At the factory Aelita, Josh and Jeremy were working on better understanding Xana's Specteres. "So when my father activates a tower, he literally uses only part of his mutli-agent system to manage the tower itself allowing him to control the person on earth and also fight us with his monsters on Lyoko." Josh said, trying his best to explain as much as he knew. "Once you have a tower activated which requires some form of authorization codes, of which I have a copy of my father's, you need to direct the energy somewhere. In the past he has just exited an electrical device near what he wished to affect. " Josh added. "So if we manage to get a tower activated, we in theory could direct the energy and use it to pixelate one of us." Jeremy said. " or to decode Franz Hopper's diary." Aelita said, smiling a bit. "Exactly." Jeremy replied. "It's getting late so we should head back to the dorms." Aeltia said looking at the time on her phone. "Yeah, I will explain activating towers in more detail tomorrow, or at least as much as I can since it must be different activating one from the console then from on Lyoko." Josh said.
The next day….
Outside the infirmary many students from the Lyoko Warriors' class were waiting their turn for their medical check-ups. Ulrch was sitting next to Odd and Julien who was studying a piece of paper. "Hey Julien, you mind telling me what you're studying?" Ulirch asked. "The eye chart. I'm nearsighted, but, I don't want to have to wear glasses! That'd be too lame." Julien said, showing Ulrich the eye chart on the paper. "Oh, you're right. Being blind as a bat sure is a lot more cool!" Ulrich replied, sarcastically before looking over towards Odd. "Holding up the wall, huh, Odd?" Ulrich asked, laughing a bit. "No! Push-ups. Why? Can't you tell?" Odd replied, stopping. "No." Ulrich said amused. "I'm sick of hearing Yolande tell me I'm scrawny." Odd responded. "But you are scrawny." Ulrich replied. "I. Am. Not. Scrawny. I'm…svelte!" Odd snapped back.
Shortly after Sissi walked over and sat down next to Ulrich. "Wanna look over my health record with me?" She asked but continued on talking without him answering. "Look at my weight curve! Just right." She said pushing her health record in front of him. "And my growth curve? Just right." She continued. "Perfection is really wonderful,isn't it?" SHe ended.
Down the hall Aelita, Jeremy and Josh were talking. "You don't understand, Aelita. You don't even have a health record." Jeremy said worriedly, causing Josh to realize something. "Jeremy I don't have one either." Josh stated. "Even worse. And neither of you have been vaccinated. What if the nurse finds out either of you aren't really human?" Jeremy said. "You mean you don't find me very human?" Aelita asked teasingly. "Yeah, sure I do. But… that's not what I meant." Jeremy replied. "Jeremy, relax. If she's human enough that a hospital doesn't ask questions, she will be fine. And I should be as well." Josh said.
Yolanda stepped out of her office, "Alright Jeremie Belpois, Odd Della Robbia and Julien Xao" She said, calling them into her office. All three of them walked into the office for their checkups.
Meanwhile Josh was still talking to Aelita. "So how's the work on your anti-virus going?" Josh asked. "Honestly I don't know. Jeremy hasn't made progress on it in a while. How's the work on freeing yourself from needing the supercomputer?" Aelita asked. "Not well at all. So far I have found that not only am I missing key codes, the fact that I started as a pure multi-agent isn't helping." Josh said with a sigh. "I am sure, you and Jeremy will figure out my anti-virus and your issue as well." Aelita said with a smile.
In Yolande's office, she was checking off with a stethoscope. "You've got the heart of an athlete, Odd. But you look a little skinny to me. Are you sure you're eating enough?" She asked. "BY 'enough' do you mean more then an elephant?" Jeremy answered. "I eat alot." Odd replied. "Ah. In that case, it must be your metabolism that keeps you so scrawny. Ok. Your turn, Julien." Yolande said. "I am not scrawny. I'm svelte." Odd muttered to himself as he walked away. Julien walked up towards the eye chart. "Alright. Read the top line, please" Yolande asked. "Uhhh. A, Q, T, Z!" Julien said quickly. "Jeremy, what do you see on line one, please?" She asked. "H, B, P, V and L" Jeremy replied. "Really, Julien. Not only are you nearsighted, you've got a bad memory too." She said.
On Lyoko, Xana began to activate a tower. In Sector Five, he floated as a red orb in front of an interface, working on stabilizing the flow of energy from the tower and setting up part of his multi-agent to monitor it, preparing his attack.
Back in Yolande's office, Jeremy stepped on to the scale. "Ma'am, is it bad if we forgot to bring our health record, and if we haven't had all our vaccinations?" Jeremy asked. "Well, yes it is. But don't worry- you're completely up to date." She said before telling the three that they could leave the office. "Elisabeth Delmas and Aelita Stones, please." She said into the hall calling the two in. "Not to worry, Einstein. She thought you were human, didn't she?" Odd said messing with Jeremy. "Hilarious." Jeremy murmured before his laptop began beeping. Odd and Jeremy glanced over at Jeremy's bag. They both walked over and Jeremy opened it and pulled out his laptop, and opened it, launching the super scan. "An activated tower." Jeremy said just as Ulrich had ran over to the,. "In the middle of a medical check-up? Xana has no respect for anything." Ulrich said. "Ulrich, stay here and wait for Aelita. Bring her to the factory as soon as she gets out. Josh, Odd and I will heave over there now." Jeremy said. "And hopefully I will get the tower deactivated before anything happens." Josh said, smiling a bit before the three headed off.
Out at the track, Jim was having Yumi and two other students do a hundred-meter sprint. "Hey, quit dawdling. This is a hundred-meter sprint, not a chorus line!" Jim said, looking at his stopwatch. Yumi was on the phone with Jeremy. "Ok, Jeremy. I'll be there as soon as I can." She said hanging up and getting into the starting position. "Go!" Jim yelled, starting his stopwatch. Yumi quickly ran ahead of the other two students making her way past Jim in fourteen and a half seconds. "Yeah! There you go! Someone, at last, is putting their back into it!" Jim said, looking down at the time. "Wow, Yumi! You just broke the school record." he said, impressed before looking down the end of the track. "But.. hey! Yumi!" He said, dropping the stopwatch as he looked down the track and saw the other two students but Yumi was nowhere to be seen.
Meanwhile Sissi was on the scale for her check up. "What?! Oh, your scale must be broken! That's five pounds over!" She said offended. "The scale is perfectly accurate, Elisabeth." Yolande said, writing down the results. "It's Sissi! This is outrageous! I'm going to tell my father!" Sissi said angrily. "I'd run over to his office, if I were you. It might help you lose a few pounds." Yolade replied. "Your turn, Aelita." She added. "I'm really sorry, Ma'am, but I forgot to bring my health record." Aeltia said. "Oh, it's no big deal. I'll just put your results on a separate piece of paper that you can staple into your file later on." Yolande said, sitting at her desk to find some paper to do so. "I should've left my health record at home, too." Sissi said, upset. The lamp at Yolande's desk crackled with purple electricity and a spectre seeped out of it. "But why?" Aelita asked Sissi. "Well, can't you guess? My ultra-perfect weight curve has just been wrecked by these five extra pounds." Sissi replied, still sounding upset. The spectre entered Yolande causing her form to flicker before the eye of Xana appeared in her eyes. "Well you can't tell by looking at you." Aeltia told Sissi.
Outside the office Urlich and the class heard Sissi scream, Ulrich bursted into the room and found Sissi looking terrified pointing out the window. "There! There! The nurse!.. She she she Aelita…" Sissi said having a hard time getting the words out. "Ok, I get the picture." Urlich said before jumping out the window making his way towards the factory, he called Jeremy. "Yolande has been possessed by Xana." Ulrich said running.
"She'll probably try to get to the factory so she can transfer Aelita to Lyoko and then deliver her to the Scyphozoa." Jeremy said as the elevator opened revealing Yumi. "I'll Try and stop her." Ulrich said before hanging up. "Josh you're going to have to try and deactivate the tower, and hopefully we can before Yolande gets here." Jeremy said. "How about we block the elevator, that will buy us some time." Odd said. "Okay, but it's only going to give us five or six minutes, no more." Jeremy said locking the elevator in the down position. "So what do you suggest?" Yumi asked. "Well we could do battle with Yolande.. On equal terms." Jeremy said, looking towards Josh. "Jeremy, you can't be serious." Josh said knowing exactly what he was planning. "What do you mean, equal terms." Yumi asked. "We have been studying Xana's spectres for a while now, and with Josh's help I think I can manage to pixelate you." Jeremy stated. "You mean you're going to turn us into people like the ones possessed by Xana?" Yumi asked. "Instead of being xanafied, we're going to be Jeremified." Odd said "Couldn't that be a bit risky?" Yumi asked. "Extremely." Josh said before Jeremy could say anything. "Jeremy, let's at least try and deactivate the tower before taking drastic steps." Josh said worried. "Fine You three head to the scanners." Jeremy said starting the virtualization process. Odd, Yumi and Josh headed down to the scanner. "Scanner Josh, Scanner Odd, Scanner Yumi. Virtualisation!" Jeremy said virtualizing the trio into the forest sector.
Meanwhile Yolande was walking towards the factory with Aelita over her shoulder. Ulrich called Jeremy, "Jeremy, she's almost at the factory." Ulrich said. "Hold her off as long as you can! Odd, Yumi and Josh are heading for the tower" Jeremy said before Ulrich hung up getting ready to jump her.
"Watch out, Xana sent you some megatanks to try and keep you busy." Jeremy said, giving the group on Lyoko the heads up. "Ah great." Josh said. "Xana must want to play some bowling." Odd said jumping onto his overboard. Yumi got on the overwing and Josh got onto the overbike. "Jeremy we have the monsters and towers insight." Josh said heading towards one of the two megatanks with his sword out. "Josh becareful." Odd said seeing the megatank beginning to charge up. As the megatank fired Josh jumped to the side off the overbike allowing the laser to pass by him as he ran to stab the megatank in its eye of Xana. "Josh watch out!" Yumi yelled, throwing her fan at the other megatank that had also aimed directly at Josh and the first megatank hitting both, devirtualizing Josh and destroying the first megatank. "Jeremy, Josh was just devirtualized." Odd said. "I know, I have never seen Xana use one of his monsters as disposable bait like that. He seems to be learning quickly." Jeremy said.
On the bridge Ulrich managed to knock Yolande down without harming Aelita, who woke up and began to run towards the factory. "Excuse me, Ma'am, but you forgot to give me my check-up. And I remembered to bring my health record and everything." Urlich said as Yolande got up and raised her arm towards Urlich, a sphere of energy forming in her hands. She threw it at Urlich knocking him backwards and onto the ground. Yolande went to pick up Aeltia but noticed her missing, causing her to walk towards the factory and jump to the factory floor.
"Jeremy, how could I have been so stupid." Josh said, coming up the ladder. "Don't be hard on yourself, but it's time for plan B." Jeremy said typing. "Okay, move over and I will configure a tower for our own use." Josh said, walking to the computer. "Okay, and I have the program for the spectre ready." Jeremy said moving out of the way. "We don't have time to forge the proper activation keys to activate the tower from the console, so I am going to be activating using my personal activation keys that my father gave me." Josh said typing then placing his hand flat on the keyboard, using the spectre part of his mutli-agent to enter the access keys to activate the tower. Jeremy watched as Josh looked like he was under some destress.. "Josh you okay?" Jeremy asked as Josh backed away from the computer. "Yes. To activate a tower I have to use my own energy reserves and use part of my own mutli-agent to manage it, since we don't have time to write a program to do so.." Josh said, "Activate the program" He added. "Okay, here goes nothing." Jeremy said activating it, causing a spectre to seep out of the computer and into Josh. "How do you feel?" Jeremy asked. "Fully charged." Josh said having only felt this much power once before.
Back on Lyoko Odd and Yumi managed to destroy the last megatank.
In the factory Aeltia was running towards the corridor after discovering that the elevator was blocked. Yolande walked slowly after her, charging up an energy sphere. Josh went up to the factory floor. And jumped in between Aelita and Yolande as she threw the every sphere. "Father, it's time to have a fair fight." Josh said after he was knocked to the floor and got back up. Josh charged up his own energy sphere and threw it point blank to Yolande. "Aelita, hurry to the lab and get the tower deactivated." Josh said. Urlich limped past Josh and Yolande while they had each other busy. "You're a fool to think you can defeat me." Xana said through Yolande.
Aelita made her way to the lab with Ulrich. "Jeremy start the virtualization process for Ulrich and I. I don't think Josh can last long against Yolande." Aelita said, going down the ladder to the scanners. Meanwhile Yumi and Odd had managed to destroy the other megatank just for Xana to send in two tarantulas, one of them managing to devirtualize Odd. "Scanner Aelita, Scanned Ulrich, Virtualization." Jeremy said as he virtualized the two as close as he could to the tower. Ulrich and Aelita landed not far from the tower. "Aelita, stay back while I help Yumi destroy the tarantulas." Ulrich said, running into the fight.
Back in the factory, Josh was dodging most of the attacks that Yolande threw at him. "You can't keep running." Xana said through her. "Yes, I can." Josh said, throwing an energy sphere at her. 'And I have to, to buy the others more time' he said to himself. "No, No you can't." Xana said through her throwing another energy sphere at him. Josh tried to dodge it but the energy from the activated tower flickered away momentarily allowing the sphere to hit him throwing him backwards.
In the lab the status of the tower began to flicker. "Oh no. What's going on here." Jeremy said to himself, typing before calling up Josh. "Josh, Xana is trying to take over the tower you activated. And there's nothing I can do to stop him." Jeremy said. "Don't worry about me Jeremy. Get the tower controlling Yolande deactivated." Josh said, hanging up before, getting up slowly.
On Lyoko used his super sprint to dodge the laser attacks of the tarantulas before managing to destroy one of them while Yumi managed to destroy the other. "Aelita hurry to the tower, Xana is trying to take control of the tower Josh activated. And I am not sure what he is planning." Jeremy said, noticing that the path was now clear.
In the factory Yolande threw another energy sphere at Josh hitting him again. "Josh, it's over. You can't win." She said, "Soon the tower you activated will be under my control." She added. "Not if I deactivate it first." Josh said, pulling out his phone to call Jeremy. "Jeremy, I need you to connect your phone to the supercomputer. I am going to deactivate the tower I activated." Josh said, pain in his voice. "Okay, give me a second." Jeremy said, grabbing a cable from the side of the interface and connecting his phone. "Okay, its connected." Jeremy said. "NO!" Yolande yelled, throwing an energy sphere at Josh destroying his phone sending him flying backwards. "Josh? Josh?" Jeremy asked before the call ended.
Aelita was running into the tower heading up to the top platform. She placed her hand on the interface and it said her name before saying Code: Lyoko. "Okay Jeremy the tower is deactivated." Aelita said.
Jeremy watched as the tower Josh had activated went fully under Xana's control. "Xana has control of the tower Josh activated." Jeremy said worried. "Is Xana going to take control of Josh?" Ulrich asked. "No, at least I don't think so, the spectre we created cannot be used for control. It seems like he is just trying to absorb all of Josh's energy." Jeremy said typing more. "You mean until he…." Yumi asked trailing off. "Yea…" Jeremy said. "Jeremy, I am going to try and find Josh." Odd said before climbing up the ladder out of the lab. "You guys have to get to the tower Josh activated in the ice sector." Jeremy said locating a way tower. "There is a way tower not far from you to the north." He added.
Aelita, Ulrich and Yumi hurried towards the way tower. They entered it and soon exited in the ice sector. "The tower should be right in front of you." Jeremy said to them. "We can see it, Xana doesn't even seem to be putting up a fight." Ulrich said not seeing any monsters.
Meanwhile Odd found Josh lying motionless on the ground. "Josh you okay?" Odd asked trying to shake him awake. Odd pulled out his phone and called Jeremy. "I found Josh, he's alive but isn't moving and won't wake up." Odd said worried. "Aelita, hurry to the tower, Josh is going downhill fast." Jeremy said. In Josh's mind Xana's voice boomed. "Face facts Josh, you and your new friends will die at my hand." Xana said. 'No. No we won't" Josh yelled back at him, murmuring the words in his passed out state. . "And even if they deactivate the tower and save you, I have already destroyed the part of your multi-agent that was controlling the tower" Xana stated. "In addition to slowly draining all your energy." He added laughing.
On Lyoko Aelita ran for the tower, before a laser shot out towards her. "Aelita! Watch out!" Ulrich said using his super sprint to quickly get between her and the blok that had been hiding. Yumi threw her fan at the blok destroying it. Aelita ran into the tower and went up to the top interface, she put her hand on it and deactivated the tower.
"Jeremy, you should activate a return to the past." Odd said worried about Josh. "No, don't" Josh said weakly. "But Josh your seriously hurt." Odd insisted. "I will be fine, I just need a bit of time to rest. You guys better get Yolande back to the campus before she wakes up" Josh said. "Jeremy, Josh said he's fine, and to not do a return to the past." Odd said seeing Yolande on the ground not far from Josh. "Can get Ulrich to the underground area with the water, we need to get Yolande back to the campus before she wakes up" Odd said.
"Okay." Jeremy said typing. "Devirtualization Ulrich, Devirtualization Yumi." Jeremy said as he devirtualized them. "Aelita ready to use Code: Earth?" Jeremy asked."Yes, Go ahead" Aelita said standing in the middle of the tower. "Okay Code: Earth" Jeremy said, activating the program to devirtualize Aelita.
By the time Ulrich had gotten to help move Yolande, Josh was up on his feet still weak but doing much better. Ulrich and Odd picked up Yolande and started to carry her to the campus infirmary.
Back in the infirmary Sissi was talking to Jim and Delmas. "Yolande turned into this weird, super-scary demon and jumped out of the window! That's what happened!" Sissi said pointing at the window. "Reminds me of when I worked at a psychiatric hospital!" Jim said, rubbing his chin. "You worked in a psychiatric hospital?" Delmas asked. "I'd rather not talk about it." Jim said. "But it's the truth, I tell you!" Sissi said annoyed. "Listen, Sissi dear, stop this nonsense and tell me what really happened!" Delmas said, also annoyed.
Ulrich and Odd walked in carrying Yolande. "Why don't you ask Yolande?" Ulrich asked, setting her down on one of the beds. A short while later Yolande woke up. "Mrs. Perraudin wasn't feeling very well, so she went out for some air!" Aelita said, coming up with a lie. "Out the window?" Delmas asked in disbelief. "Uh… Yes, of course! Why not?" Aeltia replied. "Is that really what happened, Yolande?" Delmas asked. "Well, uh, yes, I…I mean… I don't really remember. It's as though I blacked out. But I don't see why Aelita would want to lie." She answered, holding her head slightly.
The group left the infirmary and exited the building heading towards the commons. "Nice one, Aelita! You were perfect!" Jeremy said. "You know, anybody that lies that well could only be…human. Right, Jeremie" Odd said jokingly laughing with Ulrich. "Aelita and Jeremy…. I need to talk with you guys. Preferably alone." Josh said strain still in his voice. "Sure thing Josh. Let's head back to the factory after lunch." Jeremy said and Aelita nodded in agreement.
After lunch Josh, Aelita and Jeremy were back at the factory in the lab. "So Josh, what did you want to talk to us about?" Aelita asked worried that he was still not well after the attack earlier. "When my father took over the tower I activated earlier, he he destroyed the part of my multi-agent I used to maintain the tower, and also drained most of my energy before you managed to deactivate the tower." Josh said. "Josh… What does that mean?" Aelita asked. "Josh, I can activate a return to the past. It should help." Jeremy said. "No, no it won't since the state of my mutli-agent is logged in the super computer, much like yous to prevent a return from affecting my memory." Josh stated, sitting down on the holo system's edge. "How is this going to affect you?" Jeremy asked, worried seeing his state still deteriorating. "I don't know, I think I just need to rest and try and absorb some energy from somewhere, I should be able to rebuild them" Josh said before falling down holding onto the holo-system. "Josh!" Aelita gasped rushing to his side. "I will be fine." Josh said "I am going to try and absorb energy from the super computer." Josh added touching his hand to the computer and using the spectre part of his multi-agent to absorb energy. "Josh, there has to be something we can do." Aeltia said by his side. "No… I just need rest." Josh said his form going fussy like a damaged spectre for a moment. "I am fine." He said getting up slightly. "I am going to go back to my dorm room and rest." Josh said. "Josh, wait, What if we virtualize you to lyoko and get you to a tower?" Jeremy asked. "That would work, but you can't I got devirtualized from losing my life points, my virtual envelope has to be rebuilt by the super computer and that takes time." Josh said, starting to limp towards the elevator.
Once Josh had left Jeremy and Aelita continued to talk. "Jeremy, Josh has to be alright… He just has to be." Aelita said worried and having the feeling of not wanting to be the only artificial intelligence living on earth. "Aelita, I am sure he will be. We just have to trust him." Jeremy said typing, on the computer. "In the meantime I am going to work on making a program that will be able to monitor and control an activated tower so this can never happen again, if we need to activate one." Jeremy added.
Hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Btw I removed the part of Sissi confronting them at the end since I really didn't like that part of the episode. I hope to have the next chapter out within a month or less.
