A/N: This is it, ladies, gentlemen and nonbinary folks. After close to three years and several chapters later, this fic is coming to an end in a couple of weeks...that is, provided I get no more requests. This chapter may contain some spoilers, but then again, depending on how Season 8 goes, it may not. Besides, this fic was never intended to be canon; it was more of a labor of love dedicated to my favorite MHA pairing ever, and I'm thankful for everyone who took the time to read, review, fave and follow it. I don't know what's gonna happen next, but one thing's for sure: I'm far from being done with writing TodoDeku. Whatever happens next, stay tuned!
Deku looked out upon the war-torn landscape of Musutafu City as he did his best to recover in the aftermath of his battle against Tomura Shigaraki. It had been a hard-fought one, with many casualties and many more rendered hopeless, and it had come at a cost of that which had enabled him to become a hero in the first place. Still, he was alive, as were all the members of Class 1-A, plus the rain had stopped, and the sun was peeking out from the clouds. Speaking of the members of Class 1-A…
"Hey."
Deku felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around to see Todoroki next to him.
"Hey Shoko."
"Deku, listen, I have a question to ask you…"
Deku nodded. "Go ahead."
"Was it all worth it?"
Deku paused. "Well, it wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done, and there were times where I wondered if I could've or should've done things differently, but if I had to go back and do it all over again…" Deku smiled. "…I wouldn't change a thing."
Todoroki smiled. "You and me both, lover." She frowned. "Part of me wishes I didn't have to grow up under the abusive tutelage of my father, not just because of what it did to me, but also because I feel really bad for how he's felt in the aftermath of what Toya did." Her smile returned. "Then again, if it weren't for my father, I might never have fallen in love with you, the best boy in UA. Seriously, not a day goes by where I don't wake up and think 'I'm so glad I met Deku.'"
Still smiling, Deku formed tears in his eyes, causing Todoroki to frown:
"Deku, why are you crying?"
"I'm sorry…this…this is just one of the happiest days of my life! I want to be with you forever!"
Todoroki smiled. "Awww, you charmer!"
Todoroki gave Deku a big hug, which he gladly returned. Again, the feelings of soft, warm cuddliness never abated. In fact, owing to what they'd recently been through, this was Deku's favorite hug with Todoroki yet, and he just wanted to be in her arms forever as the sun shone upon them. Even if his future as a hero wasn't 100% sure, that didn't matter anymore. As long as he had her, that was all he cared about.
Similarly, this was Todoroki's favorite hug with Deku. Having been through the most chaotic year of her life, she would forever treasure him and everything he ever did for her. Even if he couldn't completely repair the damage that had been done to the Todoroki family resulting from what happened to Toya, he'd helped to bring them closer to the Midoriyas, and she felt like a much better person because of it. Then, while they were hugging, they heard a mysterious woman giggling.
"Ah, the power of young love! What a beautiful thing to behold!"
Deku and Todoroki broke away from the hug to see a floating plus-size woman who was completely white as snow, with her hair in a flipped bob and an unearthly glow about her. She wore a strapless bodycon dress and high-heel shoes.
"Excuse me, who are you?" asked Deku.
"Glad you asked, Izuku Midoriya! My name is All. After the destruction of Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, the spirit of One For All merged again with his brother's, and I was produced as a result. Since you have shown conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty, I am granting myself as your new Quirk. With this, you can grant yourself any Quirk you can think of. However, there are two catches: 1. You can only grant yourself one Quirk at a time, and 2. You are only to use this Quirk for the greater good and the defense of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. If you use this Quirk for your own selfish ends, it will become inactive for one day per every offense you commit. Do you understand?"
Deku nodded. "I understand."
All smiled. "Great! Now just relax and this will be over quickly."
All floated over to Deku and kissed him. Upon doing so, she transmogrified into a beam of light, which enveloped his body. Then, in a blinding flash, he felt the sharpest, most intense pain shoot all throughout his nervous system, but just as quickly, it was over. Deku looked at his hands.
"Wow, that…that was intense."
"A-HEM."
Deku looked over and saw Todoroki with her arms crossed, frowning.
"What?"
"Deku, you know it's not nice to kiss other girls!"
Deku smiled nervously. "What? It's not like she was being romantic!"
Todoroki kept frowning, only to break out laughing shortly thereafter.
"Oh, you silly! Come here!"
Todoroki wrapped an arm around Deku and began ruffling the hair on his head.
"HEY!"
Deku and Todoroki had a good laugh about the whole thing, only for a familiar face to emerge:
"Deku, mind tellin' me what the crap just happened?" asked Kacchan.
Todoroki let go of Deku.
"I'll explain on the way," said Deku. "Come on, let's rendezvous with the rest of Class 1-A!"
Deku, Todoroki and Kacchan went to rendezvous with the rest of Class 1-A as well as their teachers. Even if this mess wouldn't be cleaned up overnight, at least the people of Japan – the world, even – could rest that much easier knowing that a single act of kindness had blossomed into the greatest love story ever between two heroes.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
