Let's see what happens when the Clawson's get discharged from the hospital.

Also, there is a very emotional scene at the end. Be forewarned.

Felina and Alex were finally allowed to go home. Daniella and Cheryl entered the room, seeing Jake, holding Alex in his arms, while Felina was resting in a wheelchair. "Can someone tell me, yet again, why I can't walk out of here?" Felina asked, obviously not happy being in the chair.

"You could, and you will be back in that bed again. Once you collapse in front of the Hospital's entrance, that is," Daniella said.

"You know, that's not exactly Good Bedside manner," Felina said.

"And you weren't, exactly the best patient either, Miss Feral," Daniella rebutted. "Most of the Maternity Nurses, feared coming in here to check on you, knowing there could be a plate aiming at their heads."

"Is it my fault that the food here is worse than what I used to make?"

"No, its not. However, using the dinner wear as a frisbee is not condoned!"

"I only did that, once," Felina said with a smile.

Daniella rolled her eyes, turned to her sister, then asked, "You signed. The Discharge Papers already, right Cheryl?"

"Yes, I did, big sis! I'm going to miss my favorite patient," Cheryl said, walking over to Alex. Then crouching down so she could tickle him, under his chin. "You be a Good Boy for Daddy and Mommy, and maybe when I see you next, we can play again."

Alex chortled in delight, as Cheryl tickled him.

"Cheryl, you are too much like dad," Daniella said.

"So? Dad is the Chief of Staff here, and everyone loves working with him. I'm actually honored you think I'm like him, sis," Cheryl said.

"It wasn't meant as a compliment, sis. Stop playing with the kitten, you have other patients to see, and they have to go home," Daniella said.

Cheryl stopped tickling Alex, stood back up, then said, "Can't help myself, Daniella. Playing with my patients is one of the best parts of my position." She kissed Alex between the ears, then said, "By little one. Jake, make sure you make his appointment for his follow up."

"Don't worry, I will," Jake responded.

The pager Cheryl was wearing on her belt started beeping. She removed it from her belt, read the message, then said, "I have to go, see you three soon!" And ran out of the room.

"Cheryl loves her job. She would spent every night here, with her patients, if she could. I sort of envy her, she gets to take care of kittens of all ages, and gets to play right along with them. Sometimes, I've gone up to see her, only to witness her, and our father playing ball with her patients. One day, I see her, taking my father's place as Chief of Staff. If he ever retires that is. Felina, you also need to make a Follow-up appointment to be checked out," Daniella said, before she turned to leave. But before she slipped out of the door, she said, "And no sex, for about a month."

"Really?! A whole month!?" Felina bellowed.

"Really, a whole month! The Birth Canal takes a beating, during a birth. Its needs time to heal. So no.. Well, if you want to have some fun, you can. I'm sure you both can figure something out," Daniella said before leaving.

"Dr. Feldman's family is one of a kind. All three of them care for their patients, like no other doctors I've ever seen,". Jake said, then kissed Alex.

"That they are. Can we get out of here? We have seen way too much of this place in the past few months," Felina said.

She was wheeled out of the hospital, with Alex cradled in her lap to the circular driveway and the waiting limousine.

"Jake, where is MY car?" she asked.

"You didn't expect to be driving after being discharged, did you?" Jake asked. "I called in a favor with Diana, and had her send a car to bring us back home."

Alice opened the door to her brand new stretch Mercedes limo. It was so new, it still had the temporary plates still attached to the rear window. The sun reflected off its paint and pristine chrome trim. She walked around the back of the limo and opened the passenger's door. She broke away from the limo and fell to her knees in front of Felina, saying, "He's so handsome, Felina! Can I hold him?"

"I don't see why not, Alice," Felina replied, slowly passing Alex into Alice's waiting arms.

Alice took Alex from her and brought him into her body, looking at the tiny form in her arms. "He's so small, but feels wonderful. One day, I hope Mike and I will have a kitten together."

"You might, Alice," Jake said.

Alice handed Alex back to Felina, rose to her feet, then said, "Let's get you home. Diana made sure to give me the Mercedes for this special occasion. She wanted to make sure, your son arrived home in style."

As she stood, Jake took notice that Alice was wearing her old uniform. "Alice, what happened to the uniform the drivers were supposed to be wearing, when they work for me?" He asked.

"I'm not working for Claw-Tek, Jake. The contract specifically states, we are to wear slacks when we work for Claw-Tek Industries. I'm working for you, hence I can wear my old uniform," Alice replied.

"She's got you, Jake," Felina said.

Jake watched as Alice returned to the limo to assist them into the limo.

But what caught both Felina and Jake's attention was the way Alice's leggings formed to every curve and dip on her lower half, making her appear almost naked.

Alice turned back around, saw her friend's faces, and asked, "Is everything alright?"

"Alice, please don't take this the wrong way, but those leggings should be illegal. I can almost see, every inch of your lower body, clearly in them," Felina said.

Alice turned her head around to inspect her back in the reflection of the limo's paint. She lifted her tail out of the way, then realized, her backside was fully on display for all to see. As she lowered her tail t its normal position, she said, "I was wondering why; Mike dropped the stack of plates he was carrying when I was putting on my boots. I'm going to have to wear these more often, especially when I go into heat. Come on, we have a long drive ahead of us."

An hour later, Alice made the final turn onto their street. A few blocks away from their destination, she noticed a large white banner with blue letters, stating, "Welcome Home Alex!", spanning the street from two light posts. "I guess your friends had something to do with this."

Jake and Felina looked through the windshield at the banner, then Jake said, "I'll be." While a tear left Felina's left eye.

Alice pulled up to the house and stopped the car. She slid out of the drivers seat, closing the door. She walked over to the driver's side passenger door, opened it, and looked inside. To see Alex, completely asleep in the black leather infant car seat, with his parents on either side, looking adoringly at their little miracle. "Your family is waiting."

Jake stepped out of the car, while Felina, undid the straps holding Alex in his seat. Once the straps were removed, she lifted him from the seat, resting him against her shoulder, then handed the sleeping kitten to his father.

Jake took his son from Felina and held him to his body. 'This is amazing! I'm the father to this awesome boy!' He thought before looking over at Felina as she slipped out of the limo. 'And I get to raise him, with her, as my wife.'

Felina went over to where Jake was standing, slipped her right arm through his left, then said, "Our family is probably in the house, or in the yard. Knowing Callie the way I do, she has something planned."

Jake turned back to Alice, then said, "Thank you, Alice and extend my thanks to Diana."

"Was my pleasure, to drive home your precious little one, Jake," she replied, closing the door. "I have to head back to the city. Tonight, I get to drive some executive around."

"Please be careful," Jake said.

"Don't worry about me too much. I've been taking a few of Felicia's classes. I know, quite well how to take care of a tom that gets to of line." She walked around the driver's side of the limo, got into the car, closed the door, and drove away.

As Soon as the car was out of sight, the front door to the house opened, revealing Beatrice and Zeus. Both were dressed very causal, and as soon as Beatrice saw Alex's tiny tail, poking out from under Jake's right elbow, she took off down the walk, to remove her grandson from his father. She gently lifted the tiny kitten from Jake, brought Alex up to her face, and nuzzled the tiny form, saying, "You're so handsome! I simply love holding you in my arms!"

"Mother, don't get too attached to my son!" Felina said.

"Hush, daughter. Let an old she-cat have her time with her grandson," Beatrice said, before she kissed Alex on the left cheek.

"Father! Can you do something with mother?" Felina pleaded.

"No, I can't, Felina. Your mother has changed for the better. You had better get used to her being around. I think she wants to move out her, to be closer to Alex," Zeus said.

"What!? I can't see her, giving up living on the island. Everything she knows is out there!" Felina said.

"Everything, except my grandson, daughter. I want to see him grow to become like his grandfather."

"And what's wrong with him, growing up like his father?" Jake asked.

"Absolutely nothing," Beatrice said. "If that is what Bast desires, then that is what will be. However, if Alex managed to get a body, very similar to my husbands, he will have his pick of she-cats, when he's older, of course."

Felina marched over to her mother, snatched Alex from her, then said, "He was born two days ago mother! He, nor I am ready to be contemplating him dating!"

His mother's actions, woke the tiny kitten. His eyes fluttered open, then scrunched up his face and started crying.

Both Felina and Jake focused on Alex and Felina sweetly said, "Momma's got you. All is alright. Go back to sleep."

Alex heard his mother's voice and opened his eyes to see her face, focused on him alone. He stopped crying, let out a mew, then fell back to sleep.

"You are really embracing motherhood, Felina," Jake said.

"Thanks dear," Felina responded. "When I was younger, I never thought I would become a mother of anything. Now, I can't imagine my life, without my son." She turned her head to face her own mother, then asked, "Mother, did you feel the same way, when you had each one of us?"

"I wish I did, Felina. By the time you were born, I've had four boys already. The feeling of having this tiny form, needing everything from you was long gone." She wiped away a small tear from her eye, then continued, "For that, I'm truly sorry. As I said in the hospital, I want to change. I want to be there or my grandson, and mostly, I want to be the mother to you, I should have been, when you were younger."

Felina handed Alex over to Jake, and went over to her mother. She then did something, she never thought she would ever do. She hugged her mother.

Daniella felt she needed a break. She removed her scrubs, throwing them into the waste bin, before donning her long white Doctor's coat and leaving the locker room. She walked down the hall, past several of the rooms, which contained new mothers, with their families, and smiled. She loved hearing the cries of the kittens she helped come into this world.

Daniella stopped in front of the elevator bank, pressing the button to summon one of the cars to take her to the Pediatric Ward to see her sister. The door to the elevator to her right opened and she entered, turning around to face the doors, right before they closed.

The doors opened again, revealing a small hall with a pair of heavy steel security doors, which on the other side was the Pediatric Ward. The Hospital's staff led by her father, deemed the kittens in the hospital's care will be protected at all costs. That decision made the board furious with him. However, after a few kitten-napping attempts, which of course failed, the board approved the changes, wholeheartedly.

Daniella left the elevator and went to the security desk, showing her hospital ID to the guard, who nodded to her and opening the doors, letting her pass through. The sounds of young kittens, laughing and playing hit her ears instantly. The whole area felt more like a playground, rather than a ward in a hospital. She walked further into the ward, where a wayward ball happened to cross her path. She stopped the ball with her heeled left foot, turned her head to the right in the direction the ball came from. "I guess this belongs to you?" She asked, the young boy, standing in the doorway.

"Sorry doctor, it got away from us, it won't happen again," he said.

Daniella lightly kicked the ball over to the boy, following it to stand in front of him, then said, "Its perfectly alright. Why don't I get my sister, and we all can have a little fun?"

"You would do that, for us? He asked.

Daniella crouched down to his level, then answered, "Sure, I might not be as young as my sister, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun." She stood back up, then said, "Cheryl's always been a better ball player than I was, let me get her, and we will see what games we can come up with."

"You're 's sister? No offense doctor, your sister is cute, but you could be a beauty queen," he said.

Daniella ran her fingers through her long black hair, which had a few streaks of gray, indicating her age. She picked up the boy, kissed his right cheek, then said, "I appreciate the sentiment. You're quite handsome yourself. The she-cats had better watch out for you when you get older." She put him back down, then said, "Cheryl is going to love, hearing a much younger tom, thinks I'm better looking than she is. I'll be right back."

She walked further into the ward, past the Newborn kittens, where the city's newest residents were resting and past the NICU where the pre-mature infants were taken care of. It was a gut wrenching sight. Seeing those very tiny forms, hooked up to an IV and other machines to monitor their vital signs. However, those tiny kittens were always showered with love from their parents as well as the staff.

She stopped at the Doctor's Lounge, figuring her sister stopped long enough to get something to drink, or possibly to eat. She opened the door, to hear her sister, sobbing in the background. She ran to her as fast as her heels would let her. And when she saw her, the sight broke her heart.

Daniella sat down on the bench, right next to Cheryl, placed her right arm around her sister's shoulders, brought her to her, then asked, "Cheryl, I've always seen you with a large smile on your face, when you are here. You love your job, so, why are you crying? You can tell me anything."

Cheryl's repose was to wrap her arms tightly around her sister, bawl her eyes out into her left shoulder.

"I have you, Cheryl. Cry as much as you want," Daniella said, trying her best to comfort her sister.

"I couldn't save him, Daniella," she said between bouts of tears.

"You couldn't save who, sis? Daniella asked.

Cheryl lifted her head from her shoulder, then said, "I was paged to the ED, for a eight year old, that was struck by a fast moving car. I followed the ED's protocols, exactly as dad wrote them. X-Rays were taken, vital signs were monitored, blood was taken to be analyzed. Nothing appeared to be out of the norm, with the exception of a few broken bones and severe bruising. We were getting ready to transfer him here for further monitoring and treatment, when his eyes rolled back in his head and his blood pressure dropped. Everyone in the room scrambled to work immediately. We hung three units on blood, got him on O2, and started CPR. I even had a Cardiologist paged for assistance. Then, we all heard that horrible tone from the monitor, letting us know he was crashing. I gave the order for 100 of Epi, and asked for the De-Fib. As the drug was administered, I ripped open his shirt and placed the paddles on his chest. I shocked him, bringing his heart back into Sinus, only to have it stop beating again. I shocked him again, same results. I was determined not to give up. I shocked his heart one last time, then started chest compressions. The Chief Resident entered the room and noticed what was going on. He took one look at the kitten, then to the monitors, and ordered me to stop compressions. I told him I was not giving up. But he grabbed my paws in his, and told me, the kitten was gone. There was nothing else I could do. I ran to of there, feeling I have failed and ended up here as you have found me."

"This was the first time one of your patients died in front of you?" Daniella asked.

Cheryl simply nodded.

"It doesn't get any easier, sis. It actually gets harder, especially when your patients are newborns or new mothers. Do you have any idea how many times, I watched my patient die while I'm holding their kitten in my paws or delivering a Still Born kitten? I've felt the same thing you are feeling several times over, Cheryl and it never gets easier. Dad will tell you, how many times I walked into his office, slumping to the floor, crying my eyes out and telling him I wanted to quit. Dad always talked me into continuing, telling I me I was a great doctor, how my patients loved me, and how I should start my own practice. He also told me how many patients died in his care, or on the table right in front of him, and there was nothing he could have done about it. We care for our patients, Cheryl. That's what makes us great doctors. I was telling Jake and Felina earlier, You have the potential to take Dad's place as Chief of Staff, I see so much of him in you, sis. Don't ever stop caring for your patents, and you will be one of the best Pediatricians in the hospital, if not the entire city," Daniella said.

"Do you really think, I can take dad's job?" Cheryl asked, tears stained the fur on her cheeks.

"I can't think of a better cat to do so, Cheryl. And I'm sure, dad will feel the same way," Daniella said.

Cheryl embraced her sister again, then said, "Thank's sis, I needed to hear that."

"No problem, Cheryl. I love you." Daniella said.

"I love you too, Daniella," Cheryl said.

"There is a young boy, down the hall, who I promised, we'd play with. Wash up and let's see if we can get dad and Felicia to come play with us, or better yet, let's see if the Feldman daughters can beat their father at his own game?" Daniella said.

"I like the way you think, sis," Cheryl said, wiping away the remaining tears she had.

Daniella stood up, walked over to the door on the lounge, then said, "Oh, I forgot. The kitten said, you're cute."

Cheryl smiled, then asked, "He really said that?"

"Yes he did. He also said I could be a Beauty Queen. I guess I take more after mom than dad, unlike you," Daniella said.

Cheryl picked up a cushion and threw it at her sister. It missed Daniella as she slipped out of the door. Then Cheryl said, "Well, we'll see about that!"
