Talking with the Founder was so boring. She was so set in her ways that she had become vulnerable to Aiden's lies.
Anyway, now I'm in prison with Lukas and Ivor. Reggie-Reg is keeping us locked up.
"Wow, what's that?" Reg asked, holding sand.
"That's… mine?" Lukas questioned.
"It's sand," I said with a smile. "It's what surrounds large bodies of water on land."
"What do you mean 'on land'?"
Ivor butts in, "For goodness' sake, we are not-"
"Hush, Ivor," I snapped. "He can ask us whatever he wants. There's no audience like a captive one." That last line makes me chuckle, despite the joke honestly being kinda lame.
I lean forward and start to talk to Reginald, "Y'know, Aiden plans on stealing the Eversource. I can give you evidence."
"...Alright, I'm listening."It didn't take long to convince him we were more of use free, especially since I'm pretty sure he was already more fond of me than the others. Telling Ivor to hush was a good call, it was mostly what got him to trust me. He gave us back most of our stuff, only keeping a block of sand which we let him keep as a 'thank you'. Now we're chilling in the fancy throne room with Milo, Jesse, and Petra.
Of course, like always, I'm occupied at the bookshelf. It has one of Soren's books! If only he was still relevant to the story so I could tell him. That reminds me of my admin book. Though, despite my love of reading, this isn't really the right time, sadly.
Jesse decided to sit on the Founder's throne. He looked absolutely hilarious, making an odd smile with his nose crinkled like he was both laughing and also going to sneeze. He posed with his arms outstretched on the armrests as he leaned back and put up his feet. Jesse and I thought it was funny, but Ivor seemed to think otherwise as he glared at poor Jesse. The young warrior took the hint and got up swiftly, looking immensely disappointed at his companion's lack of any humor whatsoever.
It was oddly silent, because though we could talk, we knew it'd risk getting caught. Of course, nobody wanted that to happen. Getting caught is like instant death, and I'd rather not experience that until I absolutely have to. I'm quite sure I'd just respawn, but (surprise, surprise) I'd rather not test that theory. There might be less room for mistakes than I think, and the phrase 'you only live once' is something I find terrifying.
Ivor went over to adore the cobblestone generator that is just randomly right outside the throne room for some reason that I do not know. I must admit, it's kind of cool, especially when you see it in person. The way the infinite water source block and the infinite lava source block meet in the middle and create a block of cobblestone before they can barely even touch. It's an interesting reaction for the two substances to make purely on contact and nothing more. It didn't take long for Milo to get caught up in its glory as well, causing him and Ivor to stand there being oh so very helpful like Axel was with his chicken machine.
Lukas and Petra just leaned against the wall and collected dust while Jesse went off to try and figure out what to do. The poor side characters always get the short end of the stick in life. The game sure did them dirty, they literally don't do anything significant.
I motioned for Lukas to come with me and whispered silently for Petra to keep watch for guards. Lukas seemed bewildered at the fact that I wanted him to look for clues like the rest of us. Has this boy ever done anything in his life without being told? I swear, he definitely has side-character syndrome. It's extremely obvious, I'm surprised he didn't die by the end of the series.
So, I motioned to some tracks on the floor. Despite the look he had on his face, he seemed to think they were interesting enough, because he stared at them for a good five minutes before looking back over at me. When he saw me staring intensely at him, urging him to continue investigating, he sighed and crouched down to investigate the tracks further. Satisfied, I turned and began to investigate the wall the tracks lead to. There wasn't much to see, it was just a wall. Of course, I know what it does, but it was still quite boring to look at.
The silence, while previously making me uncomfortable and cautious, felt wonderful and soothing now that my ears had picked up the sound of running water and bubbling lava. The rustle of leaves could also be heard. Though, of course, Jesse was walking very loudly around the room looking for stuff he could hit, that being a dead bush and the cobblestone from the generator. The cobblestone generator simply poofed a new block into existence, causing Ivor and Milo to become even more giddy, which I had thought to be impossible.
Jesse went over and crafted a lever, seeing as he simply felt like it. It worked for Ivor's lair, so why not here too? Well, I'm honestly not surprised Jesse solved the puzzle purely on a whim. Everything the Jesses do work out in the end, despite them sometimes peeving off (..or killing) someone.I just realized I've been spelling 'write' wrong, and now I'm so embarrassed.Long story short, Jesse solved the puzzle, the others went on the minecarts down to the Eversource room while I had to walk down. Now, here we are, staring at spawn eggs innocently while there's prying eyes sneaking glances. There's one thing I knew for certain, I was going to have the "time of my life" swimming later.
I grabbed a slime spawn egg, went over to an anvil, and named it Jerry.
-But… why?-
'Just let me have this, Whisp.'
I hear her sigh loudly.
-Fine.-
'Thank you.'
Then I went and looked at the disk chests for a certain disk. The label is white with two stripes of pink-ish-purple on it.
-What are you looking for?-
'Mellohi.'
-...Why?-
'I like it.'
-..Alright, whatever floats your boat, I guess.-
Finally, I found the disk and put it in my backpack. The room was absolutely beautiful, too bad it became ultimately obsolete in the end. The Eversource comes waddling over and I carefully scoop her up.
"Hey guys, I found the Eversource."
Quickly, everyone gathered around me.
"It all makes sense now! The chicken lays the eggs!" Jesse stated gleefully.
"Well throw it into the minecart and let's get going!"
"Her. Also, no. We're not taking her."
"Zenna's right, we can't just take it. It's literally the chicken the entire city depends on!"
Jesse seemed not to be paying attention to the others.
"...Her?" Jesse questioned.
"The Eversource is female, dude. She lays eggs!" I replied. "Only females lay eggs. I mean, unless…"
"Now isn't the time for this," Ivor started. "We need to-" We, being the good people we are, ignore his griping.
"Unless?"
"Well, do you lay eggs?" I jokingly asked.
"...No?" Mock horror filled his face. "Do you?!"
Milo says something to Ivor, but we simply continue to talk over them.
"Oh yeah, 'course I do. I'm obviously a chicken."
"Ah, how did I not see the resemblance! It's obvious that you are."
I rolled my eyes at him with a smirk and went back to looking around.
"…Oh hey, it's Aiden," I said, nonchalantly.
"What?!" The gang shouted.
The Founder then began to, one by one, knock down my friends. I just stood still with Benedict in my arms, because obviously I'm invisible if I stand still.
"Hang on a second, let's talk about this, okay?" Begs Jesse.
"I'm not sure there's anything to talk about," spits the Founder.
"It's just like I told you, Founder! They're trying to steal the Eversource!" Aiden says dramatically.
"Ah, Aiden! Hi. How have you been doing? Sorry for almost killing you, dude," I apologized.
He seemed befuddled, like he had just then realized that I was there. In fact, he probably had just realized. He didn't really seem angry at me, more of just impressed that I had been undetected and yet still decided to draw attention to myself. Eventually, he decided to continue being a jerk to Jesse.
After a while I got bored, so I went over to the Founder and handed her Benedict, which caught her off guard.
"There is the Eversource, unscathed and not stolen. Why are you so mad at us for wanting to survive? We mean no harm."
"You just expect me to believe a bunch of criminals?" She asked skeptically.
"I've done you no wrong. Name one thing I've done."
"You were building!"
"And that hurts..?"
"...what?"
"What wrong comes from doing that?"
"It's a waste of resources!"
"You weren't using them."
"Yes, but…"
Right then Aiden realized I was starting to convince her and quickly got to his villain speech.
"Aiden, don't do this," The Founder warned.
He grinned, "Somebody order eggs?"
He threw a creeper spawn egg that hit Jesse right in the face. In mere milliseconds, the Founder was fighting it. Unfortunately, she only had stone weapons and didn't kill it in time. The wall was blown to bits and she was dangling off the edge.
Lukas attacks Aiden, telling Jesse to save the Founder. As Jesse obliges, I suddenly threw my shoulder into Aiden, knocking him over. Maya saw that and rushed over to help as Gill (somehow) held back Ivor, Petra, and Milo. Granted, Petra was the only one in the trio who was actually good at fighting.
As Lukas and Maya battled, he tried to get her to side with him. It was working, but not soon enough. Meanwhile, I was falling off the edge due to underestimating Aiden. Lukas saw this and came over to help, but was ultimately useless as he was effortlessly flung off the edge along with me. The sight seemed to amuse Aiden, and he had a good laugh about it as we fell to what he thought were our deaths.Spoiler alert, me and Lukas went straight into the ground.
"I told you to aim for the water!"
"Well I didn't know we were going to fall onto anything!"
"Whatever, now we're both too injured to do practically anything."
"Why didn't you take your own advice!?"
"No man left behind."
He sighed and shifted the position he was sitting in to reduce the pain. Luckily, the same tree he was sitting against had broken our fall. I, laying on the grass beside him, was in too much pain to care what position I was in. Of course, as much as I wanted to stay, I'd still have to go with Jesse to help out. I can't miss any more of this adventure, or I'll have wasted the opportunity of a lifetime. Though, thinking of it now, I'm going to have to heal up first.I could hear Jesse, Lukas and the Founder being annoying.
"I don't think I can go, I'll probably just slow you down," Lukas told Jesse.
"You're right, you don't look that good."
I stood up and walked over to them.
"I'm coming, by the way."
They stared at me, but eventually they got over it. Finally, we began to build upAt the top, the Founder told us she needed to go protect her people. As Jesse went over to help Milo and Ivor, I held off the ghast with Petra. Once the ghast was dead, we ran up to Gill and Maya and knocked them out. I told her to send them over the edge in the waterfall and ran ahead to catch up to Jesse so I could watch him and Aiden fight.
I saw Jesse slowly start to walk towards Aiden, who was on the ground begging for his life. Sadly, I had missed the fight. I quickly stepped up to them before Jesse could make a choice.
"I'll handle him, go save the people," I say.
"I mean, if you think you can handle him…"
"I'll be fine."
Jesse smiled and ran off to help the others while me and Reginald stared at Aiden. He seemed twice more confused than last time I was in his proximity.
"Alright, come on, Aiden."
He immediately bolted up and followed me to the nearby stream.
"Go down it, there's land. I promise you'll be alright, I'll go right after you."
He didn't seem to like the idea, but since he was at the mercy of me and Reginald, he did what I asked. Just like I promised I went right after he did and shouted up to Reginald to go help Jesse. It didn't take long to reach land once more. Lukas, while not quite thrilled to see Aiden, was still glad to see that he was okay. The guards apprehended the three troublemakers, but right before they were taken away, I promised them that I'd come back for them. That was a promise I intended to keep.
The people were ecstatic, especially when Jesse told them to follow both leaders. Since some preferred one and some preferred the other, they thought this to be an excellent compromise.
"I guess we should prepare for nightfall too. Without another portal, we're stuck here. It's been a while since I've had to start from square one," said Petra
"Oh, That's right! In the middle of all that was happening, I almost forgot! When I was on the ground with the Founder I totally found the portal!" Smiled Jesse.
"And you didn't say anything?!" Ivor yelled.
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with Ivor on this one!" Said Petra.
After everyone said their goodbyes and Isa gave Jesse Benedict's crown, Jesse finally lit the portal.
Finally, after all that happened, we walked through the exit portal.
As the magic cleared from our vision, we looked onward, only to be met with more portals.
Well, that was interesting.
'You literally just finished the episode! What did I say about rushing?!'
Look, I was bored, so I wrote! I just happened to write 2,000 words and finish the only episode I could write without needing to know when the crossover takes place.
'Speaking of the crossover, when IS it happening? Also, how is it going to work?'
It's either happening in episode six, seven, or eight. Or in multiple of the episodes, heck if I know. For your second question, I don't know that either.
'How do you not know?!'
It's hard to have conversations through author notes, okay?
'Fine, I'll just have to trust that it'll work out, I guess. Anyway, bye!'
Bye!
I just realized something.
'Please stop realizing things so I can rest...'
Nah. So anyway, it's about the crossover.
'Okay, I'm listening.'
Well, there's also the option that either you and/or midnight could technically go through a portal and end up in the same area without it being part of the designated episodes so we don't mess with eachother's storyline. It'd also make it easier for us to figure out what to do because it doesn't have to be accurate to the episodes or even make sense in the slightest.
'I mean, I guess...'
Of course, that's just me trying to make it easier for us to get the crossover going. I'm just going to go with whatever Legend chooses.
'Okay.'
