Hello to all, this is Chapter 33 of the fifth and final Arc of Volume 6: Pain and Hatred!
Intro: The Earth... is a great place where humanity and all other creatures live and learn to evolve little by little, but this great world has Darkness in it too. Evil beings who wish to conquer this world and everyone.
Only one being stood against them to show everyone the power of light and hope, but this great mythical dragon wasn't able to stop them. He gave his powers and hope to a human that was known by his name, the Dragon Knight!
Before this hero also met his end, he gave the legendary Dragon Sword and his hopes and dreams to the next knight, his youngest son who is destined to become a legend by the sides of his comrades and his love. This hero... is the Dragon Knight!

Volume 6: Chapter 33: The Climatic Finish! Burning Flames vs Dreaded Power!
Previously in DKR:
Yugi and the others watched as the duel between Jonouchi and Kojan started, after Kaiba gave the darkened blond head a new Duel Disk.
The duel started somewhat bad in Jonouchi's favor as Kojan went into Shi En but Jonouchi quickly turned the tide, using a combo that led to him destroying Shi En with Kojan's own Raigeki card. However, the Uchiha just summons the Six Samurai Fusion Rihan to change the duel to his favor temporarily which Jonouchi counters with Gilti-Gearfried and nearly OTKs him but Kojan still survives.
Annoyed by Jonouchi's enjoyment of their duel, Kojan vows to put an end to it and him.
Will Jonouchi reach and show the value of companionship to the lone Uchiha? Who will win?!
And now the conclusion... last left off:
The duel continues as Jonouchi manages to turn around but for how long.

Everyone watches, most with a look of concern, by Kojan's earlier threat. Kaiba scoffs, a bit over dramatic he thought as does Shadow. Haruto is actually worried too, not seeing anyone submit themselves to such despair. Why?
"Prepare to meet death's door!'' Kojan proclaims firmly while Jonouchi sweat drops with a nervous, grim expression as he responds. ''I rather not see it again and be brought in a world that I almost won a huge tournament only to lose to a newbie whose ace monster was Metal Dragon.''
''…'' Everyone is just left silent except Yugi, Anzu and Honda since Jonouchi told them that dream. He even told Ichigo and she believed him… because it was funny he lost to Metal Dragon. Ironic too since it's 50ATK more than his Flame Swordsman.
Kojan, however, can't help but make a disgusted face hearing such nonsense.
''T-true story.'' Jonouchi clarifies it nervously, always getting that face about the dream.
Duel Screen: Turn 10_ Jonouchi: 1800LP H: 2 / Kojan: 4000LP H: 0
Breathing, Kojan proclaims as he ignores that story. ''If the monster I used to activate Double-Edge Style Strike was a Six Samurai; in my next Draw Phase, I can draw 2 cards!'' He draws his two cards and immediately smirks.
''I activate the spell, Interrupted Kaiju Slumber! I destroy all monsters on the field!'' He declares, activating his field as an earthquake hits across the ground and even the air. It destroys Gilti-Gearfried to Jonouchi's horror as Kojan then adds. ''Next I can Special Summon 2 Kaiju monsters, one on your field and one on mines.''
He pulls out his Deck and picks his two Kaijus.
''I summon Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju to your field!'' Kojan announces as a surge of water erupts on Jonouchi's field and manifests to reveal it is Gameciel, letting out an echoing cry.

''And I summon Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju to my field! Appear, Dogoran!'' He then summons forth as a torrent of flames erupts through the ground and surfacing from it is Dogoran, letting out a fierce roar.

Ichigo worries as she remembers her duel against him when he used those monsters.
However, Jonouchi is much more prepared for this moment, announcing. ''Young Flame Swordsman's effect activates!'' A burst of flames forms on his field as he explains. ''If a Warrior monster I control is destroyed; I can Special Summon the original Flame Swordsman from my Extra Deck to my field by banishing his younger half!''
The flames wrap and reshape as coming out of it is the original Flame Swordsman, posing strongly before kneeling in Defense Position.
Flame Swordsman Lvl 5 ATK: 1800 DEF: 1600
''Then I can draw a card!'' He then adds, drawing the top card from his Deck.
''Heh, like that will save you!'' Kojan proclaims annoyed as he commands. ''Battle! Dogoran, destroy Gameciel!''
Dogoran roars as its chest begins to glow in radiant energy. It opens its fangs, swirls of superheated flames, burning hotter and deadlier.
''Annihilate! Mad Atomic Flame!" Kojan declares as Dogoran opens its fangs towards Gameciel and fires its torrent of flames before they shift and become a destructive laser mouth blast. The blast hits and consumes Gameciel, exploding on impact.
Kojan watches as the smoke of the explosion blows outward and once it clears; his eyes widen as Gameciel still remains but it's now in Defense Position.
''I was a step ahead of you." Jonouchi proclaims with a smirk, showing his active trap. "I activated my set Trap, Guardraw! With it, I switched Gameciel to Defense Position and then I draw 1 card!" He draws his card as the trap fades away.
Kojan gazes back at him, hissing annoyed before muttering angrily. ''Damn you…'' He grabs his remaining card and shouts, setting it. ''I set 1 card facedown. Turn end.''
Duel Screen: Turn 11_ Jonouchi: 1800LP H: 4 / Kojan: 4000LP H: 0
Kojan eyes his set card, hoping the idiot is foolish enough to trigger it. The set card is Dimension Wall, so any damage he might take, he'll take instead.
''My turn!'' Jonouchi declares, drawing his top card. He eyes his hand and smirks, proclaiming. ''This is going to hurt you more than me.''
The Uchiha looks at him confused until Jonouchi plays a spell. ''I activate the spell, Giant Trunade! All Spell and Traps return back to the players' hand!''
A massive storm gathers around them and sucks up all the Spell and Traps on the field, back to the player's hands, mainly Kojan's. This leaves him paralyzed with fury as the temples around them fades away, returning back to the rooftop setting.
''Nice!'' Honda shouts with a manly expression again.
Jonouchi snickers, now having the means to do real damage as he plays another spell. ''I'm gotta use your own monster you gave me against you! Next I activate the spell, Shield & Sword! I switch the ATK and DEF of all monsters on the field until the End Phase!''
Kojan widens his eyes as Dogoran's ATK drops to a mere 1200 while Gameciel goes up to 3000 ATK and Flame Swordsman drops to 1600 ATK.
''Now I switch both monsters into Attack Position and enter my Battle Phase!'' Jonouchi declares as his monsters go into the attack as he commands with a swinging fist. ''Go, Gameciel! Jonouchi Body Slam!''
Gameciel leaps heavily, shooting up above the weakened Dogoran and descends rapidly, crashing on top of the fiery Kaiju with its massive stomach body. It flattens and shatters the monster with ease. Kojan grunts in pain, taking 1800 of damage.
''First blood!'' Honda shouts excitedly with Anzu smiling. Even Kaiba scoffs with a small smirk, praising this one moment it took him this long to do any damage. ''Hmph, took him long enough.''
Yugi and Ichigo smile, glad that he's finally making progress.
Jonouchi pumps himself for how perfect he pulled that off. He now orders his fateful warrior. ''Next Flame Swordsman, direct attack!''
Flame Swordsman dashes right towards Kojan, gripping his fiery blade with both hands.
''Spirit Flame Blade!'' He shouts as his swordsman slashes Kojan directly. He gasps, taking 1600 of damage. He drops on his knee with a horrific expression, not believing he took so much damage in just 1 turn.
''I set a card face-down! Turn end!'' Jonouchi shouts as a face-down card before ending his turn. Now the ATK and DEF of both monsters return back to normal.
Duel Screen: Turn 12_ Jonouchi: 1800LP H: 2 / Kojan: 600LP H: 2
Kojan stands up though his face looks down angrily. He can't believe he took all this damage and used his own Kaiju against him on top of that.
''D-damn you…'' Uttering out as he looks up at Jonouchi, Kojan isn't going to show him any mercy as he shouts, drawing his top card. ''MY TURN!''
He eyes it and declares, banishing his previous Spell. ''I banish Interrupted Kaiju Slumber to add a Kaiju monster from my Deck to my hand.''
He adds a Kaiju, not planning to use this one but he'll make him pay for it before. He then plays the card he drew. ''Next I play the spell, Heaven's Lost Property. We both draw 3 cards and then discard 2.''
''Heh, well go ahead!'' Jonouchi responds with a small chuckle, drawing his 3 cards as does Kojan. Then they discard their 2 cards though the Uchiha hesitates, not wishing to discard Dimension Wall but if he wants to summon that card, then he has no choice. So he discards it along with the Temple of the Six.
Jonouchi then adds, having fun in this duel. ''I've come this far to match you blow-to-blow and I intend to go all the way through! So go all out too!''
''… You think this is a friendly clash?'' Scowling of annoyance, Kojan questions him firmly. Jonouchi makes an awkward face before nodding. Actually becoming madder, Kojan stares at him with his Sharingan eyes active and they're filled with such hate. ''A worthless nobody like you has no right to be laughing!''
Jonouchi just looks at him unease. Even Yugi watches worryingly as does Haruto. Kojan's aura is so disturbing and filled with such rage that it's building up.
''With this card, I will show you despair.'' Kojan vows, holding the Kaiju monster he added as he proceeds playing it. ''I banish Dogoran from my Graveyard.''
The spirit of Dogoran manifests before it is suddenly sealed inside a large space-like black crystal. It floats around, possessing a purple eerie aura.
''Emerge from the depths of space, mad conquer of destruction!'' Kojan chants as the crystal cracks and instantly breaks apart. ''Emerge! Dogoran Cosmo, the Mad Crystal Kaiju!''
Emerging from the crystal is Dogoran, but now its body is black scales with cosmic-like flames across its chest and fangs with multiple sharp dark purple crystals across its back, its tail and two larger crystals on both back shoulders. Its eyes glow in a violet cosmic glow with sharp horns resembling a crown.

Jonouchi sweat drops with a worried face, never seeing such a beastly monster like this that will destroy a planet. Kaijus, who knew?
Even Yugi and Kaiba are concerned as so far they have seen a Kaiju with such a summoning effect.
''Next I equip Dogoran Cosmo with the Equip Spell, Kyoutou Satellite!'' Kojan proceeds as a miniature, UFO-like satellite manifested above Dogoran Cosmo with 6 shaped star pattern antennas. ''With it, Dogoran Cosmo gains 300 ATK!''
Dogoran Cosmo roars, going up to 3800 ATK.
''Battle! Dogoran Cosmo, destroy Gameciel!'' Kojan orders as Dogoran begins charging up radiant, deep dark purple flames in its mouth. The crystals on its shoulders also glow, charging up its attack.
''Cosmic Atomic Breath!'' Kojan commands as Dogoran is about to fire its mouth blast but Jonouchi quickly triggers his set card. ''Reverse Continuous Trap open, Fairy Box!'' Gameciel is then placed inside a Whack-a-Mole game box. This pisses off Kojan, complaining. ''Another damn coin toss?!''
Kaiba scoffs, actually agreeing with him.
''If I call it right, your monster has its ATK reduced to 0! I call Heads!'' Jonouchi complains as a large golden coin flips upward by his command and descends. Everyone watches as the coin hits the ground, flipping before it lands on Heads. Kojan startles as Dogoran Cosmo drops to 0.
''It's over!'' Honda declares with a smirk. Kojan scoffs as he declares, banishing a monster from his Graveyard. ''I banish Bacon Saver from my Graveyard to negate my own attack!"
Dogoran Cosmo immediately stops charging its attack. Honda sweat drops, jumping the gun a bit too quickly.
''And when the equipped monster battles; a Kaiju Counter will be placed on Kyoutou Satellite.'' Kojan then explains as one of the antennas glows.

''Turn end.'' Kojan declares, ending his turn confidently.
Duel Screen: Turn 13_ Jonouchi: 1800LP H: 3 / Kojan: 600LP H: 2
''My turn!'' Jonouchi shouts, drawing his top card. He eyes it, getting what he needs. He chooses to not pay the Life Point cost as Fairy Box is destroyed and proceeds to play the card he drew. ''I equip Flame Swordsman with the Equip Spell, Burning Soul Sword! With it, I can release a monster I control to give their ATK to my equipped monster! I release Gameciel!''
A powerful fiery blade manifests as Flame Swordsman wields it and points it to the Kaiju. It roars, vanishing as its ATK is added to his, going up to 4000 ATK.
''Battle! Flame Swordsman, attack Dogoran Cosmo!" Jonouchi commands as Flame Swordsman leaps at Dogoran who fires space-like crystal shards. The swordsman swings his mighty sword, unleashing a powerful flame wave that burns away the shards.
"Spirit Flame Blade!'' Jonouchi shouts as Flame Swordsman swings and slashes down the Dogoran as it is consumed in flames… however another antenna glows, gaining another counter.
Number of Kaiju Counters on Kyoutou Satellite: 2
''JONOUCHI WON!'' Honda shouts once more, jumping the gun as busting out of the flames is Dogoran Cosmo, still standing while its body glows in a light reflection. He soon freaks out, screaming. ''NANI?!''
Brushing off the damage, Kojan explains calmly. ''By removing a Kaiju Counter, Dogoran Cosmo cannot be destroyed and while there is a Kaiju Counter on the field and due to Kyoutou Satellite, I take no damage too. Crystal Defense!''
One of the antennas is removed as Dogoran Cosmo remains and Kojan takes no damage.

''An absolute defense.'' Ichigo mutters, reminded of the Susanoo. Kaiba just hisses annoyed, correcting her. ''No, it's an absolute offense and defense. This bastard is more annoying than I thought he was.''
The cat girl stares at him, agreeing but she knows Jonouchi will still be able to turn things around.
''I set 2 cards face-down!'' Jonouchi shouts, setting 2 cards behind his swordsman and sadly calls it a turn. ''Turn end.'' Flame Swordsman's ATK drops back to 1800.
Duel Screen: Turn 14_ Jonouchi: 1800LP H: 1 / Kojan: 600LP H: 2
''My turn.'' Kojan proclaims, drawing his top card. He then triggers his new Kaiju's other effect. ''During my Standby Phase, Dogoran Cosmo's effect inflicts 1000 of damage to my opponent while a Kaiju Counter is on the field!''
Dogoran Cosmo's crystal shoulders glow and release a violent purple lightning. ''Mad Crystal Shock!''
The lightning strikes Jonouchi, causing him to scream in pain. ''WAA!'' He soon drops to his knees, panting as he takes 1000 of damage.
''Now he's on a timer?!'' Honda utters in dismay, not believing this thing can also inflict damage too on top of having protection.
''With this, he won't.'' Kojan mutters as he then commands, entering his Battle Phase. ''Perish, pest! Dogoran Cosmo, destroy Flame Swordsman!''
Dogoran Cosmo begins charging again from its crystal shoulders and mouth, focusing its electrical destructive power as a new counter is added.

Everyone watches in dismay as Jonouchi gazes firmly, breathing heavily.
''Come on Jonouchi! This duel isn't over yet.'' Anzu encourages him. ''What would Mai think of this!''
Jonouchi smiles a bit, already picturing her lecturing him and pretty weak compare to her. No, he doesn't plan to lose.
''Burn away! Crystal Atomic Breath!'' Kojan shouts as his Kaiju fires its mouth blast, super-heated with electricity, and fires upon Jonouchi's remaining monster.
Jonouchi watches and quickly activates 1 of his set cards. ''Reverse card open, Unbreakable Will!'' A whirlwind surrounds Flame Swordsman, protecting him from the Kaiju's devastating attack that splits in the middle and the attack pierces into the ground.
''With it, Flame Swordsman won't be destroyed and I take no damage!'' Jonouchi explains, defending himself as he then adds. ''Plus by discarding a card from my hand, I can draw 2 cards!''
He discards his last card to draw 2 more cards.
Panting of annoyance, Kojan just mutters irritatedly. ''Turn end…''
Duel Screen: Turn 15_ Jonouchi: 800LP H: 2 / Kojan: 600LP H: 3
''This isn't over yet!'' Jonouchi proclaims with a smug smirk but this causes Kojan to tell him off annoyed. ''Against Dogoran Cosmo, you have no monster that can oppose it! Surrender!''
This causes him to get mad, barking at the Uchiha. ''Like hell I will! I will not give up!'' Jonouchi places his hand over his deck and shouts, drawing. ''My turn, draw!''
He looks at his drawn card and smirks, playing it. ''I activate the spell, Roll of Fate!'' A large die forms and rolls immediately.
''Come on 6! I need it!'' He pleads, needing a big number of cards. The die rolls and soon lands on a 4. He blinks awkwardly, muttering. ''… Okay, 4 work too.''
He draws his 4 cards and then mills the top 4 cards of his Deck. He eyes his cards and has what he needs to turn the tide.
''I summon the Black Stone of Legend!'' Jonouchi shouts, summoning a black, red glowing dragon egg.
The Black Stone of Legend Lvl 1 ATK: 0 DEF: 0
''I use my Black Stone of Legend's effect, releasing itself to summon a Level 7 or lower Red-Eyes monster!'' He announces as his egg glows and expands, hatching in flames. ''I need you buddy, Red-Eyes Black Dragon!''
Emerging forward is the black dragon with red eyes, roaring fiercely.
Red-Eyes Black Dragon Lvl 7 ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000
Honda smirks that he summoned his ace but Kojan glares unimpressed, mocking the dragon. ''That monster is too weak to challenge Dogoran Cosmo and its perfect combo! Give up!''
This pisses Jonouchi off, telling him off. ''I refuse to give up and with this card, I'll change the tides!''
Yugi nods, not surprised that even with Kojan's superior eyes; they're blinded to a card's true potential.
''From my hand, I summon forth Hermos, Legendary Dragon of Burning Passion!'' Jonouchi calls forth as the evolved Hermos, the Legendary Dragon, emerges above him and roars.

''Hermos, fuse with Flame Swordsman!'' He then commands as Hermos and Flame Swordsman fly upward, combining together.
''Fusion Summon! Come out, Flame Spirit Armor!'' Jonouchi shouts out as appearing from the merger is a large set of armor resembling Flame Swordsman.
Flame Spirit Armor Lvl 5 ATK: 1800 DEF: 1600
Ichigo gasps, amazed that he created a new equipment monster card.
''This armor equips itself onto Red-Eyes, giving my dragon 600 ATK!'' Jonouchi announces as the armor flies towards the black dragon, separating itself and attaching its armor pieces onto Red-Eyes. Soon the black dragon roars, wearing the Flame Swordsman armor like a dragon samurai Its ATK shoots up to 3000.
''Plus I equip Red-Eyes with the Equip Spell, Dragon Nails!'' Jonouchi then announces while Red-Eyes is now equipped with a pair of metal dragon claws as the black dragon roars. ''Red-Eyes gains another 600ATK!'' It's ATK goes up again to 3600. Kojan scoffs, unimpressed as his Kaiju is far-
''Battle! Red-Eyes, attack Dogoran Cosmo!'' Jonouchi then announces as Red-Eyes roars, flying right at the Kaiju. This shocks Kojan who taunts him. ''Futile! It's still too weak!''
''Wrong! Flame Spirit Armor's effect let's Red-Eyes stop you from activating or using card effects during the Battle Phase!'' Jonouchi then reveals to Kojan's surprise. ''Plus the armor halves your monster's ATK!''
This even further shocks him as Red-Eyes swings its claws, engulfed in flames, and slashes the chest of the Kaiju as it is immediately consumed in a tornado of flames. Dogoran Cosmo roars in agony, its ATK halved to 1900.
''Hit him, Red-Eyes!'' Jonouchi shouts as Red-Eyes charges up a sphere of destructive red-black flames and fires it. The destructive sphere is immediately covered in light fiery flames as it hits the entrapped Kaiju and explodes on impact. ''Dark Mega Spirit Flame!''
Kojan braces himself, unable to do anything as he shouts. ''Kyoutou Satellite's passive effect still protects my Life Points.''
His Life Points are untouched by Dogoran Cosmo is incinerated, completely destroyed. Honda flexes his arm again for this big play while Ryan also sighs, finding those Legendary Dragons just as powerful as the Egyptian God Cards.
Breathing, Jonouchi reaches for a card in his hand and shouts, setting it behind his dragon. ''I set 1 card face-down. Turn end.''
Duel Screen: Turn 16_ Jonouchi: 800LP H: 2 / Kojan: 600LP H: 3
Kojan just stares silent yet irritated. He can't believe he lost his evolved Dogoran. He underestimated him, again. Throughout this entire duel; this idiot's luck has saved him more than once but that will change, here and now.
''I think this duel lasted long enough.'' He proclaims softly, drawing his top card and eyes it. Smirking as he finally got what he needed, Kojan then announces confidently. ''With this, I win.''
This confuses almost everyone with that statement, except Honda and Jonouchi who the latter taunts him confidently. ''Yea? Prove it!''
''… I summon Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki!'' Calming as he plays the card he drew, Kojan summons the four robotic armed Six Samurai.
Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki Lvl 3 ATK: 200 DEF: 2000
''Kageki's effect lets me Special Summon a Six Samurai monster from my hand.'' Kojan reveals as he grabs his card and summons it. ''Appear, the Tuner monster Kagemusha of the Six Samurai!''
Emerging out of blue flames is the renewal Kagemusha, now a Six Samurai wearing samurai armor.
Kagemusha of the Six Samurai Lvl 2 ATK: 400 DEF: 1800
Kojan still isn't done summoning another monster. ''Next since I control a Six Samurai, I Special Summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai!'' Appearing forth is the white haired, breaded old Six Samurai as he wears a unique glowing eyepatch.
Grandmaster of the Six Samurai Lvl 5 ATK: 2100 DEF: 800
Jonouchi doesn't follow the summon of these monsters, questioning him. ''What are you going to do with those?''
''… Let me show you the strongest, undefeated Six Samurai monster.'' Kojan simply replies firmly as he shouts, raising his right hand to the sky. ''I tune the Level 3 Kageki, the Level 5 Grandmaster and the Level 2 Tuner Kagemusha!''
Everyone is shocked as Kagemusha becomes 2 green rings, flying upward and surrounds the other Six Samurai. They glow and become 8 stars, flying in a row.
''Bloody blade forge to destroy everything in its path! Let his presence mark the true leadership of the samurais! Unleash your godly lightning that will rule over the land!'' Kojan begins to chant as the rings glow and fire a beam of green light that consumes the stars. ''Synchro Summon!''
The light slowly turns red and explodes, spreading across the field. Jonouchi braces himself as red lightning strikes down from the dark sky.
''Descend once more to the mortal world, the true samurai of death!'' Kojan calls forth, summoning his ultimate monster. ''Appear, True Six Samurai – Emperor Shi En!''
Suddenly appearing from the dark lightning is a figure that flies upward and twirls around to reveal it is Shi En but different. He is now wearing a slightly bulkier, deep crimson, blood colored red armor with black lining design replacing the golden. He now has quadrupled bladed wings, extra sharp horns on the shoulders, bladed forearms, the purple bodysuit is deep dark purple and his helmet is more machine, covering all of his human face. He also wields a larger great sword-like blade, leaking out black flames from the back blade.
True Six Samurai – Emperor Shi En Lvl 10 ATK: 3000 DEF: 2400
Everyone watches with an expression of shock to see such a Level 10 Synchro Monster.
''This monster will send you to hell, Jonouchi.'' Kojan declares with a dark gaze, vowing to end this ridiculous game and finish things with Yugi.
Commercial Break:
Everyone still stares as Kojan summons an even more powerful Shi En, no doubt with effects that make it be on a different level.
''This is just…'' Honda utters in dismay, not even able to finish his words just for how frightening this monster is.
''So this is Kojan-kun's ultimate monster.'' Yugi theories with Kaiba stating, annoyed. ''That fool better have a plan or so help me.''
Ichigo sees the look of calm from Jonouchi and she says humming. ''Seems he does have a plan Nya.''
Smirking, Jonouchi shouts, activating his set card. ''Reverse trap open, Graverobber! With it, I'm borrowing one of your cards again!''
''Like hell! Emperor Shi En's effect can negate any card now!'' Kojan, however, interrupts as he activates his new Shi En's effect. He points his left hand towards the card and snaps his fingers. A bolt of red bloody lightning strikes down on the trap. ''Death Judgment!''
Jonouchi braces himself as he then has to activate his other set card, his real trump card. ''Then I chain and activate my other trap, Red-Eyes Fang with Chain!'' The large Red-Eyes shaped kunai chain manifests as Red-Eyes grabs on it. ''I equip it to Red-Eyes and then I sent to the Graveyard to equip your monster to my dragon!''
The black dragon twirls around the chain and thrusts it forward, wrapping it around Shi En.
''… Naïve.'' Kojan simply mutters as Shi En's body glows and the chain immediately cracks and explodes into pieces to Jonouchi's shock. ''Emperor Shi En is unaffected by your card effects.''
''NYA?!'' Ichigo utters in dismay, panicking.
''Unaffected is bad, right?'' Haruto asks, puzzled with Ryan nodding.
Jonouchi worries as his trap doesn't do a thing as Graverobber shatters into pieces.
Kojan then commands firmly. ''Battle! Emperor Shi En, attack Red-Eyes!''
''What?! But your monster-'' Jonouchi begins to protest in surprise but Kojan interrupts, explaining the other effects of his ultimate Shi En. ''Emperor Shi En gains 600 for each Six Samurai monster I control with a different name.''
Emperor Shi En shoots up to 3600 ATK.
''He plans to crash then?'' Erika questions that he'll risk his monster's own destruction.
Emperor Shi En soon flies off right at Red-Eyes, dashing around with such speed and afterimage-like movement.
''God Emperor Blade!'' Kojan shouts as Emperor Shi En swings his blade forward just as Red-Eyes counters with its claws. The two clash as a burst of crimson red and black-red flames push each other as Red-Eyes pushes back just barely.
''Counter, Red-Eyes!'' Jonouchi counters back with a shout. ''Dark Mega Spirit Flame!''
Red-Eyes unleashes its powerful mouth blast as Shi En swings again. The two attacks clash and explode in a destructive blast. Jonouchi braces himself, panting as he proclaims. ''At the least he lost his-''
The smoke clears up only to reveal Emperor Shi En remains unscratched.
''HUH?!'' Jonouchi utters out in dismay. Kojan smirks as he explains. ''I banished Rihan to use its effect, protecting a Six Samurai from any destruction.''
The darkened blond headed growls, not liking this.
''Plus when Emperor Shi En destroys a monster, you take 600 of damage.'' Kojan then reveals as he points his finger at him. Emperor Shi En points his left finger and fires a powerful lightning beam. ''Emperor Lightning!''
The electrical beam stabs through Jonouchi, yelping in pain. ''GAAW!'' He grunts, dropping on a knee. Even though the damage isn't real, he sure feels it as his Life Points drop to 200.
''Hold on buddy!'' Honda cheers for his friend as he's still holding on. ''You still got one more-''
''He has none! Shi En is unstoppable. He is the unstoppable death samurai!'' Kojan proclaims with a smirk as Emperor Shi En wields its blade in a samurai sword pose. ''Emperor Shi En can attack twice!''
Jonouchi sweats, not expecting it to attack again.
''End his life.'' Kojan begins to order his monster as he shouts. ''DIRECT-'' His voice is cut off as out of nowhere Red-Eyes Black Dragon returns to the field in Defense Position.
Red-Eyes Black Dragon Lvl 7 ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000
''Nani?'' Kojan utters in confusion with Jonouchi explaining with a smirk. ''You're not the only one with surprises. If the equipped monster is destroyed by battle along with this card, Dragon Nails not only revives my destroyed monster but reequips itself back to it.''
Red-Eyes roars, shooting up to 3000 ATK as it wears the metal dragon claws.
''Unlike your samurai, Red-Eyes is the dragon with the potential to always stand back up over and over!'' Jonouchi proclaims proudly to Kojan's annoyance. ''Like I care! Destroy that dragon, Shi En!''
Emperor Shi En dashes right towards the black dragon as it blocks with its metal claws.
''I banish Flame Spirit Armor to protect Red-Eyes from destruction!'' Jonouchi announces, banishing his armor as Red-Eyes repels the attack back.
Gritting his teeth, Kojan can't do a thing as he grabs his last card and sets it. ''I set 1 card face-down.''
Honda sighs, thinking for a moment that Jonouchi was a goner. Anzu agrees though she's worried how Kojan is losing his cool streak. He looks so enraged, much more than before.
Yugi smiles, thinking that it's just like Jonouchi to escape just inches from defeat.
Kojan glares at Jonouchi's determination and tells him off. ''Enjoy your last turn because when you end your turn, you're finished!''
Frowning at his words, Jonouchi hasn't felt dueling someone who isn't happy about dueling not since… Honestly, he isn't sure. He's dueled cheaters, showoffs, confident, prideful, sadistic and passionate duelists and Kojan is prideful like Kaiba and yet his hatred is conflicting with whatever join he has.
''Wrong!'' Jonouchi immediately protests loudly. ''You're as wrong about this duel as you are wrong about denying your bonds with Yugi!''
This pisses Kojan off, telling him off furiously. ''Bonds are a damn weakness! One I will serve so I can kill Madara and achieve a better world! That's all that matters!''
Jonouchi grits his teeth, more and more he thinks that this guy can't be the same person who taught Yugi about bonds and yet; now he feels he's denying who he used to be.
''Then you'll be no different than that guy.'' Jonouchi tells him off, causing Kojan to stagger with a stunning expression. ''What the hell did you say?''
The darkened blond headed gazes firmly, seeing it now and way back through all of his many duels and he never once considered that power was everything. To him, it was the fun of dueling, the excitement to push one's limits and making connections with others.
''Just having power doesn't make you stronger. It's having people around you that give you greater strength.'' Jonouchi proclaims determinedly, having so many people watching his back and lending their beliefs and trust onto him. He even sees it to Kojan and his monsters too who need each other to become stronger.
''Just like Yugi having us, even your samurais and Kaijus need each other to become stronger!'' He then says, startling Kojan with widened eyes. Yugi stares, also seeing that through this one duel that Kojan's monster depends on their archetypes to feel whole… just like what Kojan is denying himself in doing.
''For a guy who wishes solitude, your cards say otherwise that they need others to-'' Jonouchi begins lecturing the loner only for the Uchiha to grit his teeth and shouts furiously. ''SILENCE!'' Jonouchi staggers as Kojan further shouts enraged by his words. ''What the hell WOULD you understand of me?!''
Jonouchi looks at him, frowning as he now feels bad for him. He's fighting the excitement of their duel in favor of absolute victory. That's… that's his weakness.
''… We're not alike and I can't get your actions, wanting only victory and ending ambition…'' He openly admits to him and then says firmly. ''But having no one makes you weaker! And it hurts that you feel all alone even when others offer and want to be with you.''
Kojan is silent with a glare but Manectric watches this with a soft whine, feeling the pain of her partner. ''Manec…''
Jenny doesn't say much but she, like Manectric, can feel Kojan's pain too. He's in pain but he refuses to open up.
''That's why I intend to show you what strength is like among others!'' Clenching his fists tightly, Jonouchi proclaims going to show him the strength he has with everyone else compared to his solitary power.
Duel Screen: Turn 17_ Jonouchi: 200LP H: 2 / Kojan: 600LP H: 0
Jonouchi eyes his Deck, knowing he needs 1 card to win him this duel. This draw depends on everything.
Placing his draw hand over his Deck, Jonouchi lets out a deep breath out and then shouts, drawing fiercely. ''MY TURN!''
He swings his arm in a halfway arc as he eyes the card he drew and he got it. Playing it right away, Jonouchi uses his drawn card. ''I activate the spell, Red-Eyes Fusion!'' The card manifests and releases a typhoon of flames, surrounding Red-Eyes as it roars.
The others gasp but Kojan counters with a shout. ''Like hell! Emperor Shi En's effect activates!'' Emperor Shi En raises his hand towards the spell and then snaps its fingers. ''Death Judgment!''
A lightning bolt strikes down and hits Jonouchi's card, shattering it on impact. Snickering rather evilly, Kojan proclaims cocky. ''There goes your last chance.''
''… Not really.'' Kojan looks puzzled as Jonouchi smiles and announces. ''I banish Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon from my Graveyard. Its effect lets me add Red-Eyes Fusion from my Deck or GY back to my hand.''
Kojan widens his eyes as Jonouchi banishes a monster he milled due to Roll of Fate and adds back his Fusion spell before he activates it again. ''I reactivate Red-Eyes Fusion!''
Kaiba scoffs, finding that not bad since Red-Eyes Fusion was negated so its drawback wasn't triggered.
''I fuse Red-Eyes Black Dragon on my field with Red-Eyes Gearfried from my Deck!'' Jonouchi announces as Red-Eyes Gearfried appears from his Deck and he and Red-Eyes fly upward, merging together and creating a Fusion portal.
''Passion and Courage, mix together with the flames of black dragon! Let your mega power explode, even more than before as your fiery red eyes burn hotter! Rise higher than ever before!'' Jonouchi chants as the portal releases massive red lightning across the sudden black sky. And then it exploded into a powerful fire shockwave.
''FUSION SUMMON!'' Jonouchi shouts as a large Dragonic-like figure descends over the sky. ''Descend the Rising Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Mega Rising Dragon!"
Soon appears the ultimate Red-Eyes monster, it possesses the scales of that of Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon except it's dark colors were lighter. Its wings were bigger and sharper as its tail was now like sharp, zig-zag sword. Its mouth gained two large black skin-like bones on both side of its jaw, similar to Black Skull Dragon. Its claws were sharp as they glow red similar to Meteor Black Dragon. The dragon roars as its wings glow bright red as well with its eyes glowing even redder.
Red-Eyes Mega Rising Dragon Lvl 11 ATK: 3000 DEF: 2800
''He summoned his strongest dragon!'' Ryan proclaims, amazed with Erika smiling.
''Mega Rising Dragon gains 400 ATK for each of my Red-Eyes or monsters with Red-Eyes in its card text in my Graveyard.'' Jonouchi announces, raising his Duel Disk forward. Within his Graveyard, he has Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight, The Black Stone of Legend, Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Red-Eyes Gearfried.
''I got four monsters so it gains 1600 ATK!'' Jonouchi announces as the fiery spirits of his monsters empowered his dragon, shooting it up to 4600 ATK. Kojan remains calm to Jonouchi's worry, meaning his set card can do something.
Thinking of his options, Jonouchi announces banishing a card from his Graveyard. ''I banish Blade Graveyard to add a card from my Graveyard to my hand.'' A card also pops out from his Graveyard slot, adding it to his hand.
''This last battle will settle it.'' Yugi proclaims calmly, realizing this duel will end.
Having everything he'll need, Jonouchi makes his final push.
''Red-Eyes, attack-'' Jonouchi begins to declare with a smile until Kojan immediately interrupts, triggering his set card. ''Like hell! Reverse trap open, The Last Samurai!'' His last card flips over, showing the image of Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En standing on a massive, destroyed battlefield with multiple dead samurais and ninja weapons across the ground.
Jonouchi makes a face, sweat dropping as he proclaims to be upset. ''Man, now he's making me hate my favorite movie.''
''My Oto-san's too.'' Ichigo also agrees with him.
''With this, Emperor Shi En gains ATK equal to your battling monster and after battle, my opponent takes no battle damage but you will take damage equal to half of my monster's original ATK.'' Kojan begins to explain his trap's effect and then adds. ''And even if you survive, my trap's last effect Special Summons a Six Samurai monster from my Graveyard.''
Kaiba scoffs, irritated. Whatever Jonouchi does, it is meaningless.
''Like I said, Shi En is unstoppable!'' Kojan begins to announce, looking like the victory. "You can't ever beat him."
''… But is he lucky?'' Jonouchi, however, questions him with a smug smirk. Kojan raises an eyebrow, not following until Jonouchi shouts, activating the card he just added thanks to Blade Graveyard. ''I chain and activate the Quick-Play Spell, Final Dice!''
A card manifests, showing the image of an unknown figure throwing a golden die. ''This card lets both players roll a die. If I get a higher result, I negate your card's effect!'' Jonouchi explains his final gamble's effect. ''But if I don't get the high roll, I take 1000 of damage.''
Kojan makes a face of disgust towards this card he just played, questioning him. ''You intend to determine it all in a final gambit?''
Jonouchi just smirks, rubbing under his nose with a single hand swipe as he proclaims. ''Like I said, I'm the luckiest man around! And I intent to prove it!''
''… Then let's prove that theory wrong.'' Kojan just responds coldly, going to shatter that delusion.
The spell glows as two fairies manifest, a silver robed and a blue robed. The silver fairy is carrying a black die and the blue fairy is carrying a golden die. Both Jonouchi and Kojan stare down at the other and without any warning, they shout thrusting their drawing hand forward. "ROLL!"
Immediately the fairies throw their opposing die and clash, sparks flying out between them before they are thrown backwards, Kojan's die lands first and lands on a 5.
''It's a 5?!'' Honda and even Ichigo utter out in horror. Kojan smirks, muttering out as Jonouchi hits the ground. ''I won.''
The odds for him to get a 6 is not in his favor. He can't lose now.
Jonouchi remains calm as his die rolls and slows down. This roll is the one. It soon stops and flips forward. Everyone watches with awe expressions. Kojan widens his eyes as Jonouchi's die lands on a 6.
Slowly making a smirk, Jonouchi leaps up to the sky and shouts passionately. ''YAHHOOO!''
Yugi sweat drops smiling along with Anzu and Erika with Honda arm flexing. Kaiba scoffs as does Shadow with Ichigo and Haruto smiling. Ryan just grins as that was insane luck. Jenny watches with a sadden face for Kojan, hoping this helps him.
''I negate the Last Samurai's effect!'' Landing on his feet, Jonouchi declares as Kojan's effect is immediately negated. Kojan stares there with a horrific face, not having anything to stop this.
''This is the strength of everyone I have!'' Jonouchi proclaims strongly, clenching his fist forward and shouts. ''Finish this, Red-Eyes!''
Red-Eyes roars as it soars right at Emperor Shi En who fires lightning bolts at the dragon but still dashes forward, consuming its body in flames to repel the lightning.
''GO! Dark Mega Rising Slash!'' Jonouchi shouts as Red-Eyes twirls its body around and slashes Shi En and its katana with its tail sword. The blazing tail blade cuts not just through Emperor Shi En's blade but right through its chest. The mighty Six Samurai staggers for a moment before its body cracks and soon lets out a cry as he shatters into pieces. Kojan stands there, his head lower as his Life Points hit 0.
Duel Screen: Winner... Katsuya Jonouchi: 200LP vs. Kojan Uchiha: 0LP
Everyone watches silently with Yugi smiling as Jonouchi's dragon roars and fades away.
''He did it.'' Ryan utters with a smile. Erika smiles, just relieved he pulled it off.
''Without a doubt.'' Both Anzu and Ichigo proclaim with a small smile.
''Even an amateur with enough strength can beat someone like him.'' Kaiba even praises him but only because he prefers the loser over Kojan. Shadow just scoffs, somewhat impressed even if he doesn't like the game while Masaya is just glad he did it.
Haruto smirks, astonished by this guy. He refused to give up, even when the odds were against him. He's… something else.
Jenny smiles also smiles though she looks at Kojan, frowning by the expression he has on.
Jonouchi pants heavily, placing his hands on his laps. He thought he wasn't going to pull it off but he did. He eyes Kojan, looking dismayed at this.
He walks up to the Uchiha and reaches his hand down, telling him with a smile. ''Good duel!''
Kojan lifts his head up at him as Jonouchi then asks him. ''Did you get what I was trying to tell you?''
''… The only thing I understood…'' Kojan begins to say as he slaps his hand from his sight and proceeds to stand up on his own, glaring coldly at him. ''Is that you are a damn fool.''
Jonouchi just grunts, taking a step back as he stares mad at this jerk. Yugi sighs, figuring as much as he eyes Ichigo and then his sister, smiling at both before he walks towards Kojan and Jonouchi. Ichigo and Jenny both frown, knowing what he's going to do.
''This duel changed nothing! I want to save this world, to end this damn cycle of ambition and selfish deaths! To finally kill Madara…'' Kojan then proclaims, not able to stop imagining the dead Keiko in front of him. He grits his teeth, not going to become weak again, not going to hesitate even if what waits for him is despair. ''If I must really achieve my goal; I will do by severing all ties and sink deeper into the darkness!''
Jonouchi growls, about to argue further with the stubborn man only for Yugi to walk past him.
''Thank you, Jonouchi-kun.'' He thanks his dear friend as he reaches and withdraws his Dragon Sword. ''Now please, leave the rest to me. And I'll carry on your message and show Kojan-kun…'' As he smiles determinedly, raising his left hand to the side and gives out a thumbs up. ''The importance of one's connections!''
Jonouchi stares at his friend's back and nods. "Yugi… win.'' He asks him before he runs up to join the others.
Shadow Knight watches this calmly, knowing now it's time to see if Yugi has what it takes to challenge Kojan's ideals.
Jonouchi won the duel but the real fight is about to begin. Can Yugi reach Kojan in their rematch or will things end like last time?

I'm glad I made Kojan, on top of using Six Samurais, harness the Kaijus like they should both in getting rid of an opponent's strong monsters and also their Kaiju Counter mechanic most if not completely ignored. Plus, giving him a much scarier evolution of the first Kaiju. Konami should do this.
Glad Dragon Nails is a real card and pretty STRONG! Well for Anime duels.
The me of 2011 when I started DKR (yes, over a decade of doing this but that's because of school and my lack to commit as hard as I am trying nowadays) doesn't compare to the me of 2024. I've learned to not put all my eggs in a basket, making the story compelling and be a better writer in my actions. For example, how dumb I decided to call Jonouchi/Joey's ultimate monster as Red-Eyes Black Sword-Blasting Dragon. SIGH… So yes, I changed the name to Red-Eyes Mega Rising Dragon. A more suitable name as it is Jonouchi rising to the ranks of a great duelist. Also upgraded. I don't know why I never did that for Volume 4. Like it wasn't that long and yet HERE I AM doing this. This doesn't change the times he's played the dragon in past Volumes so don't worry!
