Once again, we were in the creepy portrait room.
"I thought I heard Sparklez say something about a flint and steel," Began Stacy.
"Oh, please don't bring THAT up again!" Stampy grumbled.
Lizzy looked over at Jesse, her face weary.
"Well obviously TorqueDawg didn't steal it," She stated.
"Okay, but who then?" Questioned Dan.
"Uh, Jesse?"
We all turned to see what was up with Lukas. He pointed over to the wall that kept the crossed out portraits. Sparklez's image was right beside TorqueDawg's, crossed out just like his. Next to that, the Ivors' portraits. Of course they were, why wouldn't they be? They both moved forward, their voices and facial expressions utterly unreadable.
"Well, I guess I'm next, then," Muttered the other Ivor.
His voice was sober, much like my Ivor's had been long ago during the trade that started this.
Petra grumbled angrily,"Nope, not happening."
"Don't worry, Ivor, I'll protect you," Said the other Jesse, brows furrowed as he watched everyone carefully.
"I appreciate that, Jesse. I just hope that this 'White Pumpkin' isn't beyond both of our abilities."
"Well," The other Lukas butted in. "I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation for how the White Pumpkin is doing all this. I mean, the whole place has gotta be rigged with traps, right? TorqueDawg- trap. Sparklez- trap," He explained.
"If we can figure out how these traps work, maybe that'll get us closer to finding the killer," Said Midnight, smiling.
Then, the other Order of the Stone wandered back to the doorway of the dining room. Well, besides Midnight, for some reason. She was staring rather intensely at her friends.
"Cool, I'll keep those guys in the hall for now so I can keep an eye on everyone."
"An excellent idea, wouldn't want them messing up the crime scene."
"Guess I'll stay back too," Said Midnight.
"I'm sticking with you, Jesse. Doesn't seem safe to wander off alone."
The other Jesse simply nodded. At last, they entered the room.
"OKAY PEOPLE, CLEAR OUT! THIS IS A CRIME SCENE!"
Midnight sat down, staring blankly at her lap.
'Wait, why are they watching us when they're also suspects?'
Exasperated, I flopped down in a chair. There were an odd amount of seats, more seats than people there.
'Now that I think about it, shouldn't my Lukas and Jesse be in there as well?'
Instead of being in the dining room, Jesse was talking to his friends. Lukas was off in his own world, staring at his awful portrait.
'Also, what's up with Midnight?'
She was still staring at her lap, seemingly in a trance. Or was she asleep? That was possible as well.
Of course, my observations did not answer my questions in the slightest.
Then, I lost myself in another question.
'Where did Whisper go anyway? Probably to get a snack.. no. She apparently likes her tea, but steeping it endlessly for hours? Sounds unlike her.'
Thinking became boring. However, I couldn't really do anything else. I'd mess with the storyline again, this time ruining something for both our worlds. I couldn't sleep, it'd make me vulnerable. I couldn't read.. oh wait, yes I could.
I reached into my inventory and pulled out the admin book. One thing I noticed immediately, the spine looked lengthier than before. However, when I opened it up to the extension, the new pages were completely ripped out. The index was longer too, but all the new chapters' titles were scribbled out. All that remained were the ones that were there originally.
Maybe it was like that before and I simply just hadn't noticed? Doubtful, but still possible.
Nonetheless, I simply opened to where I left off. The part I read didn't quite tell me much, but I wasn't looking for something complicated at the moment. Instead, I was encaptured by the pictures. Florescent blues, pinks, reds, yellows, oranges, purples, all smothered upon pages upon pages of god-like creatures, Admins. They were, oddly enough, beautiful. No matter how much trouble they seemed to create, their figures were sculpted to perfection. Of course, not all met this standard. Not all were perfect creatures, but even those looked simply inhuman. Breathtaking in the least.
Despite that, they were horrid. Desolate beings that got bored and decided to play with their weaker counterparts, and each other. No one was spared from their chaos, not even themselves. I couldn't even imagine being apart of such a disgraceful species.
Now, that was simply untrue. Surely not all of them were bad! And the part of not being able to imagine myself as one of them.. I can still see my changed appearance in the pond for the first time. I looked simply unreal, with dazzling emeralds where my usual eye color usually was. In fact, I can't even remember what I used to look like, now that I think about it.
The Admins are probably just like us. Tired, bored, searching for adventure. Maybe even power-hungry.
"GREETINGS. I, AM THE WHITE PUMPKIN!-"
Everyone scrambled up, rushing through the door. It didn't take long for Jesse to silence everyone… the other Jesse, of course. My group is insignificant now, I suppose. He explained the whole thing, all of us extras just standing uselessly on the sidelines.
"...is a murderer."
Cue the thunder!
"And he sat right… here!"
"Wait, but that's not where Jesse found the button before-!"
"You mean there's more than one?!"
"...I'll see if I can find them all."
The other Lukas went around, stabbing the expensive looking table. He looked oddly mechanical for a second, like he was constantly thinking.
He paused only once.
Midnight had an arrow.
Everyone went to their spots. Lukas went to the end, Midnight went beside him, I went beside her, and lastly, my Lukas went beside me. Everyone looked solemn due to them being either scared or grief-stricken. Of course, it was the former. No one here cared about the deceased, apparently.
The other Jesse took charge, choosing to interrogate them like normal. He gestured to Dan first, who then got dragged mercilessly into the library. Not long after, my Jesse swiftly walked off to join them. Nobody else moved an inch.
Finally, I made the chapter...
'What took you so long?!'
Writer's block. Also, school, laziness, and having other interests as well played a part.
'Okay, well, what now?'
Well, now I have to figure out where I'm going to have to try and take this story. I have no idea what to do in order to not take the attention away from Midnight while still making my side of it interesting. The intense thinking is getting old.
'That sounds rough... have fun with that! Bye!'
I.. Uh, bye-
