A month has passed since the world went back to normal. Six chosen ones fought with Digimon to save two worlds. Little did they know that defeating the Eaters was not the end of it. A new threat has appeared in the Digital World. Now the Cyber Sleuths and their friends are on the case to save Digimon from a war. ...And new allies join them from close by and somewhere VERY far way.

82. Chapter 82: The Ultimate Royal Knight

The Cyber Sleuths and their Digimon were locked into heavy battle with VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon. Rapidmon Armor X blocked VictoryGreymon's Dragon's Breaker with the blades on his arms then kicked him. Rosemon X spun his whip in a spiral and it blocked a swarm of bullets. She spun and kicked sending the whip around her leg at ZeedGarurumon, but he caught it in his mouth. Rosemon X struggled to pull he leg back in, but she was yanked over to the wolf who rammed his skull into her. "BLOWBACK BREATH!" ZeedGarurumon spat explosives from his mouth.

"Shinning Laser!" Rapidmon Armor X fired at both Digimon.

VictoryGreymon took armored pieces from his back and equipped them to his arms, and he flew in front of ZeedGarurumon. "VICTORY SHEILD!" A V snapped barrier formed in front of them blocking the attack. He then held up his sword. "ATTACK CHARGE FIELD!"

"SPEED CHARGE FIELD!" ZeedGarurumon howled. The two glowed.

"They're buffing their stats." Takumi said. "We'll reply in kind."

"Speed Charge Field!" Rapidmon Armor X glowed.

"Mental Charge Field!" Rosemon X gave them her own power up.

ZeedGarurumon aimed all his weapons at them. "FULL METAL BREATH!" A series of rockets and lasers flew at them all at once.

Rapidmon Armor X took all his weapons out. "Billion Bullet!" He fired back countering the shots projectile for projectile.

ZeedGarurumon kept firing as his cannon glowed. "ZEED CANNON!" He shot a giant purple laser.

Rapidmon Armor X dodged the beam. It tore right through the temple wall behind him. "That cannon is no joke."

VictoryGreymon's sword glowed gold. "DRAMON BREAKER!" He flew towards Rosemon X with a charging thrust.

Rosemon X caught the blade by coiling her whips around it. She struggled against it before she managed to shove him back then held a whip with the length of a sword in each hand with. "Rose Rapier!"

"TRIDANT GAIA!" VictoryGreymon took the Dramon Breaker apart and equipped the halves to his arms. They flew at each other and clashed repeatedly. Sparks flew at each clang. Then VictoryGreymon thrusted both arms at her. She blocked but was flung into a wall.

Alphamon Oryuken meanwhile blocked more red lightning with his sword. "Storm of Judgment!" Cherubimon swung his hands and red lightning rained down. Alphamon Oryuken moved swiftly dodging each flash of red.

"Heavy Strike!" Alphamon Oryuken charged in slamming the blunt end of her sword into Cherubimon knocking him back. He growled before roaring. A red X appeared over his body engulfing him in light. "This is…" Cherubimon now had pink streaks going down his purple, black, and white body, orange palms, and glowing mouth and eyes.

"Looks like BoltBoutamon had a spare X-Antibody for him." Kyoko said. "Be careful."

Cherubimon X leered at Alphamon. "Darkness Prison!" A black orb encased Alphamon and started crackling with red electricity. Alphamon could be heard grunting and suffering.

"Alphamon!" Kyoko took out her Digivice and started a program.

The Royal Knight roared and exploded the black orb with a golden light that blinded Cherubimon X. She twisted the blade and spun before slashing at full power. "Ultimate Oryuken!" Cherubimon cried out as he was sliced diagonally. "The end."

Cherubimon X groaned weakly. "You must...stop him..." His body faded away leaving the X-Antibody he held behind.

"I know." Alphamon Oryuken slowly walked over and picked up the X-Antibody. "It is my duty to stop Leopardmon. Takumi and Ami risked their very existence to make up for their action in this world eight years ago. Now it's my turn. I must take responsibility for my failure to stop my fellow knights."

"That is not just your responsibility." Kyoko replied. "Us humans played a hand in Leopardmon's madness. We also will do what we must to make this right."

Alphamon Oryuken turned to her. "That enhancement program you created for me is even stronger than I thought it would be."

"That makes two of us. I call it "Black Iron"."

"Ah…in honor of the agency. I like it." A bang redirected them to the other equation of the battle they were in. Rapidmon Armor X was smashed into a wall.

"Rapidmon, move!" Takumi shouted.

His Digimon looked up as VictoryGreymon charged at him again. He dove out of the way before the Dramon Breaker stabbed into the wall he was previously against. "Lasser Gattling Arm!" He fired multiple shots from his cannons, but VictoryGreymon blocked them with his sword as he closed the gap and swung. Rapidmon Armor X blocked with the glowing blades on his arms. VictoryGreymon punched him in the torso. While Rapidmon Armor X hunched over he grabbed him by an ear and threw him.

Rosemon X was having trouble herself. Deflecting shots with her whips was starting to tire her. ZeedGarurumon pounced at her and pinned her to the ground. She moved her head aside narrowly evading a chomp before she kicked him off her. Just as she was getting up ZeedGarurumon fired another laser into her. "Takumi and Ami need our help." Kyoko said. "Come on."

"Hold it." Alphamon Oryuken replied. "Let's see how this plays out."

"This isn't a game Alphamon! I am not losing my assistants over a gamble!"

"I'm not suggesting we should. But have you forgotten how much they have grown under us? The point of mentoring a student is to pass down everything you are. Or to surpass you even. If Takumi and Ami are going to surpass us someday, they must develop. They must learn to stand on their own. I am not gambling their safety. I am trusting them. Trusting that they can prevail."

Kyoko looked at her assistants and sighed. "If it looks like they're about to go down, we move in no matter what."

"Of course. I don't want to lose them anymore then you."

Takumi and Ami took a deep breath and put on their goggles. "Overclock." Their Digimon glowed red. They closed their eyes triggering Matrix Link. Rapidmon Armor X flew up and fired at VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon again while flying past him making a dust cloud. Rosemon X then ran up, spun in place as the whip on her right arm extended. VictoryGreymon was struck and fell over while ZeedGarurumon jumped over it, but Rapidmon Armor X knocked him down as Rosemon X continued rotating, now on the left foot while her right once stuck out sending another extending whip into the wolf toppling him.

Both enemies got up. ZeedGarurumon pounced at Rosemon X again. Ami dropped onto her back and hands. Rosemon X mirrored her movements and as ZeedGarurumon went under her she kicked her legs straight up into him while springing back to her feet. As ZeedGarurumon flew upward she shot the whips on her arms up. They coiled around ZeedGarurumon and she slammed him onto the ground. Ami spun around and kicked forward guiding Rosemon X to do the same sending ZeedGarurumon flying.

VictoryGreymon ran at Rapidmon Armor X and swung his sword vertically. Takumi held his arm up bent and Rapidmon Armor X followed his action and blocked the sword with the energy blade on his right arm. Takumi pointed his left arm forward and Rapidmon Armor X did the same shooting VictoryGreymon's torso with the weapon on his left arm. VictoryGreymon stumbled back then continued to swing. Takumi and his Digimon dodged or blocked every attack occasionally getting a shot it. Takumi then ran up, leapt and spun swinging his arms diagonally and Rapidmon Armor X did the same slashing at VictoryGreymon.

Ami held her hand up and spun it around like swinging a lasso. Rosemon X was spinning ZeedGarurumon on the other end of her whip then when Rapidmon Armor X shot at VictoryGreymon again who blocked the attack with his sword, Rosemon X slammed ZeedGarurumon onto the dragon. After they got up, VictoryGreymon rushed at them. "VICTORY CHARGE!"

ZeedGarurumon aimed at them. "ZEED CANNON!"

Rapidmon Armor X held his arms up in a cross blocking VictoryGreymon's attack and Rosemon X crossed her arms shielding herself from ZeedGarurumon's move. Ami swung her arms back along with her Digimon. "Thorn Whip!" They swung forward sending two whips at ZeedGarurumon.

"ZEED CANNON!" ZeedGarurumon fired another blast, but the first whip pierced through the attack and shattered the cannon. The second one went straight through ZeedGarurumon. He glowed before exploding in a blue powerful light.

Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X pushed the Dramon Breaker away then headbutted VictoryGreymon pushing him back. Takumi held his ands forward and Rapidmon Amror X swapped guns doing the same. "Rapid Blaster!" A golden blast enveloped VictoryGreymon. He started to dissolve then exploded in a blast of red.

Takumi and Ami exhaled at they deactivated Matrix Link and Overclock. "That was rough…" Ami said.

"Yeah." Takumi panted. "No wounder they could take on King Drasil…"

"See? What did I tell you?" Alphamon said.

Kyoko smiled. "Those two…they're already grown past my expectations."

"Same. We're going to have to push ourselves harder from now on. It'd be pretty embarrassing if those two surpassed us at a young age."

Kyoko chuckled. "Agreed." She then aproached her assistants. "Well done you two. That was quite the battle."

"Still…" Alphamon pondered. "How did Leopardmon get past the lock? I never imagined someone could hack past the security program King Drasil and I created…"

"We can question him once we find him." Takumi replied.

Kyoko rested her chin on her hand. "…Assuming he's even here."

Everyone turned to her. "What do you mean?" Rosemon X asked. "Were we wrong to think this was the Next Order's main hideout?"

"Well…let's assume all or assumptions are correct from this indeed being their main hideout to the temples being where Leopardmon, Boltboutamon and Dynasmon are likely to hide. There are three Celestial Digimon, and they were defeated when the Sanctuary was captured. Would it only be logical that if they could turn Cherubimon the way they did, that the same was done to the other two?"

Alphamon nodded. "Certainly. Why only turn one of them into a pawn when they could have all three Celestial Digimon under their control?"

"What are you getting at Kyoko?" Rapidmon Armor X asked.

"Takumi!" Yuuko shouted as she ran into the temple with Yuugo, Kouta, Fei and their Digimon close behind. "Are you alright?!"

"Yuuko! Yeah, we're fine. We didn't find Leopardmon or the other targets. But we got attacked by a Celestial Digimon and the anti-King Drasil Weapons Alphamon mentioned."

"So Leopardmon did manage to get his hands on them…" Yuugo said.

"We actually got attacked by a Celestial Digimon on our end too." Kouta said.

"Interesting…" Kyoko said. "Then that means that Takuto's team likely ran into the last one at their temple. Meaning Leopardmon, Dynasmon nor BoltBoutamon are in any of the temples. What's more is the Celestial Digimon were clearly lying in wait for us."

"So, we fell for a trap, is that what you're sayin'?" Fei asked.

"Well, we managed to get past it." Sakuyamon X said. "Now we can find where those three are hiding and wrap this up."

"The intent of the trap might not be to eliminate us." Kyoko said. "But to stall for time."

"Time for what?" Yukimura shrugged. Instead of an answer from Kyoko the team heard a roar that shook the structure they were in.

"What the hell?" Fei was the first to run out of the temple. The first thing she saw was Examon X lashing out near the entrance. "Oh shit…"

The others hurried outside to look. "Is that Examon?!" Takumi asked.

"And it looks like they hooked him up with the X-Antibody!" Yuuko exclaimed.

"Not surprising." Alphamon replied. "We've put a lot of pressure on him and the Next Order. It was only a matter of time before he gave the most powerful knight an X-Antibody."

"Was this also part of the trap Kyoko?" Kouta asked.

"Who cares?! Arata and the others are back there!" Ami pointed out. "We gotta help them!"

"Agreed." Kyoko replied. "We'll have time to verify my theory later. For now, we need to stop that beast." They all rushed towards the fight in the center of the Sanctuary.

Shakkoumon rammed down a fake Myotismon and then clawed another. Two fake Pidemon grappled onto his back. Justimon grabbed one of them and threw it off Shakkoumon who shook of the other. "Night Raid!" Mysotismon sent a swarm of bats at Hudiemon who flew overhead.

She gathered energy in her hands. "Gaia Element!" She threw an emerald orb into the Myotismon and it exploded. But another snuck up from behind.

"Crimson Lightning!" The copy flung a whip of electricity striking Hudiemon in the back. She shrieked before it flung it again coiling it around her. It slammed the trapped Digimon to the ground then pulled her in to grab her by the face but before it could do anything else Shakkoumon tore it apart with his claws.

The last two Pidemon stood in front of the three Hudie Digimon and drew their weapons. "Trump Sword!" They threw their blades at them.

Justimon and Shakkoumon flew in front of Hudiemon blocking the weapons and Hudiemon flew up to the copies. "Infinity Dream!" Her eyes glowed blue at them and they froze. She jumped back to her team. "Let's get em guys!"

"Chain Max!" Justimon held his hand up and the three of them glowed.

Shakkoumon's eyes focused on the targets. "DISSASTER BLASTER!" He fired twin red lasers into the Pidemon pushing them against the wall.

Justimon and Hudiemon backflipped into the air. "Justice Kick!"

"Flying Kick!" The duo charged side by side and pulverized the final copies. Hudiemon brushed herself off. "Phew. That was a lot of freaks but nothing Hudie can't handle."

"It's not over yet." Justimon said before they all looked towards Keisuke.

The hacker was in deep focus as hid Digimon fought Boltboutamon. "Rune Forrest!" He shot a green projectile the blew up the ground BoltBoutamon jumped away from.

BoltBoutamon held his hand at him. "Chaos Cloud!" HerculesKabuterimon X tanked the attack and charged towards him with his horn out. "Hide and Seek!" He disappeared before he could get hit then struck HerculesKabuterimon from behind.

"Flying Kick!" Hudiemon kicked BoltBoutamon in the back.

"Ow!" The vile Digimon turned around and glared at her. "Rude!" He grabbed her with both his giant hands and threw her to the ground. "Root Bind!" Just as Hudiemon stood up giant roots burst out of the ground tying her up and keeping her on the ground. "There! Now you stay in your corner missy and think about what you did!"

"HOLY LIGHT!"

Shakkoumon threw an orb of light at him, but he blocked it with his cape. "You too, huh? Evil Squall!" A dark shockwave blew Shakkoumon away.

"Saint Knuckle!" Justimon flew at BoltBoutamon to throw a punch, but it was caught by a giant skeleton hand.

"Inferno!" BoltBoutamon knocked Justimon over to where Shakkoumon was lying on his back and Hudeimon was struggling in her root restraints. BoltBoutamon then teleported between them. "Venom Disaster!" A green tornado sucked the three in and started spinning them around.

"Heaven's Thunder!" HerculesKabuterimon X threw a golden spark into the center of the tornado zapping BoltBoutamon and dispelling his attack. Hudiemon, Justimon and Shakkoumon crashed into the ground. Keisuke had his eyes closed in Matrix Link and HerculesKabuterimon was glowing red with Overclock. "Leave our family alone you bastard!"

BoltBoutamon cackled. "Alright "big brothers". Show me what ya got!" The two rushed at each other. BoltBoutamon blocked the horn with his swords, but HerculesKabuterimon punched him. "Tailwind!" A gold wind blew around BoltBoutamon and he increased his speed. He starting zooming around HerculesKabuterimon slashing at him repeatedly.

"Guard Charge Field!" Keisuke's Digimon glowed red and blew BoltBoutamon away. "Nanomachine Break!" He hit him with an electrified punch.

After spiraling out of control BoltBoutamon pointed his gun at HerculesKabuterimon X. "Quartzione!" He fired dark bullets at him, but he didn't even react to it. "Oh boy…"

"Giga Blaster!" HerculesKabuterimon X electrocuted him while slamming him into the ceiling. "Horn Buster Revision!" He flew up at him and impaled BoltBoutamon with his horn. As he backed away, BoltBoutamon fell to the ground…or rather half of him.

"Nice one Keisuke!" Hudiemon cheered.

"You're finished BoltBoutamon!" Keisuke said as he turned off the Matrix Link and Overclock. "That's what you get for toying with lives!"

"This can't be…!" BoltBoutamon wheezed. "I can't die here! …Is that what you were expecting me to say?"

Keisuke was both confused and unnerved by BoltBoutamon's smug grin. "What…?"

"Still…you adapted to your new powers better then I though. I'm impressed. It's a good thing I planed for you to be this strong, or the real me would be a goner."

"What are you talking about?!" HerculesKabuterimon X asked.

"Oh, I'm sure you kids will figure it out in due time…" BoltBoutamon grinned as he started to dissolve. "But right now, if I were you…I'd be making sure my buddies weren't dying to the new and improved Examon." He laughed as he vanished.

"What was that about?" Keisuke asked.

Hudiemon stared at where BoltBoutamon disappeared. "He left no data behind… just like the clones we just fought…"

Keisuke turned his head to look at her. "Erika…are you saying…"

"That wasn't the real BoltBoutamon."

"Damn it! Did the real one go with Dynasmon and Leopardmon to start Project Nexus?!"

"Probably…the Next Order is about to do something big. Ugh! If only we got here just a bit sooner!"

Justimon went over to the vault and ripped the door open. It was empty. "They really did take the core with them…damn it all!"

"I'm worried about what he said though…the "new and improved Examon"? That can only mean one thing…"

"He gave Examon an X-Antibody?!" Keisuke asked. "He was dangerous enough without one!"

"Yeah, if he really did use that on him…the others are in trouble!"

"Then I need to go help them! Now!"

Hudiemon nodded. "Go. The three of us will return to the city and tell Mirei what we just learned. As much as I hate to admit it against something like Examon with a X-Antibody we'd only slow you down anyway."

"Don't worry, we got this." HerculesKabuterimon X replied.

"Very well." Justimon replied. "But this could be the hardest battle yet. Be careful…both of you."

As Hudiemon, Justimon and Shakkoumon left Keisuke turned to HerculesKabuterimon X "Let's go!" His Digimon nodded as they ran for the exit.

Magnamon screamed as he was rocketed into the ground. Examon X hovered over him ready to crush him under his massive spear, but he was to injured to move himself out of the way. Fortunately for him just as Examon brought the colossal weapon down, Diaboromon X's arm stretched out, grabbed Magnamon and pulled him out of the way. Noir flew directly in front of Examon X's face. "Chaos Cloud!" He and Shoma sent a purple mist into the Dragon's face blinding him.

Omegamon Merciful Mode saw his opening and flew up from behind and aimed his cannon at Examon X. "Shinning Lasser!" Examon X felt prickling at the back of his head and turned around swinging his weapon at Omegamon Merciful Mode who flew straight up to evade.

"Victory Swords!" UlforceVeedramon charged at Examon X only to get smacked to the ground like a tennis ball.

"UlforceVeedramon!" Magnamon shouted.

"Damn you!" Kentorusmon fired more arrows at Examon X while circling around him then flew in front. "Freeze where you stand! Odin's Breath!" He summoned a freezing hurricane that enveloped the giant knight. Ice slowly crept up his body.

"Keep going, it's working!" Arata said.

Just when the ice got over Examon X's shin he lifted his leg up instantly shattering it. He pulled his other leg free and roared at Kentarusmon before stomping down in front of him startling him out of his attack. "It can't be…!"

Examon X held his lance forward. "Avalon's Gate!" Kentarusmon held up his shield to block the electrical bullets Examon X fired, but was sent flying into the distance.

"Kentarusmon!" UlforceVeedramon flew off in the direction of his friend.

"Jesmon!" Gankomon ran towards Examon X.

"Yes master!" Jesmon flew in front of him. Gankoomon jumped onto his apprentice's back and then rocketed himself overhead of Examon X as Jesmon flew straight at him. "Judgment of the Blade!"

"Quake! Blast! Fire! Father!" Gankoomon threw fiery punches at him. Both attacks angered Examon X.

"Gale Storm!" Both Knights were blown away by a powerful storm.

"Lightning Joust!" Gallantmon fired a burst of light from his lance into the back of Examon X's head. When Examon turned around to leer at him he held up his shield. "Sheild of the Just!"

Examon X batted the attack away and reeled back his lance. "Pendragon's Glory!"

Gallantmon froze in terror of the upcoming attack like a deer in the headlights. "Gallantmon!" Arata yelled as Diaboromon X jumped in and move the knight out of the way just before Examon X's attack could reach him. After the stab whiffed, Examon X spun around swinging his lance at them.

"Look out!" Gallantmon shoved Diaboromon X and Arata out of the way and held his shield up. The Ambrose slammed against it and Gallantmon was pumped to the ground.

"Guys, this is seriously looking bad…" Nokia groaned.

Examon X roared and then looked to her next. She and Omegamon Merciful Mode braced themselves. "Supreme Gannon!" A beam rained down on Examon X on him as Omni and Takuto flew by. Examon X turned towards him to retaliate.

"Seed Belt!" Seeds rained down onto Examon X's lance that sprouted into roots that coiled around his weapon and arm. He looked behind him to see Faye and Shiki.

Rikka and Himri flew in front of the knight. "Apocalypse!" They unleashed holy light on him.

Examon X was blinded for a bit, but then knocked Faye and Rikka away before he ripped the roots off his other arm. Infinity and Mameo landed on Examon and the Chaosdramon X stabbed his claws into him. Examon howled a bit before shaking them off. "Takuto! Shiki! Himari! Mr. Mameo!" Shoma gasped.

"Is everyone alright?!" Shiki asked.

"What's it look like?" Arata asked. "This thing it is picking us apart!"

Examon X grabbed Faye and Omni in his hand and along with their Tamers and started squeezing. "Takuto! Shiki!" Himari screamed.

"Horn Buster Revision!" HerculesKabuterimon X rocketed through Examon X's hand making him release them.

"Great timing Keisuke!" Nokia grinned.

Keisuke looked at Examon X. "I knew it. So, this is Examon with the X-Antibody."

"He's tanked everything we've thrown at him so far." Shoma said. "We won't last much longer if we can't turn the tables soon."

Rapidmon Armor X charged drop kicking Examon X. It knocked him back a bit before he pushed back blowing them away. But Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko caught them. "Thanks." Takumi said regaining his footing on his Digimon.

Rosemon X and Ami caught up. "Great. Examon has an X-Antibody now." Ami sighed. "Like he wasn't enough of an issue."

Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode, Craniamon, Sakuyamon X, and Yukimura arrived with their Tamers. "Looks like we're the last ones here." Kyoko said.

"Sorry for the wait." Kouta said. "We're joining in!"

"Gallantmon, you and the other knights withdraw!" Alphamon Oryuken ordered. "This is a task for the Tamers."

"I hate to say it but you're right. Examon has grown far beyond what we can hope to hinder at this point. Gankoomon! Jesmon! Magnamon! We must leave!"

"Very well…" Magnamon said before he and his friends retreated.

Jesmon turned around to look at his friends before leaving. "I'm sorry we keep pushing things on you guys! But you can do this! I know you can!" He then left.

Everyone assembled in front of Examon X. "So…we got a plan here?" Himari asked. "Because I sure don't know where to start."

"I don't think conventional tactics will work on Examon." Alphamon Oryuken replied. "Especially not in his current state."

"Then I guess our only option is to go all out and try to overwhelm him with sheer force and numbers!" Takuto said punching his palm.

"I-isn't that a bit reckless?" Yuuko asked. "We tried that before, and it didn't end well for us…"

"Yeah, and that was when he DIDN'T have an X-Antibody!" Takumi pointed out.

"It's not my ideal plan either but face it. It's that or nothing." Mameo replied.

Kyoko nodded. "Agreed. Let's just hope it's enough…"

Examon X roared. "Planning time's over people!" Shiki warned. "Here he comes!"

Examon X swung his lance making everyone move but what caught them off guard was his full rotation that led to his tail swinging into Omegamon Merciful Mode, Craniamon, Rikka and HerculesKabuterimom X. After the full speed Examon X selected his target and attacked. "Avalon's Gate!"

He took a shot at Alphamon Oryuken who managed to block it with her sword but was sent hurtling backwards. When she recovered, she charged right back at him. "Heavy Strike!" Examon X blocked her with his other hand then pushed her away.

"Billion Bullet!" Rapidmon Armor X fired with everything he had at Examon X. The beast howled before reaching to grab him but he escaped.

"Thorn Whip!" Rosemon X threw one of her whips at Examon but he caught in between two fingers and threw her to the ground. He prepared to stomp on her, but Faye swooped in and carried her out of the way.

"Take this!" Kouta shouted as he and Yukimura charged towards the dragon swinging Dynas from behind, but Examon X whirled around and deflected them with his own spear. "Whoa!" Kouta nearly fell off. "He's faster than he looks!"

"Watch out!" Yuugo shouted as he and Craniamon flew in front of them.

"Pendragon's Glory!" Examon X thrusted at them.

Craniamon held up his shield. "Breath of Gods!" He created a barrier to protect them that held for a few seconds until Examon X shattered it blowing them away. "Whoa!"

"Brother!" Yuuko shouted as Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode and Sakuyamon X came in to catch the two knights.

"No way..." Ami gasped. "I never saw Craniamon's technique fail like that..."

"Giga Blaster!" HerculesKabuterimon X fired at the knight who batted the attack aside with his tail that then smacked him away.

"Holy crap..." Keisuke grunted. "He makes Arcadiamon look like a Punimon..."

"Nobody is unstoppable!" Mameo said as Infinity fired a Hyper Infinity Cannon at Examon X. "Our attacks are damaging it! We just have to keep up the pressure!"

"You heard the man!" Himari said as Rikka breathed golden fire.

Sakuyamon X summoned fox spirits of fire, wind, water, and thunder that rammed Examon X before he batted her aside with his free arm. "Sure." Fei groaned. "Provided he doesn't kill us all first."

Omni, Faye and Noir got behind him. "Supreme Cannon!"

"Transcendent Cannon!"

"Gran Del Sol!" All three knightly Digimon fired together. But just as the attack got close Examon X howled and the Dragonic Plasma sphere above his head unleashed a wind that blew the rays away.

"Oh come ON!" Takuto yelled. "Don't you have ENOUGH tricks?!"

Examon X whirled around. "Wind Claw!" His swipe knocked all three Digimon that attempted to attack him away.

Watching them and their Tamers crash into the ground alarmed Mameo. "Takuto! Shiki! Shoma!"

They all groaned in pain lying in the dirt. Shiki stared at her brother. "I guess not."

"Alright, that's it!" Takumi yelled closed his eyes and establishing his Matrix Link with his Digimon. "Everyone! Matrix Link and then we all attack together!" Rapidmon Armor X, Rosemon X, HerculesKabuterimom X, Omegamon Merciful Mode, Diaboromon X, Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode, Craniamon, Sakuyamon X, Rikka, Yukimura, Infinity and Alphamon Oryuken who was the only one who didn't mentally join forces with her Digimon surrounded Examon X. "Rapid Blaster!"

"Thorn Whip!"

"Giga Blaster!"

"Fearsome Blade!"

"Rewind Abyss 13!"

"Binding Whirlwind!"

"Waltz's End!"

"Uka-no-Mitama!"

"Fire Tornado!"

"Rage of Wyvern!"

"Destroyed Hook!"

"Soul Digitilization!" All of their attacks hit Examon X from different angles, and he screeched.

"Yes!" Shiki cheered. "They got him!"

Examon X's eyes widened with rage. "Thunder Sword Bureiragaha!" He summoned his twelve blades of electricity that blocked the attacks then flew at the attackers slashing them. Save for Kyoko, their partners screamed with them as they felt their pain.

"Oh no!" Takuto gasped. He, Shiki and Shoma Matrix Linked with their partners as they got up and flew at Examon X.

"Gale Storm!" The giant Dragon's Dragonic Plasma glowed and created a vicious hurricane that sucked all of the party in one by one and flung them around the storm roughly. They then were all thrown in different directions. The Digimon held onto the humans and cushioned the impact for them.

"Yeah..." Arata winced. "This is getting nowhere..."

Examon X roared and slammed his tail on the ground. "He's not even looking like he's starting to tire..." Yuugo wheezed.

"Not yet..." Ami groaned as she and Rosemon X got up.

"It's not over yet!" Takumi shouted as he and Rapidmon Armor X flew at Examon X along with the girls.

"Dragonic Impact!" Examon flapped his wings and charged into them blowing them aside.

Even as he fell Rapidmon Armor X fired. "Lasser Gattling Arm!"

Examon X felt the laser fire and turned around. "Pendragon's Glory!" Rosemon X latched her whip onto Rapidmon Armor X's ankle and pulled him away from the attack.

"Takumi, Ami, fall back!" Kyoko said. "You won't last longer like this!"

Alphamon Oryuken shook her head. "You know just as well as I do that those two won't back down. After all...you and I taught them."

Kyoko sighed. "I wanted them to be brave, but not reckless."

"Bravery and recklessness come hand in hand my friend. Bravery leads to arrogance; arrogance leads to foolery." Alphamon Oryuken looked down. "Still...In the end I called them out for doing crazy things and being a handful, yet...everything they learned they learned from my example and orders. Whose to say I am not the one who made them reckless and crazy."

"Alphamon..."

"Either way you said something I completely agree with earlier. I don't want to lose either of them. Especially not put of personal negligence. Those two...have been standing tall this entire time." Alphamon stabbed the Oryuken into the ground and used it to push herself up. "As their superiors, we can't afford to fall behind."

Kyoko smiled. "Of course not. Providing and example is part of a leader's duty."

Alphamon laughed. "It seems we think alike...you know...BlackWarGreymon pointed out that despite how we connected before, I'm not you and you're not me. ...But I think the two of us can serve to be two halves of a bigger whole."

"I do like the sound of that. And I'm sure we both know what that whole is thinking right now."

Examon X's screeched blew Rapidmon Armor X and Rosemon X into a structure with a loud crash. Takumi and Ami groaned from the impact. "Guys, look out!" When they heard Takuma shout, they looked up and gasped.

They closed their eyes hoping for a painless end. Instead, they heard a loud clang. When they looked up the blade had stopped just above them. Looking forward they saw the back of Alphamon Oryuken holding it up with her blade. With effort she managed to shove it back making Examon X back away. "No way!" Himari and Rikka gasped.

Arata's mouth was agape. "How did…?!"

"Stand up Watsons. It's not over yet."

Takumi and Ami did not just hear Alphamon's voice. "…Kyoko?"

The detective's eyes were closed, and her right hand was clenched as if holding a sword. Yuuko noticed her stance was identical to Alphamon Oryuken's. "Did she…?"

Kyoko held her right hand up and Alphamon Oryuken swung her sword overhead before they took a inside right sword stance. "We are seeing this case through." The two of them spoke in unison. "All of us together."

Examon X roared and thrusted his lance. "Avalon's Gate!"

Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko held the Oryuken to their lefts side deflecting the thrust and the lance slammed into the ground behind them. They then flew up and slashed Examon X across the face. Examon X roared in pain then tried to grab the knight, but she flew straight up. "Destruction Cannon!"

After taking a blast Examon X tried to bite them, but they flew out of the way. Takumi and Ami were amazed, but the brother snapped out of it and used a HP Spray A on his and Ami's Digimon. "Come on!"

"R-right! Rosemon, Rapidmon, can you still fight?"

The Digimon stood up. "If Alphamon and Kyoko can, then so can we."

Examon X slammed his lance against the Oryuken repeatedly as Kyoko and Alphamon blocked each strike. Then one knocked them off balance and Examon X went for an overhead strike. Alphamon and Kyoko held the Oryuken up to block the strike, but Rapidmon Armor X and Rosemon X flew in front of her and helped her stop the Ambros with their own weapons. Takumi and Ami grunted as they used Matrix Link to help push it back. Kyoko and Alphamon chuckled before they all shouted pushing Examon X's weapon away. "Overclock!" Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X shouted before they slammed into Examon X's torso pushing him back.

"Overlcock!" Ami and Rosemon X glowed red before they extended their whips and started swinging them at Examon X, spinning and twirling in a graceful dance. It finished when they coiled their whips around Examon X's horns and pulled him forward. Rapidmon Armor X and Takumi appeared above him and stomped his head into the ground.

Examon X pushed himself up and a roar blew both Cyber Sleuth's and their Digimon away. His mouth glowed red as he prepared to shoot a fireball at them. "Saint Knuckle!" Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko punched his head back into the dirt with their left hand. They then backed up and from their left hand glowed a golden magic circle as Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X disconnected the Armed Arms and Rosemon X and Ami crossed their arms. "Soul Digitilization!"

"Billion Bullet!"

"Rosen Blood!"

Examon howled as red and gold light rained down on him. "Amazing…" Keisuke breathed.

"Hey, we didn't come all this way just to spectate!" Kouta said.

"He's right!" Yuuko nodded. "Let's give them a hand!" The remaining Tamers closed their eyes and charged with their Digimon.

Alphamon Oryuken, Rapidmon Armor X, and Rosemon X all flew into the sky as Examon X swung his tail at them. He ascended after them and spun around. "Draconic Impact!" He charged straight towards the three.

The trio caught Examon and struggled to push back against him but were weakening. Then they noticed Omni, Faye and Noir were all helping them push back. Omegamon Merciful Mode, Yukimura, and Sakuyamon X got above Examon X.

"Graceful Cannon!"

"Final Crest!"

"Uka no Mitama!" Three powerful attacks hit him in the back knocking him to the ground.

"Waltz's End!"

"Fire Tornado!"

"Binding Whirlwind!" Samudramon Fierce Blade Mode, Rikka and Craniamon engulfed the dragon in a tornado of wind and fire.

HerculesKabuterimon X, Diaboromon X, and Infinity were above him. "Giga Blaster!"

"Catastrophe Cannon!"

"Hyper Infinity Cannon!" They both fired right at Examon X in the storm.

After taking the hits the monster broke free. "Thunder Sword Bureiragaha!" He summoned his orbiting blades. This time everyone was ready.

"Splendid Blade of Tranquility!" Yuuko and Samudramon got through one and Yuugo and Craniamon blocked another with their shield then destroyed it with their spear.

"Spooky Zapper!" Arata and Diaboromon X smashed another and Kouta and Yukimura cut through another with Dynas.

"Transcendent Sword!"

"Sprout Rush!" Omni and Takuto destroyed another as Faye and Shiki stabbed another. Rikka and Himari clawed another.

"Chaos Crusher!"

"Supreme Sword!" Mameo and Infinity smashed another with claws and Noir and Shoma cut another.

"Fearsome Blade!"

While Omegamon Merciful Mode and Nokia cut down the tenth, the eleventh blade came at Fei and Sakuyamon as they slammed their staff into the ground. "Amethyst Mandala!" They projected a golden light that dissolved it.

Keisuke and HerculesKabuterimon X flew at the final sword. "Horn Buster Revision!" They tore through it like it was made of paper.

With the swords gone, Alphamon Oryuken, Rapidmon Armor X, and Rosemon Burst Mode got their opening to close in. Takumi and his Digimon struck first. "Rapid Blaster!"

"Rose Rapier!" Ami and Rosemon X struck through Examon X's right wing as Rapidmon Armor X and Takumi shot the left. Examon X screeched as he fell to the ground with a thud.

Alphamon and Kyoko descended towards Examon X. "Ultimate Oryuken!" They swooped in and slashed through Examon X leaving a golden scar that generated and explosion.

Examon X howled in pain. He looked up at the humans and their Digimon and roared getting up and held up Ambros. He roared as the Dragonic Plasma swirling over him unleashing bolts of lightning that crashed into the spear making the green electricity it emitted turn red and grow in size. "Tch. He's going all out now!" Arata and Diaboromon X said.

"Stand back." Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko said as they aproached. "Blade of the Dragon King." They summoned a sword of light into their left hand and put it into the Oryuken making a golden aura glow around it. They held their sword in both hands.

"PENDRAGON SPARKLE!" Examon X roared charging at them with his unleashed Ambros.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko flew right at him. They swung the sword just as the lance was close. White electricity crackled between the Oryuken and Ambros as they clashed. Alphamon Oryuken and Kyoko started to push slightly through, but Examon X howled and his Dragonic Plasma poured more electricity into Ambros increasing its power and pushing the 13th Royal Knight back.

Examon was gaining ground when something hit him in the face. Actually, it was a lot of things at once. All the other Digimon and their Tamers were firing at him from a distance. "Kyoko!" Ami and Rosemon X shouted.

"Alphamon!" Takumi and Rapidmon Armor X yelled.

"GET HIM!" everyone cried out.

Kyoko and Alphamon Oryuken smiled. They batted Ambros aside, backed up and charged. With a loud clang Ambros was slashed in half right in the middle shocking Examon X. Alphamon Oryuken flew overhead and pointed her sword down. "The end!" she and Kyoko yelled bringing the sword down into Examon X's skull. The beast howled lifting his head up, and Alphamon and Kyoko grunted keeping the Oryuken stabbed into him as it emitted white light. With one final howl, light engulfed Examon X blinding everyone.

When the group looked up the dragon had disappeared. "Is…is it over…?" Keisuke and HerculesKabuterimon asked.

Yuugo and Craniamon spotted Alphamon Oryuken on the floor holding an X-Antibody. "They…did it…"

Everyone deactivated the Matrix Link and all but Noir and Craniamon reverted to their prior forms. Ami smiled. "That's our bosses for you."

"ALRIGHT!" Nokia cheered as she and Omegamon flew over. The others followed. "You two actually did it!"

As everyone aproached and dismounted their Digimon they stared at Alphamon. "…Are you alright?" Takumi asked. Kyoko smiled on Alphamon's shoulder then tipped backwards. "KYOKO!" Takumi and Ami ran up and caught the detective as she fell off.

Alphamon dropped the Oryuken and it vanished as she returned to normal dropping to her knees panting. "Alphamon?!" Rosemon X and Rapidmon X ran over. "Are you alright?!"

"Yeah…that…just tired me out more then I thought…I knew humans and their emotions can amplify our strength…but I did not think Kyoko's would provide this much power…"

"Are you saying Kyoko is more emotional than she tries to show?" Nokia teased.

"Is that really so surprising?" Yuuko asked. "Everyone is always hiding their true emotions deep inside their hearts."

Noir nodded. "That is nature to humans and Digimon alike."

"So what kind of emotions did Kyoko grant you Alphamon?" Ami asked.

"That...is going to be a little secret between Kyoko and myself."

"Awww." Takumi and Ami pouted.

"Maybe you'll find out someday."

Both detectives were surprised when Kyoko responded from their arms. "Kyoko!"

"Are you alright?" Mameo asked.

"A bit winded, but nothing too serious." Kyoko climbed down and smiled to the Aibas. "Thanks for catching me by the way."

"You and Alphamon were amazing!" Takumi gleamed.

"Yeah! Examon was more powerful then ever and you still kicked his tail!" Ami added.

Kyoko smiled and shook her head. "No, you two. We defeated Examon together. All of us."

"Agreed." Alphamon nodded. "We only accomplished this by working together."

"Oh?" Rosemon gave the 13th Royal Knight a sly smirk. "I seem to recall you claiming all the credit for yourself when we defeated him in the last reality."

"Hey, it was MY plan that stopped him wasn't it? ...Though I suppose it was selfish of me to pretend that it wasn't executed through a dedicated group effort."

"Oh?" BlackWarGreymon folded his arms. "Dare I say you finally started to mature? Better late then never I guess."

Takumi sighed. "BlackWarGreymon..."

Alphamon laughed. "You certainly are quite the character, but I suppose you bring up a good point. Maybe I wasn't always the most responsible role model for these kids...but I would like to think I did plenty of good with them alongside Kyoko Kuremi."

Kyoko looked at Takumi and Ami. "I would say so. But I think they were not the only ones who have been growing lately."

Alphamon chuckled. "Their experiences with their Digimon are what developed them, did they not? And vice versa. Maybe I just needed a human partner to develop me."

"Partner..." Kyoko grinned. "Matayoshi did always tell me I should consider getting a partner to lean in like how he and my old man had each other. A Digimon partner and two energetic assistants...things are certainly looking up for the Kuremi Detective Agency!"

"Not to ruin the moment..." Shiki said. "But has anyone seen Leopardmon? We didn't find him at the temple."

"Neither did our groups." Fei said. "No sign of BoltBoutamon or even Dynasmon."

"Leopardmon and Dynasmon were never here." Everyone turned to Keisuke. "BoltBoutamon said they left with most of the Next Order somewhere to start Project Nexus."

"As I suspected." Kyoko said. "That's why there were so few enemies. And knowing we would try to attack their base while they were gone, they left Examon and the Celestial Digimon as a trap for us."

"They were expecting Examon to destroy us?" Shoma asked.

"Or stall us for time. It sounds like they're about to kick off something big."

"Damn it..." Takuto looked back at Keisuke. "So, how'd it go on your end? You ran into BoltBoutamon? Did you find the Sovereign DigiCores?"

"It was a copy of BoltBoutamon that disappeared after we defeated it. And the vault was empty."

"Makes sense." Zero replied. "The cores were needed for Project Nexus. Leopardmon must have taken them with him."

"So now what do we do?" Dorugoramon asked.

"First we regroup at the city." Mameo replied. "We need to find out where they went and-

Everyone's Digivices rang, and they picked up to see Mirei. "Well done everyone. Cloud Sanctuary is now liberated from the Next Order."

"Mirei, is the city alright?" Shiki asked.

"About that...I have good news and bad news. ...The good news is the Next Order retreated. There are some casualties, but everything is fine here."

"Guess it all worked out." Arata smirked.

"Not completely." Mirei's dire tone made them all concerned. "The bad news is...BoltBoutamon snuck in here. He took the Brave Snatcher."

"Oh dammit." Fei scowled.

"That's not all...before he left, he took Darcmon with him." Hearing this made the whole group gasp and their faces pale.

The drama never stops, does it? Even with Examon X exterminated (try saying that three times fast) the Next Order still a card to play. Next wee find out what the Resistance does next.
