Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, Agatha Harkness' ritual finally began, and things were going well for a moment, but then Caretaker almost stopped it just as things began, allowing Agatha to be possessed by Mephisto. He came here for a simple bargain, surrender Magik and he'd release Agatha. Magik turned the tables on him though, and by channeling her magic through Spyro and Cynder, sent Mephisto back where he came from, and finally allowing Agatha and Caretaker to reconnect. Realizing the two needed some time alone, everybody left them to that. Now, a new day is dawning. So what awaits? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up the next morning, where as Cynder enters the common area, she encounters Caretaker in admittedly far better spirits than she's probably ever seen her)

Cynder: Well, someone's chipper today.

Caretaker: Ah, Cynder. Good thing I found you. I wanted to talk to you about what happened last night.

Cynder: Yeah, I know, the Gray Seneschal was a risky maneuver. But believe me, if I didn't think Agatha was in her right mind suggesting that, I wouldn't have done it.

Caretaker: I think on that, we're all agreed. But, even I can't deny, the risk was, ultimately, worth it. How're you and Spyro recovering from Illyana's spell?

Cynder: Spyro's still sleeping it off, but me? I've been through worse.

Caretaker: Your durability never ceases to amaze me.

Cynder: Thanks, I think.

Caretaker: Oh, that reminds me, Captain Rogers was looking for you.

Cynder: Thanks.

(As Cynder leaves Caretaker to whatever she was doing, she soon finds Captain America, in a decidedly less jolly mood.)

Cynder: (Seeing Captain America is tense) What's up, Cap?

Captain America: We finally managed to get through the HYDRA files we got from Crossbones. Needless to say, they explain a lot.

Cynder: So, what've we got?

Captain America: For one, systematic files on each and every one of us.

Cynder: So that's how they knew all our moves before we could make them.

Captain America: Pretty much. But there was something else. (Pulls up a set of maps for what look like tunnels) This.

Cynder: (Looking at the files) So what is it? Plans for a monorail into Mount Wundagore?

Captain America: Red Skull authorized these tunnels back during World War II. Nobody knows exactly where they go. And some of Crossbones' data hints that some tunnels are even older. And throughout the whole thing, there's frequent mentions of a "Project Gottmorder".

Cynder: How much do we trust Rumlow's data again?

Captain America: Enough to run reconnaissance on it. What do you say? You and Spyro up for a little smash and grab?

Cynder: Spyro's still sleeping off the Gray Seneschal Incident from last night. I don't think he'll be mission ready for at least a day or so.

(At this point, Wolverine walks up)

Wolverine: Well, you can count me in if the grape of prophecy is down for the count.

Cynder: (Rolling her eyes playfully) I had a feeling of that, Wolvie.

Wolverine: So that's the plan then. A cannonball special, but you're throwing me at a whole mountain this time.

Captain America: If anyone can handle it, it's you, Logan.

Wolverine: Well, somebody's got to figure out what this "Project Gottmorder" is. Because based on my limited knowledge of German, that sounds promising.

Captain America: I might stay back, somebody needs to go through this old data.

Cynder: Cap, we can put Tony on that. And Spyro can join him if he decides to join us. But if anybody here knows how the Red Skull thinks, it's you.

Captain America: (Sighs) Honestly, I wish that weren't a good point. Though this could still just be nothing. Red Skull doled out fancy titles left and right.

Wolverine: We won't know till we get down there.

Cynder: Then it's settled, the three of us are heading in to these tunnels.

Wolverine: Into the HYDRA nest we go.

(And as the trio prepare to head out for their quest, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to end for today. So, Crossbones' data has given up a little intel on a rather promising project. Whatever this "Project Gottmorder" is, Wolverine's got a right to sound enthused about this, because anything that literally means "God Murder" could prove useful in taking out Malefor. So, what awaits in HYDRA's tunnels? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
