11/21/2020 Author's Note: The software for this site is still screwed up. If you write, you may have noticed the visitor/view counter numbers are the same. This is impossible. It's yet another computer issue. I've reported it several times for more than a month. Please join me in reporting it too.
There's also another problem readers and writers probably have noticed and that's that story images have disappeared. The avatar images are also gone. It began a couple of weeks ago. I change my story image with each new chapter, but it won't post new images. I've been able to use a couple of old images. This makes no sense because my Happy story and my Jax and the Romance Writer story have had their story images disappear and I haven't changed them since I wrote them months and a year ago.
If you look at the listings, you will discover the deeper into the listings, the more story images have vanished. The mobile app is even worse. The most current listing images have vanished their too. If you write, the writer's side of things are there including the avatar and the story images, but they are all gone on the reader's side. These problems started when they loaded more ads to the site including full page ads.
Please report these problems to support at fanfiction dot com (getting around the site issues). It's a sitewide problem. Please be part of the solution and report the problems to the support staff. They will be more likely to fix the problems if they get a lot of complaints. Thanks!

Chapter 461 Fine
"
Gemma walked out of the clubhouse. None of the guys spoke to her. She walked to the TM offices, switched on the light and returned to work. TM was locked up but there was always paperwork to catch up on.
"Are you OK?" Jax asked leaning down and whispering softly in Scarlett's ear.
"Fine," she whispered back.
Scarlett knew it was important to look strong in front of the MC. The truth was she wasn't upset over what Gemma said to her. She had to hide how happy she was that Gemma had gotten caught.
She remembered that Jax told the crow-eaters he would kick any of them out if they disrespected Scarlett. Gemma wasn't a crow-eater but she had disrespected her. Jax stood up to Gemma and kicked his mother out. Clay had backed him up.
Finding out about MC protocol even the outlaw MCs wasn't hard thanks to the internet. Gemma might be the president's wife and old lady but she was just an old lady. When Jax ordered her out of the clubhouse, she had to comply. Clay backed him up because Gemma was just an old lady. He couldn't take an old lady's side even his own old lady's over his vice-president's.
It was a good lesson for Gemma. It was probably the first time in decades that Gemma had been put in her place. Scarlett knew that Gemma wouldn't see that she had brought this on herself. She would blame her. Scarlett didn't care.
"You guys OK if Scarlett sticks around for pizza?" Jax said to the group.
They all nodded including Sack. Chibs immediately went over to him and punched him in the arm.
"Prospect, do you have a vote?"
"No, si . . ." he broke off before finishing sir. He confessed to Scarlett his military training was sometimes hard to shake. It would creep back in especially when the guys were busting his balls which was pretty much all the time.
"Why were you agreeing?"
"I screwed up. Sorry," Sack said there was a note of uncertainty in his voice as if he wasn't sure what the answer was he needed to give Chibs.
"Are you asking or telling me?" Chibs demanded.
Everyone including Clay were watching this exchange with amusement.
"Answering you."
Chibs punched Sack in the arm again but there was the slightest of smiles on his face.
"Go wait outside the gate for the pizzas and escort the delivery driver to the clubhouse and relock the gates," Chibs ordered.
Sack hurried from the clubhouse.
Clay ate a couple of slices of pizza and drank a beer before leaving riding his bike while Gemma drove.
Jax and Chibs played a quick game of pool after everyone finished eating. It was a regular Friday night, a little quieter and Scarlett was the only female, but Scarlett didn't detect any attitude coming her way from the guys over what happened to Gemma. She wanted to stay on the good side of the guys because it would make it easier for Jax. Juice sat next to her at the table where they discussed money laundering.
After they got to her condo, Jax insisted she wait inside the garage with the door down while he cleared the inside of her condo. She didn't question the necessity. With Esai appearing near some kind of breaking point, anything was possible.
Scarlett could take care of herself but clearing the house with her injury would be difficult physically. She liked Jax's protective side and his gun looked so damned sexy in his hand, but then he didn't have to do anything to look so damned sexy.
"Clear," Jax called from the second floor.
Scarlett went inside dumping her tote bag on the trunk just inside the door. Jax came downstairs and draped his cut along the back of an armchair. He flipped the safety on his gun and set it down on the coffee table near where he and Scarlett were sitting.
"You want something to drink?" he asked.
"A beer," Scarlett said. She had the occasional social beer at the clubhouse but that was about it.
He brought in a beer and an iced tea and put them on the coffee table.
"You're not drinking?"
"Guard duty," Jax said. "Tell me about what happened with Gemma."
Scarlett told Jax including that according to Gemma she was desperately trying to hold onto Jax with kinky sex because she had seen the contents of the envelope Scarlett had dropped off for Jax.
"I was having a come to Jesus moment with Gemma in the TM office when I found out that she had opened the envelope. She put it in another envelope and tried to imitate your handwriting. She didn't even bother to put in much effort. You called before I could finish our talk."
"Thank you for standing up to her."
"You don't need to thank me. It's what I need to do to put things right with her. Maybe if I had done this sooner, it wouldn't have gotten so bad."
"I don't know how she doesn't understand that by being so obsessed with keeping you to herself, she makes herself look a little crazy."
"How the hell does she expect me to become president of SAMCRO when she tells me how to live my life? She is making me look weak in front of the club."
"You're right."
"Tomorrow, we're going to talk to Alvarez. Put the plan to get Esai in motion. If I have a chance I'll finish talking to Gemma tomorrow. Put her in her place for good. I am not going to let her come between us."
There was a knock at the door. Jax automatically picked up his handgun.
"It's my dad. He's going to stay a few days. I just found out while you were playing pool."
She really wanted to tell Jax about the revelation she had that the one thing she would regret when she thought about Esai killing her was that they had never had sex.
Scarlett had really hoped that she and Jax could have sex that night, but with her father staying over; it wasn't going to happen. She didn't want her first time with Jax to happen while her father was staying with her. They would have to wait until the weekend.
Jax went to the door, checked the peephole and let him in. Decker raised an eyebrow at the gun in Jax's hand.
"It's been a long day," Scarlett said. She told her father about Esai and that the MC was going to protect her until the problem with Esai could be handled. She didn't mention the club meeting or the fight with his mother.
"When you held your gun on Esai, did you look at his face or his hands?" Decker asked his daughter.
"Hands of course," Scarlett replied.
"Tell Jax about your training."
"My father found this fire arms training guy from hell with some hardcore methods."
"In the end, you became a believer," her father interrupted.
"After the trauma wore off. This guy wanted me to actually shoot him to prove to myself I could do it. He put on a bulletproof vest and loaded my gun with blanks and then he started walking towards me. He had previously trained me to look at hands and not the face. I hesitated, looked at his face and he shot me with a blank. Never saw it coming because I was looking at his face."
"Hardcore."
"That wasn't all. He walked towards me and I'm shooting at him and he just keeps walking. It was like a Friday the 13th movie where you can't kill Jason. It gave me nightmares for awhile, but I learned. I know I can pull the trigger and I always watch the hands. I told him that in real life I would shoot him in the head if the bullet to the chest didn't work because that would mean he had a vest on."
"Is it wrong that I've never been more attracted to you than at this moment?" Jax asked Scarlett with a grin.
"It is when her father's in the room," Decker said from his armchair. Jax had returned to the sofa and was sitting next to Scarlett.
"He's just busting your balls."
"You are a badass and it is sexy as hell," Jax said to Scarlett.
Scarlett's face lit up with a smile. She loved that Jax was proud of her abilities.
"Scarlett have you been mistreating Jax?"
"Did you tell him about SpongeBob?" Jax asked her father. He started laughing which answered the question.
"I told him too what you did to Happy with SpongeBob."
"He wanted sponge baths. The nurses put Disney princess band-aids on his face in retaliation."
"Scarlett's always been a leader."
"I'm going to bed. I'm beat," Scarlett said getting to her feet.
"I know that Jax is protecting you. It's probably more efficient from the same bed," her father said.
Scarlett rolled her eyes at her father pretending to be annoyed. She was actually glad that he'd brought the subject up.
"Is that OK with you Scars?" Jax asked.
"Just keep your hands to yourself and it'll be fine," Scarlett said tartly.
"Yes, ma'am."
"What no goodnight kiss between you two?" her father asked as Scarlett stood up.
"I don't want to get him all stirred up," Scarlett said.
Jax winked at her. Her father shook his head and laughed.
