Chapter 469 Knocking on Heaven's Door

"

Tig was on high alert when Jax and Clay were talking to Alvarez. She wasn't about to let Jax get all shot up again. For a moment her mind flashed back to that hellish night when Jax had taken a couple of bullets to the ass. Seeing the love of her life almost die had been traumatic. It still gave her nightmares. She couldn't get the sight of that perfectly sculpted face twisted in pain or forget the sounds of his groans as Chibs almost killed him trying to fish the bullets out of his body. Juice had been so lucky because he'd gotten to have his fingers up Jax's fine ass stopping up the bullet holes. Why couldn't it have been her?

Never mind. That was in the past. Never again was Jax going to get shot up with her around. She was supposed to be protecting Clay, but she would gladly shove Clay into the path of a speeding bullet if it meant saving Jax. She had her priorities straight love before MC. Besides, if Clay died, Jax would be president of the MC. He would make a better leader anyway.

She wanted to be Jax's full time body guard. There would definitely be no hardship watching over that well muscled body. She thought about toweling him off after a work-out or even better after a shower. She would sure enjoy toweling Jax off anytime and in any place.

She was watching for her chance, but it didn't come. Sometimes that happened and you had to make your own chance. She screamed gun and tackled Jax. It was a great excuse to knock him to the ground and press her body against his. After all, she was protecting him. The best way to do that was by covering him with her body.

Did it feel as good as she imagined? No, it felt even better. His body was so hard and strong if she hadn't already been on top of him, she would have fainted or turned into a puddle of desire. Damn, that man was scorching.

She'd fantasized about this moment for so long. Jax would turn his head, look into her crystal blue eyes and then pull her head down and give her the most intense, sexiest kiss of her life with lots of tongue. Oh, baby, it would be sizzling. She would then transform into the princess that she was underneath this Tig façade. Instead, all hell broke loose.

When he shouted gun, women screamed, grabbed their small children and ran from the park. Others dropped to the grass expecting gunfire. Drug dealers rolled their eyes and returned to business. This wasn't the first time there had been a gun in the park. It was close to an everyday occurrence.

The guys fanned out searching for the person with the gun, but turned up no one. Of course, there hadn't been anyone with a gun. That had just been Tig's excuse to tackle Jax and press her body against his.

"Tig, what the hell?" Jax demanded.

Tig looked into Jax's eyes. They crinkled at the corners when he was smiling. He wasn't smiling now. Tig's feelings were hurt. She expected Jax to be a little grateful that she was trying to save his life.

"I thought I saw a gun," Tig answered, her body still on top of Jax's.

"You can get off me now," Jax said impatiently.

Tig reluctantly got off Jax and held her hand out to help Jax up. Jax ignored her outstretched hand and got to his feet. Tig tried not to show how upset she was that Jax wouldn't let her help him up. Why wouldn't Jax let her help him up? He probably thought it would make him look weak in front of the guys.

Jax slapped at his clothes getting the dirt off his jeans. Tig would have been more than happy to brush Jax off with her hands or tongue.

She hoped Jax hadn't noticed that she'd gotten an erection when she'd been on top of him. It wasn't her fault. Tig's body did things like that. She was in an agony of embarrassment. Damn this male body of hers!

Maybe, just maybe, Jax had been a little turned on when she was on top of him.

Author's Note: This is the last chapter for this year. I've written a lot this year. I started and completed my twisted revenge on Jax story Quarantine & Love Jax and the Romance Writer (it's an M rated story) and I started a new story Taming Ava (also an M rated story) which has now got a larger following than this story.

Good news or Bad news depending on your point of view, this story still has a lot of plot to get through before it is complete. I know exactly when it will end though so I am always writing to that point.
