Random95: This version of Superboy doesn't follow any of the previous cannon versions in DC comics, he's more of an OC character that I'm working with.
Thank you for the support in the first chapter, let us move on to the second, shall we?
Kon kept his head down and pushed the glasses onto his face further as he made his way through the packed city of Musutafu in Japan. Though he made sure to push the hood up over his head, keeping his face as hidden as possible. This wasn't something he would need to do in most places around the world but within the heart of Japan, despite how accepting of other people the country is, you wouldn't find many white people as well-built as him wandering around the city on their own and not with some tour group.
His identity was never kept a secret from the public, but that didn't mean that he wanted to get swarmed by people which has happened many times throughout his life. This led to both his mom and dad being taught how important and useful it was to have methods of keeping himself secret by hiding in plain sight. Thankfully he didn't need to do this all day because he had no intention of hiding his identity from his future classmates, knowing full well that doing so would just create some unnecessary drama.
He'd been walking for twenty minutes or so, he could have flown to the U.A. building and been there in a couple of seconds but he wanted to get a feel for the city he would be living in for the next few years. It was a good trip and he got a good feel for the city during the trip, there was suddenly a sound louder than most others around him and he quickly turned his head to see a large banner of black with a silver symbol of his family that hanging down from a skyscraper being slowly taken down.
He stayed still and watched as the banner was lowered towards the ground where a crew was rolling it up before it could cover the street and road. There was a sad smile as he watched it happen, it was around the time now. It's been over three months since he died, and he could still make up a handful of different people who still walked the streets wearing the armbands.
He didn't.
He knew that some people would expect him to wear it the longest, but he didn't need to, he mourned his dad's death his own way. He still was, it was a rough couple of weeks after the funeral and he had a handful of breakdowns where he just stayed still and cried, his mom did the same thing. Of course, she took time off from the League, which she was now the leader of. There were a handful of repeats of the same night as the funeral, where they ended up falling asleep weeping into each other's arms. It was still hard of course but most of the pain was gone now.
Kon continued to walk through the city until he came across a large building surrounded by a small forest that acted as the main building of U.A. It had a large base building that was two stories high, each corner held a tower that went up by another six stories from what he could see, and each tower was connected by a bridge halfway up. He wasn't surprised to see another black and silver banner held up in between the two front towers that didn't look like it was going to be taken down any time soon. It was pretty clear that not just U.A but the other hero academies as well would show their respect for Superman the longest.
He made his way to the entrance and wasn't surprised to see a small statue of Superman standing in front of the main entrance to the building, on either side of the path heading towards the doors going in. He made out six different head busts of heroes, some he recognized, some he didn't.
He didn't pay them much mind anyway as he entered the academy, as expected there was a lobby with a reception desk. He could see many dressed in school uniforms walking around doing their own thing, though it was hard to notice that all of them wore black armbands. He walked towards the desk, taking off his classes and bringing his hood down as he did so. A woman with deer-like horns on her head looked up from her computer as he approached, he could see her eyes widened ever so slightly but she was quick to put them under control.
So she and the other members of staff no doubt knew who he was and that he would be coming here "Hello, I'm Kon-El. I'm here to pick up my schedule" he said.
"Of course, Mr. El" she smiled as she started to type away on her computer. Kon waited patiently as she did so, but he started to notice that the volume of the lobby started to get lower and lower, glancing around he could see that many of the students stopped talking and starred at him, at least many tried to seem like they weren't starring at him. Which was nice 'So, not everyone was told I was coming here' he thought to himself, it made sense. Why would the students be told about him being here? The sound of the printer being turned on brought his attention back forward towards the woman who handed him what seemed to be a schedule "Here you are Mr. El" she said standing up as he looked at it "This will contain all you need to know about this institution and were you need to be. You have been placed within class 1-A and it begins in twenty. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the number on the contacts page or drop by and speak to me or my colleague directly and please, welcome to U.A" she finished with a small bow.
"Thank you very much" Kon said with a smile himself and a small bow as he turned and started to make his way towards the directions that were laid out for him towards the hero course classrooms. The door behind him didn't even close before he heard a lot more excited chatter from behind him, he let out a small sigh as he made a mental note to prepare for a crowd in front of the school in the next few days.
He walked down the corridors of the school and noted that it didn't seem too different from any other school he'd been to before, a lot of bright colours painted the walls, some motivational posters spread about the place, large windows, etc. It only took him a couple of minutes to reach what he was looking for, one of the first things that he noted was that the door was really big. He figured that was for those who had Quirks that made them bigger than others, he's seen a lot of those already.
He took a final breath before he stepped forward and opened the door, though he was surprised to see that the room was mostly empty when he stepped in. No teacher and only three other students were present. He stepped in and took a moment to look at each of them, they looked like they were spread out of the room. Two boys, one girl so far, he imagined that it would fill up quickly over the next couple of minutes.
The smaller of the two boys was sitting near the back of the calls which consisted of rows of chairs, the large scar over his eyes was the most noticeable feature about him, followed closely by his hair which was half red and half cold, no way that didn't have anything to do with his Quirk. Sitting a row ahead of him and to his right was the girl who held a large sharp ponytail and was clearly more developed than most based on how the buttons of her shirt seemed to be tightly pulled. All presents were wearing the same black armbands as the other students.
The second boy was marching towards him with a determination that Kon hadn't seen in a while, it was really shocking when he stopped in front of him "Good morning, my name is Tenya Ida. It's a pleasure to meet you" he said in what Kon was sure was meant to be a polite greeting but the sheer forcefulness through him off for a moment.
"Oh err…. It's nice to meet you too" he said bringing his hand up for shaking but stopping when he gave him a small bow instead, causing them both to stop halfway through when they realised what the other was doing "Oh haha" he laughed awkwardly for a moment before Kon lowered his hand and bowed himself "Sorry, I'm still getting used to the customs. I'm Kon" he added.
Tenya smiled calmly at him "Oh, it's not a concern, I must say you speak Japanese well. Where are you…. Sorry what did you say your name was?" he asked with a suddenly dead serious tone of voice as he looked at him like he just grew a second head.
Kon smiled hiding the annoyance he felt about knowing what was about to happen "It's Kon, Kon-El" he said again, this time with his last name included just wanting to get it all out of the way now. When he said that it was easy to see both the other's eyes widen as they stared at him. The boy was able to calm himself down quickly enough, but the girl's mouth dropped and looked like she wanted to stand up to greet him but didn't know if that would be too much.
The one in front of him Tenya, his eyes widened to the point that they looked like they were about to pop out his head and he quickly straightened his back, snapped his arms to his side and bowed his head so quickly that he looked like he was about to hit the ground "IT IS A TRUE HONOUR TO MEET YOU!" yelled at him "I heard the rumours that you would be attending U.A but I didn't but any stock in them! I very much look forward to being your classmate and working with you for the next three years!" he shouted.
Kon took a step back in shock at this declaration and took a moment to calm himself down, all of which Tenya remained in place "Err…. Thank you?" he said as he looked towards the others who seemed to be torn between trying not to look at him and looking at him as a means of being friendly "so just sit anywhere?" he asked them.
The boy with the scar just gave him a shrug and the girl spoke for the first time "I believe so" she said but didn't sound too sure of herself "I mean, it's what we all did. There's a chance of a seating plan but…... well" she trailed off not knowing what to say next.
"Great" he smiled as he looked towards a chair right in front of a window near the wall "I'll just….." he pointed at the chair before moving though he stopped when he saw Tenya was still locked in place "You don't need to do that, you can just treat me like everyone else. No need to freak out or do any of…. That" he gestured to his posture which seemed to snap him out of it as he stood up and pushed his glasses forward onto his face.
He looked like he wanted to say something else to him, but the door opened again, and someone else stepped in. He seemed to forget about him for a moment as he turned to a pink-skinned girl who walked in. Kon reached the desk, took off his jacket, placed it on the back of his chair, and sat down.
There was nothing of note to happen over the next couple of minutes, some more students came in. Tenya greeted them with the same gusto that he did Kon and their reaction was similar to his own, the main difference being how they reacted when they greeted the others. Like himself, they didn't do much more than nod in his direction though based on the handful of second and third glances towards him as they sat down, followed by wide eyes that let him know who recognized him and who didn't.
Two boys, one with sharp spiky red hair and about with black hair that had large bumps where his elbows would normally be and one of the girls, who looked like they had an earphone jack dangling from her ears seemed to be able to two who he was. Three he had no idea because one wearing a light blue mask around his face, a bundle of clothes that floated in the air around an invisible body and someone with a literal bird head.
The rest he assumed didn't figure it out yet, or if they did, they were doing a good job of hiding it or just didn't care, both of which he was ok with. Since things seemed to quiet down as some started talking to each other while others just sat in silence, he was the latter as he looked out the window and waited for everything to start.
Nobody tried to talk to him, and he didn't have a problem with that. At least until someone tried to cause a problem before the first lesson could even start "What's the big idea with you huh!?" a loud voice said from in front of him, someone was sitting directly in front of him. He was the same age as him with blonde spiky hair, he was leaning back in his chair with his feet kicked up on the chair, half turned in his seat to stare at him. The look of anger was clear enough and the intensity of it surprised him.
"Excuse me?" he asked with a look of surprise.
"What? You think you're too good to show your dam support" he snarled as he turned his arm and showed Kon his own black armband "Like those fucking business, already taking down the banners. If you really wanted to be a hero, you'd show your respect for at least a year like the rest of us!" he shouted, it went without saying that everyone in the class turned to look at them. Those who knew who he was slightly cringed at the sight while those who didn't looked on with interest, most likely not completely agreeing with all the shouting but also wanted to know why he wasn't wearing the armband.
As he heard what was said, the confusion Kon felt slipped away "I mourned him in my own way, and you can trust me when I say that an armband is not how he would want you to honour him" he explained as best as he was able. It was true that his dad would think all the armbands were sweet of people but there was a reason both Kon, his mom, Aunt Cathy, Uncle J'onn and even All Might didn't wear the bands. Those who knew him would know that an armband was not what he would have wanted.
The blonde let out a laugh "Oh really, so you do think you know better than everyone else. Fucking loser!" he brought up his hand, letting out some small explosions as he did so. Most likely trying to intimidate him.
He almost laughed when he sat it, without Kon even noticing. His hand started to clench into a fist. Later he would ask Tenya if he thought a fight was about to break out and if that was why he acted when he did he swears that he was going to step forward to stop him just because but when he saw where his feet were, he completely forgot about the situation and moved on instinct "Get your feet off the desk this instant" he said leaning down to look at the blonde.
"Huh?" the blonde said with a smirk as he quickly turned to look at Tenya.
"It's the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin" he said with narrowed eyes as he looked towards the blonde who seemed to completely forget about Kon for a moment.
"Ha, you're kidding me, right?" he laughed "your old school put a stick up your ass? Or were you born with it?"
Kon turned away from the two of them as they went back and forth, getting a pretty good idea of both of their personalities. Of course, the entire class looked at them as well in silence though it was worth noting that it wasn't full just yet. As the thought entered Kon's mind, the door to the class opened and Tenya turned to look, his eyes widening before he turned to face it. Kon and everyone else turned to look as well "It's him" Tenya said as a smaller boy with green hair stood in the doorway.
Though he froze up and found the ceiling really interesting when everyone starred at him "Huh Hi" was all he said as he tried not to blush.
"Good morning" Tenya added as he walked towards him. He was clearly okay with leaving the blonde and greeting this new guy the same way he did everyone else. "My name is Tenya Iida fro…." he started as he marched towards him.
"Yeah, I… I know" he said back causing the glasses wearer to stop in his tracks "I'm Izuku Midoriya" he introduced himself "It's super nice to meet you"
Tenya suddenly turned dead serious "Midoriya. You realised that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you?"
Kon only half listened to the conversation that took place between the two and returned his gaze to the window. The sun was on full display now and he closed his eyes for a moment, allowing it to fill him completely. If it was quieter and he was less distracted by everything around him, he could feel the light power his muscles, skin, senses and cells. Though he's only been able to do that once before. When his dad explained everything, he said that he could do it in the middle of a fight.
He would need to practise more before he could get that good at it "If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now" a new voice caught his ear. Kon turned his head back to the door to see the green-haired kid and a brown-haired girl slowly turn round to look at something on the ground near the door though he couldn't say what "Welcome to UA's hero course" it said again.
Kon and he could tell many others were about to stand up to see who was speaking but before they could, whoever it was beat them to it "It took eight seconds for you all to shut up" a man said as he rose into a few and started to climb out of a… sleeping bag? He had long unkept black hair that went down to his shoulders, all-black clothes and a multi-layered grey scarf around his neck. It went without saying that he looked completely exhausted "That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that" he stepped past the two kids and made his way in front of the class "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa. Your teacher.
There was a slight gasp from nearly everyone who looked at the man who could pass as someone who just come from the streets, Aizawa reached into the sleeping bag he was just in and pulled out a large plastic bag that carried what looked like another type of uniform "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside" he ordered them while everyone just stayed in place for a moment.
After taking a couple of minutes for everyone to grab their right size, they all headed towards the changing rooms. Kon kept his eyes forward as he stood in front of his locker and pulled up the gym pants. Knowing most everyone else was doing the same, they felt a little tight, but it wasn't the worst fit he's had to deal with "Can't believe that is our teacher" a voice said behind him "Look's like was about to pass out"
"I was hoping we would have a hot teacher to look after us, maybe Midnight. I know she teaches here" another said, though since this one was right next to him, Kon didn't have any problems turning his head to see a really short dude with purple balls on his head.
"Isn't she a literal R-rated hero?" the same voice said back.
Purple ball kid let out a dreamy sigh "Yeah"
"But hey, at least we can get right into the swing of things. No orientation, straight to training. I'm pumped and ready. Though not as much as you" The voice got a lot louder, and someone entered his field of view. Kon turned his head to see the red-haired leaned against the locker next to him, crossed his arm and looked at his shirtless body "You're built like a bodybuilder, we should hit the gym sometime" he brought up and clenched his hand in front of him.
"Sure" Kon smiled at the invite "Could be fun, though I don't know any gyms around here" he added as he grabbed the new UA gym shirt and threw it over his head.
"No problem, dude, I know a great one near here. His eyes landed on his arms and a slight frown came onto his face, not something angry but more along the lines of confusion "So why don't you wear the armband?" he asked as people started to head out and back into the hall.
"It's not what he wanted" Kon replied as he and the redhead were the last ones to step out.
"How would you know though" he said back calmly as he reached up and crossed his arms behind his head and let out a peaceful sigh.
The sheer calmness of his question almost through him back for a moment, he was so surprised that there was someone who was so….. neutral and chill about it all "He told me" he added as the class all gathered themselves outside the changing rooms in a small corridor where Aizawa was waiting for them.
He didn't say a word to them, but it was clear that he was keeping track of who was there and who wasn't, it seemed they were the last ones there since as soon as they arrived he turned and started to make his way out, the class following behind him "Ha" the redhead let out a small laugh "He told you?" he asked as he turned his head to look at him.
Kon turned to look at him with a completely serious look "Yeah" he answered as they started to make their way outside.
He frowned as he looked at Kon, he seemed really confused at his response. He wanted to believe him, but he didn't know why. Not yet at least, being completely honest Kon was having a little fun seeing someone take so long to figure out who he was. He turned away from him now and paid more attention to the field they were walking on, there were a lot of white outlines on the ground but there was no pattern that followed any sport he knew about so he assumed it was based towards more of a test of sorts instead.
Of course, it wasn't just him and the redhead who were talking; there were loads of different conversations going on between everyone. As he heard them and looked towards the others, he could see that fewer people were wearing the armband, though that could just be because they didn't want to get it dirty during whatever they were doing.
"Alright, now we can get started with the assessment test" Aizawa said as he stood in front of everyone.
"What? A Quirk assessment test?" nearly the entire class said out loud and Kon himself saw his eyes widen slightly at the sudden announcement.
"But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" the brown-haired girl who came in last.
Aizawa barely glanced at her before responding "You're all here because you want to stand at the top right?" he asked the class instead of just her "You think you'll make it into the top tens of just this country, let alone standing tall as a member of the Justice League if you waste time on pointless ceremonies" that seemed to resonate with a lot of the students as they glanced at each other "Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit" his eyes landed on Kon and he pointed right at him, drawing the attention of the rest of the glass to him "I don't know about you" he added before lowering his hand and looked to the rest "but the rest of you have been taking standardised tests most of your lives. But you never got to use your Quirks in physical exams before" he held up his phone and Kon along with everyone else looked to see a list of different tests they're about to do.
It looked pretty standard to what he's seen and done before "This country is still trying to pretend that we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day, the Ministry of Education will learn. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later now the world just lost its best protector" The atmosphere suddenly got a lot gloomier at the casual mention of Superman's death.
Aizawa's eyes landed back on Kon "For some reason that I didn't agree with, you were allowed to attend UA without taking any test to get it" Every single person at least glanced in his direction while others closest outright turned their whole bodies to face him. While most looked at him with a frown of confusion, some looked a little angrier than that, not that he could blame them. He'd be angry too if he found out someone got something for free that he worked hard for. The blonde from before looked at him with an outright murderous glare and it seemed that it was taking everything he had not to attack him and demand answers "Because of that, you might think that you're someone special, but you're not. As far as I'm concerned you don't deserve to be here, so you're going to have to work even harder to earn your place. Make no mistake, I will not hesitate to expel you from UA if I don't think you're giving it your all. Get in the circle" he ordered him as he gestured to a white circle outline near him.
Kon walked forward without hesitation and didn't even glance at the teacher as he did so, though it was easy to make out the whispering from the class behind him.
"I'm so confused"
"What the fuck? He didn't even take a test"
"What's his deal?"
"I'm going to crush this prick"
"Damn, his ass looks great in those pants"
There were a handful of whispers behind him though that last one made him glance over his shoulder, trying to figure out who said that last part. He knows that people would have mixed opinions of him and would for a while he imagined but he was still a straight teenager so hearing that a girl say has a nice ass, he instinctively wants to know who it was.
Though the teacher must have assumed he turned around for another reason, he saw something getting thrown towards him out of the corner of his eye. He acted mostly on instinct, allowing him to catch the ball with some tech in it.
He looked at it for a moment though apparently that was a moment too much "Go on, you're wasting time" Aizawa said with the same broad expression.
Seeing no reason not to, Kon turned back towards the field. He thought about just throwing it to reach the other side but that idea was quickly put down, despite everything he didn't want to fail and this might shut that blonde kid up a little bit. Besides, this is something he's done a hundred times before. Taking an extra second to get the right angle, match it with the right amount of power.
Then he moved.
To the rest of the class and he suspected the teacher as well wouldn't even have seen him move for longer than the smallest fraction of a second. The shockwave from his arm knocked everyone back a step and even knocked two people over, the purple ball-haired kid and the one who seemed to be completely invisible.
He turned around calmly enough but he didn't move from his spot, the teacher after regaining his balance lifted his phone and kept his eyes on "THE FUCK WAS THAT!" a voice called out and Kon turned to see the blonde look at him with a glare "Who the hell are you anyway huh?!" he looked like he was about to march forward to threaten him again but something stopped him.
The green-haired one on the other side of the class gasped loudly and covered his mouth with his hands, his eyes were wide, and he started shaking. For a moment Kon worried that he was going to pass out "Kachan" he said slowly.
"Huh" the blonde's glare lessened as he turned to look at him "What is it you damn nerd?" he asked.
"He…. He's…." Before he could finish, the sound of rumbling came from behind the class. It was clearly a long way away—like thunder in the distance. But it wasn't because it didn't stop, and it was getting louder before any of them could ask aloud what that was.
Kon quickly shot out his hand to the right, and the same ball he threw slammed into it with enough force to create a shockwave similar to the one when he threw it. A small amount of dust was kicked up from his catch, but it was quick to clean itself up. When it did, the entire class was looking at him with expressions of complete shock. Seeing that blonde kid's mouth so wide open was the best part about the whole thing.
He casually tossed the ball up and down a couple of times before he looked to the others "All right, let's just get this out of the way" he said to himself before he spoke up louder "I feel like I should just say this now, my name is Kon-El, I'm Superman and Wonder Woman's son, just in case any of you are wondering"
The looks of shock didn't get any bigger, but they also didn't change, most likely those who didn't know just figured it out then, but it was better safe than sorry. Before anyone could say anything else, Aizawa walked forward until he stopped beside him, turned his phone around and showed Kon the number '40,008KM'
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro-hero" he said to the class as he showed them the number as well and everyone gasped at the solid proof that Kon just threw the ball around the whole world and landed back in the same spot.
"Whoa, over 40,000 meters? Are you kidding me?" a more chill blonde boy with a dark stripe in his air gasped.
"Not to mention the math he would need to do in his head to make sure the ball arrived at the same point he threw it from" the more well-developed girl with a black ponytail spoke up next to him, she brought up her hand to her chin and looked deep in thought.
"I wanna go! That looks like fun" the bright pink-skinned girl said clapping her hands together.
"This is what I'm takin' about, usin' our Quirks as much as we want!" another spoke up, looking just as happy.
"So this looks fun, huh?" Aizawa said again, this time in a much darker tone of voice than he normally had, at least he thought it was his normal voice. It's way too early to tell. Though it was clear that it drew the attention of the others "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and play time" Then much to Kon and everyone else's horror, the man dipped his head and let out a smile "Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately"
The announcement drew gasps of horror from the whole class and Kon narrowed his eyes at him and crossed his arms, the ball hanging loosely from one of them. Though it was clear that the words worked well to make people forget about him for a moment "Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand! If that's a problem, you can head home right now"
It was at that moment that Kon knew exactly what he had to do.
During the fifty-meter dash, Kon was casually jogging much slower than the earphone jack girl who sprinted down the track as fast as she could. Since there was only one teacher here, they had to do every event together and many watched in confusion as Kon finished in just fifteen seconds, the slowest in the class by far.
During the strength grip test, everyone had to squeeze the grip as hard as they could to show how strong they really were. The strongest was the large boy with the mutant type of Quirk that gave him six arms that had loads of muscle on them. He reached 560 kg on his test. Kon looked down at his machine and moved his figures ever so slightly, just enough to reach 20kg.
Below average.
Many of the class looked at him with confusion but two gave him small smiles.
During the long jump, Kon simply hopped forward and barely moved one meter passed the jump line. Much to the annoyance of the Aizawa who had little choice but to keep track of his score.
Due to the usage of Quirks, when it came to the side-to-side bounce. The purple ball kid got first by a landslide due to him stacking some of his balls on either side and using them as a boost since they stick to everything except him who is repelled by them. Kon jumped once but looked like he overshot it and went way too far, smacking into a tree and taking way too long to pick himself back up. By the time he made it back time was up and he had to keep the score of one jump.
During the sit-ups, all he did was lie on the ground and look up to the sky. Only counted the one he did to get back up.
For the seated toe touch, he seemed unable to reach that far, only going about halfway before freezing in place and looking at everyone with a small shrug about how he was unable to go further than that.
By the time they made it to the ball throw, everyone in the class had a good idea about what he was doing even if they didn't outright say it, based on the nods and smiles he was getting from everyone. They appreciated it. When everyone else did the ball throw, Kon was surprised to see that his score of the length of the Earth was beaten out by the brunette girl who got infinity because she could switch off its gravity making it so it could never fall.
The rest of the class had made their throws, and it was just the green-haired kid left, someone who was at the bottom of the class rankings or would have been if it wasn't for Kon. Yet he still seemed nervous about the whole thing, the kid was practically shaking.
And despite some type of confrontation with the teacher about not knowing how to use his power and that he shouldn't be here which rubbed Kon the wrong way, he was able to throw the ball an impressive distance that created a small shockwave. A good throw and it was one of the best in class but besides himself and the new Infinity Girl, nobody went crazy over it.
Though Kon and many others quickly noticed that his finger was now broken which looked very painful but before he could even make it back to the group. The angry blonde boy looked like he was about to explode with his rage, with no idea what he was thinking "I'm getting to the bottom of this" he snarled and before Kon could reach out and stop him, he sprinted forward "HEY! Deku, you bastard! Tell me how you did that, or you're dead!" he shouted, explosions going off from his hands as he did so.
"What the fuck is with this guy" Kon said allowed earning some nods from the rest of the class though before he could even make it halfway to him. Aizawa acted and the scarf he wore was quickly wrapped around him, locking him in place "What? Why the hell is your damn scarf so strong?" he asked as he tried to outmuscle the teacher.
"Because it's a capture weapon made out of carbon fibre and a special metal alloy. Stand down" he ordered and the rest of the class watched as the hair on his head started to stand up on its own, letting them know that he was using his Quirk which it seemed allowed him to cancel out the Quirk of the ones he was looking at "It'd be wise to avoid making me use my Quirk so much, it gives me serious dry eye" it wasn't really a threat but at the same time it clearly was.
"Too bad. That power is amazing" some of the class found themselves saying and Kon couldn't disagree with them on that.
He let out a sigh and dropped the effect of his Quirk, the scarf wrapping itself back around his neck "You're wasting my time now. Whoever's next can step up" he said completely calm again and turned back to the class, though when no-one moved he realized that everyone was finished. He paused for a moment before looking down at his phone and checking over the results "All right, time to give you your results. I've ranked you all from best to worst" his eyes narrowed as he looked at Kon "You should probably have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the whole list since it's not worth going over each individual's score" he pressed a button and a holographic screen was projected so everyone could see.
Despite how important of a moment this was, there didn't seem to be anyone freaking out too much because of the very obvious factor of Kon bombing every test on purpose except for the first one. Low and behold, when he looked at the screen, he was dead last.
He put a small smirk on his face as others turned to look at him. Some with worrying looks, and others gave him small smiles in appreciation because despite how young they all were even they knew that he could have done way better but didn't. Aizawa on the other hand didn't look happy at all "Kon-El, stay behind. The rest of you can get dressed and head on home" The class was slow to move, at least most of them were. The angry blonde was quick to start walking, though he was clearly angry, but Kon was willing to bet that it was about the Deku's score then it was him 'Didn't Deku mean useless? Why was he called that' he thought to himself.
After a glare from the teacher the class started to move until it was just the two of them left "Why did you fail the test on purpose" Aizawa asked.
All Kon could do was shrug "I don't know what you mean? I tried my hardest on every one of those tests" he said calmly.
Aizawa frowned before stepping forward towards him until they were only a couple of steps away from each other. Despite Kon knowing that nothing much worse could happen, he did find himself getting intimidated a little bit "If you want to do well in my class then you better start telling the truth" he warned.
Kon himself frowned in confusion "I thought I was expelled" he said back.
"No one getting expelled" Aizawa responded back immediately "It was a ploy to make sure that everyone did their best to achieve their goal" he explained and Kon had to admit, that was a good idea. Though he would never say that out loud "I can't teach you if I don't know what you are capable of, and I know nothing regarding that about you because you didn't do any of the tests needed to get in"
"I didn't ask for that treatment" he replied back heatedly, surprising himself for a moment.
"It doesn't matter, you took it and now I need to work more to get a better gauge of what you can and can't do" The man let out a sigh and looked to the ground before looking back up at him "For lying on the tests you'll be serving detention with me. During which you will be doing two things" he held up two fingers in front of him "The first is doing to written part of the entrance exam so I can get a better idea about how smart you are. The second is well go over just how much you differ from your parents in terms of ability so we can figure out the best way to train you. Understood" he said.
Kon took a moment before nodding "Yes sir"
Ok everyone we shall call it there, let me know what you all think and don't worry. I know that I didn't see show everyone's reaction to him being Superman's son in this chapter but we'll get to that later. Anyway, I'll see you all in the next chapter.
