It was the day of Mya's honeymoon, and her and Paul were at the airport. The lady at the counter had told them that flights to New Mexico could be delayed a few days. The new reported that someone had ran through the fence at the airport and poured paint onto the runway. It would take a few days up to a week until the were fully operating again. They decided to go to California for a few days instead. Los Angeles was what they both wanted to see during there first weeks of husband and wife. There airplane started to board and Mya and Paul stood in line waiting to take there seats. After the plane was in the air, Mya watched a movie on the small television, it was a suspense movie, a man stuck in another country, trying to get home.
They were in Los Angeles staying at the Red Roof, It was a four story hotel, and after they were in their rooms, Mya had pushed Paul on the bed to see what the new place did for their sex life. It was just as good as she knew it would be, knowing the next time they were in California, it would be marked as needing a memorable update.
The visited Hollywood boulevard and saw the famous actors and actresses names on the pavement after wards they had lunch in the area. While waiting in line at the cafe, someone asked the cashier if they had any famous autographs to show the customers. The cashier replied that the board by the bathroom was where the autographs would be. After eating lunch they went to visit the Hollywood sign, it was lite up, and it looked bigger than what Mya expected.
They were back in there hotel room, when they felt a sudden shake, it was a earth quake. Mya and Paul went into the bathroom to get into the tub, after the shaking was over, Mya went to ask the receptionist if she heard anything. The receptionist confirmed that it was a earth quake and that there could be more in that day, they sometimes came in pairs. Mya went back to the hotel room, and told Paul what the receptionist said. He wasn't surprised, at the booking it was a warning that he caught in small print. They were by the ocean, so they went to the beach the next day. The water was warm and had fuller outlets than what Mya seen in Seattle. There were tiny grains of sand caught between Mya's toes when she came out of the water.
It was a week later and Mya and Paul had returned home from their honeymoon. The pack was glad to have Paul back. Paul's scent had made the blankets warm and welcoming because when they came home the blankets were scentless from not being used.
Mya was at work, and a lady was dropping off her prescription, when a man jumped into the side window of the lady's car. The lady panicked and drove through the parking lot to the other side. Mya and ginger went outside to see what was happening, the man was trying to attack the women. Mya got a closer look and it was a vampire. The man had gotten the women out of the car, a few men who were in the parking lot started yelling and walking towards them. After they got to the car, a growl was heard then a wolf came and snapped at the man, grabbed him, and drew him into the woods. Mya and ginger went over to see what kind of situation the women was in, she was bleeding and bitten. Someone from the parking said that help was on the way. She and ginger sat by the door of the pharmacy watching the ambulance EMT load the stretcher. After the ambulance pulled away ginger said, what a weird encounter that was, and didn't he come out suddenly? Mya said yeah, she didn't know that anyone was in the parking lot. Mya drove home being extra cautious of anything unusual. When she walked in the door, she saw Paul and he had a few scratches. Mya asked what happened to his arm? Paul said that the vampire got away from Jared and then surprised Paul by swinging at him. Mya asked if he wanted her to get a few band aids for his wound, Paul said he didn't need one and it was nothing serious. Mya sat beside him and wondered how elusive vampires could be, they didn't tend to shy from having a witness.
