Okay let me start by first off thanking skhwriter for allowing me to use the idea of Queen and Stewart being demigods, and apileofashandember for the use of the idea of Bernard being a demigod. If you have not read their stories Living on a Prayer and of leaps of faith, I highly recommend that you read them. Great stories on archive of our own. I am cross posting this on fanfiction and Archive, so look for updates on both.
Second thing, I own none of the characters. If I did, everyone would get a happy ending. That being said, Wally West is alive in this story. I'm not sorry. I love him and Artemis together. Sue me, I'm a romantic. That also means that Jason Grace survives and is dating Piper. Again, sue me!
Third thing, I have no real plot idea and line I'm following. I kinda just want all of our favorite heroes to meet, cause some chaos, get therapy, and live happily ever after with their significant other. That being said, I may get very involved, and a plot and story line might appear with an actual villain and point. I will let you know. Right now, I have the first several chapters wrote out.
Fourth and final things for now, I have not read Trails of Apollo, Magnus Chase, or a lot of DC comics or watched a lot of the shows. I'm running this story off of vibes (lol I read this this in another Percy Jackson and Batman crossover and I'm stealing it! Thanks generationriot and your story A hero in Gotham.) and what I know. If you have thought or idea, let me know. If I get something wrong let me know. I will research what I can and update or change as needed.
"Hey Kaldur, I got a favor to ask," Percy said as his Iris message showed the superhero.
Kaldur's eyes flew open as he acknowledged his friend. With a small smile, Kaldur stated, "What can I do for you my Lord Percy?" Kaldur had been meditating alone in his room, thankfully, when the message came through.
sigh* "I thought we had been through this! Percy is just fine, no Lord needed," Percy huffed.
Kaldur's smile grew as his friend began his rant. He knew Percy did not like to be called Lord or Perseus. Kaldur usually threw one variation of it in the greeting to see how his friend would react. "Was there something that you needed, or did you just want to talk?" he asked.
"Oh yea," Percy said, stopping mid rant. "Right, a couple of us have to come to Happy Harbor, and we're hoping that you could keep the team busy. Something related to our world popped up there and we really don't want the Justice League getting involved. So, we kinda need you to run interference with the Team for us for about two hours. Arthur is dealing with the League."
"You need me to deal with the team," Kaldur stated with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes please," Percy stated as he clapped his hands in front of him and gave his best baby seal eyes.
"Very well, but after you're done, I expect a full story," Kaldur said. He would have accepted even without the eyes, but no one could resist Percy's baby seal eyes.
"Deal," he said. "I have a gift for you from Tyson anyways. This way once we are done, you and I can get doughnuts. I kinda owe Blackjack some," Percy mumbled the last part to himself.
"I will see you later then, my friend," Kaldur chuckled. He had met the Pegasus once before and knew how much he loved doughnuts. Kaldur swiped his hand through the Iris message after Percy had said his goodbye.
Standing up, Kaldur left his room to go see how he could distract the team from the demigods that were about to arrive to the city. Over the years, things had become difficult in keeping the world of the gods and mortals separated. Invasions, magic, the advancement of technology meant that secrets were harder to keep. Kaldur knew that Aquaman was having difficulty with the League and keeping them from discovering that Atlantis was only a short distance from Poseidon's castle. He also knew that with Wonder Woman claiming to be the daughter of Zeus, someone was bound to start asking if there were more demigods out there and if the gods were real. Kaldur was getting a migraine, and the day had just begun.
He made his way to the training area where most of his friends and teammates had gathered.
"Do we have a mission?" Impulse asked as he practically vibrated.
The rest of the heroes looked up as they saw Batman enter the cave.
"Hey Nico, you ready?" Percy asked as he finished his Iris message. He left his cabin and started for the Big House. He twirled his pen around his fingers as he made his way through Camp.
"Let's get this over with," the son of Hades huffed out as he made his way over to his cousin as he left his own cabin. "Where's Annabeth?"
"Annabeth is already in Happy Harbor with Mrs. O'Leary," Percy answered simply. Percy wasn't entirely sure why the three of them had to go and retrieve a piece of Achilles' armor. He was pretty sure that there was plenty of other demigods around that would love to be a tool for the gods, note the sarcasm. Why did they have to send the three that had been to Tartarus.
They were supposed to be on a break from dealing with quests as they healed. Percy would never understand the gods, and that was probably a good thing as he would lose himself. The gods could stay up on Mt. Olympus for all he cared. They very rarely helped or did anything useful. Sure, he liked and tolerated a few of them, but most he would rather not deal with.
The two slowly trudged across camp together. Neither really wanted to go but knowing that the sooner they left the sooner they got back.
"Are you two ready?" Chiron asked from where he sat in his wheelchair on the porch. He overlooked the whole valley with a thought.
"Kaldur said that he was going to keep the team busy, and Arthur was going to keep the League busy," Percy said as he looked at his friends and family go about their day at camp.
Seven months, the second giant war had ended seven months ago. They were healing nicely with the help of New Rome. But they were still healing all the same.
Chiron let out a hum as he shifted his gaze to the two young heroes before him. "You will be careful?" he asked.
The heroes were getting closer every day to the truth. The gods were not happy that the Justice League had finally taken notice of what happened in Greece seven months ago. The council was still trying to figure out how they had discovered it since the mist kept such things covered. Hopefully when their director came back, he would have more answers for him.
"We'll be in and out in about 20 minutes," Percy said, hopefully trying to appease Chiron's and his own anxiety.
"Best of luck," Chiron stated simply. He had a feeling that this was the start of something. Something good or bad, he was not sure. But the start of it, nonetheless.
Nico and Percy walked to the shade of the Big House. Nico put his hand on his cousin's shoulder and the two disappeared into the shadows.
"May the gods watch over you," Chiron stated solemnly. He then wheeled himself back inside so he could prepare for his afternoon archery class. On his way to his office, Chiron wheeled past the newly expanded infirmary.
"They're off," Will stated, it was not a question. He was not thrilled with the idea of his boyfriend and friends going on this quest after everything they have done for the gods. Will thought that if anyone deserved a break it would be those three after surviving Tartarus. He shuddered at just the thought of that place.
"They are. They will be okay," Chiron said with confidence, even if he didn't feel very confident.
"All three are some of the strongest demigods. Nico and Percy are the most powerful to have born in the last few centuries," Bernard said simply as he walked out of the infirmary to join the conversation. "Not to mention that Annabeth is an amazing fighter and brilliant strategist. They'll be fine."
"You leaving?" Will asked as he tried to distract himself from thoughts of his boyfriend being gone on a quest.
"Yep, fully stocked for a few weeks in Gotham," he said with a smile on his face as he patted his bag.
"Now that the cult has been dealt with, you don't need to keep going there," Chiron said as he remembered sending the young hero to Gotham to deal with the Children of Dionysus cult.
"It's fine," Bernard said with a shrug. "Most monsters avoid that place, and I don't attract too many anyways."
"You also have your boyfriend there too," Will said with a smile.
Bernard smiled and gave another shrug.
"Please be careful my boy. Things are changing. If you need us, we are an Iris message away," Chiron said as he placed on the teens shoulders before he continued to wheel himself to his office.
"I'll see you later," Bernard told his brother as he made his way out of the Big House and to his car. He was not far from Gotham, but the bugging Argus to give him a ride to Gotham or getting a taxi got old fast. His mom had bought him a car when he turned 16, but staying at camp he had left the car in Gotham. When he turned 17, he had started to drive himself back and forth to Gotham and Camp. He let out a sigh as he made his way home.
"What do you mean that you are not joining the League of Nations?" Superman asked confused.
Aquaman let out a sigh and stated, "My people do not want surface dwellers interfering with there lives. Many see people up here as the enemy. I am trying and views are changing, but it will take time."
"There has to be something that we can do to show that we only wish to help?" Superman asked.
Many of the League sighed. It was the same old argument that Aquaman and Superman were having. No one knew how it started today. But it was the same thing different day.
"There is nothing that you can do, my people just need time. They will get there as I keep working with the League and Aqualad working with the Team," Aquaman sighed. He hated this conversation, but it was always affective in getting attention. He knew several had bets going on the outcome of the conversation and when it would be resolved. So, he brought it up in the hopes that those that had bets going would be invested in the conversation between him and Superman.
"What if we cannot give them time?" Superman demanded.
"Then my people will see it as an act of war from the surface," he sighed. "I understand that you are frustrated with my people, sometimes I am as well, but we are trying. Change does not come fast to Atlantis. If I force the change, then I will have an uprising on my hands."
Superman did not like to admit defeat, but he knew how stubborn some people could be, Batman. So, he let out a sigh and let the conversation drop.
Thank you all for reading.
Loki wants to thank everyone for reading as he, my newest cat, has gotten lots of cuddles as I have worked. He made himself comfortable sleeping on my hands as I type.
