Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, Doctor Strange and Magik discussed with Cynder the possibility that she's the only one who can use the Gottmorder dagger due to it being a fragment of Chthon himself and the Hunter possessing her and all that. But in that moment, everyone realizes the end of this adventure is nigh. The Avengers' genius bar has made new suits to protect everyone against the rogue magic disaster about to unfold. Cynder's got one too, and she heads upstairs to her chambers to put it on and prepare everyone for war. Today, we get those preparations. So, what comes next? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens up at the CENTRAL system, where Caretaker is overlooking the display, which is clearly displaying that the alignment to empower the Midnight Sun is imminent. At this point, Cynder walks into the room, clad in her new suit, a black and gold mix with a good few spikes that emphasizes her collar, and has the classic Hunter's crest on the chestpiece.)

Caretaker: It's their world now. You know, they're not that bad, humans. Lilith showed me that much.

Cynder: Did I just hear you speaking fondly of Lilith? The world must really be ending.

Caretaker: Fondly, no. Truthfully, yes. (Sighs) There's only one good way to honor my sister's memory is to free her from what she's become. Please, don't forget that.

Cynder: Not planning to. Considering she's kind of helped us get to this point.

Caretaker: So I've noticed.

Cynder: Wait, you knew?

Caretaker: I can tell my sister's hand in an action. I guess part of her is still good after all, if she's helping you. But, we still have to stop her.

Cynder: Then let's get to it. Are the troops gathered?

Caretaker: Awaiting your orders to strike as we speak.

Cynder: Then let's not waste a moment.

(With that, the scene transitions outside where everybody is clad in their black and gold suits, and even Bruce Banner is there.)

Captain America: (Overlooking his new shield) I'm still amazed by this thing.

Blade: I do prefer silver for killing monsters, but this gold looks good.

(And with that, Cynder and Caretaker enter the scene)

Cynder: (Seeing Bruce Banner is here) Bruce?

Bruce Banner: I know, I look a little underdressed. Give me a second.

(With that, Bruce Banner ventures deep into his mind and soon Hulks out completely, revealing the real Hulk, complete with his suit)

Cynder: Good to have you back on our side, big green.

Hulk: Hulk glad to be back. (Sees his suit) Hulk arm... shiny...

Spider-Man: This better not give me a rash.

Captain Marvel: Sure we can't up the fire on this?

Doctor Strange: Starting to think I could have added some cloaks to this.

Cynder: (Sees Iron Man at the center) You did all this?

Iron Man: Well, not all, but a good bit.

Doctor Strange: It was a team effort.

Iron Man: And strangely, not even my idea.

Caretaker: I honestly thought it would be a nice touch.

(At this point, Spyro steps into frame, revealing his full black and gold regal armored glory)

Spyro: And boy does it work!

Captain Marvel: A little thing to bond us on our first apocalypse together.

Iron Man: As a wise young lady once said, we are the Midnight Sons.

Nico Minoru: A family.

Spider-Man: And family is family.

Captain Marvel: So this time...

Wolverine: We've all got your back.

Cynder: So we're all about to storm into an impregnable temple, face the Dark Master empowered by the mother of demons and who knows what else is waiting inside.

Magik: Only this time...

Blade: We're doing it in style.

Spyro: Cynder, we move in at your command.

Cynder: Alright then. May the Ancestors look after us.

Spyro: (Channeling Ignitus) May they look after us all...

Cynder: Now then, who's ready to save the world?

(And on this scene of everyone gathered to head out to Mount Wundagore and stop Malefor once and for all, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good moment to end on for now. So, next time, the final battle begins. Will this team defeat Malefor once and for all? Or will Malefor defeat them and pull off whatever scheme he's working towards Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
