Carrie White walks herself to school one morning after being smacked by her mother over a trivial matter when she's suddenly enveloped by a strange mist which dissipates as quickly as it forms. The unnerved girl picks up her pace to school afterward.
The next day, Carrie notices that she's somehow slightly shorter and her clothes are a bit too big for her. This worries her and wonders if she should tell someone about it. Little did she know that her troubles are only just beginning.
