Ch. 13: The Dance, Part 2

Red and Black

At the dance everyone has a good time except for Marinette who doesn't have a date. She goes to dance with Ivan and Mylene

But after an awkward dance together, she leaves the dance and sees a disguised Cinder in the terminal and follows. Only to get to her on her way out, Marinette confronts Cinder with Cinder recognizing Marinette and Cinder says

"You, you're the daughter of that baker I've killed." "What, you've killed my father!?" Marinette screams, only for Cinder to say "He had the information on where Amber was and I killed him for it."

"I've been wondering where Amber was this past year, you're a monster. You know that, right. I'll take you in myself, for that!" Marinette said, only for Cinder to say "Let's see you try." And the two fought with Cinder throwing a wave of fire at Marinette

Only for her to yo-yo over it and throw her yo-yo at Cinder who tried to melt it with fire but due to it's sturdiness, it doesn't and is able to push past the power of the flame due to it's gravity dust

And hits her on the head, knocking her down and Marinette used this opportunity to tie up Cinder with her yo-yo with Cinder saying "Why am I not surprised at the sturdiness of that yo-yo, it was made by a maiden."

"What are you talking about, it was made by Amber and she's (has a realization) a maiden? What's a maiden?" Marinette said, only for Cinder to propel herself out of the yo-yo with wind and kicked Marinette in the head

Knocking her out but in her fleeting moment of consciousness, Cinder told her "Maybe you should ask Ozpin that." And Marinette blacked out, only to wake up to a man she knew as James Ironwood who said "Are you okay?"

With her saying "No, I'm not. I just found out my father wasn't killed in a mugging but killed for information for a family friend. I need to talk to Ozpin about this maiden stuff."

"That can happen sooner than you think." Ozpin said as he entered the room, later in the bunker underneath the school. Marinette said "Why are we here, you said you'll explain this maiden stuff and what happened to Amber."

"I will, I just wanted to show you this first." Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Show me what?" Then she saw Amber in a stasis pod and Marinette said "What happened to her?" "A girl used a Beetle Grimm to take away Amber's maiden powers for herself but she only got away with some, thankfully."

Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Maiden powers, like that wind she was using?" "Correct, how observant of you." Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Wait, why are they called maiden powers and not semblance?"

"Because it's not a semblance but magic." Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Magic, right. There's no such thing as magic." "So how do you explain her using wind without dust?" Ozpin said

Only for Marinette to say "Maybe it's her semblance, element. To control an element?" "And robots and aura having Golems are real?" Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Well that's, wait. There's a Golem with an aura?"

"Yes, your partner Adrien in fact. How else do you explain the super strength?" Ozpin asked, only for Marinette to say "Then what's his semblance, (has a realization) it's his rock attack isn't it but how did this happen."

"Yes, his semblance is the rock attack. How observant of you again and how this happened was Adrien was once a human baby but a deathly sick one, so his mother used her semblance. Earth Manipulation, which allows her to manipulate the earth in any way she sees fit. And with that created a human like body from rock that had working organs and with the help of my machine, transferred his aura into the rock body saving her son but now he is a Golem."

Ozpin said, only for Marinette to say "Wow, still don't believe in magic though." "And what about what your father told you?" Ozpin asked, only for Marinette to flashback to her dad's dying moments

Flashback

"Papa, it's going to be okay. We'll get you a medic." Marinette said as she rushed to her father's side, only for him to say "Don't, I don't want to spend my final moments in an ambulance. Besides, there's something I need to tell you. (while brushing his hand through Marinette's hair) My little girl." Said her Papa, only for Marinette to say

"Anything, Papa." "Magic is real." Said her Papa, only for Marinette to say "Your delusional, (to her mother) quick get the paramedics." "No, Marinette. Magic is real and it's (coughs up blood)" Her Papa said, then died

"Papa, Papa!" Marinette said

End Flashback

"Magic is real." Marinette said, now believing it. Only for Ozpin to say "So, is the tale of the Four Seasons." "Of course, that's where they got their powers from. The old man in the story but how did Amber get the power?"

Marinette asked, only for Ozpin to say "She got it because she was the last person the last fall maiden saw before she died." "Wow, so magic is out there. Huh." Marinette said, only for Ozpin to say

"Why are you surprised, you father had silver eyes which have magic." "They did, what is their magic?" Marinette said, only for Ozpin to say "They can let out a devastating attack but it's draining the first couple of times and can only be brought out by when you're at your most emotional the first couple of times but both can be fixed with practice using it. Now I have a little side project for you."

"What is it?" Marinette asked, only for Ozpin to say "You, receiving the fall maiden's power." "Huh but how, I thought you said that it can only be done by being the last person they look at." Marinette said, only for Ozpin to say

"We use the same machine that we used to transfer Adrien's aura into the Golem but with her aura or what's left of it, into you. You might not be the same after because we never transferred aura into another person."

"Can I have some time to think about this?" Marinette asked, only for Ozpin to say "Sure as long as you never tell anybody about this maiden stuff and magic." "But what about Adrien, doesn't he deserve to know about what he is?" Marinette asked, only for Ozpin to say

"I don't know but some advice, sometimes the truth can be worse than the lie."
