A Painful Birthday

The sun rose over Konohagakure, illuminating the village in a golden light, but for Naruto Uzumaki, it felt like any other day—a day of disappointment and hurt. Today was his birthday, a day he had always hoped would be special, yet it had become just another reminder of his loneliness.

He lay on his small bed, staring at the ceiling, recalling the harsh words of villagers from the previous years. As he got up, he tried to shake off the dread that settled in his stomach. "This year will be different," he promised himself, but deep down, he felt the weight of doubt.

As he stepped outside, the air was crisp, but it was immediately filled with the usual taunts. "Look, it's the demon child!" a passerby yelled, and Naruto's heart sank. He forced a smile, trying to ignore the stares and whispers that followed him. He walked through the village, hoping to find some small joy, but instead, he was met with disdain.

He wandered towards the park, where he spotted a group of children playing. They were laughing, their parents cheering them on. Naruto felt a pang of envy as he watched them. "Why can't I have that?" he whispered to himself. Why couldn't he experience the warmth of friendship and acceptance?

Later that day, things took a turn for the worse. A group of older boys spotted him. "Look who it is—the birthday loser!" one shouted, pushing him hard. The others joined in, shoving him around, kicking him when he fell. Each blow felt like a weight pressing down on him, but it was the words that cut the deepest.

"Why don't you just go away?" they taunted before finally leaving him bruised and alone in an alley.

As he lay there, tears of frustration stung his eyes. This was his birthday? All he wanted was to be seen, to be treated like everyone else. He pulled himself up, wiping away the dirt and blood, and stumbled back home, where he sat alone, nursing his wounds.

That night, while nursing his bruises, he caught sight of a magazine left open on the table. It featured Sakura and Hinata, two girls he admired, their smiles bright and genuine. He flipped through the pages, filled with photos of happy moments shared with friends.

"What do they have that I don't?" he wondered aloud. They received kindness and respect, something he rarely experienced. Suddenly, an idea sparked in his mind. "What if I could change how people see me?"

The thought lingered. If he dressed like a girl, maybe he would get the same treatment. It was a wild idea, but desperation fueled his determination. Tomorrow, he would explore this new possibility.
