Jeremy and Aelita were in the lab working on Aelita's anti-virus. The elevator activated and Josh walked out. "How is it going, you two?" Josh asked, still limping a tiny bit. "Not so well." Aelita said, noticing Josh's limp. "Josh it's been almost a week since you activated that tower. Are you sure you're okay?" Aelita asked."Yea, I am fine. I am still trying to re-establish the missing parts of my multi-agent. Unfortunately, it's a very slow process without my father's power. " Josh said. "Makes sense, even the simplest multi-agent requires a great amount of power." Jeremy said typing still.
Meanwhile in the courtyard Sissi was reading a newspaper with Nicolas and Herb around her. "A horrible tragedy may explain the rumor that there's a ghost somewhere at the Kadic academy. Back in 1905, while the building was under construction, one of the workers – Leon Courbet – is said to have been buried alive under the foundations!" Sissi said, reading the article out loud. "Huh?" Herb said not paying much attention. "In the Boiler room area, to be precise!" She continued. "Heh, now do you believe me?" Nicolas said. "Get real." Herb replied as the bell rang.
In the classroom, Mrs. Meyer was handing out graded papers. "Emilie, seventy-seven. Good work. Jeanne, eighty-seven, very good! Elisabeth…a quadrilateral is not a quadrant you do later. Ten" ,She said, handing them their papers. "Jeremie, I deducted two points for the ketchup stain on your diagram. Ninety-eight. Josh Seventy-Nine." She continued, "Huh?" Jeremy said, looking up. "Ulrich…there's some good, but not enough to make up for what's bad. Fifty-eight" She said as she continued handing out papers. Ulrich looked disappointed, picking up his paper looking at it. "Herb, ninety-three. Excellent." She said handing out the last paper. A folded paper fell onto Ulirch's desk. He picked it up and read it. "Meet me in the boiler room at midnight? Sissi?" He said quietly while reading it. He turned and looked towards Sissi and She smiled back.
After class Jeremy was talking with Josh. "Josh, are you sure you are fine? You didn't do very well on the test and I know you could easily get a hundred." Jeremy said. "You know I am not fine. I am my multi-agent, it's like part of my mind… Jeremy think of it this way. What if someone took part of your brain… Would you be fine?" Josh ask. "Well…. No." Jeremy replied worried. "Josh, does this mean your missing memory as well?" Jeremy asked. "No, I purposefully didn't use any of my multi-agent that contained my memory to control the tower." Josh said. "Now I could re-purpose parts of my multi-agent that do other things to help with my ability to do calculations but at the moment that's not something I care about." Josh added.
Later that night after everyone was asleep at midnight. Ulrich got up and opened the down and walked to the boiler room door before knocking. "Password?" Sissi asked from the other side. "Uh.. you didn't give me one." Ulrich answered confusedly. "Correct! Come in." Sissi said, opening the door. Sissi walked with Ulrich leading him into the boiler room where a pentagram was painted in red on the floor with candles on its outer ring. "Isn't this a bit square for you?" Ulrich asked. "It's not a square! It's a tepogram!" Sissi said. "Pentagram" Herb corrected. "Oh, whatever! Thanks to this and my psychic powers, I'm going to conjure up the spirit of that poor Leon Courbet! I'm sure if we communicate with him, he can finally rest in peace!" Siss said, walking Ulrich into the pentagram. "I can't wait to see this." Ulrich said in a mocking tone. "Ok, now stand inside the pentagon with me. We will bring together our ping and pong energy…then summon up the dead man's ghost!" Sissi stated. "You know what? I think you forgot the paddles! " Ulrich said laughing. Sissi frowned and grabbed his arm pulling them into the middle of the pentagram. "And now, let the ceremony begin!" Sissi said. "De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae! De profundis tenebrae!" Nicolas and Herb chanted. "I summon you… Leon Courbet!" Sissi said Just then on Lyoko a tower activated, one of the electric panels near the furnace arced with electricity and a spector entered the furnace. Nicolas and Herb stopped chanting, hearing something moving. They all heard a eerie moan and the boiler door closed. "Yes, Leon? I'm listening." Sissi stated, initially nothing happened but then the boiler door burst open and the spectre jumped out onto the floor as a sort of ooze before taking a humanoid form with four tentacle arms and a large mouth. Nicolas and Herb ran out the door screaming while Ulrich and Sissi stayed behind in the pentagram. "Don't step out of the pentathlon, Ulrich. It protects us." She said to Ulrich before turning to the spectre. "Uh? Loen Courbet?" She asked. The spectre charged directly towards them before just disappearing. "Darn it, he's gone. He doesn't want to speak to me." She said disappointed before seeing it behind Ulrich. "Behind you!" She yelled.
The spectre waved around its arms before attempting to take a bite at Ulrich, but he managed to jump out of the way. Sissi stood still screaming. "Let's go! Quick!" Ulrich said, grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the door. Once they were out Ulrich shut the door and pushed a set of lockers in front of it. "Come on." Ulrich said, grabbing her hand heading for the dorms.
In the dorm hallways Nicolas and Herb were talking at the same time trying to explain things to Jim. "Let me tell him! No, it's true, I mean" Herb was saying, stumbling over his words. "It was horrible, Jim really! I swear, it's true!" Nicolas said. "Come on, you two. Calm down" Jim said/ "The ghost of Leon Courbet came after us in the boiler room, Jim." Herb explained. "If anyone's after you two, it's a gym teacher in a tracksuit, holding a red pen, which he's going to use to give you four hours of detention!" Jim said getting out a pen and a paper pad. Ulrich looked in through a window in the door, "we'd better go upstairs, fast." Ulrich said to Sissi.
Ulrich opened his room door. "Sissi, you'd better go back to your room." Ulrich said. "No! Don't leave me all by myself! Please?" Sissi said scared. "Alright alright. Comein, then. Wait for me here. I'll be back." Ulrich said before closing the door. Odd woke up and sat up from all the noise. "Am I dreaming or what?" Odd said looking over and seeing Sissi. "I'm scared, Odd. Mind if I sit near you?"She asked. "It's just a nightmare, and soon I'm gonna wake up." He stated before falling back onto his pillow.
Ulrich when to Jeremy's room and shook him awake., "Jeremy wake up. I think that Xana is attacking." Ulrich said. "UH, the laptop" Jeremy said, sitting up and grabbing his glasses. "We'll find out in a minute." Jeremy said after Ulrich handed him his laptop and he started the superscan but it detects nothing. "Nope! There are no activated towers." Jeremy stated. "It looks like we've got a real ghost on our hands, then" Ulrich replied. "A what?" Jeremy asked.
Meanwhile Jim was patrolling the halls when he heard movement behind him, he turns around and there was noone, he continued walking and heard it again. "Someone around here s going to be in real trouble!" Jim said angrily, turning around seeing no one. Before suddenly he was pulled off his feet, getting pulled up into the air.
Meanwhile Sissi had been explaining to Odd what had happened. "So, Leon's ghost came out of the boiler, and…and he was so ugly that even Nicolas and Herb started screaming!" She said scared. Before both Odd and Sissi, Urlich and Jeremy heard Jim screaming as he was struggling in mid air. They all walked out of their rooms. The screaming also awoke Josh.
Once Sissi saw Jim in mid-air and screamed, causing the spectator to drop Jim to the ground before she ran away. "You okay,Jim?" Odd asked helping him up. "Yeah.. Yeah, I'm alright." Jim said. A eerie moan was heard down the hall just as Josh walked out of his dorm. "What's that noise?" Ulrich asked. "I don't know, but it's getting closer." Odd said worriedly. "What's going on?" Josh asked, rubbing his eyes before Odd was suddenly yanked down the hallway by his ankle, screaming. "ODD!" Ulrich yelled, grabbing his hand before being pulled down the hall.
Jeremy grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran towards them before spraying the area just past Odd's ankle causing the spectre's body to flicker into view momentarily while also letting Odd go. "You saw right. The monster did pixelate when I hit it." Jeremy said. "It's gotta be one of Xana's" Odd said. "So why didn't the Superscan pick it up?" Ulrich asked. "I wish I knew. We'd better head for the factory. Let's get Aelita." Jeremy stated as they all went to go get her.
While Jeremy was getting Aelita, Ulrich called Yumi. "Hello?" Yumi asked answering her phone. "It's me. There's a big emergency. Meet us at the factory." Ulrich said. "Got it." Yumi said getting up.
Meanwhile Jeremy had woken up Aelita. "Jeremy?" She asked, rubbing her eyes. "Aelita," Jeremy answered before suddenly floating up into the air before being slammed down onto the ground. He struggled against the spectre that was attempting to choke him. "Jeremy!" Aeltia screamed, causing Ulrich and Odd to rush in. Ulrich flicked off the lights and the spectre became visible. As Jeremy continued to struggle Ulrich grabbed a ruler off Aelita's desk and stabbed the spectre causing it to flicked a bit before disappearing. Jeremy got up a bit shaky. "Come on, lets get to the factory." Ulrich said motioning for everyone to go. They all headed towards the forest passage to the factory.
At the factory Yumi had been waiting for them. "What took you guys so long?" Yumi asked. "Xana's specter has been attacking us, but the superscan didn't pick up anything." Jeremy said heading over to the computer. "So do you believe in ghosts?" Ulrich asked Yumi. "No?" She replied. "Wrong answer." Ulrich responded. Jeremy types on the supercomputer before finding the issue. "That's weird. Xana managed to corrupt the superscan their is an activated tower, but it can't detect it." Jeremy said still typing. "So what do we do know?" Josh asked. "Yumi and Aelita your going to search the forest and desert sectors, Josh, Ulrich and Odd your search the ice and mountain sectors, with any luck one group will find the tower while I work on fixing the superscan." Jeremy said starting up the Virtualization progress. "Negative, the spectre will probably strike back soon, I am staying with you." Ulrich said. "Well…. Okay." Jeremy replied, "okay Yumi and Aelita you two are going to be first then Odd and Josh" Jeremy continued. Aelita, Yumi, Odd and Josh headed down to the scanners. Aelita and Yumi got into them. "Scanner Aelita, Scanner Yumi, Transfer Aelita, Transfer Yumi, Virtualization." Jeremy said to himself as he virtualized them. "Okay Odd and Josh, its your turn." He said. "Scanner Odd, Scanner Josh Transfer Odd, Transfer Josh, Virtualization" He said finishing the virtualization. "I am sending you all your vehicles" Jeremy said, virtualizing Yumi and Aelita the Overwing and Josh and Odd the Overbike and Overboard, before going back to trying to work on the superscan. In the forest sector Aelita and Yumi took off the check for all the towers in the sector. In the mountain sector Josh and Odd did the same.
Shortly after the spectre jumped down from the rafters and maked its way towards Urlich and Jeremy. "Jeremy…" Ulrich said getting his attention. "What do we do?" Jeremy asked a bit scared. "Come on." Ulrich said heading towards the ladder, Jeremy followed him, the spectre not far behind. As they ran across the boiler room Jeremy glanced back and saw the spectre. "There's no point running, he'll catch us every time!" Jeremy said worried and breathless. "You go a better idea?" Ulrich asked as they ran up a staircase.
On Lyoko, Aelita and Yumi had finished sweep the whole forest sector and went into a way tower to start checking the desert. While Odd and Josh had finished sweeping the mountain sector and moved on to the ice sector.
Back in the factory Ulrich was hiding behind a control terminal in on of the abandoned control rooms in the factory while Jeremy was sitting behind another. The spectre came thru the door and moved directly towards where Jeremy is before hoping over the terminal and infront of Jeremy. "Ulrich! I wouldn't mind a little help right now." Jeremy said freaking out. Ulrich grabbed to energized cables off the ground and jammed them into the spectre, causing it to flicker and let out a low scream, electricity flickering across it before it disappears. "Man.. He was a tough one." Ulrich said helping Jeremy up. "Let's get back to the Lab. The other's probably need us." Jeremy said.
Back on Lyoko Odd noticed a tarantula walking in the direction him and Josh were heading. "Hm… Where there's smoke…" Odd said, swooping down to follow the tarantula, Josh not far behind.
Meanwhile Yumi and Aelita had finished their sweep on the desert sector. "Jeremy, the forest and desert sectors are clear. " Yumi said. "Jeremy?" Aelita asked. "Jeremy?!" "Ulrich and Jeremy must have had to leave the computer. We should head to the mountain and see if we can find Odd and Josh" Yumi said.
At the tower a second tarantula was waiting and began to shoot at them both. "Odd distract them and I will swoop in and deactivate the tower." Josh said. "I will give it my best shot." Odd said shooting at the two. Both turned towards him and started to shoot while Odd swooped down and landed behind the tower and went to enter it. As he tried to enter it he hit the tower like a solid object. "Oh no…. Jeremy? We have a bit of a problem." Josh said just as one of the tarantula's noticed him and started shooting him while he was distracted by being unable to enter the tower, devirtualizing him. Odd saw Josh get devirtualized and headed back towards the tower, the first tarantula still shooting at him.
In the scanner room Josh got out of the scanner and headed up to the lab before sitting at the computer. "Yumi, Aelita?" Josh asked. "Josh? Did you guys find the tower?" Aeltia asked. "Yes, its in the south-west corner of the ice sector, Odd is still on Lyoko" Josh answered. "Where's Jeremy and Ulrich?" Yumi asked. "I don't know. They must have had to run from the spectre. I will go see if I can find them." Josh said getting up heading towards the elevator.
In the main area of the factory the spectre jumped down in front of Jeremy and grabbed a hold of him. Ulrich stopped in his tracks and turned around. "Don't panic, I will get you out of there." Ulrich said as Jeremy was screaming being held in the air. Ulrich got ready and kicked the spectre causing it to flicker slightly before it laughed demonically at his attempt at freeing Jeremy. Ulrich backed up, grabbed a pipe off the ground and went to stab the spectre like he had with a ruler earlier, but the spectre grabbed a hold of the pipe and ripped it from his hands before grabbing him and lifting him into the air as well.
Meanwhile on Lyoko, Yumi and Aelita were on the way to the ice sector using a way tower, while Odd was trying to fight the tarantulas. While he was flying towards them they began to fire rapidly around him, causing him to leap off his overboard and start shooting laser arrows at that, one of them hittings its mark and destroying one of the tarantulas, as the other tarantula devirtualized Odd, his overboard slamming into the tower being destroyed.
In the factory, Josh had gone up the elevator and saw the spectre holding both Jeremy and Ulrich. "I am going to try something!" Josh said running towards the spectre trying to reach to touch it, as he did so he used the spectre codes in his multi-agent to try and disrupt the spectre. Unfortunately this plan backfired and the spectre punched Josh backwards hard causing him to slam against a support and fall to the ground out cold.
Back on Lyoko Yumi and Aeltia approached the tower on the overwing setting down a bit from the tower. "Aelita, run for the tower." Yumi said, running towards the tarantula before throwing her fans at it. The tarantula shot one of the fans in mid air while the other hit its leg. Aelita was just getting to the tower when the tarantula turned and looked at here before running back towards Yumi and shooting her,seeming mad that Aelita had gotten to the tower. Aelita floated up the top platform and deactivated the tower.
In the factory Jeremy and Ulrich fell to the ground as the spectre dissipated under them. "Josh you okay?" Jeremy asked. Josh, still out cold, didn't answer. Ulrich and Jeremy quickly ran over to him, shaking him awake. "Everything hurts…" Josh said slowly getting up. "Lets get down to the lab. We are going to need to launch a return to the past." Jeremy said heading for the elevator.
Once down in the lab, Jeremy re-materialized Aelita and the group was standing around the holo-shpere system. "I am going to launch a return to the past, since there is no way Sissi or Jim are going to forget about the attack. And I will have to work with Josh tomorrow to fix the superscan, since a return to the past can't affect the supercomputer itself." Jeremy said typing. "Return to the past now!"
The return brought them back to around lunch time that day, where Ulrich and Odd agreed to scare Sissi and her group when she tried to contact spirits later that night.
Okay. Welp thats another chapter. So you will noticed quite a few changed between the show and my chapter. The biggest being that they did not head to sector five in this chapter, thats because in the episode "Common Interest" Jermey was able to work on debugging the superscan from the computer and didn't require anyone going to sector five to do so. So I decided why would he need to for this attack.
I have plans for the next few chapters.
