a familiar voice)

Magik: Usurper! You forget, you are not the ruler of Limbo.

(And as Mephisto turns around, he sees a whole other set of heroes: Spyro and Magik the latter of which is sitting on Mesphito's throne in her full demon looking state.)

Magik: I am!

Mephisto: Illyana. Nicely done, I must say. You always were so gifted.

Magik: (Rising from the throne) So gifted you stole me from my parents, twisted me into a living weapon, until I cast you from this very realm?!

Mephisto: Well, that's still a yes.

Scarlet Witch: Now this is sounding familiar.

Spyro: Let them go, demon, or so help me...

Mephisto: (Chuckles) You really aren't as intimidating as your predecessor was, Spyro.

Magik: It doesn't matter. I have reopened Blaze's portal. As well as a few others.

(And with that, several Limbo portals open, including the one back to the mesa)

Magik: (To Spyro) Take the others and leave. Mephisto and I have some... catching up to do.

(Not needing any convincing, Cynder, Ghost Rider, and Scarlet Witch are already running towards the portal when Spyro catches up to them. All of them stop for a moment to ensure Magik's got this, and she acknowledges she does before opening a giant Limbo portal while the others step through back to Earth)

Mephisto: A minor inconvenience, nothing more.

(As the battle begins in Limbo, everybody else is back at the mesa, where of course there's more danger, as more of Lilith's demons are staring them down.)

Cynder: Because of course we can't get away from these guys.

Lilith: (Through the leading Nest Mother) I thought I had lost you child. I am pleased you...

(In this moment, something happens to the Nest Mother, where the thing changes from green to violet, as Malefor takes command)

Malefor: (Through the Nest Mother) The page... (Points to Ghost Rider) He has the page! Retrieve it at any cost!

(Just as the demons start to charge, a portal to Limbo opens back up as Magik rejoins the party and everybody gets ready to face down the enemy)

Spirit of Vengeance: (As Ghost Rider summons it) COME AND GET IT!

(And with that, the party of five is prepared for battle, as the scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to end for today. So it looks like Mephisto was the one who was meddling with Limbo, and now Magik has taken back her realm, hopefully casting Mephisto out for good. But of course, even with everybody back on Earth, the situation cannot seem to get any better, as now Lilith and Malefor have tracked them down. Though, strangely the two are getting more and more separate, as now Malefor is actually taking control of the Lilin from Lilith. That doesn't sound good, not even remotely.
