Chapter 24 Rooftop Showdown
A Day Later…
Shitō Village
Naruto Uzumaki woke up from his slumber by staring at the empty ceiling of the hotel room his teacher had rented him and for his teammate Sasuke Uchiha.
He rubbed his eyes to try and relieve some of the lingering drowsiness. He got up quickly and stretched his back hearing some pops, He looked around the room and saw a note that was slipped under the door.
He slowly walked towards the door releasing some yawns on the way and only focusing the minimum amount of attention on the paper to see the same written excuse on it by his supposed "Teacher."
Sorry kiddo but I can't join you for training today I have research that's been coming up and seems I've found a lead.-Jiraiya
He simply tossed it into the trash bin in the corner of the room turning toward his asleep teammate and with more temptation, He went back to sleep.

Sasuke Uchiha woke up quietly analyzing his position on the bed he was sharing with Naruto who seemed to be lying peacefully with a small bit of drool coming from his mouth.
He sat up looking around him with dead eyes using more of his time to think of what had happened yesterday.
'Right, after I blew up the balloon I had to keep the next balloon from popping…' He saw the bag of water balloons on the dresser. The Rasengan is a jutsu that was made by the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze the Yellow Flash.
Jiraiya was coincidentally his teacher and knowing the technique decided to teach the two of them the technique.
He still had some opinions about the whole thing. Almost like he was never meant to be here.
Sasuke during his time in the leaf, hell even in his team his sense of belonging always shifted with his sense of self.
Yet being here made him feel out of place the most, it may be their dynamic of being idiots. But it felt like something more, something familial almost.
The word made Sasuke shiver slightly with the fact that the only surviving member of his family was…him.
There was a knock at the door that took his attention away from his thoughts. He took a look at the door only to feel annoyed.
Sasuke turned to the sleeping Naruto, "Hey idiot wake up Jiraiya's come for training." Sasuke put on his sandals and Naruto woke up in a heap while also putting on his sandals lazily.
'Ugh, but I thought he didn't have time to train us.' Naruto silently thought before looking at the pouch on the table and grabbing it.
It was silent for another second before another knock filled the room with noise.
Sasuke got up from his place on the bed, walked toward the door, and stopped to take one more glimpse at Naruto putting on his pouch when he heard something that made his ears twitch.
"What the hell, we're here for a fuckin kid? Why the fuck did you even bother to get us here Itachi?" Sasuke eyes widened when he heard the name he dedicated his entire life if needed to being spoken.
"This is still a very big risk despite the four of us being here Jiraiya The Sannin is nothing to scoff at he could have very well killed both me and Kisame on his own with possible reinforcements we can not let this chance crawl away." Itachi's cold words pierced through Sasuke's heart like needles at his pressure points. Precise, calculated…cold.
Sasuke grits his teeth and narrows his eyes when Naruto's voice breaks the silence. "Sasuke is there something wrong?"
There was silence as Sasuke turned to look at Naruto and felt his stomach start to fill with worry, confusion, anger, and more than anything else fear.
Call it his instincts but with more than enough proof Sasuke ran toward Naruto and close-lined him, making the blonde-haired boy cradle around his arm before taking the brunt of the shattering glass with his own body.
"Ahh-Sasuke WHAT THE HELL! ARE YOU DO-" Naruto's eyes widened upon hearing the door snap easily at the sword that pierced it seeing two recognizable faces and two he didn't know at all. But if he had a single sliver of pattern recognition he would know that the people wearing black cloaks or red clouds on them were bad news and sure enough he had more than enough.

Sasuke landed roughly on the roof of the nearest building he managed to jump to recoiling feeling some of the glass shards staying on his back. He quickly swiped what he could before Naruto took his hand and jumped away making them avoid their kunai which landed where they stood.
"What the hell!" Naruto landed taking the brunt of the force between the two looking at where the kunai landed to see four figures all with black cloaks with red clouds on them.
Seeing the 4 cloaked men Naruto's throat tightened remembering his time back at the land of waves when he first saw them. Specifically the Shark Man and Uchiha.
It was silent for a moment but that was before seemingly the leader of the four stepped forward and cleared his voice.
"Nine tails Jinchuriki, may you give yourself up without a fight maybe then…" The man gazed deeply into Naruto's eyes while he did the same thing to a set of three tomoe-Sharingan.
"We'll let your friend live…" his eyes flickered to Sasule quickly returning to Naruto but not before catching a glimpse of Sasuke glaring his eyes out.
Naruto's mouth went dry as his mind tried to formulate a response but not before his thoughts were interrupted by the man who was wearing a face mask.
"You called for reinforcements for this?" The man seemed speechless for a moment and another one of his cohorts replied.
"Yeah, we should cut a limb off already while we have the chance." The Shark man grabbed at the hilt of his blade ready to draw it at any time.
"Yeah, Itachi I need my sacrifices and it seems I'm going to have my fair few of them." The white-haired man chuckled to himself.
He stopped his laugh abruptly but the residuals of his laugh lingered on his face when he said his next line.
"Now"
Wilderness in the Land of Fire
Few hours before
"Shikamaru" POV
I quietly mull over the time that passed trying to catch up to the Toad Sage. I had stopped counting the time however after the time it took us to finally call it quits and rest for the night. Which wasn't as much as I desired.
I didn't know what the time may have been but it was enough to be completely exhausted trying to keep up with everyone here. They were all at least better than me in so many ways that I felt so out of place.
I was surrounded by people who were way older than I was and felt the intimidation that came with it.
I have unsurprisingly been the most physically exhausted while everyone else in this group seemed to be fine or were hiding it behind their mask I couldn't tell.
A voice calling my codename caught my attention making me slump up in my sleeping bag. "Hey Deer get up it's your turn to take watch." I quickly rose hearing the voice of my superior slipping back on my mask and passing by our leader "Cat".
I sat quietly on a tree trunk farther away from the camp than I would have liked but now sitting down I felt my sleep deprivation eat away at me threatening to close my eyes and keep them shut until a voice I didn't recognize kept them pried open.
"Ah, Gawd fucking damn it! Do Itachi and Kisame need our fucking help…I mean it won't even be that much fun though I heard from them that that Jiraiya guy…might be worth sacrificing to Lord Jashin." The man yawned loudly clearly making a scene even a genin could probably spy on him.
My mind raced through so many possibilities and was ready to jump back to return to camp or go ahead to fight the man but something in his stomach vehemently told him he would die.
I felt my breath start to shake and my thoughts narrowed down to one possibility.
He knows…he knows I'm here.
I with anxiety filling my body take a look from my cover on one of the higher trees in the forest and look down at the man noting his familiar appearance and most certainly his weapon.
A Scythe but not quite a normal scythe with one blade no… he had 2 more blades accompanying it on his coat back holster.
I stared at the man my eyes gouging a hole into the back of his skull. I couldn't feel anything at the moment he turned to face me with a fully toothed smile and excitement covering his eyes as we gazed at each other's eyes and time stopped for only a few seconds before I was pulled away.
A hand came under my mask covering my mouth not to release any noise.
The man cackled walking away but not before leaving us one last message and it was heard loud and clear. "Shitō village…be there." He said the words with conviction showing only an ounce of seriousness before disappearing, utilizing the shadows the trees gave him.
My breathing returned to normal once I heard the person behind me release both her breath and her hand from my mouth.
Following her example I exhale all the tension from my body before turning to the newcomer being the team captain of the Anbu squad "Cat".
Our masks concealed our faces but I could only assume that she saw right through me and my incoming question and all she did was nod.
I exhaled once more before following "Cat" back to camp… my mind was working tirelessly trying to find solutions for the situation one thing came to mind. I quickly shook my head at such a thought and went back to thinking there was something much better in her than that gamble that would only buy some time…
One thing was clear after all my thinking… we wouldn't win this battle.
It was a battle one that would most likely end in death…

Writing the end of her message "Cat" rolled up a paper and quickly latched it to a messenger hawk following the Ambu operatives as they followed the tracks left by Jiraiya.
They would need reinforcements…and she didn't know how many of these the village could get her when all was said and done. She gave a side eye towards the recruit who seemingly tucked himself back into his sleeping bag.
'He's here for a reason because he knows at least some of these people and has seen their abilities….' She then looked at the rest of her squadron of shinobi sleeping.
They had no hope of winning but that isn't why they were sent. Most of the people here are at a high chunin level but shat they specialize in was…buying time. If she was honest she was the strongest here and her range of abilities
She gripped the hilt of her katana on her back and directed her gaze back at the hawk who vanished from sight.
'I hope we can make it in enough time….just like… I miss you…' A lone tear fell to the floor.

"Now"
A group of 24 Leaf Anbu landed all around the group of four. All of them grabbed their blades and stood protectively.
Naruto and Sasuke both looked shocked at the recent happenings and gulped while getting them selfs ready in their battle stance alongside the four cloak-wearing men who pulled their respective weapons.
"Kekeke this is going to be fun." The man with the scythe cooed with a smile returning to his face.
It was silent for only just a moment until all four men jumped faster than most people could follow the Uchiha quickly ran through hand seals.
It didn't take long until some of the Anbu went through their hand seals to try to counter the strong Fireball shot from the man only being countered by three Anbu using a similar technique uttering the same cry of "Fire Style: FireBall Jutsu."
The flame balls clashed with each other ending with a flash and explosion following it.

"Shikamaru" POV
Covering my eyes from the flash I heard a multitude of sounds coming to my ears but from what I could hear the most important one I did catch was the sound of steel against steel.
I swipe my hand away quickly seeing everyone scattered around all of the rooftops of Shitō.
Kisame Hoshigake, The Tailless Tailed Beast, had his way standing in front of a group of 10 Anbu all keeping their distance to avoid the great distance a swipe of his sword could reach.
"Heh let's have some fun shall we." he smashed the platform he stood on causing a smoke screen.
Kakazu (no recorded family name) The Unkillable man, stood his ground against 9 Anbu who he looked uninterested in before groaning to himself readying himself for his battle.
My eyes returned to where it's needed most as I saw three Anbu land by me and "Cat" getting flung in our direction mostly unhurt controlling her momentum to flip and land gracefully revealing the man who had made his presence known to me and "Cat"
There in front of me stood Hidan (No recorded family name) The Immortal Shinobi, with his Scythe standing in front of us with a smile.
"Heh well it's you two huh my lucky day I'll have at least 5 sacrifices for Lord Jashin!" he laughed and we all simultaneously pulled the tantos from their sheaths.
His laugh finally stopped with an intense stare directed just at me as if we were the only two people there. "You…your, special Lord Jashin is asking for you to be sacrificed the most…says you have some kind of power like him inside you…heh said he'll give me more of his power…if I split you open!"

Itachi Uchiha, Itachi of the Sharingan stood in front of Naruto and Sasuke who readied themselves. Sasuke turned on his Sharingan while Naruto steeled his resolve.
He gazed at the two boys his gaze lingering on Sasuke more than Naruto if only to see his rage and three tomoe Sharingan greet him.
"…You've grown Little Brother…" Sasuke teeth ground against each other in anger as he saw the man who killed his family.
He readied himself to launch at him but was stopped by Naruto who gave him a nod. Sasuke looked taken aback but stood down. At the moment he wasn't strong enough…not yet, so they only had one option and it was to buy time.
'I need your help for this one…hairball'
'Hmm…'
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

A giant burst of smoke came from the activation of the Jutsu people had to move away to get out of the encompassing smoke to reveal more than 1,000 Shadow Clones of the 9 tails jinchuriki.
Most people caught onto the screaming of bystanders and another recognizable shout and poof.
Many of the clones took the cue to either rush at an opponent or strategically try and hide.
Naruto's eyes widened at the number of clones he had summoned.
'I only tried to make 500 clones how did I make that many?' The question though was soon answered by a deep husky voice he recognized told him absentmindedly behind his cage.
'I've been affecting your control of Chakra since whenever you do it but now I'm lending you some…don't think I'm helping you because I turned soft…boy' the ginormous fox said behind the bars separating the boy who stood with his back turned.
'He's just like the rest…I need him alive however dying with this boy brings more complications…where also all these men are after us…they wouldn't be looking for…' The giant Fox was taken away from his thinking as the water swayed with the movement of the leaf ninja turning to him with a break bright smile.
"This is awesome! Bring it you bastards are so gonna regret coming after Naruto Uzumaki!" he pointed to the roof of his mindscape while the Fox's eyes bore into the boy.
Humans, he could never get little things like them.

"Naruto!" Sasuke mouth instinctively said with his eyes wide staring into Naruto's eyes turning red with a black slit for a moment before returning to his blue eyes.
"What the hell?!" Sasuke yelled for a moment before Itachi landed next to them.
"Why? Why are you after Naruto? Brother…" Sasuke spitefully retorted when he saw the person who he was related to.
"It's none of your concern little brother." Itachi stood silently staring at them until a Shadow Clone jumped to throw a punch at his face but was caught and thrown towards Sasuke like he was trash.
"Wow," Both of the Narutos said in unison when Sasuke caught the body and threw him to the side dispelling the clone.
"Sasuke you sure you want to fight this guy?" Naruto asked his friend while readying himself to launch at the opponent or bail at any moment.
Sasuke grits his teeth at the situation and the many noises all around them and it all leads to one conclusion.
"We have to buy time for that old hermit to get here…there's a reason you have backup…brother!" Sasuke jumped back to create distance and started to weave through a set of hand signs followed by Naruto going through his own set.
Itachi simply looked on silently making his hand seals before the three finished at similar times the boys uttered their combination.
"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu/Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" The dragon of flame soared empowered with the wind just shot towards the elder himself readying for his counterattack only to find his limbs being held by more Naruto clones.
The attack hit true making an explosion of smoke covering where he was until it cleared out revealing a limped Itachi.
"Right! We got him!" Naruto pumped his fist in the air until the body of Itachi imploded via crows coming from him.
"Wha?" Naruto muttered but Sasuke's eyes quickly showing the trial of Chakra spun around quickly to see Itachi but most importantly see the pinwheel shape in his eyes.
"You don't have enough hate or strength little brother." as quickly as he said it he cast his Mangekyo Sharingan's ability over Sasuke causing the black-haired boy to stagger.
"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled to his friend until he watched Sasuke fall over screaming bloody murder until he proofed back into a Naruto clone and then dispelled into smoke.
Itachi's eyes widened at the Clones dispelling in shock before blood spilled from his eyes only to hear the sound of many birds chirping.
"DIE ITACHI!!! CHIDORI!!!"

Just Outside Shitō Village
"Are you seeing this Master Orochimaru?" A man with white hair and glasses with a headband shows his allegiance to the faction of Orochimaru the Snake Sannin.
"Yes…this complicates things quite…" Orochimaru looked outside of his bunker outside of the Village. He had been monitoring both the Lone Uchiha boy from the leaf and the Akatsuki after his departure from the organization and seemed to converge here.
Orochimaru looked at his sickly white hand and the other where blood resided on his palm from his coughing.
His injuries from the battle at Konoha were taking a toll on his body and it was only however long he would need another one.
There was something here he could gamble for…he could capture the Uchiha boy and take his body.
But that would run the risk of running into the Akatsuki who had reinforcement which in his involvement with the group never had happened but his old village had many of their troops.
"Don't interfere Kabuto…I assume we'll be nothing but fodder for those Akatsuki and the others here are too valuable to just send." Orochimaru's face showed all the distress coming with the decision until a voice came from behind both of the scientists.
"Please send me Orochimaru-Sama…" A boy who looked like he was in his late teens walked into the room his long white hair swiping through the air. Two red dots on his forehead and a red outline around his eyes.
Orochimaru's eyes swiped at the boy entering the room they resided in and then to Kabuto who looked at him with a questioning look.
"Kimimaro…you don't have a chance even with my Curse Mark Level 2 you couldn't hope to stand up to those odds. You would just die helplessly and unhelpfully. " Orochimaru answered the boy who looked as though he was still a boy getting scolded by his father.
"There is…that project that you've been working on Master…Level 3…" Orochimaru leveled a glare at the younger boy until he bothered speaking once more.
"The third level of my Curse Mark has only been in development for what a year and anyone I dared use it on imploded Kimimaro simply put. Both the Curse Mark and you are unstable." Orochimaru concluded by looking away from the boy only for him to explode in a desperate plea.
"Please let me be helpful to you in any way Orochimaru-Sama I can handle I know I can." Kimimaro had raised his voice for the first which caused Kabuto's eyebrows to rise and flicker his gaze between both Master and Student.
"Kimimaro you're own body is killing itself adding the curse mark you already have is enough to stabilize you for only weeks what do you think would happen of this-" Orochimaru spoke calmly to the boy but was interrupted by his assistant.
"I think it's worth a try my lord." all eyes in the room turned to the boy who hadn't spoken up until now to see his glasses shine once over.
"And why is that?" Orochimaru threw hazard against the wind with the question but Kabuto readjusted his glasses.
"The Curse Mark of both Heaven and Earth is used with Master Orochimaru's to act like a power source for the mark to enhance a target's abilities. The same could be said with the newest version of the Cursed Mark but with the addition of Nature Chakra being used and from our experiment on…what remained of the previous users an overproduction of cells from enhanced regeneration had made them regenerate until they imploded from the production to death ratio so…" Orochimaru seemed to get what his assistant was saying and nodded and finished his thought.
"With Kimimaro's illness killing him swiftly he could have an even regeneration ratio which would mean he would be semi-immortal if your hypothesis is to be believed…" Orochimaru's fingers coiled around his chin in thought before looking at Kimimaro.
"This is the riskiest thing I ever had thought about Kimimaru even more than my departure and subsequent attack on the Leaf…"Orochimaru started but was cut off by the boy who nodded his head vehemently.
"I will get Uchiha Sasuke to you Master even if I die for the cause." Orochimaru and Kabuto saw the fire in his eyes and noted they hadn't seen such light in his eyes since…ever.
"Get the supplies Kabuto I'll start with the procedure." Kabuto nodded and ran out of the run using his speed while Orochimaru walked towards Kimimaro.
"This will damage you more than repair I hope you understand this is a gamble and quite the large one." Orochimaru gave the boy a stern look before having the thought of someone he hadn't thought of in a long time. Tsunade his comrade in arms that long time ago… anyways he was getting off-track.
"I know my Lord and I trust you." The word made Orochimaru narrow his eyes at the boy before smiling and biting down on his neck just as footsteps were heard from the hallway.

"Shikamaru POV"
Holding the tanto that came with my Anbu outfit I stood to the ready to face the immortal man who came out of the smoke with a look that screamed 'im ready to cut some throats.'
His creepy smile continued as he rushed towards me quicker than I had thought but was intercepted halfway by one Anbu who had kept with me and "Cat" despite the chaos.
Hidan growled at the an u before kicking them away only to jump back to avoid a volley from the other an u.
I looked on silently grabbing hold of the small blade in my hand starting to feel utterly useless j felt a hand come across my shoulder.
"Kid…Lord Hokage sent you to a company us for a reason… don't make him regret it." "Cat," said as I inhaled finally feeling the oxygen flow through me and energize me before letting the feeling go and exhaling.
'Yeah…I got this.' my grip loosened on the blade and I sheathed it and unstrapped the sheath from me.
I didn't know how to use the blade I was a complete newbie and with the extra weight, it would only weigh me down.
I looked ahead of me to see an Anbu already dead being cut in half by the scythe and the other two and u kept their guard up.
'I've improved I'm not how I was before I met these Akatsuki!'
I shuffled through my pouch and grabbed a kunai from it and I ran forward.
"Hmm, so he decides to fight he he he." the white-haired man laughed as he saw my kunai fall right in front of him uselessly.
"Hah what's that supposed to do-" he caught himself moving back slightly from a spike of shadow to fully impale him but only going through his shoulder due to having rotated while trying to catch himself.
"You little Bastard!" Hidan growled the laughs and smiles cleanly wiped off his face.
He ran angrily his intent clear trying to rip me in two though he didn't get that far as "Cat" with her katana clashed against his scythe which he held to parry her slash. She spun in the air tilting her body as to fully follow through with the movement of her blade and swung her body to make a slash mark of Hidan's chest. While not deadly it would hurt badly making him flinch and giving "Cat" enough time for the other Anbu to cover her with fireballs.
The fireball impacted with Hidan making a smoke cloud cover his body and all surrounding him for the moment.
I quickly make clones which faze me creating the illusion I always made with the justu and I looked ahead to see the smoke clearing up.
Hidan held his scythe protectively in front of him to take the damage instead of his body which swimmingly worked to minimal effect as part of his cloak was burned off.
"Mmh and here I thought I played nice we'll not anymore," he said while muttering the ending for no one to hear he suddenly disappeared in a flash of speed, or at least to me.
He suddenly reappeared in front of "Cat" who had been able to see him and raise her blade to parry the attack with expert precision but the strength used had caught her off guard out to make her skid back and have one of the two Anbu try a slash at the man only to have the scythe with its long-range try to cut him in half if I hadn't tackled the man away in time only to avoid it.
Hidan looked displeased as both I and the Anbu landed to which he jumped towards us high in the air his scythe held up ready to slice me in half.
Time stood still as he came down his scythe came down but subconsciously shadows began manifesting on my body to allow a spike of shadows to try and impale Hidan.
I found my arms being converged with the hands of the Anbu I had saved making the same hand sign I did to make my shadow stitching jutsu before.
I looked back up and I saw a smirk come from him as he used his scythe as a means to swing his body to the side of the spike coming from me to try and slash at me.
I felt my fingers guided by the Anbu trying to recreate the same seals as before but something warm was coming toward both of us. Both me and Hidan saw a massive fireball heading our way which made Hidan jump back after he attempted my life knowing where the fireball came from.
"Kakazu you dumb asshole watch where you-" he was cut off by an unexpected "Cat" and the other Ambu rushing at him while distracted.
I felt the shadow spike on my body recede and the Anbu picking me up and throwing me out of the blast radius of the resulting explosion.
I landed roughly before getting up quietly looking to see "Cat" getting flung back from the force of Hidan's attacks.
He was strong but didn't seem to use any jutsu of any kind. My thoughts were cut off however due to the untimely arrival of his teammate Kakazu landing at Hidan's side. All the Anbu where he was laid dead.

Just Outside Shitō Village
Jiraiya didn't expect something like this would happen he was facing four figures all with black cloaks with red clouds adorning them.
He hadn't expected to come across the Akatsuki outside of town. He had business he had taken care of with one of his spies over the Land of Fire for Tsunade's location and they had finally had a confirmation on where she was.
That was when he came across the four of them. They were clones but of what caliber he didn't know but what he did know was that he had to take care of them as quickly as he could and return to the kids.

He got up off the ground quickly looking over the situation. All the Anbu sent with them were dead all except him, "Cat" and the nameless Anbu who stood their ground yet had many injuries due to Hidan's unrelenting assault.
All the Anbu that had been up to fight Kisame lay dead in pieces as he was fighting a legion of Naruto's Clones and a giant explosion happened on the battlefield with Itachi, Sasuke, and Naruto sounded out.
"Hey, Jackass what was with that fireball you shot earlier!" Hidan yelled at his partner who looked uninterested in the situation.
He stood still not moving anymore or trying to help his partner in this battle.
"Huh at least you know I don't want you interfering," Hidan said disdainfully giving the Masked man a glare who returned it with just as much hate.
"I'm here so you don't just die like a fool," Kakazu responded which made Hidan spin around and shout at Kakazu.
"I Can't Die!"
I look toward "Cat" who stands back catching her breath and watching carefully for any movement that indicates an attack towards them. I followed her lead and then tried to hold back after all their mission was to buy time for Jiraiya to come back and help. Though a gut feeling told him how shit their situation was truly looking.

"CHIDORI!!!" Sasuke yelled the name of his attack the lightning in his control flickered as he neared Itachi, the man who killed his family their family.
But the moment he neared him he saw in Itachi's eyes concern. That had taken Sasuke by surprise and Itachi slipping his arm around Sasuke's arm snapped his arm with more strength than anyone thought needed but that was when a wayward Shadow Clone did a substitution jutsu sending him next to the real Naruto.
"Ahh!" he hadn't reacted and all the pain came all at once as he saw his left arm bend in a way it shouldn't be gritted his teeth and grabbed at his arm forcefully snapping it back into place.
"Ahh!" Sasuke yelled in pain once but with time coming back towards the world Itachi sent a fireball towards the duo Naruto stepped in front of the still-downed Sasuke and brought his hands up to create more shadowclones which became the shields towards the fireball justu's.
Naruto grabbed Sasuke taking him and holding him by his shoulder and running but not before his eyes flicker red with the kyuubi influence making 100 more shadow clones to buy him time.

I stood by thinking over the confrontation from the beginning to now our saving grace is that even being teammates they were at each other's necks but it gave me an idea. This was risky as all hell but it was all I could offer at this point I was too weak to prove worth in a fight with people this strong with my current strength.
I had managed to shimmy towards "Cat" who turned to me expectantly looking in my direction.
"You have a plan," she asked me already getting what I was putting down I nodded to her.
"You need to buy me some time I should be about a couple of minutes but with it I can take that guy out of the fight…I hope." I muttered the end to myself as "Cat" nodded.
I started with my plan which quickly caught the attention of Hidan who spat towards Kakazu and returned his attention towards us.
"Cat" took the lead going ahead of the lone Anbu following her as she pulled her katana in front of her in a protective stance.

Hidan looked past the cat-masked Anbu towards the boy who seemed so special to Lord Jashin. He held his Scythe ready to cleave anyone in his way in half starting with the cat Anbu who started to run at him with a sudden change in stance that made him try to swipe her away like the pest she was but she had gained more strength. 'Hmm using her Chakra for strength.' Well, he could do that too.
Hidan fought against the Anbu their weapons clashing but Hidan was quickly starting to realize that when she didn't take advantage of the blatant messes in his fighting style he came back and rounded back on her instead of erasing all the intentional slip-ups he made putting her on the back foot. The woman after almost getting caught with his scythe then jumped high in the air after the other Anbu shot a fireball at him once more.
'This shit is getting annoying!' a vein popped on the man's head as his scythe was enveloped with his chakra and he swiped straight through the fireball cutting it in half and hearing it implode behind him.
Just as he saw the woman come back he readied himself for another wave of clashes he had with the woman who had to pull the same maneuver with the Anbu but like he was going to let that happen again.
He ran at the Anbu standing back readied to fire his fireball he hadn't the foresight to see Hidan appear in a flash of speed in front of him slicing him in half but not before his fireball collapsed in on itself creating an explosion from inside the imploding Anbu hurting Hidan who shielded himself with his arms. The smoke was tinted red from the blood and when the smoke cleared out Hidan was covered head to toe with blood.
Shikamaru Nara stood himself lying in wait his hands coiling his chakra to form something he had seen many times and tried to recreate many times since he had gotten here yet all had failed but he couldn't afford to fail now.
"What an Idiot." the spectator said leaning his head against the wall and turning to see Kisame still cutting at the clones of the nine tails jinchuriki only to see something was wrong. There was something small coming towards him from the floor.
'What the' Kakazu only had time to flash a hand sign to substitute himself away from an explosion created by clones of Naruto.
'The nine tails jinchuriki is much sneakier than I had first thought.' Kakazu recoiled still caught slightly by the unexpected explosion.
He looked on to see the nine tails carting the black-haired boy running away from Itachi who continued his chase but with the many Shadow Clones the boy was pulling out of his ass to distract him he couldn't easily get to him.
Kakazu took it upon himself after the sneak attack he would like his revenge on the boy after that trick he pulled.
Hidan heard the explosion and he smiled his body now covered in Anbu's blood must have made him look intimidating alright since that last Anbu was just standing there. 'Wait where's the kid? Why can't I move.' He tried his hardest to move but out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the kid holding onto the Rat seal as Shadows stretched from the kid to himself. He then heard footsteps race towards him as he saw the kid again though this time running towards him with a blue rotating sphere of Chakra in his hands.
"RASENGAN!!!"

Nearby Shitō Village
"We're close by the destination." a man said in between the 20 leaving Anbu accompanied by 3 jonin.
"Hey Guy you're sure we should be joining in this mission," Asuma spoke to his friend who jumped alongside him with Kurenai to his right.
"I fear that anything coming in the way of my student's potential recovery must be stopped." Guy's voice sounded serious which shocked both Kurenai and Asuma whose cigarette had long fallen out of his mouth after hearing from his father that his student was sent on a death sentence.
Flashback
Asuma had smashed through the door leading into the Hokage's office followed quickly by Guy and Kurenai only to see 20 Anbu operatives in the room with the Third Hokage standing in the middle of his commands stopping to look at his son in slight annoyance but mostly surprised.
"Asuma…" It was all Hiruzen could say up till Asuma slammed both his hands on the desk.
"Sakura just told me that you sent my kid off on a suicide mission thinking it was a good fucking idea!?" Asuma had raised his voice in the silent room except for Kurenai who scolded the man over the vulgar language to speak to not just his father but Lord Hokage.
"No Kurenai I need answers, Tell me old man what compelled you to do this?" Asuma looked at the man whose smoke pipe hung from his mouth and was grabbed and placed gently on the desk before answering the man.
"Because simply he was the best option Asuma, He may be young but the boy was mostly unharmed in the battle with the Akatsuki unlike you who has just recovered from whichever damage was dealt to you. Not only that but the boy's knowledge and innovation towards both ally and enemy will bolster our forces in this endeavor.
But…for all the boy's done…he knows things he isn't supposed to." at that Asuma's eyes widened he had heard the first part of his dad's argument and while some of it was straight-up bullshit the last part had completely caught him off guard.
"What do you mean Lord Third on things he shouldn't know." Kurenai had cut in which he indulged in detail his recent findings.
"There are many things…with his attitude completely changing from graduation from the academy towards a genin team, his knowing of the village secret of Naruto, his sudden knowledge on S-rank criminals with nothing on there written in there bingo book pages to his, coincidental meeting with Orochimaru in the forest of Death and the Resistance force of the Mist and last of all would be his peculiar training of a technique only few would know how to do and I have confirmation none of them even had the chance to teach him the technique." Hiruzen ended up keeping a leveled glare at his son whose blood pumped into his body and sweat started to come to him.
There was silence until Guy was the one to break but not in his usual exuberant self would.
"Lord Hokage." Guy bowed to show respect which all looked at Guy in a weird tone all but the Hokage who honed his gaze towards Guy.
"May I, Kurenai, and Asuma aid in this mission," Guy asked keeping his head facing the floor as there was another silence in the office.
Hiruzen looked towards his son who looked at his father then moved it towards Kurenai who stood and bowed as well. "You may go."
Flashback End
Asuma felt sweat fall from his face dripping onto the tree he had passed now keeping a steady gaze toward the path ahead.
There were so many things happening that it was kind of getting hard to keep up and now it's starting to truly tip over for the man.
'Be fine kid' Asuma sped up followed by all the others in the group of shinobi.
Behind all the shinobi was a girl with pink hair in some sort of mix of Anbu and chunin standard clothes following them both at a steady but slower speed.
'Sorry but I have to help my friends and team.'

"It's done," Orochimaru muttered upon Kimimaro's standing and started inspecting his own body. The procedure in itself wasn't all that long only taking 10 minutes but he could tell something was happening.
"I feel good…" a bone popped into his palm as he gripped it like a sword.
"My bones are even stronger now….I should go complete my assignment." Kimimaro bowed his head before leaving the room he, Orochimaru, and Kabuto had taken him to.
After a while of silence, Orochimaru looked toward Kabuto and nodded toward the younger man. "Follow him and if he fails his mission make sure to bring his body back at any cost." Kabuto nodded skulking off to follow the experiment Orochimaru looked behind him at the vial of blood gotten from Kimimaro.
'This may be the greatest work yet…'

Shitō Village
Naruto jumped across another rooftop trying to avoid Itachi who gave a determined glare in return.
"Don't look into their eyes fool." A deep voice cut his thinking as he narrowly avoided a kunai thrown from the man.
"What?" Naruto said aloud sparking Sasuke on his shoulder to roll over and stand once more.
"Naruto we can't just keep running we have to hold our ground." Sasuke huffed and Naruto just looked on as if he was crazy.
"Hmm boy… you're putting yourself in a corner with your reckless use of that doppelganger jutsu of yours going through all the chakra I could supply you." Naruto heard the voice again and suddenly found himself back in his mindscape looking at the cage with Giant Fox behind it.
"What why can't you give me anymore?! Hey wait why would you even really want to help me anyways I ugh didn't get to ask you earlier."
Naruto said inspecting his mindscape to be not the best-looking place around.
"It's the seal done by that damned 4th Hokage!" the fox thrashed angrily against the bars unable to even make them budge.
Naruto stayed quiet knowing what most people did just that the 4th Hokage had saved the village from the Nine-Tails 12 years ago.
"Hrrgh! But most of all those Damn! UCHIHA!" a claw swiped at the bars but once more nothing happened to them. But to the blonde-haired boy, something did happen. Each time the fox swiped at the cage he got memories…he couldn't tell if it was really his but all he knew and understood was that a baby's cry drowned out any other noise.
Naruto's eyes open to reveal to him that he is no longer in the sewer mindscape with the fox but in an underground facility. Naruto exasperated heard the same baby's cry. Naruto's breath started to become heavier as his legs moved on their own towards the noise.
Soon Naruto walked into the torch-lit room to find himself in front of many people helping with a red-haired woman's pregnancy.
"Wa?! I'm so sorry!" Naruto in typical fashion covered his eyes with his arm waiting for somebody to yell at him only to hear nothing but the red-haired woman call out his name in a motherly tone he heard only once whenever he heard Sara-Chan's parents were nearby. It always felt disheartening hearing the tone but never about him that he had to squish any amount of that dirty feeling of jealousy each time they had an encounter yet he could understand as the woman cooed his name mixed with the baby's cry.
Naruto's arm returned to its side to see the baby having the same whisker marks that he did.
His eyes widened when he heard a sniff come from a blonde-haired man who stood further away from them.
That's when Naruto took into account that he was astral blue and realized the Nine-Tails was on his shoulder being a chibi version of his normal self with a chained collar with the kanji for "Seal" written cleanly on it.
"Is this…my parents…" Naruto's mouth widened in disbelief unable to say anything more as the Fox on his shoulder held his snarl until he saw the Masked Man in a flash quickly take the wrapped Naruto into his hand.
Naruto stood there completely incapacitated as his eyes stared at the Masked Man but most importantly at the Sharingan.
It all seemed to pass by him in a flash as the blanket was filled with explosive tags and the blonde-haired man grabbed baby Naruto and vanished in a flash.
Suddenly his surroundings changed once more to be outside of the home where the man who had vanished left now wearing the cloak he so desired he dreamed about. The Hokage cloak or robe he didn't know.
"The fourth…was my dad…" Naruto's eyes widened as seemingly all the proceedings happened with his father the Hokage fighting the Masked Man, to extracting the Nine-Tails from his Mother he guessed to the Masked Man controlling the Nine-Tails to attack the village.
"So this is how it happened." he saw a giant frog land on the Bigger Nine-Tails and he recognized who it was.
"Gamabunta was there….and…so…that old pervert trained my dad." the thought came back into his mind as he watched his mother out of energy create chains from her Chakra.
"Wow…can I do that…" he looked on then as the Nine-Tails pierced through the two his breath catching in his throat and tears falling from his eyes.
"Naruto…my son…" the Fourth Hokage uttered blood spilling from his mouth to his exposed seal showing he had sealed half of the Nine-Tails into himself.
"My baby…please." The red-haired woman he heard was named Kushina held Naruto.
"Naruto…be safe live free even without us there I know you'll grow to be a fine young man, heh, and don't forget to get some friends even if it's just a few that you can truly trust then That's fine, and there you'll notice girls but don't choose the bad ones I hope you know what I mean mister! Also, be wary of Jiraiya-Sensei you know. But most of all make sure you have dreams and the confidence to make those dreams come true. Ugh heh, there are so many more things I want to say to you and how I wish to see you grow up but please most of all stay alive and I love you so much." Naruto lost the feeling in his legs as his knees hit the floor and kept him standing looking at the two with tears flossing his cheeks.
"Hmm, my message to Naruto…just listen to what your mother says because I know that you'll be just as stubborn as your mother." Minato smiled as he did his last hand seal.
THE reaper licked his knife and the rest of the Nine-Tails turned intangible going into Baby Naruto.
Naruto looked around him suddenly being in a place that he never had been to a place that seemed like he was on a beach.
"Where am-" Naruto uttered still blown away from his latest findings to hear a voice he heard just moments before but didn't think he would hear again.
"Naruto?" it was two voices called his name from behind and Naruto froze and turned around slowly to see the people he found out were his parents.
"My baby!" His mother ran towards him followed by his father running behind her.
"Naruto! My baby you've grown so much!" Naruto couldn't respond other than allowing himself to be hugged by the woman and respond with an instinctual "Mom" that caused more tears to flood his cheeks.
He was soon held by another, his father not saying anything but he could tell he was grateful to see him.
Silence lingered as the family reunited until a deep voice called to the family one that immediately put the two adults into gear holding Naruto and backing away from the voice.
"Enough with the reunion, we have something we need to speak about…with my Chakra sustaining you both here for longer than you would normally we need to speak 4th Hokage." The Nine-Tails still in his chibi state looked at the blonde-haired man who looked skeptically at him and then at his family before thinking it over quickly and responding.
"Yes our chakra should have only been activated whether the seal broke or was badly enough damaged but somehow you managed to activate our chakra and keep them active longer than it's supposed to." Minato looked at his wife who stopped hugging their son who looked unsure over the situation.
"I sensed your chakra long before now and it was not an accident I brought you here but the reason why was to negotiate a deal of sorts." The Nine-Tails said looking directly at Minato.
"A trade and what even would we want to consider that?" Kushina shuffles in front of Naruto as her motherly instincts tell her to.
"Well figuring that the reason I called you here was for your stupid child's safety as it seems I have an idea what their plan is." That made Minato's eyebrow raise as he looked at Naruto looking at unsure of the whole situation.
"I'm sure those Akatsuki are in cahoots with that Masked Man." It was a hunch on his part but it seemed to align with his suspicions. After all, he's had years to think on the subject and despite keeping himself scarce to the brat he's found that if he let himself be captured it would be the end of everything any of them would know.
"Akatsuki? So are they an organization bent on searching for the bijuu like you but for what?" Minato really couldn't piece together much but with this much danger out in the world and his state, he really couldn't do much of anything.
"They in my knowing are collecting the bijuu for the resurrection of the ten tails." The Nine-Tails said alarming the family of three.
Continuing with his tangent the fox added "That is why I need you to loosen this seal, for as much as I hate you humans for imprisoning me that…thing may not be allowed to live." Naruto looked to the side of his mother to see the seriousness and even a slight hint of fear in the tiny representation of the beast.
Many things in his head were telling him that this was a ridiculous idea and he shouldn't have even stepped up and nodded at the fox but something in his gut coincidently where he was sealed told him it was the right choice.
"Dad…I think I need his strength, especially with these guys there freakishly strong and…" he had gulped down his fears as he looked at both his parents. "We have to work together to stand a chance." Naruto looked at his Father in the eyes seeing his eye color in the man and he narrowed his eyes at Naruto then to Kushina and finally to the fox.
"Then what is this deal/Furball" Minato started but was cut off by Naruto whose nickname made said being to angrily snarl for a moment and make Kushina chuckle to herself.
"That noodle-loving brat can't handle any of my power, he can steadily hand…what 1 tail of my strength or… another form in which he glows with my chakra and his control but with the strength it brings your body wouldn't be able to handle it for long." The chibi said to Naruto who nodded and looked towards his Father who hunched over and placed his hand on the seal.
"I'll keep the end of my deal and preserve my end of the deal and keep your chakra's fueled until a meeting further in the future." that was all that was said until the light began to erupt from the seal until its chains the seal looked far looser.
"Hurry up brat because the battle is only just starting." at that moment Nine-Tails flew into him being red chakra.
"Wow is this his strength?" Naruto looked at his hands to see red surrounding it and suddenly vanished in a second.
"Oh okay well." Naruto looked to his right to see both his parents smiling at him and he felt heat rush to his face at that moment. But something in him radiated happiness that he ran and jumped into their embrace.
"So we have some time do you mind if we talk about what you've been up to." Minato smiled and brightened as they sat down and started to talk.
They were there for however long Naruto didn't care for the time yet he felt like it had been ages and truly he never felt better as he through all his struggles, pains, anger, and sadness to his happiness, friends, teachers, and…girls…his mother defiantly grilled him in that topic.
"Okay, I'm Ready."

Having regained his eyes on the situation Naruto looked to Sasuke who had just told him of needing to buy time for Pervy Sage and he couldn't agree more.
"Yeah, you're right let's do this." Naruto let the awkwardness around himself about his sudden change but Sasule didn't question it and rose for the challenge his Sharingan glowing in his eyes.
Itachi landed in front of the two causing them to give the man all their attention until they heard someone yelling.
"RASENGAN!!!" Both Naruto and Sasuke's eyes widened when they heard the name of the attack but cringed as they recognized the voice instantly.
'Shikamaru!?' They both simultaneously thought when 2 people landed on Itachi's side. Kisame who had been taking down all the clones and their many attempts to blow themselves up on him had wasted his time and now was angrier than he had been before now having a large tick mark on his head. Kakazu after almost being blown up to smithereens for the clones wanted this to end and go home.
There wasn't any time for words as a cry of many people was heard and everyone looked to see more Leaf Anbu accompanied by Guy, Kurenai, and Asuma-Sensei.
"Ahhhhaaaha!!" A cry was heard cutting through the tension on another rooftop a man in a revolving orb was sent crashing into a wall grinding the immortal. There next to the downed Akatsuki member kneeled two Anbu the only two Anbu left standing one having a cat mask and another a deer mask.
"The reinforcements are here." a small smile came to Sasuke's face as he saw them come and jump in front of them.
"Boys! Get out here we'll buy you time." Guy stated quickly pulling out his weapon the Nunchuku and getting ready with the squad of 20 Anbu and Kurenai as Asuma went to the damage caused by the Anbu wearing the deer mask.
Naruto looked at Sasuke and their eyes agreed and jumped away.
"We have to find the perverted hermit before long!" Sasuke yelled to his teammate who followed him until then a bone crashed right in front of where they were.
"I'm sorry but I need Uchiha Sasuke, Lord Orochimaru needs you." a man with white hair and two red dots on his forehead held out his hand and exerted a sword seemingly made out of bone.
"What the hell!" Naruto yelled as he saw the bone come out from the boy's body.
Both Naruto and Sasuke got themselves ready for this next battle and another figure shot to their right.
It only took the both of them a second to figure out who it was but they smiled once they recognized who it was despite the mask which resembled a pug.
"Let's do this/I'm with you/heh just don't hold me back." they all smirked as the boy glared at them in annoyance. This was going to be one of their hardest battles ever but none of them would rather have anyone else at their side.
Team 7 was going to win this even if they were half-dead.
