Pain.
Anger.
Fear.
Disgust.
Sadness.
Heartbreak.
Those were the emotions Visenya felt as steered Sunspear to slam into Drogon. Her mind went blank during the impact, almost like she retreated to a blank room in time and space. Nothing fell into her mind. No thoughts, no ideas, no memories.
Emptiness.
That's what she felt.
Both armies looked on in shock, neither attacking the other, as they were too focused on what was occurring in the sky...not believing that another Targaryen Civil War had broken out in a matter of minutes.
Shock.
Disbelief.
Fear.
Confusion.
That's what they were all feeling, as they didn't know whether to get to safety as quickly as possible, or watch the battle in the sky.
Visenya vs. Daenerys.
The Gold Queen vs. Balerion Returned.
It was a battle for the ages, and no one wanted to miss it.
Across the city, still situated on top of one of buildings sat Aegon and Aegonar, both in disbelief at what was occuring. In the back of his mind, Aegon knew that his two Aunts were angry at each other, but he never would think that Visenya would attempt to knock Daenerys out of the sky. That's when he realized...something must've changed.
Visenya had vowed to both him, and herself, that she wouldn't kill Daenerys as she never wanted to. But in order for her to change her mind, Daenerys must've done something to anger Visenya so much for Visenya to want to take Daenerys down.
A million possible scenarios began to run through Aegon's mind, on all of the possibilities, and with each thought, Aegon shook it out of his mind because he knew Visenya wasn't the type of person to enforce violence. She had experienced enough violence and death in her life to become against it.
As he looked around the city, that's when he realized why she slammed into Drogon.
She had wanted to destroy the city.
In the back of Aegon's mind, he knew as to why she wanted to do it. While the Red Keep showed a symbolism of power and wealth within The Seven Kingdoms, pain was accompanied with it. when he thought of it, the entire building destroyed their family, from the time of it's creation. But what he realized, unlike Daenerys, was that it wasn't just the Red Keep, it was also the Iron Throne within it.
The Iron Throne was the seat of House Targaryen...but it was also the destroyer of the house as well. Aegon had lost everything from it. His father, his mother, his sister, his grandmother, his grandfather, and his uncle...and now, he was damn sure that he was going to loose both of his aunts in a fight with each other.
Without thinking, almost as if Aegonar sensed his inner thoughts, took flight, and began to head towards the two dragons, still locked in a fight in the sky. The only problem was...Aegon had never been in this type of fight before. He had no idea how to handle it, and similar to Visenya, a blank space in his mind appeared.
During this time, Sunspear and Drogon were still locked in a battle. Sunspear clawed her way onto Drogon's chest, while Drogon started to naw at Sunspear's wings, trying to bring her down. Visenya's normally blue eyes, were darkened in rage...and similarly, so were Daenerys's. Both were angry for their own reasons.
One for wanting to destroy a city, and it's innocent people and bystanders.
The other, for the city worshipping her sister, and not her.
Daenerys screamed in rage, almost as if to encourage Drogon to continue to fight Sunspear. From Visenya's position atop Sunspear, she could see speckles of red begin to show on both dragons, and it was in that moment where she could decided if it was Sunspear's or Drogon's. Visenya didn't care who's it was...but she was angered that it came to this in order to stop her sister.
"Stop what you're doing!" She shouted over to Daenerys. "It's over, the city surrendered! You're their Queen! What the fuck are you doing trying to burn it to the ground!"
Even while she tried to reason with her sister, Daenerys didn't want to hear it.
Everyone preferred Visenya...and she didn't know why.
"Dracarys!" Daenerys commanded and within a matter of seconds Drogon blasted Sunspear in the face, causing the golden dragon to let out a scream, loose her grip, and begin to free-fall out of the sky. Visenya did her best to withstand the blast, but she screamed in disbelief as she began to fall out of the sky.
"No." Jon murmured as he watched the fight from alongside the rest of the Unsullied.
He looked to Tyrion and Davos for clarification, but both of them shook their heads in disbelief as they watched the golden dragon begin to fall out of the sky. Across the city, now in full control of the remains of the Lannister army (just as the plan originally went), Jaime watched in horror as he saw Sunspear begin to fall out of the sky.
Closer to the Red Keep, Arya and Sandor paused, realizing the fight that was going on, and both looked to the sky in disbelief, not wanting either Targaryen to die...and neither their dragon.
"We should keep moving." Arya began wiping a tear away, not wanting to witness her sister's death.
Inside of the Red Keep, Cersei had a small smirk on her face as she watched the gold dragon and the woman she hated most in this world...the woman who took everything from her, fall out of the sky.
"Finally." She murmured to Qyburn.
"My Queen, this way to the docks." Qyburn gestured and Cersei nodded, willing to get out of the city, away from the fight.
With Sunspear and Visenya finally out of Daenerys's way, that's when she noticed Aegon and Aegonar beginning to close the distance.
"Dracarys!" Daenerys commanded, and Drogon willingly obliged.
Just as Drogon had opened his mouth, to erupt dragon-fire onto Aegon and Aegonar, Aegon, who still was in a blank space in his mind, finally snapped out of his trance, and maneuvered Aegonar away from the fire going near them. Just as they pulled up, Drogon let out another blast of fire at the two of them, and while Aegonar was able to handle the blast, taking the brunt of the force...Aegon on the other hand, screamed slightly, knowing he'd get minor burns from it...hopefully.
Just as she recovered, and she prevented Sunspear from crashing into a building, she was able to see Aegon and Aegonar attempt to attack Drogon.
"Mittys. (Idiot.)" She murmured, but it was only when she saw Drogon erupt dragon-fire onto Aegon was what angered her more.
She was willing to kill one of the last pieces they had of their brother in a matter of seconds.
That was Visenya's final straw...and the final piece that shattered Visenya's heart into a thousand pieces.
Aegon, finally realizing how stupid and impulsive his actions were, had now landed him inside of the middle of a midair battle...in which he didn't know how to get out of, nor deal with. The only thing he did know, was that he needed to get out of this fight...quickly. Thinking the best idea was to run away and land so that Daenerys couldn't get him, Aegon quickly maneuvered Aegonar and began to retreat from the fight.
Daenerys's eyes narrowed as she started to chase after Aegon and Aegonar. But little did she know, and realize that her sister, had recovered. Before she could realize it, Sunspear and Visenya appeared in her peripheral vision, and just as she turned her head, Sunspear's jaw's locked around Drogon's neck.
Drogon let out a scream, as he dug his claws into Sunspear's chest again, ripping it open, making Sunspear let out a scream, as the two dragons began to circle and fall out of the sky, neither letting go of the other.
"They're heading towards the Keep...get the citizens away...prevent as many casualties as we can." Jaime instructed the remaining soldiers to get the citizens to safety, as he watched the two dragons begin to spin out of the sky.
Meanwhile, as Cersei began to head toward the tunnels, she was met by Sandor, fully prepared to take his brother down.
"Your Grace." Sandor nodded to Cersei before turning to his brother. "Hello, big brother."
As the four remaining Kingsguard attempted to take him down, he easily disarmed and murdered them with ease, and in response, Gregor took a step forward, fully prepared to end his brother's life.
"Ser Gregor, stay by my side." Cersei commanded. "I command you."
Gregor frowned and turned to look Cersei in the eyes.
"Obey your queen, Ser Gregor." Qyburn commanded, and in response, Gregor picked up Qyburn by the neck before throwing him down onto the floor, cracking his skull, killing him instantly.
Cersei tentatively looked at the scene in disbelief before she tentatively walked down the stairs, fleeing the scene before her...little did she know though, that Arya had made it into the Red Keep, and was heading for her.
As Cersei continued to head down various passageways, eventually making it down into the dungeons near the dragon skulls, Arya who was hiding within one of the dragon skulls, jumped up in front of Cersei, and stabbed Cersei 6 times in the stomach. As she watched Cersei's eyes widen in disbelief at the action that occurred, a small smile appeared on her face, as the woman fell to the ground a pool of her own blood.
"Finally." Arya murmured with pride, in the fact that she had finally completed her list.
"If you don't mind, could you let us go?" Yara Greyjoy called from her cell before gesturing to Ellaria Sand and the daughters of Oberyn Martell.
All while this was happening, Daenerys, Drogon, Sunspear, and Visenya were still spinning out of control and eventually, just as Visenya was going to tell Sunspear to back off, she had realized that they had fallen too low, and within a matter of seconds, crashed into the throne room of the Red Keep.
Once again, similar to when Sunspear took on Viserion...she was knocked out cold. Just as Daenerys was able to recover, she carefully crawled over to Drogon, as she noticed him starting to bleed out onto the floor.
"Drogon." She murmured, before she looked towards the Iron Throne, anger and rage filling her eyes.
Using all of her strength Daenerys pulled herself off the ground and began to limp her way towards the Iron Throne, clutching her right side, due to the fact she was bleeding.
"I'll burn her." She murmured in rage as she began to climb the stairs leading to the throne. "I'll burn them all."
Just as she was about to touch the Iron Throne, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, and just as she looked down, she saw the blade of Dark Sister emerged through her chest. With wide eyes, she slowly turned her head to look Visenya in the eyes, who had tears streaming down her face. As she removed Dark Sister from Daenerys's abdomen, she took her sister into her arms, as she watched the color drain out of her face, before gently laying her down on the ground...knowing she'd never rise again.
Deciding to wait for the others to arrive, she took the final step, before sitting down on the Iron Throne tears continuing to fall on her face, as she watched Daenerys lying dead on the steps below her, surrounded by a pool of her own blood. Dark Sister sat across her knees, covered in blood, the blood of her sister, allowing for it to cover a piece of her herself...almost like a piece of Daenerys was still with her.
In that moment, she didn't care that she was sitting on the Iron Throne. The stupid chair that divided and killed so many people. She didn't care what would happen to her. And she certainly didn't care that she was now The Queen of The Seven Kingdoms (even though she didn't know Cersei was dead).
Her thoughts were all over the place. She thought of all of the innocent people who died for her to sit on this chair...she thought of all of those people close to her who died because of this chair.
Her father.
Her mother.
Her brothers.
Her sister.
Elia.
Rhaenys.
Ned.
Catelyn.
Robb.
All she held near and dear, and considered family died because of this chair.
Then she thought of Aegon, Jaime, and Jon...hoping to all of the Gods that they were still alive.
She mentally laughed at herself for a few seconds, realizing the situation she was in. She was sitting on the throne, with her sword in her lap, with a member of her family dead at her feet, awaiting for an audience to arrive. She found it ironic and slightly funny in away, as this was the scene she pictured when Jaime told her how he killed her father during the Sacking of King's Landing.
It was as if in that moment that the Gods, Old, New, Valyrian, Water, and Fire, all wanted to mock her in that moment, or if it was fate in that matter, considering that she ended up in this position 23 years later, as a Queenslayer.
"So this is what you had to endure." She murmured as she gently ran her finger tips across the blade of Dark Sister, fully understanding the extent of what Jaime had to go through.
She didn't even look up when the hall doors opened, revealing Jon, Davos, Tyrion, Jaime, Grey Worm, and Aegon on the other side, and once they saw the sight of Visenya sitting on the Iron Throne with Dark Sister in her lap, and Daenerys's lifeless body on the steps, they all froze, unsure what to do.
Visenya didn't even acknowledge them.
"She killed my Queen!" Grey Worm shouted. "I will have her head!"
Just as he was about to unsheathe his sword, Aegon roughly grabbed his arm.
"You lay a hand on her, I will have your head." Jaime threatened, before nodding to Aegon to release the man.
Jon, Tyrion, and Davos all looked at her in disbelief...it was official now...she was a Queen. The Queen...but they were unsure of what to say to her, considering that she didn't acknowledge them. In that moment, Sunspear had regained consciousness, and just outside, now perched on the rubble, was Aegonar, overlooking Visenya, almost as if he knew that something was wrong with her.
Visenya then stood up from the throne, and sheathed Dark Sister, and carefully bent down to pick up Daenerys into her arms, and carry her dead body away from the throne. As she descended the steps, Sunspear looked to her in question as she made eye contact with the golden dragon.
"Dracarys." Visenya murmured, and within a matter of seconds, at her command, The Gold Queen blasted the throne with fire, until it bent and melted into nothing.
"Finally." She murmured, looking to the puddle of metal as she continued walking out of the throne, not saying anything to the bystanders, with one intention only.
To lay her sister to rest.
As they watched her walk out, they all stood in disbelief at the sight, not knowing what to say.
"She was right." Aegon spoke up making them all turn to him in question. "She was right. The only thing to bring down The House of the Dragon is itself."
