D-008

Approx 24 hours since launch.

Planet ?

The G.T.S begins its descent upon the barren looking land, its thrusters cause grains of sand to go flying in all directions before it finally lands.

After a few moments, thick white smoke comes out of the ship's entrance as it sets up the stairs.

Icarus ignores said stairs, instead opting to jump out into the new planet. Itadori and Cosmo slowly step down the stairs. All three take a glance around the new world. Yellow-ish green skies, thin white clouds moving above. The star feels unusually harsh compared to Earth. The sand has a pale, green tint to it. Almost as if the land itself is sick. Icarus taps his foot on the ground, and notices how much softer the sand was back on the launch site. The horizon of the planet is blocked from view by what looks like fog made up of sand.

Itadori: "I…do not see anything. Why have we landed here?"

Icarus: "And it isn't even a cool looking planet. So…what's the plan? Can't we just go back to the ship?"

Itadori: " We could, but we do not know why the ship chose to land us here. There has to be something that caused the shuttle to choose to land here."

Icarus gives a nod, before noticing a strange tingle.

He reaches out for his back and brings out the Green Chaos Emerald. It was glowing in consistent intervals.

Cosmo: "I-where did you even-"

Itadori: "Icarus, what's the matter?"

"The emerald…it seems to be reacting to something…"

Before they get time to ponder, they hear a vicious ROAR, echoing through the empty desert.

Icarus gulps and leaps backwards in shock.

Itadori and Cosmo remain in place, only digging their feet in the sand to remain stable.

Itadori: "Hm, I am shocked it has taken us this long to meet some hostile animal species."

Cosmo: "I have been feeling quite hungry, so it was about time."

Icarus clears his throat and tries to appear unfazed.

They look towards the source of the noise, seeing the creature's silhouette through the fog.

As the creature steps closer, the ground beneath them begins to shake. Grains of sand jump around as if on a trampoline. The roars turn into deep growls as it steps closer with its 4 flat legs. Pointing up to the heightless sky, the beast's thick, boney pair of horns, extending above its eyes and from opposite sides of its face, are the first to pierce the thick layer of invisibility. Signs of weathering and battles hard-fought appear in the form of cracks across the discoloured horns. Slowly but surely, its colour begins to appear. Dark-green, scaly skin. Its muscular body is obscured by its scarred frills.

Standing tall at over 40 feet, the creature looks down upon the trio as it finally makes it out of the sand mask.

It drags its head upwards…

ROAR!

The fierce scream sends a wave of wind that shakes the endless barren land, shaking the ship from its stationary spot.

Cosmo remains still as sand shoots past them. Her expressions remain devoid of emotion.

Itadori puts his arms across his face to protect himself from the harsh environment, a confident smirk across his face.

Icarus tries to remain still, but closes his eyes when sand gets in them. His smirk is quite shaky at best.

The beast lets his head go back down, then begins to kick one of its front feet back, kicking collections of sand backwards.

With one final push-back, the triceratops charges at the trio!

Itadori and Cosmo immediately leap up in the sky.

Icarus is still blinded by the sand that got into his eyes as the creature gets closer.

Noticing that he is probably in immediate danger, he quickly flutters his eyes open in time to see the creature inches away from piercing him. Instinctively, he curls into a ball and goes right under the beast..causing it to SLAM against the G.T.S, tipping it over. Massive damage is sustained.

Itadori: "You cannot be serious…"

Icarus uncurls and looks back at the creature.

The ship got pierced, and it is left hanging on one of the animal's horns.

Icarus: "H-hey…it's not that bad…m-maybe it can be-"

As if on cue, the beast violently shakes its head, eventually causing the ship to go flying off.

Icarus: "No!"

With a panic yell, Icarus goes dashing towards the ship. He has no idea what he is going to do once and if he gets there, it's not like catching it is an option…but he has no time to turn back as the creature gives chase. Their race caused waves of sand to shoot out in all directions. Right behind them are Itadori and Cosmo, struggling to keep up. They use the chaos generated to find their way to them.

Icarus: "Seriously, you need to calm down! If it is your territory, we are sorry, but man there is no markings on here!"

ROAR!

"Yeah, okay, thought as much."

Icarus looks back and notices the ship is beginning to rapidly fall down.

The second it touches the ground, chances are it will either combust or be smashed up beyond repair.

He closes his eyes and thinks about his options.

Suddenly, he does a small hop, then, upon landing, he squats down to his limit and LEAPS high into the air, trying to get on top of the beast!

However, it seems his height is barely not enough, as the creature gets ready to pierce him with its horns.

In a frenzy, Icarus tries pushing his body upwards in a desperate, do-or-die manoeuvre, pulling his knees up to his chest then pushing them down with all his might.

SWOOSH

Shockingly, a gust of wind seems to emit from Icarus' feet , giving him enough height to go over the beast's head! He lands on its back, then runs all the way to its lower back..and begins a four-point sprint start.

He notices the ship getting closer to the ground. A small rush of panic runs through him.

He ignores it and tries to focus.

Ready…

Set….

Go!

With a strong initial hop forward, Icarus DASHES across the beast's back, running all the way to its head in the hopes of using it as a ramp…

The ship continues to fall…

Icarus gets closer to the edge of the monster's head…

He JUMPS in the air!

The world slows down for him…

He slowly inches to the ship in the air…

He notices he lined up himself slightly off…he is going too far to the left!

He is almost level with the ship…it is barely outside of arm's reach…

He stretches his arms in a last-ditch attempt…

His fingertips barely grip onto one of its edges!

The world is moving at such a crawl that he can see the broken glass frozen in place. He has never gone this fast before.

He goes inside of the ship and begins to look all over for anything useful onboard.

He is getting tired…

…He can feel the ship falling faster.

Without any time left to think, Icarus grabs whatever he can get his hands on and throws it to the outside. Supplies, water, the spacesuits…he then goes to each of their individual cabinets. He has nothing useful on his side, so he scouts out Itadori's…

The wind seems to be getting louder and faster…

Finding a few pictures of him and Angela, he tosses them outside too before dashing into Cosmo's room…

Parts of the ship begin to break apart…

Icarus enters the Seedian's room and finds nothing, but then through the chaos, finds something glowing on her bed. He quickly grabs it in his hand , afraid that he wouldn't be able to find it in the sand if he tosses it like the others…and makes a run for the exit…

…he jolts…and…

BOOM!

The ship explodes mere seconds after Icarus' jump, hitting the creature right in the head!

Icarus ragdolls through the sand for a few moments, taken off course by the shockwave of the explosion.

When he finally stops with his face facing upwards…Icarus looks up into the sky…

It seems like it's becoming nighttime…

The dark skies have a tint of green to them..combined with the morning and it looks boardline hideous…but contrasted with the black skies and flickering white lights…it causes a wave of relaxation to wash over the brown Hedgehog…

Icarus' eyes feel heavy…as he falls into unconsciousness…
