Chapter 26 Talk with My Parents
Fischl's POV

Bennett and I waited in a cave for the rain to stop. Once it was done, we stepped outside.

"It appears that the fury of the heavens have subsided", I said.

"Fischl, look", Bennett said suddenly as he pointed to the sky. I looked up, and was met with the sight of a beautiful rainbow.

"Wow", I said in awe. "It's so beautiful."

"It is", Bennett agreed. "You know, one of my dads told me something very important about rainbows."

"And what would that be, my beloved", I asked.

"He told me that, the rain may make things dark and gloomy. But, once the light returns, you may have a beautiful sight waiting for you."

After Bennett said this, I thought about his words, before smiling.

"Those are some very wise words that your father spoke", I said.

"I know, right? My dads always know what to say to me when I'm feeling down!"

I continued to smile at Bennett as he said this. Then, I took his hand in my own.

"Come, my beloved", I instructed. "Let us return to the city."

Once Bennett and I returned to the city, he walked me back to my house. And when we got there, I spotted my parents.

When I saw them, I took a deep breath, before walking up to them while still holding onto Bennet's hand.

"There you are, Amy", my mother greeted when she saw me.

"Good afternoon, Mother", I greeted. "Good afternoon, Father."

When I parents heard me talking like this again, they looked at each other with confused looks on their faces.

"Hey there, Fischl's mom and dad", Bennet greeted them.

"Hello Bennett", my mother greeted. "What are you doing here?"

"My beloved and I have had an honest conversation about our true feelings, and it has strengthened our resolve to stay together."

After I said this, my dad sighed in disappointment.

"Amy, why are you talking like that again", he asked me. "I thought you said that you were done with that Fischl nonsense?"

"My decision to give up my title of Prinzessin was made when my heart was filled with great despair", I said. "However, after my talk with my beloved, I have come to realise something important."

"Which is", my dad asked.

"That being Fischl, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, is path that I have chosen for myself, and that I should stay true to myself even if others judge me for it."

"We're not judging you, Amy", my mother stated. "Your father and I just want what's best for you."

"I know, Mom and Dad. I know that you just want what's best for me. But, shouldn't I decide for myself what that is?"

After I asked my parents this, they looked at each other as they thought about my words.

"Fischl's mom and dad", Bennet started. "I know that you're worried about her, but I don't think you have to be. "She's amazing and capable just the way she is!"

"Bennet", I said, touched by his words. I then looked back at my parents, who sighed in defeat.

"Looks like you've made up your mind, honey", my mom said.

"I have", I confirmed.

"Nothing we can do about that then", my dad said, before changing the subject. "Anyway, there's something else your mom and I need to tell you, Amy."

"What is it", I asked.

"Your mother and I will be heading off on our next adventure tomorrow", my dad revealed.

"Is that so", I asked.

"Yes", my mom replied. "Since we're leaving tomorrow, I was thinking that the three of us could have a nice dinner together tonight?"

"That sounds like it will be a nice affair", I said. "I shall be sure to attend."

"It has been quite some time since I have been able to taste mein Kaiserin's cooking", Oz added. "I too shall be happy to attend."

"Bennett, you should join us", my mom suggested.

"Me", Bennett asked as he pointed to himself.

"Yes", my mom replied. "Amy's father and I would love to get to know you more."

"Yes", my dad agreed. "If my daughter is going to have a boyfriend, then there's a few questions I'd like to ask him."

Hearing that my parents wanted to get to know Bennett more made me happy, and I smiled at them.

"So, what do you say, Bennett", my mom asked. "Will you join us for dinner?"

"Of course", Bennett replied enthusiastically. "I'd love to get to know you two more too!"
