Dawn's Friend, and Hot Springs
Lincoln's group continue making their way towards Veilstone City for Lincoln's next gym battle, as well as Dawn and Stella's next Pokemon Contest.
"What did you think of Barry, Lincoln?" Clyde asked his best friend.
"He's tough, I'll give him that." said Lincoln.
"Do you think you'll run into him again?" asked Luna.
"If he's going for the Sinnoh League, then chances are I'll most likely see him soon enough." said Lincoln.
"We should find a place we and our Pokemon can rest up for a while." said Stella. Dawn thinks for a while before she gets an idea.
"I know where we can go." said Dawn.
"What do you mean?" Sam replied.
"I have a friend whose family runs a resort around here." said Dawn.
"What's it like?" asked Lincoln.
"It has one of the best hot springs here in Sinnoh." said Dawn.
"Really?" asked Clyde with interest.
"That sounds so relaxing." said Stella.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to check it out." said Lincoln.
"Let's go then!" said Dawn as she grabs Lincoln's arm, making him blush and Stella growl, and starts pulling him down a path with everyone else following after them.
They soon reach a wooden building where they see a young girl with reddish-brown hair, wearing a green robe with white trim, over a yellow orange hoodie, red shorts, and white sneakers, standing in front of it, talking to three small brown Pokemon with dark brown stripes, along with pink pig snouts.
"What are those Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he points his pokedex at one of the Pokemon.
"Swinub, the Pig Pokemon. It loves eating mushrooms that grow under dead grass. It also finds hot springs while foraging." said Lincoln's pokedex; hearing the narration makes the girl look towards the group, with her eyes locking on Dawn.
"Hi!" the girl shouts to Dawn.
"Leona!" Dawn replied as she runs towards her friend with the others following after her.
"Hey, Dee-Dee!" said the girl now known as Leona, making Dawn stop in her tracks.
"Don't call me that!" Dawn yells before she calms down. "But I'm glad to see you, Leona."
"I'm glade to see you, too, Dawn." said Leona. She then looks towards the rest of Lincoln's group. "Who are they?"
"This is Lincoln Loud." said Dawn, pointing at Lincoln. She then points at Clyde. "That's his friend, Clyde McBride." She points at Stella while frowning. "That's Stella Zhau."
"I'm Lincoln's girlfriend." said Stella, glaring at Dawn, who glares at her back. Dawn points at Luna.
"That's Luna Loud, Lincoln's older sister." said Dawn. She points at Sam. "That's Luna's girlfriend, Sam Sharp." She then points at Simon. "And that's Sam's brother, Simon."
"It's a pleasure to meet you all." said Leona.
"Nice to meet you, also." said Lincoln.
"So what brings you here, Dee-Dee?" Leona asked Dawn, making her frown.
"First, don't call me that." said Dawn. "And second, we came here to check out the hot springs here."
"Sure." said Leona. "Right this way, everybody." She then leads Lincoln's group into the resort and leads them all to the changing rooms. Moments later, Lincoln, Clyde, Stella, Dawn, Luna, and Sam step out of the changing rooms, wearing swimsuits; Simon didn't have swim trunks, so he decides to just dip his feet into the hot spring.
"Next town we get to, Simon, I'll buy you some swim trunks." said Sam.
"Thanks, sis." replied Simon.
Right now, everyone, including their Pokemon were enjoying the hot springs, with the rock and fire types just enjoying the steamy temperatures, and Stella resting her head on Lincoln's shoulder. As Lincoln relaxed, he kept looking over at Stella, whose skin was looking shiny because of the steam, and thought she looked angelic like that, making him blush.
"So how long have you and Leona known each other, Dawn?" Clyde asked Dawn.
"We've known each other since preschool." said Dawn.
"How did you two first meet?" asked Luna.
"She helped me when a bully picked on me back at our old preschool." said Dawn.
"I really don't like bullies." said Lincoln.
"Since that day, we've been good friends." said Leona.
"So what have you been up to since then, Leona?" asked Dawn.
"I mainly been helping my parents out here." said Leona. "But what I really want to do is challenge the Sinnoh League."
"Really?" asked Lincoln.
"Lincoln's doing that also." said Dawn.
"How many gym badges do you have?" asked Leona.
"Two, so far." said Lincoln.
"How about we have a tag battle?" asked Leona.
"Tag battle?" Lincoln replied.
"That's when two trainers team up against two other trainers at the same time." said Leona.
"That sounds like fun." said Lincoln with enthusiasm.
"Hey, Dee-Dee; wanna be my partner?" Leona asked her childhood friend.
"First, stop calling me that; and sure, I'll be your partner." said Dawn.
"Who's Lincoln's partner gonna be?" asked Leona.
"I'll be his partner." said Stella as she wraps her arms around Lincoln.
"Thanks, Stella." said Lincoln.
"You're welcome." said Stella before kissing Lincoln on the cheek, making him blush, and Dawn frown.
Moments later, after everyone changed into their regular attire due to Stella thinking that her wearing a swimsuit may be too distracting to Lincoln, he and Stella were standing yards from Dawn and Leona; they each pull out a pokeball.
"Floatzel, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Floatzel's pokeball and releasing him.
"Combusken, you're up!" said Stella, throwing Combusken's pokeball and releasing her.
"Lopunny, spotlight!" said Dawn, throwing Lopunny's pokeball and releasing her.
"Go, Swinub!" said Leona, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Swinub. "Okay, Swinub, use Ice Shard on Floatzel!" Swinub launches shards of ice out of its mouth at Floatzel, hitting him, but not dealing much damage.
"Floatzel, use Aqua Jet on Swinub!" said Lincoln. Floatzel becomes surrounded by water and flies at Swinub; he rams into Swinub, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Lopunny, use Quick Attack on Combusken!" said Dawn. Lopunny charges at Combusken with incredible speed and rams her, knocking her back.
"Combusken, use Double Kick!" said Stella. Combusken delivers two kicks onto Lopunny, dealing super effective damage.
"Floatzel, use Double Hit on Swinub!" said Lincoln. Floatzel leaps at Swinub while his tails glowed white and he hits Swinub with them.
"Swinub, Mud-Slap!" said Leona. Swinub sprays a stream of mud out of its mouth and it hits Floatzel's face, dealing damage, and lowering his accuracy.
"Combusken, use Flame Charge on Lopunny!" said Stella. Combusken charges at Lopunny while fire surrounded her body.
"Lopunny, Defense Curl!" said Dawn. Lopunny curls into a ball and her defense increases; Combusken rams into Lopunny, but not doing much damage due to her increased defense. Combusken begins surging with energy and her speed increases from Flame Charge. "Now use Double Kick on Combusken!" Lopunny delivers two kicks onto Combusken, damaging her.
"Floatzel, use Water Gun on Swinub!" said Lincoln. Floatel fires a stream of water at Swinub.
"Use Endure!" said Leona. Swinub braces itself and Floatzel's Water Gun hits it, doing super effective damage. "Now use Flail on Floatzel!" Swinub leaps at Floatzel and repeatedly hits him with its legs, damaging Floatzel.
"Combusken, Aerial Ace on Lopunny!" said Dawn. Combusken flies at Lopunny while white streaks of light surrounds her, and she rams Lopunny, damaging her.
"Lopunny, use Pound on Combusken!" said Dawn. Lopunny leaps at Combusken and pounds her, dealing damage.
"Floatzel, use Swift!" said Lincoln. Floatzel jumps up and releases multiple stars from his mouth and they hit both Lopunny and Swinub, knocking both Pokemon out.
"Way to go, Lincoln!" said Stella, hugging Lincoln.
"Aww, man." said Leona.
"At least we tried." said Dawn. All four trainers returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs, and then both teams go over to each other and shake hands.
"Good battle." said Lincoln.
"Your Pokemon are strong." said Leona.
"At least this will be good practice for the Battle Stage of my next Pokemon Contest." said Stella.
"Mine, too." said Dawn.
"So you two are doing Pokemon Contests?" Leona asked the two girls.
"We sure are." said Stella.
"We each have two ribbons." said Dawn. "Of course I'll have three after the Veilstone Contest."
"Only if I let you win." said Stella before she and Dawn glare at each other.
The group then go into the resort where they all have dinner with Leona's parents who just returned home after running some errands; they also let Lincoln's group stay at the resort, free of charge for the night.
The next morning, after everyone has had breakfast, the group have their stuff packed up and were ready to head towards Veilstone City.
"It was nice meeting you all." Leona said to Dawn's friends.
"Nice to meet you, too." said Clyde.
"Hope we meet up again soon." said Stella.
The group have had an eventful day, and now they're back on the road to Veilstone City. What else will they experience as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
