It was the middle of December, Mya was at home waiting for Paul to get back from his pack meeting. When he came in he sat down and said that the vampires in Seattle were staying off the streets for their attacks. Mya said maybe there weren't as active in the winter, and Paul half agreed. She had been sick earlier in the month, she had guessed that it was the flu or COVID 19. Mya had a cough and slight burning in her chest. When she went to the medical facility in Forks, Dr. Cullen confirmed it was COVID 19. It took her a week to fell better after taking a few different medicines that didn't help. Luckily Paul didn't catch it, having COVID put a better perspective on their imprint bond. Mya could feel the particles in her breath freeze up, and become less gravity weighed with Paul's immune system. It was nice experiencing that with him.
The La Push daycare needed help with a few staff members getting sick, Mya had volunteered to help out. Paul dropped her off and told he would be back in a few hours. She walked in the door and the receptionist told her they didn't separate the children by age and the would be in the recreation room. A lady introduced herself then handed her a baby boy she had seen around La Push with his mother, He was about 8 months old. She sat down and introduced him to some of the toys, he was able to sit up by himself at that age. He cooed then looked for the lady who was with the older children. When he saw her, he waved his hands and cooed some more. After the lady came back and picked up the baby, Mya went to talk to the toddler, who was about one. She talked some what, and told Mya outside. Mya took it to mean the child wanted to go outside, and she told the child it was too cold. When the child became more persistent another of the caregivers came over to comfort her. The day wasn't that long and when Mya left for the day, she decided that the job wasn't for her and informed the receptionist that Lara form La Push also was going to volunteer there.
It was at the end of December that Paul told her to expect a large group of vampires in the town. Edward and Bella who Mya heard of but didn't meet, were expecting some enemies they made on a vacation to show up. Paul said that they should head over to the Cullen's house to get the detail of the story. Mya agreed and followed Paul out of the house to get into the car. When the arrived at the Cullen's a few people were standing outside, Paul said he wanted to go over the detail since he wasn't with the pack when they were told. A girl named Alice came forward and introduced everyone since she knew Mya didn't know them. After Alice was done Edward told them that the 5 vampires they met in Arizona while Bella was visiting her mom, were sure to show up after they found out that the Cullen's were animal drinkers. Edward then explained that Alice had seen a vision and in a week they would be there. Paul thanked them for the information then he and Mya went back home.
They were at Sam's house later that day talking about the upcoming events. Sam said that he heard that the vampires could try to attack someone from the towns surrounding them. They would do their best to keep everyone safe. On the drive home Paul told Mya that things got bad, she could go to her mothers house to stay safe. Mya replied that she wanted to stay with him and she hoped they wouldn't have to make that choice.
