Flotia was moving through the sky once more. It left Cloud Sanctuary and was now heading for a new destination. And inside the team had once again assembled in the war room. "So, you found em?" Fei asked.
Mirei nodded. "I detected something very suspicious. Right over here." She pointed at the map.
Keisuke looked carefully at it. "Wait a minute…that's close to where we arrived in this world."
"That location!" Omegamon gasped. "There's no doubt…"
"The Mountain of Infinity…" Gallantmon murmured.
Ami looked at Gankoomon. "You told me and my brother about that place. You said King Drasil is…was usually there during peaceful times…"
"Correct. He preferred to watch the Digital World from his chamber inside…"
"That's not all." Samudramon said. "That place is where we battled the Mother Eater and Suedou for the fate of our worlds."
"Wait, there was no mountain there." Nokia said. "Just a really deep hole."
"The Eaters most likely eroded the entire mountain." Ophanimon replied.
"So, this is where King Drasil usually is, and therefore is most likely where Leopardmon and his gang destroyed him." Mameo said. "And to top it all off, it's where the final battle against the Eaters took place. Anyone else finding it hard to believe that's all just a coincidence?"
"There's more." Mirei said. "What I detected in that area…is a massive concentration of Digital Waves."
"Say what?!" Arata gaped.
Koh looked at the group. "Digital Waves? What's that?"
"It's kind of hard to explain…" Ami replied. "But long story short they enabled digital beings to exist in certain areas of the human world."
"Like Digimon?" Luche asked.
"Or Eaters." Yuugo replied. "In the previous reality, Crusadermon manipulated Digital Waves to her advantage. That's how she and the others invaded in their attempt to destroy our world."
"Come to think of it…" Takumi spoke up. "Last time when we defeated Leopardmon he was going to absorb the Digital Waves into himself to become strong enough to wipe our world out."
"Maybe that's what he's up to then." Shiki said. "Trying to get enough power to destroy the entire Resistance all at once!"
"Perhaps." Alphamon replied. "But that still doesn't explain what he needs the Sovereign Digimon DigiCores for."
"True…" Shoma replied.
"At this point that doesn't matter!" Magnamon said. "Nevermind that Leopardmon is about to act, but they have Darcmon and the Brave Snatcher! We need to stop them now!"
"You're right Magnamon." Sayo nodded. "This is no time to dawdle. What's our plan of attack?"
"The Digital Waves are coming from the top of the mountain." Mirei said. "But it seems like Leopardmon set up a barrier."
"Just like what he did at the Metropolitan Building." Yuuko said. "So, we can't fly straight there."
"And I highly doubt that the rest of the Next Order is just going to let us walk through the front door." Hudiemon added.
"Agreed." Kyoko said. "Here's what I'm thinking. First, we'll gather our forces and surround the mountain. Then once we're in position they will attack head on to draw out the bulk of their army. While that's happening, we'll make our way towards Leopardmon, rescue Darcmon, disable the Digital Waves, and defeat the Next Order."
"Sounds like a plan!" Himari said.
"Luche, I want you to stay with me while we're out there." Kyoko said.
"Okay."
"Wait, we're bringing Luche too?" Shiki asked.
"It's too dangerous!" Takuto objected. "It'll be an active warzone out there!"
"Luche's unique existence and coding has proven able to skirt the boundaries of what is considered possible." Kyoko said. "Leopardmon is making his big move here. She might be able to disrupt his plan if all else fails."
"I'll do my best!" Luche said. "And I'm not sitting back while you all fight for everyone!"
Ami smiled. "You're a brave kid Luche. Okay. But stick with Kyoko no matter what."
"Then it is decided." Gankoomon replied. "We will buy you humans all the time we can."
"Agreed." Silphymon nodded. "This one's for all the marbles and we'll give it everything we got."
"Please save Darcmon…" Lilamon said. "We need her…"
"Wait a minute…" Yuuko looked around. "Where is BeelStarmon? And her team?"
"The Legendary Warriors are missing too." Kouta added.
"Oh, they're in the middle of a mission." Mirei replied.
"At a time like this?!" Kentorusmon squinted.
"It could help change the tide. Don't worry, I'll message them to let them know to hurry straight here once they're done."
"Well…this is it gang." Takuto said.
Keisuke nodded. "One way or another, this is coming to an end."
Darcmon was crucified by chains holding her head down. The chains were also tied around the Sovereign DigiCores. Her left arm was chained to Azulongmon's, her right arm to Baihumon's, and her legs were chained to Ebonwumon's. They were now pulsing like beating hearts. BoltBoutamon was observing with Leopardmon. "How much longer will this take?" Leopardmon asked.
"Not much longer." BoltBoutamon replied. "The cores are reaching to each other like we planned. Just need to sync up our lady here with their energy."
Dynasmon approached. "Your majesty. I have confirmed that Cache City is moving towards our location…just as you predicted."
"Rally the men." Leopardmon replied. "Do whatever it takes to keep them away until we are ready."
Dynasmon bowed. "Of course, your majesty…while I will likely not survive the upcoming battle, I can think of no greater honor then dying for what I believe in."
Leopardmon closed his eyes. "You were…one of the best warriors I had under my command Dynasmon. Know that your death will bring honor to the Next Order…and justice to the world."
"Farewell my friend." Dynasmon took his leave.
BoltBoutamon watched him go. "My, my, that almost felt emotional my liege. Compared to Crusadermon and Craniamon, you seem to care."
"Unlike those fools Dynasmon never strayed from the path. His death deserves recognition. In any case, we must hurry. How are things looking with the Digital Waves?"
"Everything is going swimmingly. With the Brave Snatcher we can easily tear down the wall without having to use up waves to wear it down like we initially planned."
"And the strike force should our initial plan fail?"
"Already gathered. Don't worry, I haven't told them where they're going yet."
Leopardmon chuckled. "Very good. …Let Project Nexus…commence!"
BeelStarmon, Gundramon, MagnaKidmon, the Ten Legendary Warriors walked towards a giant tower. "There it is." Agunimon said.
"So, this is the tower GranDracmon was hiding under?" Gundramon asked. "Where Hosaka was previously?"
"The Next Order called it the "Tower of Truth"." Loweemon said.
"Ugh…" Kazemon murmured. "Looking at that place is starting to stir up bad memories…I remember when GranDracmon was holding us prisoner to drain our power…"
"If it's any consolation I doubt it could be any worse then how Vademon treats his prisoners." BeelStarmon replied. She then took out the twin Berejena. "If Mirei's theory is right…then I can see him again."
"Yeah. We can't just leave that idiot be." MagnaKidmon smirked. "We still gotta give him an earful for all the stupid stuff he did."
BeelStarmon smiled at him. "Damn right. Let's do this." They all walked towards the tower.
The humans and their Digimon were standing in the trees overlooking a mountain. "That thing is huge…" Koh said looking up.
Takumi had his goggles on and zoomed in to a cave. "I see a cave entrance up ahead."
"We can enter through there and proceed upward." Omegamon replied.
"We gotta climb the whole thing?" Nokia groaned.
"No choice." Sayo said. "We need to hurry and find Leopardmon before he puts his Project Nexus into action."
"What she said." Hudiemon pulled up a bunch of monitors. "Is everyone in place?"
"Hudie's Dream is standing by." Justimon said.
"Sleuth's Will is raring to go!" Jesmon said.
"Jude's Flare is in position." Gallantmon announced.
"Rebel's Heart is ready." Magnamon declared.
"Zaxon's Pride shall fight to the last Digimon!" Gankoomon said.
"This is it." Kyoko said. "If everyone's ready let's get started. Every second counts."
"Agreed." Mameo said. "Alright everyone. Commence the attack!" When the monitors closed the Resistance roared as their armies stormed the Mountain of Infinity from five different directions.
Dynasmon stood in a dark cavern with his eyes closed. A Knightmon aproached. "Lord Dynasmon. The enemy is approaching. There are five massive armies coming at us from different angels."
"It has begun." Dynasmon activated his X Antibody. "This is it! Everyone move out! For the glory of the Next Order!" The Digimon around him roared.
The Three Musketeers and the Ten Legendary Warriors were proceeding up the Tower of Truth. "Seems like the place has been completely abandoned." Mercurymon said.
"Yeah." Kumamon replied. "No traps, no troops, nothing."
"Not surprising." BeelStarmon replied. "GranDracmon and Lucemon are gone and the Next Order must have all assembled at the Mountain of Infinity."
"I'm worried about the others…" Kazemon sighed.
Ranamon put a hand on her shoulder. "Chin up bestie. They're as tough as the come. They'll pull through."
"If you want to help them then let's focus on our own mission." Arbormon replied. "Having him on our side could be a tremendous boon…assuming this does work, and he does agree to help us."
"It will." BeelStarmon said. "He will. I believe in him."
Agunimon spotted a teleporter. "There it is. This will take us to the top floor. From there is the stairwell that leads to GranDracmon's lair."
"Alright. So, we're about halfway there." Beetlemon said. "Let's move people."
They all stepped inside and were warped to the next room. They looked ahead and gasped. "…Uh oh…" Kumamon whispered.
"Leopardmon had him…but why?!" BlitzGreymon asked.
"It seemed like he wanted Hosaka to keep it a secret…" CresGarurumon said. "A secret Crusadermon was in on."
Kiryu was standing at the desk looking at his Digivice. A sparkling light was in his hand. "Why would Leopardmon have Hosaka do this? What was his goal?"
"It's Brother Sorrow…Or rather Kiryu Tenjo." Grumblemon muttered. "Has he not noticed us?"
"Looks like he's super invested in…whatever he's got going on over there." Kazemon replied. "What's he doing?"
"Better, question, what should we do? Sneak past em? Take em out?" MagnaKidmon asked. Agunimon and Lobomon started striding forward. "Hey!"
Once they got close, BlitzGremon noticed them. "Kiryu!"
The human looked up. "You guys…what are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the exact same question." Agunimon said folding his arms. "Didn't we tell you to go home to Subaru already?"
Kiryu sighed looking away. "…I have considered it…but...before I decided whether or not to do that, I thought I'd take another piece of advice that was offered to me."
"What advice?" Lobomon asked as the rest of the group walked over to them.
"Crusadermon used you by feeding you lies and proved to be very different from who you though she was. Who's to say she's the only one in the Next Order who lied to you? You might want to look into the past actions of the Next Order."
"I thought about what other possible secrets could have been kept from me." Kiryu explained. "Then I remembered the time I noticed Hosaka was trying to create and gather Digital Waves. I assumed it was something he was doing behind everyone's backs but never found out the purpose. So, I came back here where Keisuke said the fool met his demise." He showed everyone what was in his hand. "For this."
"What is that?" Kumamon asked.
Mercurymon held his hand towards it. "I feel…a consciousness from this…"
"It's Hosaka's Data." Kiryu replied. "What remains of his digitalized form. It wasn't easy but…I was able to gather what was left of him after he was destroyed here and re-assembled it so I could access his memories, hopping it would shed some light on his loose ends."
"And?" BeelStarmon asked. "Did you learn anything?"
"Indeed, I did." Kiryu looked at the sparkles. "Hosaka wasn't acting on his own when he was gathering Digital Waves. He was following orders. Leopardmon's orders."
"Leopardmon had him do that?" Loweemon asked. "Why?"
"I don't know. Because Hosaka didn't know. Leopardmon never told what he was planning to do with the Digital Waves. But he wanted him to keep it a secret from everyone, save for Crusadermon. The fact that he was conspiring something with that bitch is…unsettling."
"That's putting it lightly…" Agunimon said. "Digital Waves were used to cause all kinds of chaos in your world, yes? What is Leopardmon up to?"
BeelStarmon stared for a bit longer before turning away. "Well, you have fun with that." She turned towards the secret corridor and walked towards it.
Kiryu looked at her. "And just what are you planning to do here?"
"That's none of your business."
Agunimon was quiet for a bit then turned to Kiryu. "We're trying to see if we can revive Beelzemon."
Everyone looked at the Warrior of Flame in surprise. "What?!" Kiryu gasped.
"Agunimon, what the hell!" Gundramon scowled.
"Kiryu told us what he was doing here, I simply felt we should show the same curtesy. Besides, he's not with the Next Order anymore, so what's the harm?"
"Well, I guess that's true, but…"
"You think you can revive Beelzemon?" Kiryu asked. "How?"
"BeelStarmon recovered his Berejena." Lobomon explained.
When Kiryu looked at the gunwoman, she sighed and took her brother's handguns out. "Traces of my dumbass brother's data are still in here. So, we're thinking if we can expose them to significant dark energy maybe we can restore him. The Dark Area is one option, but we'd rather not go to the place that tore him from us. Then we thought of another option…"
Kiryu thought for a moment. "GranDracmon's lair was under this tower. Maybe there's an energy source you can use…but even if you have his data his body was destroyed."
"That's why we're going to create a new body for him." BeelStarmon put the guns away and took out something else. "With this."
"Is that…" CresGarurumon murmured.
"An X-Antibody!" BlitzGreymon exclaimed.
"This is all just theoretical." BeelStarmon said. "It's not very likely to work…but…If I could just bring my brother back…"
Kiryu stared at her for a bit longer then turned to the passageway. "Let's go."
Everyone looked at him. "Huh?" Bettlemon blinked. "What are you-
"I'm going with you."
"Why?" Ranamon asked. "This has nothing to do with you."
"Maybe not…but…"
"I get it." Gundramon said. "It's empathy. You know what it means to have family torn from you. Well, we appreciate the thought, but this is our family matter and-
"It's not just about empathy. I owe Beelzemon for saving my life."
Everyone was surprised. "You and Beelzemon met before?!" Agunimon asked.
Lobomon was bug eyed. "When?!"
"It was after you two and Subaru were taken by the Eaters and the world went to hell. After I confronted Yuugo- No, Yuuko about what happened in Under Zero…I felt I had nothing left…I spent my days wallowing in the café my friends owned, which had been abandoned after the company ran off to avoid Digimon and Eaters…."
Kiryu sat with his hood up and his head down at an empty table of Satisfaction Bakery which had been long since abandoned and ransacked. Tables were flipped. Glass was shattered. All the lights were either broken or dead. Kiryu sat there alone. With his two Digimon watching over him. "So…" MetalGreymon Alterous Mode said. "This is your friend's bakery, huh? I imagined it would be a bit brighter." He waited for a reply from Kiryu but got none.
WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode sighed and pulled his friend away from Kiryu. "Talking to him is unlikely to do anything to help right now."
"I know, it's just…I feel so powerless! I've never seen him like this! I just wish there was something I could do, anything!"
"I know…but losing his brother…who he promised to protect no matter what…it hurt him beyond healing. What that egotistic "leader" of ours had the nerve to say about it definitely didn't help…"
MetalGreymon Alterous Mode went silent for a moment. "…Even so…I just…I just can't stand seeing him like this. Isn't there something, anything we can- His words were interrupted when they heard a bang. "What the…?"
The two Digimon looked at the door. Another bang. A Humanoid Eater was banging on the glass. A swarm of Eaters of Purebred and Humanoid form were with it. "Oh, no…" WereGarurumon Sagittarius brought out his claws.
MetalGreymon Alterous aimed his weapon. "Kiryu! We got company! And I don't think they're here for pastries!" The human didn't reply. "Kiryu!"
The door along with a large section of the wall went down. "Here they come!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius rushed in and started cutting up Eaters with his claws as MetalGreymon Alterous fired at them. WereGarurumon Sagittarius dashed up and cut down two. He jumped over the tentacles of another then dived into it. He caught more tentacles before swinging an Eater into another. "Kiryu, we're boxed in!"
MetalGreymon Alterous fired at three of them. When tentacles coiled around his cannon arm, he pulled the Eater in and crushed it in his other hand. He fired a few more times before another jumped onto him and he threw it off. "Kiryu, we need to do something!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode threw an Eater into another then got tackled against a wall. He growled trying to pry away the tentacles. MetalGreymon Alterous Mode was about to fire at it when the long arms of a humanoid Eater grabbed him and pulled him over. Once he was toppled onto the ground two more pinned him down.
WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode ripped a tentacle off the Eater on him and clawed it then to his horror saw some passing them and making their way towards their partner. "Kiryu!" He ran towards him, but two tentacles got his arms from behind.
MetalGreymon Alterous Mode fired at some of them approaching Kiryu from behind but more pulled away his cannon arm. "Kiryu, run!"
Kiryu finally tilted his head up to see a Humanoid Eater in front of him. It's arms slowly extended towards the human who closed his eyes accepting his fate.
"Double Impact!" A shower of bullets flooding into the cafe tearing all the Eaters apart instantly.
MetalGreymon Alterous Mode and WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode were released and slowly got up looking behind them. "What just..." WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode murmured.
"So...what are we celebrating?" A tall Digimon with three eyes, a blue mask and a two pistols stood just outside the door. "Cause, it looks like someone's been throwin' a hell of a party in here."
As WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode prepared his claws, MetalGreymon Alterous Mode aimed his cannon. "Who the hell are you?!"
"They call me...Beelzemon."
"B-Beelzemon?!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode stuttered. "One of the Seven Deadly Digimon...?! Here?!"
"Relax, if I wanted to kill you two, you'd be dead. But I don't like picking on those weaker than me." Beelzemon spotted Kiryu who had yet to turn to him. He slowly walked over. MetalGreymon Alterous Mode and WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode first thought to stop him but all the did was stand there and tremble. Beelzemon stood on the other end of Kiryu's table. "The hell are you doing loitering around here? This city isn't the safest spot for moping. Go home."
Kiryu finally spoke. "I have no home. I failed to keep my promise to my family. I have no right to return."
Beelzemon stared at him. "What do you mean?"
"My little brother...who I promised to do anything for...was devoured by these monsters. I wasn't there when he needed me the most. Now he's gone..."
"...Is that so? So now you're just gonna sulk in this rathole waiting for the end?"
"Waiting for the end"?" Kiryu chuckled. "It's already over. I have nothing now..."
Beelzemon stared at him a moment longer the pushed the table between them aside and grabbed him lifting him up then punched him to the ground. "Kiryu!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode ran towards them.
"You bastard!" MetalGreymon Alterous Mode aimed his weapon at Beelzemon.
Beelzemon fired right in front of their feet stopping them. He then looked back at Kiryu. "...I never did think much of you humans...but I wasn't expecting any of you to be this pathetic."
Kiryu groaned sitting up. "What's it mater to you?"
"What maters is it pisses me off! Did you not even notice those two over there nearly died protecting you?! They would fight for a life you saw no value in, and you think you have nothing?!" Kiryu looked at his Digimon. "...I...I know what it means to part with family. And to want to protect them no matter the price. But do you really think you throwing your life away us going to make your brother any happier?! Surly as long as you are still alive there is something you can do for him! Even if it is only helping him find peace!"
Kiryu looked at him in surprise. "But then...what can I...what am I supposed to do?"
"Hmph. Figure that out on your own. You need to make your own damn decisions in your life. I'm done here." He walked away. Kiryu's Digimon stood there as he left. And he just sat there on the floor.
"I see..." Lobomon replied.
BeelStarmon chuckled. "My dear brother never was one to show tact."
"Maybe not, but his words sparked something in me." Kiryu replied. "So, I reflected on them as we left the cafe. Then..."
Kiryu proceeded down the empty street. "Something I can do for Subaru..."
Inside his Digivice his Digimon observed. "Well...this is an improvement over his previous state." MetalGreymon Alterous Mode said.
WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode nodded. "True. The question is what will he do next?"
"Well, whatever he decides on, I'm going to support him all the way to the end."
"Heh. You and me both."
Kiryu's eyes remained on the sidewalk he walked on when he heard a scream. He turned towards the ally where it came from. "What the...?!" He ran straight for it and went inside. He ran deeper until he hit an intersection and looked around before seeing a swarm of Eaters on his right.
Backed against the wall there was a group of kids. One of them was a girl who had blond hair and was wearing a red hoodie with animal ears and black shots with red boots. A large boy with red headband, and orange sleeveless vest over a white shirt and brown trousers wearing sandals. One had brown hair a white shirt, brown overalls and glasses and the last one was a girl with long black hair tied into two long twin tails wearing a purple dress, grey slacks and black heels. "S-stay away!" the smaller boy screamed.
"Please don't eat us!" The larger boy crouched covering his head. "I might have eaten a lot of fish, but I never ate a squid I swear!"
The black-haired girl looked ready to go crazy with fear. "Th-this is just a nightmare...that's it...I'll just close my eyes and..."
The blond girl shivered in tears as the Eaters drew close. "Subaru...help us!"
Kiryu ran towards them holding out his Digivice. "MetalGreymon! WereGarurumon! Go!" His two Digimon emerged and sprung into action.
Yellow energy glowed around MetalGreymon Alterous Mode's weapon arm. "Alter Blade!"
WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode's blades extended and glowed blue. "Kaus-slugger!"
They annihilated the Eaters from behind saving the children who whimpered with their eyes shut. It took a while for them to realize that something was off. They looked up and saw the two Digimon. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" The black-haired girl was hiding behind the two boys who were holding each other, and the blond girl was pointing at them bug eyed.
"Probably should have seen this coming." MetalGreymon Alterous Mode squinted.
WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode sighed. "Yeah. With the way the human world is its little wounder that humans are jumpy."
"Did the squids turn onto a giant dragon and a wolf?!" the shortest in the crowd gaped.
"Don't be ridiculous!" The black-haired girl shook him. "Those two crushed those things!"
"What if they just ate them?!" The larger boy asked. "And now it'll have us for dessert!"
"Calm down." Kiryu said stepping out from behind his Digimon. "These two are with me."
The blond looked at him. "W-who are you...? What do you mean with you? Are these...not like the monster's wreaking havoc in Tokyo?"
"We are called Digimon." WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode replied.
"Digi...mon...?" The short kid blinked. "Wait...I heard that name on the internet!"
"Aren't those things tools for hacking?!" The black-haired girl looked at Kiryu. "Are you a hacker?! Are you here to steal from us?! I'll call the cops!"
"Mind your tongue girl." MetalGreymon Alterous Mode scowled. "Kiryu may be a hacker, but his intentions are not malicious. Otherwise, he would not have ordered us to save your pitiful life."
"Forget it." Kiryu replied. "What others think of me means nothing. Besides, I merely acted on a whim. Let's go." He and his Digimon turned around to leave.
"Wait!" The blond girl looked at him. "Are you...Kiryu Tenjo?" Kiryu didn't reply.
"Tenjo?" The other girl looked at her friend then remembered something. "Wait, THAT'S Subaru's older brother?!"
Kiryu stooped and looked over his shoulder in surprise. "You know Subaru?"
The blond girl ran up to him. "My name is Misora. I'm Subaru's classmate."
"Yeah!" The larger boy said as he and the other kids aproached. "Subaru's our bud from school!"
"Subaru never told me he made friends." Kiryu said turning around to them fully.
"Well, he used to not have any." the girl with black hair said. "He used to have a total attitude. And he never listened to what anyone told him! Then one day he slowly started to change. He started talking to people instead of avoiding them. He even started to smile and hang out with others..."
"...Is that so?"
Misora spoke up. "Just before this crazy stuff happened the school announced that he was in the hospital. But they wouldn't tell us why...Kiryu, what happened to Subaru, is he alright?!"
Kiryu clenched a fist as his Digimon looked at him worryingly. "Subaru..." Kiryu murmured. He lowered his hood. "He..."
The larger boy gasped. "Look!"
Everyone looked where he was pointing more Eaters were gathered on the rooftops and climbing down. The black-haired girl screamed. "More of them?!"
They dropped down one by one and slowly started to approach. "What even are those things?!" The small boy yelped. "Are they Digimon too?! Why do they keep attacking us?!"
"They're referred to as Eaters." WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode snarled. "And all they give a damn about is their hunger."
"We lost many comrades to these monsters." MetalGreymon Alterous Mode glared.
"...That's right..." Kiryu said. "They're the ones who...took him from me. From his friends and family."
The kids looked at the teenager uneasily. "Kiryu...?" Misora whispered.
"Stay behind me." Kiryu aproached the horde. "MetalGreymon...WereGarurumon..." He looked up with a vicious look in his eye. "Kill them all. Don't let a single one escape!"
The two Digimon rushed. They dodged tentacles as they aproached before their weapons started tearing into them one by one. As one wave disappeared a new one arrived. "Positron Blaster!"
"Alnas Shot!" They both fired into the increasing swarm. But most of the Eaters dodged while the ones that were destroyed were replaced by new ones. Soon some reached the Digimon and grabbed them, but they still kept firing at them.
"It's no use..." the small boy gulped. "They're too many of them..."
"It's really all over this time..." the black-haired girl whimpered.
"No." Kiryu glared. "No matter how many of these wretched beasts roam the earth..."
"We will kill them!" MetalGreymon Alterous Mode snarled.
"All of them!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode yelled.
Kiryu took out his Digivice and shouted alongside his Digimon. "EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!"
Both of Kiryu's Digimon exploded with light that blew the Eaters off them. "What's happening...?!" Misora breathed.
"HAAAAAAAA!" Kiryu held up his Digivice shouting in rage as it glowed brighter.
"MetalGreymon Alterous Mode...Digivolve to...!" MetalGreymon Alterous Mode's body was engulfed by red and black energy. A red arm with gatling firearms for a hand came out then another. Then a red armored face with silver hair emerged. As the burst of red and black died down his entire body clad in red armor with two cannons mounted on his shoulders emerged. "BlitzGreymon!"
"WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode...Digivolve to...!" WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode flew up and golden boots flew after him and attached to his feet. Then a chest plate followed by shoulder pads and gauntlets. A cape and white ponytail flowed behind him. Finaly a golden mask fell down, and a large spear appeared in his hand. "CresGarurumon!"
Both Digimon roared in their new forms. "Wow..." the larger boy gapped.
"Kiryu!" BlitzGreymon pointed his weapons at the Eaters. "Our strength..."
"Is yours!" CresGarurumon held his spear forward. "If you decide something is your enemy...we will terminate it!"
"Thank you." Kiryu looked at his Digivice then held it forward. "Now go! Subaru's tormentors must suffer!"
The two Digimon shouted running at the swarm. BlitzGreymon destroyed an Eater with one punch then when a Humanoid came at him, he pinned its head to the ground with his fist then fired directly into it's face. Three Purebreeds lunged at him. "Elect Guard." A forcefield appeared catching and electrocuting them.
CresGarurumon cut through more Eaters cleanly with his spear. When multiple surrounded him, he held his weapon forward. "Beast Cyclone!" He roared spinning in place becoming a golden tornado that cut through them like a hot knife through butter.
"No way..." the girl with black hair whispered. "What power..." Misora stared at Kiryu's back thinking about something her friend once said.
"Maybe you'll meet my big brother someday. People say he's scary but he's not such a bad guy. He just gets stressed out easily. Especially when it comes to me...but he's a nice person deep down."
"Subaru..."
"Plasma Stake!" BlitzGreymon fired golden energy bullets everywhere ripping the entire hoard to pieces.
"Eaters..." Kiryu glared. "You are selfish greedy beings who do nothing but prey on the weak! For my brother and all of your countless victims..."
"Fury: Ice Moon Fang!" CresGarurumon spun his spear as ice gathered around him and when he slammed it on the ground a trail of ice trapped the entire hoard of Eaters.
BlitzGreymon's shoulder cannons turned towards them and revved up gathering electricity. Kiryu stood in front of him illuminated by the glow as he gave his targets a glare that would pierce their souls if they had any. "Are you prepared to face judgment?!"
"Thunder Vernier!" BlitzGreymon let loose his attack that flooded the alleyway with electricity. It vaporized every last Eater. All that was left was the burnt down pavement and one heavily damaged Purebred Eater that somehow barely survived.
Misora and her friends stood there in shock. "Holy cow..." the small boy gapped.
Kiryu walked up to the sole surviving Eater. "Tell me something monster. Can you feel fear? Helplessness? The very things you inflicted on Subaru before your filthy kind made him another victim?"
Misora gasped. "Subaru…?" The eye of the Eater twitched and looked at Kiryu scaring her. "Kiryu, look out!"
The Eater instantly lunged at Kiryu who did not even flinch as it was caught in mid-air by CresGarurumon and lifted off the ground. "It seems all you can feel is hunger." Kiryu said. "What pathetic unsightly creatures. You don't deserve to exist." He snapped his fingers and CresGarurumon roared as he started stretching the Eater apart. It made a shrieking sound as it was slowly ripped apart terrifying Misora and her friends. The two halves of the body dissolved in CresGarurumon's hands, and the eye dropped to the ground. It was still moving until BlitzGreymon stomped on it.
"Urk…" the little boy murmured. "That was…ferocious…"
"Yeah…" the larger boy gulped. "I wanna thank him for saving us, but…"
When Kiryu looked at them they shivered. "…Get home as fast as you can. If you see anymore of them run. If they touch you, you will be trapped in a coma."
"Is that…" Misora whimpered. "Is that what happened to Subaru?"
Kiryu immediately averted his gaze and turned ahead. "…Thank you all. …For being my brother's friends." He ran back the way he came into the ally.
"Wait! Kiryu!" Misora was about to run after him, but her female friend grabbed her arm and shook her head.
When Kiryu exited the alleyway, he stopped running and put his hood back on. His faithful Digimon were at his side. "Kiryu…" BlitzGreymon said.
"What now?" CresGarurumon asked.
"Now…we avenge Subaru. No one else should suffer his fate." Kiryu looked at his hand. "And so…We will destroy every last Eater." He clenched his fist. "We will hunt them down just as they hunted humans and Digimon. None of them will survive!" He heard a scream and saw a couple running across a street and three Eaters following them. When BlitzGreymon shot one of them dead the other two looked at Kiryu and his Digimon. BlitzGreymon flew towards the Eaters, CresGarurumon sprinted at them holding his spear tightly and Kiryu screamed like a demon as he ran towards them.
"We spent the remainder of the previous reality slaying Eaters." Kiryu said as he concluded his story.
"I see..." Agunimon said.
"Not only did he save me, but meeting with Beelzemon rekindled my fire. He gave me the courage to keep trying...when I was ready to accept the end. I probably wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for him."
"That's Beelzemon for ya." MagnaKidmon chuckled. "Even as a Deadly Digimon he cared about helpin' others. In his own dumb way."
"That's why I want to repay him." Kiryu replied. "I was saddened to hear he passed before I had the opportunity. But if there is a chance, I can save him...even if it's a slight one..."
BelleStamon stared at him a bit longer then smiled. "Alright. Come along kid. We gotta find that lair. Think you can lead the way?"
"Of course." Kiryu turned towards the doorway. "Follow me."
With most of the Next Order army in disarray, Hudiemon was able to lead the humans into a cave in front of the mountain. "Okay, we're in." Kouta said.
"There should be a pathway upward in here." Omegamon said.
"We must make haste." Samudramon said. "Every second wasted gives Leopardmon more time to complete his goal."
"Whether you make haste or not is irrelevant." The team jolted at a voice and saw Dynasmon X approaching. "You will not stop what is coming."
