"That accursed rodent!" Wesker snarled with his fist slamming his work desk, staring at the monitor as it monotonously flatlined, indicating the termination of Warechu's life signals.
Within the confines of ASIC's labs, he was visibly upset at the performance of his experiment.
"One job and he folded like a lawn chair in a hurricane." Growled the shaded scientist, before he got up from his chair.
Walking through the room, he passed by many screens and monitors, displaying different strings of code and biological data with holographic images of double helixes and highlighted areas being swapped out.
The scientist ran his hand through his hair before turning to a large vat.
"Unfortunately, I have to use this device so early in the game, but my debatably strongest mutant is a mental fuck up." The diabolical mind sighed before looking at the figure within the human-sized tube.
Floating as a disfigured body, it bore an uncanny resemblance to a certain rat with the ears and the small wings to suit. Even the tail was smaller, yet the frame of the creature was veined and flexed in its incomplete state.
Birkin made his way into the lab, his footsteps echoing throughout the room.
"I've begun the genetic synthesis protocol. The blood samples we collected were enough to reassemble the entirety of Warechu's genome." The undercut scientist reported with a notepad of all the important base pairs to modify.
Pirated hardware that ASIC had access to didn't stop at gaming. Through the efforts of Nemesis and Mr. X, the scientists were able to steal various sets of medical and scientific equipment in the background with the help of some of the syndicate's hackers and infantry.
Therefore, they bridged the gap of technology between the knowledge they had in their previous world and the point of being able to reconstruct the entire deoxyribonucleic structure of a complex organism down to the T.
With the technology later reinstalled within their laboratory, they continued their efforts on the current project.
"Good. The virus should still be within his body at the time of the stress testing trials, and can be integrated into his very composition as a primary instruction in his genome altogether." Wesker explained, before looking at the computer that monitored the progress of the organism within the vat.
On a larger screen, it showcased different images of footage that ranged from sprinting to flying, to fighting, to enduring different types of damage.
"After that, we shall remove the natural limitations of what the previous Warechu was capable of. This way, the possibility of failure will be notwithstanding." The shaded scientist remained stony.
"It will be the beginning of something truly powerful. A failure turned infallible. And my other creations will mutually benefit from this one's success without pause." A small smile at the monstrous beings under his control being able to rise past the human limits he too had surpassed long ago.
"The difference between Warechu and this being will be that of heaven and earth!" Laughing, Birkin was motivated by the potential of their experiment's genetic recomposition.
"Certainly. This creation's completion will be a momentous occasion." Wesker grinned at the vat.
"But in the meanwhile, we have another plan to execute." The shaded scientist turned to his peer.
"The CPUs," Birkin said what was on his colleague's mind. "The interrogation is today?" He continued.
"Yes. In their weakest moment, we must break them beyond their physical restrictions. Their mentality must be rendered unsalvageable to completely seal this world's fate." Wesker walked to the coat rack before switching to his darker trench coat.
"Won't the other CPU Candidates return to claim them? The data we've collected from Warechu indicates that there are several more deities we must worry about." Birkin remained cautious, especially with the handful of gods and goddesses against them.
"We have contingencies, William. Being a scientific mind is all about being rational, so don't let that paranoia of yours dilute your thoughts." The taller scientist walked out of the room, leaving the other blonde scientist with the experiment.
"I was never one for confrontation, so I'll continue working on the subject." Birkin sat down before typing more inputs into the computer that determined the path that the experiment would develop.
Outside of the lab, however, someone else was listening in on the conversation at hand.
Bandages wrapped around his forehead where an injury was sustained.
He posed himself in the darkness of the hall with his sharp gaze seeming near-invisible.
Wesker walked out of the room, unaware of the fact that he was being watched.
The figure decided to follow him, stepping in a way where his shoes made no noise, completely insulated.
They continued to move about the branch, as the virologist passed by another room labeled the engineering lab.
The grunt turned his head briefly and beheld an interesting sight.
A large robot was being reconstructed, with many wires and tubes of the yellow liquid that was found in the rivers of the Gamindustri Graveyard being utilized to power the hull. Its head and torso were hooked up to a large metallic rack with several other machines working on the other limbs with teams of mechanics and engineers on the job.
"I WANT ALL THE UPGRADES AVAILABLE! I'LL CRUSH THOSE MEASLY CPUS WITHOUT REMORSE!" CFW Judge's voice echoed through the room.
"SIR, YES SIR!" The teams unanimously shouted, before sparks flew and drills whirred within the facility.
Walking past, the member sneaked behind Wesker, who continued to the outside of the laboratory sector of ASIC's headquarters.
The stormy background of the Gamindustri Graveyard was around them, with the thunder and lightning strikes occasionally striking the ground with intensity.
'Urgh...' Holding his head in pain, the sleuthing agent felt his head harbor dull pain from the injury.
'Those damned CPUs...' Referring to his last fight, the member recalled his previous battles. 'Because of them... Because of him...!' Clutching his forehead, the bullet wound was healed, but the trauma was still present in his mind.
'If Wesker is going to torture those bitches, who am I to miss out on the fun.' A maniacal look of suspenseful glee spread on his lips.
'If anything, at least I get to make fun of those who are in a position I should be perceived as.' Still viewing himself as an individual beyond even the concept of fighting against, he persisted in his trailing.
Soon enough, Wesker made his way to the area where the CPUs were currently held. Since CFW Judge was not guarding the area, it was left for anyone within ASIC ranks to access it.
The figure made an incredible jump whilst muffling the impact and landing before spectating the interaction.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
The goddesses remained silent, with a mutual downtrodden demeanor.
If we pretended like they hadn't been talking before, this would be the truth.
"Ladies." Wesker announced, his presence being noticed by the divine women. "I see that you've found yourselves tangled up, haven't you?" He continued, ending with painful wordplay.
From the agent's point of view, the purple-haired goddess raised her head with confusion before focusing her gaze on the virologist.
"Who...?" Squinting her eyes, the goddess grew perplexed at the man who stood before her. Her blue eyes focused on his person with white power signal pupils gazing with intrigue.
CLICK!
Taking out a device from his pocket, the scientist pressed a big red button.
SURGE!
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Sending a jolt of share energy, instead of energizing the goddess it only managed to enforce a multitude of pain at the price of spiking her adrenaline.
Purple Heart was breathing heavily, somewhat rejuvenated but with aching pain all over her body.
"Don't go dark on me, Purple Heart. I need all of you to stay conscious."He chided the deity.
"Well, if this is what you had in mind, it's a terrible job..." The purple goddess coughed, before regaining her bearings.
"Yet you're still speaking?" Wesker responded, to which the CPU fell silent.
"What do you want from us?" Purple Heart's tone became more prominent, she borderline demanded an answer from the scientist.
"As you are now, not much. I just need you to listen." The blonde scientist instructed.
"Listen...?" The Planeptunian goddess asked another question, suspicious of the odd simplicity of his request.
BZZZZZZZT!
"AAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Black Heart, White Heart, and Green Heart were all given the same treatment as the previous goddess, who gazed in horror at their methods of being shocked.
"Pathetic. They call you four goddesses? Quite the embarrassment." Wesker sneered, his voice filled with disgust.
"Who the hell are you anyway?!..." The Loweean CPU barked, angered by the pain. Her body was still spazzing with pain as her eyes adjusted to the man's visage.
"My name is Wesker. Albert Wesker. I am one of ASIC's top scientific minds, and my mission is to aid them in their drive for world conquest." Showing his ID card, he slipped it back into his trench before relaxing his arms.
"For the time being." He continued, which caused Green Heart's gaze to narrow at his ending remark.
"Well, Wesker. What do you want?" Black Heart outright demanded, her tone not impressed at the man's rank.
"I need you to answer some questions. This should be well within your qualification as 'deities', unless you really are a bunch of lousy goddesses." Continuing to demean their standing as divine rulers, proved to infuriate the more haughty deities.
"Watch it, blondie! Or else we ain't sayin' shit!" White Heart venomously barked.
"Is that so?" The virologist grinned.
BZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"AAAAAAAAHHH!" Blanc screamed, the shares continuing to torment her body.
"Blanc!" The other goddesses screamed in concern.
"What he's hurting us with feels like shares. But how can they damage us? That should be-" Black Heart was cut off.
"Impossible? Surely you jest." Wesker let go of the button, with a spazzing White HEart hanging from her constricted position.
"The shares within your body are severed from its source. That alone isolates what you can muster to a minute percentile of what you'd be capable of, and simply tweaking the cables to alter your body's synthesis of share energy can easily turn your greatest strength into your worst nightmare." The scientist elaborated.
"Then that means you've altered the nature of our shares!" Black Heart shouted with a conclusion.
"Bravo. In other words, your body will treat your shares as a foreign entity and mistakingly attack your very own cells in retaliation at the push of a button.
"You'd even be able to withstand the effect somewhat if it weren't for ASIC's domination." A tidbit of information was released.
"W-What?!" Purple Heart's eyes shrunk.
"Yes, Purple. Much has been accomplished since you four had your little nap." Digging in his pocket, he threw a device onto the ground.
FLASH!
A holographic image was shown, with large bases similar to the one in Leanbox.
"Several of our established bases were erected all over Gamindustri through construction, repossession, or aggressive takeover. The amount of shares that are allocated to ASIC exceeds 80 percent, leaving only five to each of you after three years." He flipped through several images, as the goddesses were awash with denial.
"Hence even if you were able to reach your precious Sharicites, it would be for naught." Wesker educated.
"No...! No! How did this happen!" Green Heart became distraught at the facts.
"Even your own people lack the faith to worship you with by our mere presence. Although I have faith that you will be useful to us alongside your mortal cattle." He smiled at the quartet.
"What could you possibly ask us that would help you? From your point of view, you're halfway there." Purple Heart stated with a neutral tone, yet cross expression.
"Enlighten to me the intricacies of your godhood. To truly defeat an opponent, one must understand their opponent."
'?!' The agent eavesdropping made a visible reaction of surprise.
The goddesses instantly mimicked the immediate awestriking effect.
"You think we'd just tell you how we work?" An incredulous expression with a wry smile came from Black Heart.
"What are you going to do, not tell me?" A raised brow peeked through the shades.
"Damn straight!" White Heart agreed.
"We won't give you what you desire." Purple Heart seconded.
"Honestly, what did you think was going to-"
BZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Another push of the button was followed by the synchronized suffering of the goddesses.
"I can always increase the frequency, ladies. Talk while you still can." Wesker pressed the four on a decision.
"Exactly how you tick. Or else I'll punch the clock."
"We'll never spill the beans, Whiskey!" Purple Heart blurted.
"Just for that." Wesker snarled.
BZZZZZZZZZZT!
"HOLY MOTHER OF PUDDING- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
Purple Heart's body recoiled with her muscles tensing in agony, and her vocal cords beings stretched to the limit.
"What's all this commotion...?" CFW Magic's voice was heard as she flew to the scene and soon gazed upon the torment that the CPUs were going through.
The agent shifted his eyes to notice the top dog in ASIC before narrowing his own eyes.
'Smug bitch. She won't be so high and mighty when I decide to make my move.' Sharp words were thought of by the individual.
"Oh my. This should be entertaining." Standing on top of the highest peak, she was dead-set on observing th happenings below.
"NEPTUNE!" Black Heart shouted. "Tch. You're not going to get an inch, you bastard!" The black-clad goddess declared.
"Then maybe I should take a mile."
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"DAMNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!" Screamed the haughty goddess, pain reverberating throughout her entire body.
"Blanc." Wesker looked to the blue-haired goddess. "I trust that you'll be compliant?"
"Eat shit, fuckface." A low growl escaped the girl's lips.
"That answer's that question." Yet another click.
B-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-T!
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" It didn't take long for the petite deity to feel the intense pain of the device.
"And you." Wesker pointed to the green-haired goddess. "Will you follow your peers into torment?" He inquired with a stony gaze.
"..." Green Heart did not even validate the virologist's question.
"Inaction is an action, dear." Spinning the remote on his index, he grabbed the tool before thumbing the big red button.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" A shrill scream exited Vert's lips, with the pain in her eyes expressing volumes equal to her voice.
The agent simply observed the scenario from above. He did not mind violence as a means to an end, believe him.
Yet something seemed off about the way Wesker went about it. Torture was never something he enjoyed if it bore no fruit.
Their screams grew annoying if anything. He was sure Wesker felt the same if their intelligent minds were anything alike.
"Where is your Sharicite!" Wesker outright barked at the quartet.
"We won't-" Twitched the purple CPU.
"WRONG ANSWER!"
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Purple Heart bellowed, her body violently convulsing in her cabled bonds.
"Who are your sisters!" Another demand from the blonde scientist.
"We won't tell you!" Lastation's CPU vehemently refused.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" To her detriment, with the despair from her punishment soon upon her.
"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie roll!"
"I AIN'T SAYING SHIT!" White Heart screeched.
"They're not even listening." Grimaced the virologist. "Perhaps a different method is needed." He put away the device.
The green goddess eyed the device's storage before looking back at the shaded man's eyes.
They glowed red through his sunglasses. another detail that the CPU picked up on.
"Since you all think this is a charade, I shall treat you so-called goddesses like the bumbling idiots you are!"
VFFT!
His body moved ahead with such speed, that the CPUs missed the moment that led up to his close and personal position, seeing the man cease to exist and reappear before them.
The light from his red eye was the only indicator that he moved.
"GHK!" Purple Heart wheezed, feeling the pressure on her neck around the gloved hand of Wesker.
"I do not need you alive to figure out your secrets. Being lenient would only spare you the painful demise of a mangy mutt."
CLUTCH!
The sound of the goddess' neck being strangled was audible to all of the CPUs.
"I won't repeat myself to you all. Speak before your four-man becomes a trio." Purple Heart's eyes started to water from the air being forced out of her throat.
"Crap. We can't lose Neptune!" Black Heart looked to her fellow deities.
"But we can't just let this asshole know how to beat us!" White Heart also brought up a good point.
"Either way, we must decide! If not, then this madman will decide for us!" Green Heart gave a frantic gaze between the two.
"..." The inconspicuous figure watched the torture session. Wesker resorted to picking off the 'goddesses' to get his way, to which the figure rolled their eyes.
'It ain't my business, but if they're affiliated with those assholes... Then I have to keep them alive for my own purposes.' Getting up from his perched area, the precariously placed agent stood.
As he jumped, the agent's movements were unnoticed by the scientist as he continued.
"Turning purple, are we? Fitting for your name." The virologist laughed with the shade of the goddess' face matching his words.
"Maybe after your cause of death, your namesake will be accurate, Purple Heart!" Gargling, the CPU struggled with all her might, to no avail. She helplessly dangled with her eyes slowly closing from the lack of oxygen, the other goddesses helpless to aid their ally.
CRASH!
The ground shook with pressure, causing Wesker to release the grip of the goddess, incessant coughing ensuing from the return of respiratory autonomy.
"Oh, what a surprise." The maniacal virologist noticed the new figure.
"If it isn't Accelerator." The esper's identity was revealed, to which the albino-haired member retained a cold gaze to the scientific mind.
"Who?" Black Heart squinted.
"Asked." Accelerator finished, earning a comical growl from the fellow white-haired goddess. "As much as I'd like you to kill off these annoying bitches, I'm afraid I can't let you do that." The esper stood in the man's way.
"And why is that?" Wesker's tone became aggressive.
"If they were meant to be dead, CFW Magic would've offed them the second they lost." A salient point was brought forward by the agent.
"And both of us know that it would be a painfully obvious indicator of your lack of intellect if you couldn't even squeeze the information out of some decrepit bimbos." Accelerator taunted, to the ire of the intellectual.
"This guy's startin' to piss me off...!" White Heart didn't appreciate how they were being treated in the conversation.
"Settle down, Blanc. We must not look this gift horse in the mouth." Green Heart whispered to her fellow CPU, to which she begrudgingly simmered down.
"You of all people came here to tell me that? At least I wasn't reduced to a near-retarded state by Gris!" Digging up some dirt on the esper, the virologist succeded in getting under the esper's skin.
"You're going to regret saying that, dipshit!" Walking, the esper took out his Beretta and made his way around the scientist.
"Am !? Why don't we see if that brain of yours can still comprehend the concept of being out of your league!" Taking out his own gun, the virologist similarly circled the esper.
Parallel to the CPUs, the two trained their pistols before Accelerator gave the scientist a deathly gaze.
FLASH!
THUNDER!
His constricted red eyes bore holes through the scientist's skull, Accelerator ready to beat the agent into the ground.
FLASH!
THUNDER!
Likewise, Wesker's red glowing eyes shined through his shades with another crash of thunder. The two gazes of crimson bloodlust honed in on each other, looking for any sudden movements.
...
FLASH!
"?!" Wesker's expression became spooked, Accelerator seemingly disappearing with the flash of lightning from where he stood last.
The scientist hit the ground, rolling right under a lunge executed by the esper before he stomped into a pile of junk.
BANG! BANG!
Accelerator looked up at the sound of the bullets being fired from his opponent's firearm before they halted inches from his face.
"H-Huh?! A shield?" Black Heart's eyes narrowed. "But I don't see anything." She trailed off.
REFLECT!
"!" All four CPUs reacted with shock at the reversal of the scientist's bullets, the projectiles being flung back to him.
...!
Wesker suddenly appeared to the left in a blur, almost as if he visually teleported.
BANG!- BANG!- BANG!-
Accelerator returned fire, only for the virologist to evade with movements that seemed far too fast for the traditional eye to track, teleporting forward and back from his illusion of sheer agility.
BOOM!
Accelerator, knowing that mid-ranged combat proved fruitless, decided to close the gap with a burst of vector-enhanced speed.
GRAB!
"WHAT!?" The esper exclaimed.
The scientist seemed to have done the impossible, grabbing his foot despite his vector shielding bein active.
SMASH!
"UAGHK!"
Throwing the boy to the ground with one hand, Wesker raised his foot over the albino's sternum,
ROLL!-
THOOM!...
Barely rolling out of the attack, Accelerator still shuddered from the tremors of the impact before getting to his feet.
His eyes widened as his breathing became hitched, psychologically affected by his vector shied being breached.
"They didn't give you your medical files, did they?" Wesker snickered, fingering his gun.
"What the hell are you talking about!" Accelerator snarled, not in the mood for the mad scientist's bullshit.
"Did you honestly think you'd retain all of your power after a traumatic brain injury? Or did your IQ decrease by that much after the operation? Hahahaha!" Only vague details were released before Wesker laughed at the mentally compromised state of the esper.
BAM!
Sending a flick of powerful wind pressure through the air, Accelerator had enough of his opponent's dialogue.
...!
"One." Wesker counted, suddenly to the esper's right.
STOMP!-
SPIKES!
A trail of deadly spikes upturned from the ground, heading to the virologist at an incredible pace.
...!
"Two." The cunning man's voice became more anticipating despite his rather cold features.
VECTOR DASH!-
Closing the distance, Accelerator only needed a single blow to render the virologist a pile of human goop. Rushing ahead with his hand forward, initial contact could be the deciding factor in the battle
DODGE!
Yet Wesker evaded the painfully telegraphed blow, leaving the esper wider than the horizon.
"Three."
BOOM!
"GYAARGH!" The scientist's body lowered before his elbow crunched two of the teenager's ribs. Accelerator's eyes shifted to pinpricks from the pain, sit and traces of the red substance leaving his nose and mouth.
Skidding on the floor, the boy came to a stop a ways away. Using a hand to prop himself, the albino's body sweating from the pressure alongside his abdomen reeling from the pain.
"The Right Hand of God is losing his grip." Wesker taunted furthermore, heckling his adversary's downed form.
"That guy talked a lot of game, but it turns out he's an amateur." Purple Heart, finally able to breathe normally commented.
"Serves him right, considering how he talked about us." Black Heart did not feel any remorse for the esper.
"My vectors aren't supposed to be breached! What the fuck did you do to me!" Scowling, saliva flew from the vitriolic expression that Accelerator adopted.
"The bullet that was lodged in your brain was surgically removed. Miraculously, all of your motor and cognitive functions were left largely unaffected." The scientist explained as the irate fury boiled down to bubbling disdain.
"But alas, the part of your brain responsible for your powers... Was severely crippled."
'WHAT!'
Accelerator's expression turned pale, the fear of being powerless slowly gripping his heart during the heat of battle.
"This on-field lobotomization injury rendered you significantly less effective in combat post-operation. Before, you could use your vectors to manipulate physics in any way you see fit." Wesker pointed his gun at the teenager's head.
"Now you can barely muster three reflections."
BANG!... BANG!... BANG!...
REFLECT! REFLECT! REFLECT!
S-S-SNATCH!...
The virologist fired his gun at the esper's location thrice, only for the bullets to be redirected and caught by Wesker in the blink of an eye.
SMACK!
Accelerator felt his jaw spin from the back fist of his adversary, causing his body to tumble on the ground before coming to a stop before the CPUs.
Staggering to his feet, his face sustained numerous scratches with a busted lip and bleeding cheeks.
"Are you alright?" Green Heart gave her words of concern.
"Save it..." Accelerator growled. "I didn't challenge him for your sympathy. My own goals come before yours, don't forget that." The esper wiped his mouth before looking at his hand.
The stains of his blood were something he was getting much too used to these past couple of days.
Clenching his fist, he stared ahead with a dull glare.
"If you free us, we can help you, ya jackass!" White Heart vied for freedom, lacing it in the facade of reinforcement.
"Fat chance. Do you think CFW Magic wouldn't just lop off your heads the minute you took two steps from your prison?" Accelerator sharply responded, to which the goddess quieted down.
"It's not like the four of you haven't lost as a group either. So much for being a group of goddesses." Snarked the esper.
"All five of you disgrace your namesakes." Wesker's voice echoed, walking casually to the congregation of godlike letdowns. "Even if all five of you were to fight me at once, four of you are barely conscious and the other can barely use his powers." Summing up his competition, the scientist felt confident.
"Truly a sorry sight to see. A sight I'll soon correct!"
ZOOM!
Moving ahead, the virologist reeled his fist with intentions to knock the block off of the esper.
He quickly approached, only mere meters away from the ASIC agent's position before-
CLAP!-
BOOM!
"KYAAAAA!"
Accelerator slammed his hands together, creating a powerful reverberation of air pressure. Wesker was promptly sent back, with the CPUs dangerously dangling within their corded bonds, screaming to boot.
The remote that Wesker had within his possession flew out of his pocket from the impact before skidding to the floor, between the two members of the syndicate.
Green Heart took notice of this and quickly turned to the able-bodied party.
"Grab that remote!" The goddess of Leanbox shouted.
Deciding that it was not worth the effort to rebut, the esper instead focused on capitalizing on a potential advantage for himself.
RUSH!
His scientific opponent also saw his device on the floor and did not waste any time in an attempt to retrieve it. Sprinting at full speed, the albino agent had seconds at best.
VECTOR STEP!-
Using some quick calculations, the mathematical esper used his front leg to kick off of the ground and scoop up the remote in a single moment.
BANG!-
Yet his accomplishment did not come without competition, Wesker firing his gun at his position causing the esper to turn around at the sound.
REFLECT!
The bullet flew back to the virologist before it was efficiently evaded via head tilt.
SQUELCH!
Wesker's hand suddenly reconstructed itself into a mass of tentacles, his bodily structure changing to something much more biologically foreign as the appendages in their slimy state bombarded the esper.
BAM!
It firmly gripped the leg of the vector-manipulating agent, bypassing his shield once more, before swinging him into a pile of junk which promptly exploded from the albino's impact.
Retracting his arm, the scientist used his same arm to hoist a barrel which was branded with an explosive symbol before throwing it into the pile.
Accelerator dug his head out of the garbage pile before seeing the incoming barrel.
LEAP!-
His eyes widened before slamming his fists into the floor, catapulting his body into the air.
-EXPLODE!
Moments before the barrel made contact with the top of the junk pile, erecting a large explosion right below the unscathed agent.
Taking a steel beam from the ground, Wesker threw it into the air before hopping on top of the object. Utilizing his new airborne ride, the scientist quickly maneuvered his way to the esper.
BANG! BANG!
The white-haired agent fired his own pistol, assuming that since there was nowhere for Wesker to move, it meant that he could not dodge.
Yet his face fell when the bullets harmlessly crumpled on the body of the quickly approaching scientist.
Kicking off of the steel beam, the object haphazardly spiraled in the esper's direction, forcing his attention to the construction material.
REFLECT!
Accelerator's reflection snapped the beam in half from his calculations beginning altered to only stop the incoming dangers to conserve brainpower.
KICK!-
"Tch! "
REFLECT!
This ended up working against him when Wesker descended from the air to kick one of the severed beams at the esper, causing him to use up another one of his reflections to break the fragment into shards.
TOSS!
His tentacled arm grabbed the other half of the beam before being swung around his person to give his body the momentum necessary to stay airborne before hurling th object to Accelerator.
REFLECT!-
AXE KICK!
Using his final reflection, the albino agent felt his skull cave in from a sickening blow by the heel of Wesker's boot. The impact rattled his head, the scientist knowing very well that the area struck was sensitive.
His body sprawled from the air before hitting the ground unceremoniously, hitting several stops from a junk pile before rolling on the ground with his body facing up.
His face now covered in his blood from the nasty gash sustained moments prior, the esper's head was swimming in agonizing pain.
His hand clutched the device, but the unbearable sensation in his head rendered him immobile for the time being.
Landing on the top of the pile with some more dignity, Wesker slowly walked down the pile with a sense of swagger.
"They say privilege is invisible to those who have it. And that when those who are above are brought down to an equal playing field, it feels like oppression." Wesker prattled.
"In a way, you must have been privileged your whole life, not to be able to lose to anyone." Jumping from the hill, he landed a few feet before the esper.
"But life humbles us all, and you are no exception. You may be young, but I doubt you are naive, Accelerator." Wesker's tone expressed an emotion of expectation.
BAK!
Kicking the teenager in the face, some blood flew out of the esper's maw with an aching jaw added to the list of injuries.
"Before, you could have very well been one of the strongest in ASIC, dare I say the entire world. But now you can barely take some punches from a man in a lab coat. How the mighty have fallen." Grabbing the boy by his neck, the teenager dangled from the air.
The device that he retrieved from Wesker started to slip from his fingers amidst the situation he was in.
Accelerator felt his grip on the control slipping, knowing that if he dropped it in that instance, there wasn't going to be a second chance to retrieve the controller again.
CLICK!
BZZZZZZZZZT!
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The four goddesses screamed in agony, the button being pressed in an attempt to secure the esper's grip on the device.
Wesker only looked at the suffering deities in delight, knowing that their torment only pushed him closer to his own goal.
CRUSH!...
But his face soon became that of shock when the device suddenly broke, Accelerator destroying the device with the help of his vector-enhanced grip.
"You fool! That shock is no longer regulated! The prolonged exposure will surely kill them!" Wesker barked, furious that his plans had been derailed by the esper, vice gripping his neck.
VECTOR!-
-KICK!
Sending his foot into the virologist's chest, the esper used the grab to his advantage to nail his adversary with such force that his plexus exploded with blood and guts.
CRASH!...
...COLLAPSE!
The force of Accelerator's second hit was enough to fling the scientist into a mountain of junk, which collapsed on his frame soon after he was indented into the junk pile.
Falling to his feet, Accelerator held his throat, coughing before looking upon the goddesses.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Wave after wave of constant weaponized share energy attacking the goddesses, their bodies most likely couldn't handle the relentless assault of seemingly foreign shares.
It might not kill them, but it would eventually render them braindead if their minds were not spared from the effects of the torture device.
Limping to the containment of the CPUs, Accelerator observed the energy that was affecting them. He tried to focus on what exactly this 'share energy' was comprised of.
According to Wesker, the faith of the people was something integral to their power since the lack of it rendered them severely weakened.
Although it could be taken in a metaphysical sense to create miracles like the monotheistic deity back in his world, magical deities also existed, something he'd have to account for when it came to these CPUs.
Speaking of which, this 'share energy' could even be far too potent for mere humans to wield, killing him in the process of manipulating it on top of th unknown values that it possessed.
With that being the case, he couldn't gamble on manipulating the vectors of share energy itself. Neither would affecting the goddesses be viable, since their physiology could be separate from a human's from anatomy to mechanical biology.
Instead, he'd need to alter the medium between the goddesses and the esoteric energy of divine origin.
The cords.
He'd have to disconnect the cords that acted as the link between the CPU and Wesker's torture device. But he needed to do it in a manner that wouldn't alter the frequency of the electrocution.
Supercharging, or otherwise changing the output could be disastrous for them. Singling one out could be an optimal way to test his theorem.
SLICE!...
Aiming at Purple Heart, he swung his arm in a lateral direction.
The goddess grew confused before she felt her body hit the ground. Looking up, the cords that held her were no longer binding her to the imprisoning state.
"What?!" CFW Magic, who was enjoying the struggle up until now, suddenly had a change in demeanor when one of her captives were suddenly freed.
"Neptune escaped?!" Black Heart, aghast at the turn of events, soon returned to the shocking pain of the device's destruction.
Purple Heart got to her feet, the sensation of pulsing pain still coursing through her body but somehow energized through the repeat shock therapy inadvertently supercharging her.
"I feel as if I want to lie down, but my body can't decide on being full of energy or crumpling to the ground." The odd situation that the purple goddess found herself in momentarily took her attention.
Accelerator looked at the place where he had freed the deity from her bondage, realizing that his vector slice proved efficient in freeing the goddesses from their captivity.
"Your belligerence has gone far enough." CFW Magic descended from the skies, her processors glowing with her scythe gleaming maliciously. Her usual smug look darkened, readying her scythe to cleave the esper's head clean off.
The esper stuck his hand out, awaiting contact before realizing his position.
He had no more reflections.
If CFW Magic were to hit him now, he'd be bifurcated without a shadow of a doubt. While his eyes were fast enough to comprehend what was about to happen to him, his body was not going to be able to generate enough force to move out of the way without vector manipulation.
'I never thought about the cooldown! Why did I expect that blonde bastard to tell me!' Angry at himself for latching onto the virologist's taunting, he prepared fro a fatal blow.
CLANG!...
Yet it never came.
CFW Magic's scythe suddenly stopped in its tracks, rattling in place. She quickly looked to see who had stopped it, and grew discontent that it was not the mutilated corpse of Accelerator.
Instead, Purple Heart's broadsword intercepted the blow with a strained expression painting the goddess' face, a clear indication of her lack of shares present on her face.
DEFLECT!
Strong arming the goddess, CFW Magic sent the CPU hurtling before tumbling to the ground with her sword being utilized to stop her movements.
"You were always a nuisance." Extending her weapon, the floating leader of ASIC prepared to finish the job.
Accelerator needed to act quickly, or else she'd be killed, and he'd be next.
Using his regular speed, he dashed to the syndicate leader's position. This earned the operational leader's attention as she turned to the esper's direction.
"Even after she saved your life, you still decide to throw it away?" Her eyes gleamed with amusement, the woman raised her scythe overhead in an attempt to slice the teenager in half.
REFLECT!
Letting her weapon enter his vector field's radius, the weapon suddenly flew at ludicrous speeds into the air without warning. This succeeded in catching the ASIC leader off guard, her eyes widening from the reaction of her scythe.
VECTOR PALM!
Thrusting his palm into the abdomen of the ASIC leader made her lurch, her distracted state being taken advantage of and used to her detriment. It felt as if her organs suddenly ruptured.
WHOOSH!
CRASH!...
The release of pressure sent her flying, crashing through several piles of junk with a clear path of destruction through the graveyard before her body stopped quite a distance from where she was moments ago.
Dropping to his knee, the immediate threats were gone, but now he had to deal with the people he was going to free.
SLICE!
Sending a large invisible slice of wind, it headed in the direction of the other CPUs.
THUD!...
The cords soon snapped from being struck, with the torment coming to a swift end. The other goddesses hit the dirt with moderate discomfort before slowly getting to their feet.
"Is it over now?..." White Heart twitched in pain.
"I believe we can move freely, thanks to that boy." Green Heart gave her flatter peer an equally miffed expression.
"So what do we do from here...?" Black Heart panted, before attempting to stand up.
"Get the fuck out of here." Accelerator shook his bloodied head, before standing up again, starting to decline in stamina.
"We were planning to do that anyway. I was hoping Nepgear would save us but..." She looked the skinny teenager up and down. "Better than nothing, no?" She cracked a joking smile.
REVERT!
Suddenly, a light encircled with digits erupted from the goddess, before she was replaced by someone else entirely.
Instead of a busty woman in spandex-like attire was a girl around 4'9" only slightly younger than Accelerator himself. This so-called Neptune had short lilac hair with bangs that reached down to her collarbone and tired purple eyes staring at him. In her hair, she wore white hair clips in the shape of D-pads. Around her neck was a choker that had a light blue D-pad symbol on it.
She wore a mostly white hoodie dress that had a light purple hood, strings that looked like controller plugs, and two huge purple and white pockets with purple D-Pad symbols on them. The sleeves sported two light blue stripes going all the way down while the front of the hoodie only contained one. The ends of the sleeves and the bottom of the hoodie had dark and light purple stripes.
The zipper emblem and the back of the hoodie had the purple letter "N" to represent the first symbol of her name. She wears light blue and white striped thigh-high socks with frills at the tops and her shoes are purple and blue.
Her clothes and body were banged up, but it looked as if she'd live.
Somewhat.
"What the hell is this?!" Accelerator guffawed, his seriousness momentarily thrown out the window, comical saucers replacing his eyes.
"Watch it, mister! You just saved us, so cheer up! That makes us sorta friends at this point." Neptune smiled, seeming as if she had forgotten the situation she was in moments prior.
"We're not even close to friends. You are simply a means to further my own interests. What you should be doing is not testing my patience before I finish what Magic started."
ゴゴゴゴ!
A terrifying aura emitted from Accelerator, his red pinned eyes staring into Neptune's visage.
A sweat drop fell from the otherwise clownish goddess, realizing that the esper was in fact, not her friend.
"Yeek!- This guy's a buzzkill!... Gotta-go-bye!" Skedaddling to the other goddesses, the albino agent sighed, glad that another headache wouldn't be added on top of his blistering head trauma. If that purple numbskull started blathering, he really wouldn't hesitate to turn her into a bloody mary.
REVERT!
The sound of another goddess transforming could be heard as Accelerator turned around.
From where Black Heart stood, was a girl who looked closer to 20 than Neptune ever did. 5"2, her long black hair was kept tied into two pigtails with blue ribbons, and go down to her waist.
Red eyes similar to his own, the woman's slender figure hinted at athletic performance considering her status as a divine protector.
Her attire consisted of a maid-like black top with golden trimmings and white frills around her upper arm and chest, also revealing a certain portion of her cleavage.
Her skirt was white with black trimming and was rather frilled compared to her top, and went down to her lower thigh.
"Shit! My HDD's run out!" Noire cursed, really not wanting her reserves to give out on her. Considering everything that led to that point, it wasn't like she had much left to begin with.
She too sustained considerable damage, yet paid no mind amid peril.
"Stop antagonizing good coincidence and let's get out of here, Neptune!" She turned to the purple-haired moe-blob to shout at her.
"You got any ideas, Noire? Everywhere is just depression and lost save files." She swept her hand around the immediate landscape.
REVERT!
"The first direction where that Wesker asshole or CFW Magic bitch didn't fly off would be a good start." The girl that White Heart reverted to spoke of an answer.
The goddess that vaguely reminded him of himself in terms of personality reverted to the appearance of a young girl, slightly younger than even Neptune. Same height as well.
A petite figure, dark blue eyes, and light brown hair were the first details picked up. Her hair was short, going down to her chin and her fringe was kept parted to the left. She commonly wore a large and puffy white hat on her head, with ornate blue lining and brown patterns on it.
Her attire consisted of a white top-dress which presumably went down to her knees. The dress was sleeveless at the top and had much chocolate-brown lining around that area. She wore a brown belt over this dress, to keep it form-fitting.
Her final part of her outfit is excessively long and thick white and brown gloves, which nearly went up to her shoulders and had large frills protruding out of the back of them.
She too suffered from the torment with several wounds but remained able-bodied despite her situation.
REVERT!
"We must find a place to slowly accumulate our shares. Although we are far from the optimal condition, this is something that needs to be accomplished if we are to ensure Gamindustri's survival." Vert spoke, looking at the albino esper.
"Head to a safe house in the east. There's a member who's thinking about deserting the ranks over there and constructed it not too long ago." Accelerator pointed to the direction that said haven was located.
"And how can we know you're telling the truth?" Noire seemed suspicious of his intentions, especially after how he treated Neptune.
"Would you rather CFW Magic string you back up and dismember you limb from limb?" A raised brow painted a disturbing picture in the gothic goddess' mind.
"Err..." Lastation's divine protector paled at the thought before dropping her upcoming point.
"We'll be seein' ya! I just got three sentences in and already the plot's moving on!" The purple goddess was miffed.
"I knew I shouldn't have given up main character privileges to Junior, that would've been at least three more lines-" Neptune's yapping about the scriptwriting was thankfully cut short.
"Can it, Neptune! And haul some ass already before one of those guys finds us!" Blanc snapped, her patience wearing thin especially quickly, considering the circumstances.
"We bid you farewell. Do pay attention to the angry mob, young man." Vert pointed observantly before ushering the still-pale Noire to move, the quartet of ascendant ladies moving away from the spotlight.
"Urgh..." Accelerator felt his head pounding before remembering the blonde goddess' words.
"Wait, mob?!"
Half-expecting a middle schooler with a bowl cut due to the theme he got from the goddesses, instead the albino agent was greeted by a horde of personnel with Nepugia at the forefront.
"PURGE THE INSURGENT!" The antagonistic double of Nepgear roared, pointing her finger with fervor.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
RUMBLE...!
The screams of possibly a hundred members of the syndicate shook the ground before they charged at the esper's location.
VECTOR SWIPE!
Swinging his hand, he manipulated the values of the air around his hand, intensifying its magnitude to cataclysmic levels.
SHRED!
A slice of wind so compressed that several dozens of the bodies before spurting an unnerving amount of blood through their midsections.
Their halved bodies fell to the ground, sizeable shrinking the remaining enemies to a handful.
"W-What the hell?!" An ASIC goon screamed, their numbers minimized to a score.
"This guy's fucking crazy!" Another squeaked, some of the morale leaving through the stain in his pants.
"If I hear any more from you two, I'll make sure CFW Magic docks your pay for the year!" Nepugia threatened.
"Y-Yes, ma'am!" The two yelled, before the other members circled him within seconds and quickly formed a perimeter that closed the esper from escaping.
"..." Accelerator remained silent before putting away his gun and raising his hands, seemingly surrendering.
"Is... Is he actually giving up?" Disbelief flashed across one of the cronies' eyes.
"H-Hahaha! Even A-Accelerator knows not to mess with the likes of us!" Confidence burned within one of the other goons.
The esper, however, thought very differently.
CLENCH!...
His fists suddenly gripped, the low-level members of the syndicate too distracted to realize that something else was happening in the background.
"Now prepare to eat some dirt, you traitor!-"
SMASH!
Bringing down his fists on the ground, another calculation was executed with the ground tremendously shaking before a myriad of spikes shot from the ground.
STAB!
PIERCE!
GORE!
Impaling many of the remaining members of the syndicate, their chests, and vital organs left on display of the newly formed spikes of the dark, scorched-like ground.
Left with a single alteration of vectors, he walked over his spikes in a matter of conservation.
Accelerator re-equipped his pistol, before reloading and scouting for any survivors.
Nepugia, on the other hand, only managed to receive a gash on her side with her bloodied sailor uniform being a visible sign.
She hid herself behind one of the spikes, waiting for the right moment to take advantage of the severely drained powerhouse.
S-STUMBLE...!
The blood loss and fatigue reared its ugly head, with the albino esper almost losing his footing on one of the spikes.
DASH!
Which gave Nepugia the perfect opportunity to lunge forward at the shaky agent.
"?!" The red eyes of the esper widened in surprise, before pointing his gun at her.
BANG!...
"Guh!" Nepugia felt the bullet pierce through her body, before crumpling to the ground.
Instead of keeling over like her peers, the lilac-haired ASIC member took out a pistol of her own.
"You're gonna pay for that, you edgelord!" Nepugia shouted, wincing in pain momentarily before pulling the trigger.
BANG! BANG!
Diving to the ground, Accelerator narrowly felt his cheek burned by the friction of the round as he dodged, before removing his visage from plain view.
Feeling the pain of all of his previous injuries resurface via the uncomfortable landing, he was almost overwhelmed yet found the strength to pull himself behind a large spike.
'So you're telling me out of one hundred and one people, SHE was the only one with a gun! ASIC is starting to tank if this is the state of their ranks...' Shaking his head, he peeked out of his cover.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Nepugia hid behind the spikes, the rounds chipping the rocks with enough force to send stones flying. When the shots halted, she took her opportunity to uncover her own position and return fire.
BANG!-
CRACK!
"Fuck!" His shoulder being nicked elicited a curse from the albino agent, feeling the sensation of his parka soaking with his blood.
His body could not afford to sustain any fatal wounds at this stage in the game, so he needed to end this impromptu gunfight.
Taking out his magazine from his weapon, he extracted a single round before reassembling the gun.
BANG! BANG!
Ignoring the shots that barely missed his head, he continued his plan.
Placing the 9mm round between his index and thumb, he pivoted the casing akin to a bottle cork. His thumb tip rested on the primer, before slightly peeking from cover and extending his arm into the open.
FLICK!-
His thumb struck the primer, before activating his ability.
VECTOR CHANGE!-
The velocity that the bullet would have traveled; a mere stone skip in comparison, became incomprehensibly fast.
THOOM!
The shell, bullet, primer, and powder liquified and evaporated in a matter of two femtoseconds.
From Accelerator's point of view, the bullet was there, before it wasn't.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
What would've been a gunshot from his pistol, magnified into a big laser of FUCK YOU to Nepugia from his fingers, razing the entire area into a smoldering wasteland.
The screams of the ASIC member put a small smile on the esper's face, his red eyes reflecting the maniacal bloodlust of crushing his enemies that he was beginning to miss after so many close encounters with the grim reaper.
Left with no more reflections for the time being, Accelerator moved out of his cover to look at exactly what his bullet accomplished.
A straight path into the distance that was rising with smoke and ash greeted him, the remains of the ASIC members completely wiped off the face of the graveyard.
"..."
The esper narrowed his eyes before trudging into the distance, wounded and exhausted.
TRIP!-
Correcting a potential stagger reminded him that he was incredibly close to his limit, and prioritizing his body's condition ruled over all else.
It was a good thing not only for him, but also for Nepugia, who was nastily inflicted with countless burns, lying unconscious on the floor.
But elsewhere, within the rubble that was not too far away, a defective chip toppled from the apex of a pile of junk.
BURST!
"RAAAH!"
Wesker's form exploded from the heap with an infuriated scream. His shades were no longer on his face, revealing yellow eyes that shifted into a fiery orange at the edges of his irises and reptilian-like slits for pupils.
He felt his abdomen, and instead of the gaping hole that would otherwise drench his gloved hand in a clump of blood, was his skin, albeit severely damaged and bloodied.
"I must have regenerated while being unconscious. That meddling retard!"
STOMP!
S-S-SHUDDER!...
Slamming his shoe on the ground with enough intensity to shake the ground. He immediately swiveled his head to find where Accelerator had run off to.
"It looks as if he launched me from the battlefield as well... It would be a waste of time to find him without orchestrating an organized plan to do so." Putting the esper on the back burner, he could always send one of his mutants to dispatch him.
"Not to mention he freed my only convenient and most valuable resources!" Scowling at th loss of the CPUs, he could not let CFW Magic know about their freedom.
"I'll have to dispatch the BOWs." He pulled out a cellular device.
Dialing, he made a connection to Birkin back at the lab.
"Birkin, deploy Tyrant T-02." He instructed
"The Pursuer? Where to?" The fellow virologist inquired.
"Send him to investigate the area where the CPUs were last seen. From there, he can find clues based on several factors and track them down, as his name suggests." Wesker explained.
"Alright." The sound of computer keys could be heard in the background.
"We'll further discuss the experiment and how to deal with Accelerator when I return." The blonde scientist finished the conversation.
"Right." And the line died with Birkin's words.
Dusting himself off, he sighed. Beginning to walk back to the lab, he spoke to himself.
"First that rat, now those goddesses, and then that braindead runt just had to stick his nose in where it didn't belong!" Rambling, the scientist blows off some steam with his rant.
"I joined this organization because it could lead me closer to my ambitions but it's setback after setback with this organization!" Continuing to rave, he hissed at the current situation he found himself in.
"Just like when I was back on..." He stopped himself.
Taking a deep breath, all of his chaotic screaming simmered to something more controlled.
"ASIC is not optimal for my aspirations. When this ship begins to sink, I will abandon it long before the vessel submerges." Walking to the lab, he channeled his mind to a more constructive frequency.
Yet as he walked, the 'captain' of the proverbial ship was on the ground, a few meters away with a trail of destruction from where Accelerator had launched her, unbeknownst to the virologist.
"What a pleasant surprise, Magic." A grin filled with nothing but ulterior motives spread on the man's features. "It seems that you can use some help, no?" He gave the grounded leader a proposition.
SCHING!...
Before he knew it, however, the leader's scythe was millimeters away from his neck.
CFW Magic, still in a survivalist mindset, immediately put the scientist in a perilous position.
"What do you desire, Wesker..." She winced, the injury she gained was much more arduous than originally expected.
"Why so hostile? We're on the same team aren't we?" he attempted to defuse the situation.
"You know little about camaraderie, according to your files..." She still held up her walls against the virologist.
"Yet an expert in betrayal. Speaking of treachery, we have an insurgent amongst our ranks." Wesker notified the leader of the notorious syndicate.
"Accelerator." Grimacing, CFW Magic attempted to get up but needed her scythe to prop her body upright.
"It seems you succumbed to him as well." Observing her state, the scientist made an astute observation.
"It matters not of my current state. For our goddess, we shall prevail." The leader of ASIC remained steadfast.
'Your goddess. I bow before no one.' Wesker slightly scowled, unbeknownst to the purple-skinned leader.
"In that case, I shall oversee your recovery. You will be better than ever, more able to serve Arfoire than ever before!" He gave some bravado at the end of his statement.
CFW Magic carefully eyed, the scientist, his types always being more suspicious than they ought to be, yet for the sake of her goddess, gave in.
"...Do with me what you must." CFW Magic coughed, relenting from the powerful strike doled onto her frame.
"Precisely." Wesker chuckled. "You'll be better than ever when I'm finished with you." He outstretched his hand.
'And I'll be better off than this entire organization!' His grin bordered maniacal when CFW Magic's hand shook his own.
