Heated Battle Against Ice of Evil
"Yay! You tell them we mean business, Laphicet!" Asta nodded then glare at the evil man again.
"Say whatever you want about these people. But I'll do whatever I have to, to protect!" Asta declared as he held his sword strong and pointed at Heath.
"Interesting. You don't have any magic power in you just like your friend said, and yet you still intend on protecting these pathetic little animals that they are truly important to you?" Heath asked, not that he'd even care about asking them as he forms ice daggers at him.
"I'll send that ice right back to—" However Asta never got to finish his sentence when one of the hooded men let out his Mist Magic to surround everyone and then lots of those ice daggers appeared everywhere around them.
"Oh shit, this using a combination." Velvet alerted.
"Ice and Mist Compound Magic: Endless Ice Cage." Heath said the name of this combination spell.
"(This guy… He's gonna try and push us around with this.)" Laphicet thought hated when bad guys think of something dangerous like this.
"Do you imagine you can still protect your herd of trash like this?" Heath asked.
"Bastard, you're really pissing me off than you've already have." Velvet growled.
"I have never been particularly fond of doing things "slowly but surely". However, this would seem to be the most effective method." Heath stated as he commands the ice daggers to attack.
But Asta was able to deflect all those ice attacks away from the villagers and send most of them right back to Heath.
"Nice one, Asta!" Laphicet smiled.
"Thaw, ice." Heath quickly used his magic to thaw the ice into nothing just as they were flying at him.
"So, it can not only cancel magic, that sword of yours can reflect it as well. It would seem this is how you were able to get into the Magic Knights despite not having any magic power." Heath started to see he shouldn't underestimate that boy, and the one with the silver flame.
"But you're a fool if you think that will defeat me. I can create wave after wave of Icy Fangs. Go on. Let's see you protect them." Heath dared while sending down his attack.
"Silver Flame Creation Magic: Shattered Paper!" Laphicet unleashed his small but strong attack spell to intercept all of the first waves.
"Awesome job there, Laphicet!" Asta smiled before slashing at some more ice attacks.
"Don't go patting his back just yet, he's still going to attack." Velvet said while slashing away some ice with her Demon Arm Magic and absorbing some of them.
"Fucking damn, this guy!" Magna was angered while firing his own Fire Magic attack on some ice.
"(The four of us kinda have our hands full keeping the villagers safe. Even with all of us working together, we'll start to run out of magic soon.)" Magna thought feared the worse thing that could happen.
"(We're up against four guys powerful enough to be Magic Knights. And I have a feeling that one still hasn't shown us everything he can do.)" Magna thought looked over, feeling that Heath isn't using his full strength yet.
"(This is turning out to be a hell of a first mission for those three. Things are goin' south quick.)" Magna thought hoped these newbies will be able to pull their weight in this battle.
"But if all that was enough to make me give up, I wouldn't be a man!" Magna remembered the lessons Seihi taught him all the times they would meet.
"Here we go! Your fellow commoner is gonna keep you safe and sound!" Magna promised to the villagers. He will keep on protecting them even with his dying death.
"Silver Flame Magic: Arctic Pearl!" Laphicet unleashed his fire dagger directly at Heath while sending some more of his fire at the ice daggers.
"Ice Magic: Crystal Shield!" Heath quickly formed three ice barriers shape like snowflakes to protect himself from that fiery attack.
"Impressive, that boy found the time to attack me while trying to keep the villagers safe at the same time. It would seem this one is a prodigy with magic." Heath was surprised to see that in boy this young.
But then a water attack launched by Noelle came flying at Heath and his group only for that water to miss and splash down to the ground close to them.
"(Shit, not again.)" Noelle thought cursed at herself.
"A Magic Knight who can't even control her magic properly?" Heath was surprised by this.
"The Black Bulls must truly be desperate to have accepted this one." Heath mocked.
"Like you wouldn't know what it's like to be weak to do anything!" Velvet growled with her demon arm glowing.
"Demon Arm Magic: Element Absorbed Unleash, Jet Blizzard!" Velvet formed a black-colored icicle wave extending toward Heath.
"Ice and Mist Compound Magic: Icy Wave!" Heath and his minion casted a spell to create wave made of ice to clash against Velvet's attack.
"It looks like you not only absorb the magic power with that hand of yours, but you can use the magical element of that magic for an attack of your own. This one should be careful with." Heath narrowed his eyes.
"But you leaving your position was a bad move." Heath said.
True to his words, the people she was protecting from that spot left a small opening for the Endless Ice Cage attack to strike at some of the people leaving them with cold cuts on one spot of their bodies.
"No!" Velvet screamed, realizing that she screwed up.
"Such fragile trash, incapable even of protecting themselves." Heath mocked.
"You bastard!" Velvet growled as she quickly goes back to smashing those ice shards away.
Heath decided to make this more difficult for them by adding even more Icy Fangs about over forty of fifty, just to be on the safe side to make his job less difficult for himself when he is on an important mission for his master.
"Forsaking them will be your salvation, Magic Knights. Go now, and live." Heath advised.
"And abandon them? Not a chance!" Asta refused to leave.
"A real man doesn't give up on anyone, no matter how bad it gets!" Magna stated.
"We'll keep on fighting until the very end!" Laphicet shouted as he sends in more of his silver flame attacks on the icicles of death.
"(But at the rate this is going, we might not be able to last long if we don't do something about that guy!)" Laphicet thought knew the only way to end this was to stop Heath.
"(What's wrong with me? Even though I'm royalty… Even though I have more magic power than anyone here.)" Noelle thought wondered why she couldn't do anything to help in this situation.
"Stay behind us, Noelle!" Magna said as they keep on fighting the ice attacks.
"(I'm only holding the others back. There's no point to me being here.)" Noelle thought feared that she is useless because of her lack in controlling her magic power.
"Forsaking them will be your salvation, Magic Knights." Heath's words repeated in her head.
"(…That's right, I am royalty. I can't die in some backwater village.)" Noelle thought started to think this isn't a fight for her to be in. Trying to convince herself with selfish reason.
"(I'll go. Just leave, and—)" However, someone grabbed onto the wing-shape blazer of her dress and tuck it to get her to look down seeing the little girl.
"Miss Magic Knight, please help us! We need you!" The little girl begged with tears.
"Noelle! You're stronger and so much more than you know, show us why you're a royalty!" Laphicet shouted out to her.
Then something snaps within Noelle from both the pleading eyes of this little girl and the words from Laphicet just now, something inside comes up and washes away the thought of running away from her mind.
"(This little girl is looking me in the eye and begging for help. Laphicet believes in me, believing that I can do it. I have to do it, protecting her and Laphicet!)" Noelle thought decided to stay and protect this village.
Her Grimoire glows brightly as it is responding to her deep feelings of deciding to stay and it opens showing a new page with words appearing so suddenly.
"(That looks like… a new spell?)" Noelle thought was surprised that she somehow unlocked a new spell. Seeing this shows that she is stronger than she realizes, and she is going to use this new spell to prove it.
"(I won't run! Never!)" Noelle thought was determined to protect everyone.
"Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Lair!" She summoned a large pool of water suddenly showed up surrounding her, the other Black Bulls, and all the villagers as the water forms into a giant protective dome that the Endless Ice Cage attack cannot pierce through no matter how many times they fall down.
Narrator: A Grimoire evolves along with its owner; a spell appears as the mage grows stronger. This growth chiefly refers to an increase in magic power through training or to improved handling of said magic power. However, it may also occur in cases of heightened or altered emotions or accompany great determination.
"Well, I'll be damn." Velvet was surprised.
"I will protect them. I am royalty. What's more, I am a member of the Black Bulls!" Noelle declared with her head up high.
"Wow!" Laphicet was awestruck to see this kind of magic power happening right before his eyes, he turns to Noelle who is the one casting the spell.
The little girl, named Lou, looks up in amazement to see how wonderful the lady Magic Knight is doing to protect them with her magic.
"You're amazing!" Lou complimented.
"Well done, you did us proud." Velvet smiled proudly for Noelle.
Heath unleashes two dozen more of his ice attack on the watery dome to see if he could break through it, but that proves to be pointless as the ice daggers just splash and shattered on impact against Noelle's protection spell.
"Well, that wasn't so difficult, after all." Noelle smiled even though she's sweating just a tiny bit.
"(That is one serious spell.)" Magna thought was impressed with this girl now.
"There, see? You'll never know what you're capable of until you're willing to give it a try." Magna said.
"Great work, Noelle. Just keep this up until those guys are finish." Velvet smirked.
"That's impossible. How can she have so much power?" Heath was taken back to see that the pathetic girl who wouldn't control her magic power earlier is somehow now capable of making his own attack worthless.
On the sidelines, the beast was watching. Waiting for his chance to strike. To seize the enemy by the throat.
The beast is Asta and burst right through Noelle's water barrier with his sword charging straight for Heath in the chest.
And in that moment…
"It's like my friend said, I don't have a single drop of magic. But that doesn't matter. I'll still destroy you!" Asta promised as he thrust his sword right at Heath in the chest pushing him back and making him cough blood.
"No! Master Heath!" Both of his men gasped in shock that he got hit.
"That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!" Magna was glad to see that Asta was able to land a hard hit on the fucking dickhead.
"Did… he get him?" Noelle asked.
"No, the bastard was able to react on that." Velvet noticed what happened.
Asta also notices what was going on with his strike as it felt a bit off course for him to strike as Heath just chuckles, that's when Asta looks down to see a thin layer of ice at the bottom of his foot.
"(Oh no, I slipped on his ice and killed my momentum!)" Asta thought feared his finishing strike was sabotage.
"That sword of yours may be able to nullify magic, but that can only go so far when it's wielded by an ordinary human." Heath stated.
"Now it's my turn to take a stab at you." Heath said with his Grimoire flapping to a spell for this attack.
"Heavenly Ice Fang!" Heath created a very large ice attack that pops out of the ground to stab Asta in the chest.
But Heath's eyes widen he noticed something that shouldn't be there such as a wall of silver flame where that sword boy should be in his place taking the brute force of the attack and even the trip part of it melted from the fire.
"Huh, Laphicet?!" Asta gasped, seeing his new friend in front of him and forming a fire wall in front of them too.
"Hey Asta, hope you don't mind if I cut in." Laphicet smiled.
"But wait, when did you get out of Noelle's barrier?" Asta asked.
"At the same time, you did." Laphicet answered.
(Flashback)
The moment Asta ran toward the water all of Noelle's barrier with his sword to cut through the magic, Laphicet immediately follow Asta from behind very close to him.
"I was right behind you when you broke out and attacked the guy, and glad I did." Laphicet said.
After Asta landed his attack on Heath, Laphicet looks down to see the ice he stepped on and knew what was going to happen next.
(Flashback End)
"So, I protected you with my fire and here we are." Laphicet explained.
"That is so awesome! Thanks a lot for saving me"! Asta thanked, now really liking this guy.
"(It would seem there were two of them coming out of the barrier, and I was only focusing on the one in front of me that I didn't even notice the other one behind him. A mistake on my part.)" Heath thought hated himself for not seeing this coming.
"Alright, Heath, was it? It's time for you and your lackies to pay for what you've done to this village!" Laphicet glared.
"Fools. You all just love to keep wasting my time away, the price you'll pay will be quite high." Heath was angered, he really wants to get this mission over with just like he came here for.

"Asta, I got a plan. I'm gonna create some covers and you need to get behind those guys, be ready. Got it?" Laphicet requested to trust him.
"You got it!" Asta nodded. Not needing to know the full plan because he trusts Laphicet.
"(I have to give this my all, to show this guy what a magic knight can do!)" Laphicet thought clutched his fists and the silver flame burst out.
"Silver Flame Magic: Pyrogenic Ring!"Laphicet unleashed a burst of silver fire only just heading towards Heath like a big wave of fire.
"You won't get me that easily!" Heath formed his ice shield to protect himself from this silver fire attack and his men.
But he gasps when he sees cracks forming in the ice wall and Laphicet immediately launches another fire attack.
"Silver Flame Magic: Gatling Arrows!" Laphicet unleashed a big barrage of fire.
"(No! He's going to break through!)" Heath thought gasped, seeing the cracks on his ice wall getting bigger.
"You're done for now!" Asta shouted as he jumped in behind the crooks.
"What?!" Heath gasped.
Asta swing the flat side of the sword catching some of Laphicet's fire attack sending them down at Heath and his men which at the same time the attacks on the other end broke through the ice wall, a fiery silver explosion erupts from both sides engulfing Heath's group.
"Yeah! We did it!" Asta shouted cheering.
"Awesome!" Laphicet smiled.
"Well, would you look at that. Those little newbies did it." Magna smiled.
"Yes, they were able to perform quite well." Noelle commented in her royalty attitude.
"(Oh my God! Laphicet was just so cool!)" Noelle screamed secretly in her mind.
"Good job, you two." Velvet was impressed.
All of the men are unconscious, and Heath is barely standing with his body waving side-to-side covered in some burn marks even on his face as he is about to lose consciousness any second now.
"(No… Impossible… Me? Bested? And by these two… little boys?)" Heath thought couldn't believe something like this just happened right now. Being defeated in battle by these kids including the one with no magic at all.
"(If only I could have been more use to the master, but…)" Heath felt his mind going blank and his body fell to the ground.

It was a tough battle for our Magic Knight heroes to fight off the bad guys while protecting the helpless villagers at the same time, but Laphicet was able to come up with a plan to beat them with a big help from Asta to pull off a combo that knocked them all down saving the village and avenging Seihi.
