here it already is, the sixteenth chapter of my own version of '102 Dalmatians' if it had been animated as we could have had it have been. just a quick reminder to many of my readers that this story has a lot of completely different characters than the real story. this chapter is also listed as the nineteenth, even if chronologically speaking, it's still the sixteenth chapter. there was just a big story description as what was supposed to be the first chapter, and then, there were two character description chapters, one for the animals and the other for the humans, though not all of the humans. this technically sixteenth chapter is also a good, whopping two-thousand-five-hundred-two words long worth of storyline. it does not, however, include this explanatory headnote, right here, nor does it include the (mandatory) disclaimer which makes up the paragraph following this headnote. speaking of which, would you all look at that? it's already time for the obligatory as usual disclaimer to my chapter.

disclamation: I don't own '102 Dalmatians' in any way, shape, or form. I mean, I own it on DVD, but I was only seven when it first appeared in theaters, at all. so, it wouldn't even be natural for me to have owned '102 Dalmatians', at all. I also don't own either of the '101 Dalmatians' movies. I was but two or three years old when the live action remake came out, and when the original animated classic of '101 Dalmatians' came to theaters, I didn't even exist, yet. all these films are owned by the Walt Disney Movie Productions Company and by Dodie Smith.

Back at the probation office building, Kimberly had been introducing her boss, Fan, to Patch and Piper's puppies. Fan had already met the adults, but had yet to get a chance to have met the pups. There were two boys and a girl out of the triplets. One of the boys came with clover-shaped spots. The other boy had a spot over his eye just as his father, Patch, had. The girl amongst all three was perhaps the easiest one of all to tell the difference between her and her two brothers. Fan, of course, already knew all the differences between the puppies.

Fan Merroir: And this is Shamrock.

It was true about the puppy Fan held in her arms. It was definitely the puppy with the clover-shaped spots all over him. Then, Fan turned her attention to the other boy puppy amongst Patch and Piper's trio of triplets.

Fan Merroir (continued): Speckle-Eye is easy, because he sports a spot over his eye that's exactly like his daddy's.

The statement Fan made about Speckle Eye was just as true as her knowledge about Shamrock. Then, she turned her attention to the girl of Patch and Piper's trio of triplets.

Fan Merroir (continued): And I know Oddball, because she doesn't have any_

That was when Kimberly acted fast and shushed her own employer so as not to offend poor Oddball. Fan only looked quizzically at her employee. Kim supposed that she needed to provide Fan with an answer to her sudden shushing.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: I don't wanna be sensitive about her lack of, um_

Then, Kim covered Oddball's ears as she spelled it out instead of saying the actual word.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): S-P-O-T-S.

Kim had even whispered as she spelled out the word instead of saying it so as to have kept extra quiet for her two dogs' unspotted puppy. Of course, Fan, herself, had a question about such a thing for Kim.

Fan Merroir: Oh, is that normal at her age?

As Kim worked her way into setting Oddball down gently, she explained a little more to Fan about the unspotted puppy in her dogs' trio of triplets.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Well, like everything else about her, it is a bit_

Just when Fan thought there had to have been at least something normal about Oddball, the spotless girl puppy started dialing on the telephone.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: odd.

Fan just giggled as she and Kim watched it happen, though. Oddball also even spoke to Patch and Piper in their own shared language as she dialed the phone number.

Oddball: Hey, mom, dad, look what I can do with a telephone.

Of course, Oddball had only initially been wanting to impress her mom and dad with a trick like it. Then, however, a woman on the other end of the telephone actually picked up the line Oddball had called.

Woman over telephone: Hello?

Then, Oddball started talking, or rather trying to talk, to the woman on the other end of the telephone.

Oddball: Hello.

Woman over telephone: Hello?

Oddball, of course, tried to talk to her once again.

Oddball: Hello.

Since Oddball was only a dalmatian puppy and the woman on the other end of the telephone was a human, however, of course, she could not understand a word that came from out of Oddball's mouth.

Woman on telephone: Is that you, Nigel? I know you're there. I can hear you breathing.

Of course, that was when Kim had to hang up on Oddball's telephone call to the mysterious woman on the other end of it. Then, she made a request to Fan.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Oh, dear. Will you take them up to your office for a while? 'cuz I just keep staring at them, and I'm_

Kim paused for a moment before she continued with her request to Fan as Oddball sat down on her desk.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton (continued): _ falling dreadfully behind with my paperwork, as you can see.

Fan looked in Oddball, Speckle Eye and Patch's direction as she obliged to Kim's request to her.

Fan Merroir: Yes, I can see. It's probably just as well with Miss De Vil coming in.

Of course, the fact that Miss De Vil had been coming in that same day that she had decided to introduce Fan to her dogs' puppies was something that Kim had not been aware of, at all.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Cruella?

By then, Fan had finally realized that she had failed to mention the new appointment Kim had with Miss De Vil that same day. Fan also could have sworn that she had sent Kim an email about it, though.

Fan Merroir: Y-Yes. She asked to change her appointment. I thought you knew.

Then Fan, seeing that Kim must not have wanted to even read the email she thought she sent to her employee, called out to Oddball, Speckle Eye and their father, Patch, to come to her office for a while with the other two, Shamrock and Piper.

Fan Merroir (continued): Come on, Oddball, Speckle Eye, Patch. Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick!

Of course, Patch knew better than to dawdle about if Miss De Vil was actually coming back into Kim's office for a reassigned appointment. So, he told his son, Speckle Eye, and his daughter, Oddball, not to waste their time, either.

Patch: Better do as our dog-sitter says, you two, especially since the devil woman's coming here.

Of course, Speckle Eye was a lot more obedient than Patch, himself, was in his puppyhood. Only Oddball had a true problem with the right kind of behavior, especially since her father was Patch, of all the legendary Pongo and Perdita's puppies, but she still did what her father said, anyway, because she looked up to him and her grandparents' legacy as famous legends. She had always been honored to be related to them through her father, ever since she first met Patch as a newborn puppy.

Speckle Eye and Oddball: OK, dad!

Naturally, Patch was proud to have a son like Speckle Eye, even if his son's similarities to him only ever seemed to exist as deep as the surface. Oddball's similarities to a father like Patch, on the other hand, seemed to exist as far down as her core. At least, Shamrock had more mental similarities to Patch than Speckle Eye had always seemed to. It seemed that Speckle Eye mentally took after his mother, as he was actually as sweet and gentle as Piper was. It was never as though a boy puppy being his mother's son and a girl puppy being her father's daughter was a crime against dog-hood, though. Patch was just happy that his pups, even Oddball, were willing to listen to him this time as much as he wanted them both to do.

Patch: That's it, you two. Follow your mother and your brother. Go with them to Fan's office.

Meanwhile as soon as the dogs and Fan were out of her office, Kimberly decided to vent out her frustrations with Miss De Vil out on the portfolio she had received the exact same day of which that 'Ella' had been assigned to her probation case.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Cruella De Vil, that wretched_

Suddenly, Miss De Vil walked into Kim's office, just barely having heard what her own probation officer had called her.

Cruella 'Ella' De Vil/Estella von Hellman: Philanthropist?

That was when Kim suddenly realized that Miss De Vil had just walked into her office and most likely heard what she said about her probation case.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Cruella, I didn't realize_

Of course, Miss De Vil simply interrupted Kim with the name that she insisted she be called.

Cruella 'Ella' De Vil/Estella von Hellman: Oh, please, please! Call me 'Ella'! Now, Kimmy, you can't stop me. It's my civic duty and my obligation to demonstrate against a fur fashion show.

Of course, Kim was not going to let Miss De Vil get away with getting attached to fur all over again. It would have been bad for her, for her dogs, and above all, Kim feared that it would have been bad for the sake of Miss De Vil's cure staying intact.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: And it's my civic duty and my obligation to inform you that if you go anywhere near fur, I'll put you straight back in prison.

Naturally as someone who chose her community service initiative, Miss De Vil was not going to back down any time in the near future.

Cruella 'Ella' De Vil/Estella von Hellman: Won't you even let me heckle that monstrous Peruto?

Miss De Vil may not have been willing to back down, but Kim was not going to back down either.

Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: No.

It got straight to the point Kim needed to make to Miss De Vil, if nothing else. The presently rehabilitated devil woman was not going to back down as easily as all of that, though. It was even evident in her sickly-sweet attitude towards her own probation officer.

Cruella 'Ella' De Vil/Estella von Hellman: Just a teensy, weensy heckle? You know_

At least, she had started out sweet, but then it turned straight nasty.

Cruella 'Ella' De Vil/Estella von Hellman (continued): MURDERER!

Kim even yelped like a wiener dog as she heard Miss De Vil's holler out to her imagination of herself at Peruto's fur fashion show. Then, she started begging for Kim to cave.

Meanwhile in her own office, Fan had busied herself with listening to a bit of jazz music from her record player as a personal request from Patch and the family to pay an homage to the owners of his parents, Rodger Radcliffe and Anita Dearly, though mostly Rodger Radcliffe. Piper and the puppies found the music rather entertaining yet soothing at the same time.

Piper: Oh, Patch dear. This has to be the most romantic music I've ever heard. Your original owner must've been quite a tasteful person.

As the dog couple danced with one another, Patch clarified to his mate, Piper, just who Rodger Radcliffe actually was to him.

Patch: Thank you, Piper, but Rodger first started out as my dad's owner.

Everyone had fun with the jazz music, even the puppies. Although all that time, one of the puppies kept on getting bumped into by the other two and tripping up a storm while dancing.

Oddball: Mom! Dad! Help me!

That was when Patch and Piper wasted no time and rushed to their unspotted girl puppy's aid, as did Fan.

Oddball (continued): I don't get, mom and dad. Why are Speckle Eye and Shamrock so good at their dancing when I stink at it?

Then, getting a closer look at both her parents and her brothers each, Oddball suddenly noticed that all four had spots all over their fur. Just one look at herself in the mirror in Fan's own office was all she needed to clarify what was wrong with her, or rather what she thought was wrong with her. She could see right away from the mirror in Fan's office that she had not a spot on her own fur like the rest of her family seemed to have. Patch then spoke up to his eternal mate, Piper, about the sudden problem with their only daughter, Oddball.

Patch: I was afraid of this as soon as I first saw that mirror in this office.

Piper had some of her own advice to Patch about their only daughter.

Piper: Just give her some time to herself. I think she would just wanna be alone right now. I've needed time to myself enough times in my puppyhood to know when a puppy of my own would need it. She'll be fine.

Patch, of course, was doubtful at first that his mate was right about Oddball, but he, himself, had also known when time alone was necessary to one's emotional health in order to get over something embarrassing. Having four left paws, as it were since having two left feet did not make much sense in the context of a dog's dancing, was definitely the embarrassing kind of thing that a daughter would have needed time alone to get over about herself. Oddball, herself, however, believed otherwise to her own parents' views about her needs. She believed that what she needed was not time to herself, but spots like the rest of her family.

Oddball: You'll see. I'll get myself some spots of my own. I'll find a way.

That was when Oddball looked just outside of Fan's office just long enough to have noticed a photocopier repairman who suddenly had a few black spots on his white uniform put there when he tried to reach for his repair tools. It suddenly gave the little spotless girl puppy an idea as to how she could have gotten some spots onto her own fur. She also saw as said photocopier repairman pulled a sheet of crumpled up paper out of the photocopier covered with black spots as he tried to repair it. She even watched as he set it just above the photocopier he was in the midst of repairing. She jumped after the crumpled sheet of paper as she went to get her own spots. She rolled herself over on the sheet of paper covered in black spots as she got infested by the fake spots. Then, she went to shout it from the rooftops at her brothers, Speckle Eye and Shamrock.

Oddball: Hey, Speckle Eye! Shamrock! Come check it out! I've got spots now, too!

Of course, both Speckle Eye and Shamrock heard their sister as she called out to them from atop the photocopier machine on which she sat. Oddball's only problem with sitting atop a photocopier machine had to have been that she could not have picked a worse place from which to try to get her spots in the entire probation office building. She was suddenly flung outside of the window from just about ninety stories off the ground.

Oddball: Someone, please help me!

The side of the building onto which Oddball was holding as she tried desperately to not fall off the edge even started to fall loose as it was revealed to have been a mere decoration for the building. It was the building's railing to stop anyone and everyone from falling off the edge_ well, almost everyone. Oddball suddenly heard a voice call out to her as she just dangled over the edge of the building.

Speckle Eye: Are you alright, sis?

Oddball suddenly heard her brother, Speckle Eye's, words as he and her other brother, Shamrock, tried coming to her rescue.

Speckle Eye (continued): Don't worry. Shamrock and I are coming!

Speckle Eye and Shamrock started to rush to their sister, Oddball's, rescue. The only problem with their rescue attempt towards their sister was that there had been only so much the two brothers could have done for their rather unfortunate little sister. Of course, Oddball, although not smart enough to know that her clumsiness with their dancing in Fan's office had nothing to do with her lack of spots, was at least smart enough to know that there was only so much her brothers could have done for her.

Oddball: Better still, you two, get someone to help.

Upon having realized that their sister was right about what they could and could not do to help her, Speckle Eye and Shamrock rushed to get help wherever they could have found it.
