(Betsy's New Power)

January 15th, 1907*

*Iv Plains*

The next morning arrived as Rose stepped outside, sipping on her tea, and breathing the fresh morning air.

"I bet that Dorothy girl is on the ground, totally exhausted.." Rose whispered to herself, taking another sip as she thought of this as she eventually began walking toward the rock.

Soon after, Rose found Dorothy on the ground, unconscious by the untouchable rock.

"I knew it. The poor girl passed out due to exhaustion.." Rose spoke once more, looking down at Dorothy as she sighed to herself, relieved that she was okay at least.

Right after this, Rose gently placed her cup down and she picked up Dorothy to carry her back to the home.

"N-Not done..six days…" Dorothy muttered in her sleep, dreaming about moving the rock while Rose smiled.

"Don't worry, you will, but for now, rest.." Rose responded in a gentle voice as she continued to walk toward the cottage.

Soon after, the scene cuts to Rose gently placing Dorothy on the bed, and tucking her in.

"Whew! Glad that's done. That girl could have killed herself. She's truly reckless." Rose spoke in relief, rubbing her forehead while doing so.

"Well, I'm sure she'll wake up in a couple of hours, but I should start cooking breakfast for the others." Rose spoke once more while she walked toward the door and exited the room.

After this, Rose walked across the small hallway, making her way to the kitchen to prepare the food, and to her surprise, Keiko was already there.

Keiko's usual pigtailed hair was gone due to how early in the morning it was, and her long hair was visible for those to see.

"Good Morning, Rose. I figured you'd need some help, right? Let's finish breakfast before the others wake up, okay?" Keiko greeted Rose, smiling at the woman while this surprised her; however, Rose eventually smiled.

"I didn't expect to see you get up this early but yeah, let's cook some breakfast." Rose responded, wrapping an apron around her body, ready to cook.

Soon after, Rose and Keiko proceeded to make preparations to cook breakfast for the others, laying down the eggs, sausages, and milk.

"Rose, do you truly think Dorothy can move the Ozmite rock? I feel like she may or may not move it depending on how motivated she is." Keiko asked Rose, cracking an egg and placing it on the skillet while doing so.

During this, Rose walked over to place some bread in the toaster, hearing Keiko's question in the process as she began to answer it.

"Yes, Dorothy has so much power in her. She's even been kissed by Locasta, granting her protection and power for the rest of her life. And remember, Locasta defeated my sister, Mombi, and became the Good Witch of the North." Rose responded, placing some sausages on the skillet while Keiko nodded.

"Good answer and I personally feel like Dorothy needs to work on her vitality power. If she can find her strength regarding her personality traits, virtues, and everything else, then she can move that rock, but Dorothy is just a disappointment when it comes to that, and I'm going to be honest.." Keiko responded, her tone growing more serious while she gently shook the skillet to cook the eggs, looking a bit more serious.

"I can be harsh but I want people to do their best, and that requires blunt honesty." Keiko continued to speak, looking down at the eggs being cooked as she felt a gentle touch on her shoulder by Rose.

The touch made Keiko smile just slightly as she heard Rose's advice.

"No worries, nothing wrong with that. We all need that one person to whip us into shape." Rose spoke to Keiko, bringing her a sense of relief.

Soon after, Keiko flipped the eggs on the skillet, making sure the eggs were cooked well before turning back to face Rose.

"Thank you for understanding, It means a lot but enough of the sappy crap! Let's continue cooking some good breakfast!" Keiko thanked Rose, feeling proud of herself while Rose nodded with a smile.

"You're right!" Rose responded, feeling the same way as well.

And so, Rose and Keiko continued to cook breakfast for the others, talking amongst themselves until it was time to eat.

*Breakfast time*

The once quiet kitchen was filled with everyone talking amongst themselves, except Dorothy since she was asleep.

"Wow, my friend is quite determined. I admire that about her. Goes to show how far she's willing to protect and get strong for us." Betsy spoke to Keiko, holding a bowl of breakfast in her hand as she ate from it while Flynn nodded in agreement.

"She's right. Who knew Dorothy was out all night trying to move that rock, but at least she's getting the rest she deserves." Flynn chimed into the conversation while Keiko nodded in agreement as well.

"She has spunk, and I have to give it to her." Keiko spoke to Flynn in response, sipping from her cup while gently placing it on the table.

"But moving on, we should focus on when Zorya's next move might be and so far, things aren't progressing as I'm hoping." Keiko spoke once more to the others in a serious voice while Rose nodded in agreement.

"Ever since that nonsense with that girl, It seems the enemy has taken a quieter approach. I just hope they don't take us by surprise, especially since we still don't know what they could be capable of." Rose chimed into the conversation, sipping her tea while thinking about what she just said.

Meanwhile, Betsy, who was listening to everything, stood up, looking determined.

"I-I want to help fight. I'm tired of being the only one who can't do anything. If something like that were to happen, I want to be the one to defend my friends, just like Dorothy." Betsy spoke out, feeling confident as she did so while Keiko and Flynn were surprised at what they heard.

On the other hand, Rose smirked at this, placing her cup of tea down the table.

"So, you want to learn the basics of swordsmith, right? Or do you want to have your style of fighting.." Rose asked Betsy with curiosity in her voice as she waited for an answer.

Soon after, Betsy thought about what she was going to say before eventually deciding on an answer.

"Something in my style. Whether it's a sword or fists. I want to make it my style." Betsy responded, feeling confident in her words while Rose was pleased to hear this.

Following this, Rose got up from the chair and she walked over to the living room, where the cabinet was located.

"Well, I got just the right thing for you, Betsy." Rose spoke to Betsy while she searched the cabinet for whatever she was trying to find for her.

This was proven to be successful as Rose found a pair of blue shoes, they resembled the silver shoes in appearance.

"Betsy put these shoes on and headed outside. We're going to test something out.." Rose spoke to Betsy, showing her the shows in hand, surprising Betsy In the process.

Right after this, Betsy got up from her seat to follow Rose outside and Keiko and Flynn followed her.

Soon after, everyone made out outside and Betsy stood in front of Rose.

"Those shoes, are they powerful? They remind me of Ozma's silver shoes." Betsy spoke in wonder, observing the shoes as she studied their appearance.

"Indeed, that's because these shoes were made by someone whom me and my sister admired, they were also originally my sister's. She gave them to me since she didn't want them. It was about 300 years ago." Rose responded, chuckling at the last part as she remembered that moment clearly.

Of course, this surprised Betsy due to how long ago that was.

"Whoa! I didn't know witches like Mombi or yourself could live that long.." Betsy uttered in surprise while Rose chuckled.

"Well, I'm not a witch like my sister but yeah, certain people just live for long periods in Oz, I bet it's not common for you, Dorothy, and those in your world, but anywho, try on these shoes." Rose responded with a smirk, handing Betsy the shoes while doing so.

Soon after, Betsy nodded, accepting the shoes while putting them on, and they were able to fit her feet perfectly.

"Wow, thanks! They fit quite well! But how do I activate their power or whatever?" Betsy spoke to Rose in an excited voice, checking out the shoes while Flynn and Keiko watched the scene.

"Listen carefully, you press a small button that's located on your left shoe, and that should activate the shoes." Rose responded in a formal voice, hoping that her instructions were clear as she saw Betsy nodding.

Following this, Betsy looked at the left shoe, and she saw a button, Betsy pressed the button and suddenly, she was lifted toward the air.

"W-Whoa!" Betsy cried out in surprise, feeling energy coursing through her body, yellow sparks of lighting appearing from the shoes.

Betsy was in the air and she looked over at the beautiful ocean that wasn't too far from the plains.

"I feel power…good energy..this must be vitality energy that Keiko was talking about to Dorothy.." Betsy thought to herself before she began to use the shoes given to her.

Soon after, Betsy let out a cry as she prepared to deliver a swift kick toward the ocean, yellow energy appearing from the shoes as she soon delivered a swift kick, sending a gust of energy toward the ocean.

The impact of the kick was enough to split the ocean in half, something that made everyone smile in wonder.

"Whoa, such power…" Flynn thought to himself in awestruck while Rose and Keiko watched with smiles on their faces.

"With those shoes, you'll surpass my sister in no time, Betsy. Keep training with those shoes.." Rose thought to herself as she saw the ocean being split in half.

The scene was something from the biblical tale of Moses, and Betsy found that site to be pleasing as she smiled.

"Watch out, Dorothy! Your best friend is going to catch up to you.." Betsy thought to herself, brimming with confidence as she smirked.

Meanwhile, at the cottage, Dorothy slowly rose from her bed, ready to move the rock once more.

"It's time.." Dorothy thought to herself, feeling motivated to move the rock.
