Chapter 15

Meanwhile…

"This isn't funny, not the least bit…"

Yua's grandfather was at a loss. He has searched all over for Kenjaku and hasn't even had a chance encounter with the sorcerer yet. His shikigami are doing their best to find him, but so far no luck. "This stupid blind eye potion, it can't be that powerful can it?" he asked himself.

It didn't matter either way, potion or not, he was determined to find Kenjaku before he finds and strikes at the family. No doubt his goal is to take out Yua, and he refuses to allow anyone to come after his granddaughter like that again! Worst still, if he goes after Chusi…

He paused for a moment and sighed. "I suppose I should speak with Roark about it… as much as I want Yua close to home as well, where they are at the moment is the best and safest place for both young ladies to be…" he sighed to this, despite the family trying to live a peaceful life, other sorcerers and clans see them more as threats otherwise.

Yua has already been targeted at the same time, being where she is. Kenjaku can't get to her. Not many really can unless they are… close…

"Something isn't adding up here…" He thought a little more about this, but in the end, he opted to head back home. When he arrived, he found some of those who lived in the domain at the family estate.

"Huh?" he muttered.

"Ah, Elder Tooru!"

He peered at this massive looking sorcerer. "Hi… you are…"

"Aoi Todo!" he said proudly. "I don't think we met just yet, I'm Yuuji's older brother!" he said proudly.

'That Itadori kid did mention he had many brothers…' he thought, either way he introduced himself. "I'm Yua's grandfather… granted I look great for my age!" he said.

Todo laughed. "Ah, you are the one with the wicked sense of humor. Anyways, I was asked to come and assist around here if I can. I'll be going back and forth between here and Taka Chan… I hope you understand…"

"Taka Chan? Oh, the idol!" he said in an amazed voice. "I didn't think you were her boyfriend…"

He laughed aloud to this. "She isn't permitted to have boyfriends, I respect that. I am merely there for moral support." He said proudly. "Besides, I have heard much about you, and this shikigami you have. Kenjaku's Bane? Is that it's name or Bane for short?" he asked curiously.

He nodded and summoned the mouse instantly. Todo leaned down and peered at it as the mouse stood firm, but even he noticed it trembled a little before the odd sorcerer before him. "This one has reeked havoc on Kenjaku… you have my respect!" he told the mouse rather passionately.

Bane's courage returned as its chest puffed out proudly.

"I have been searching for that bastard everywhere. Nothing, not even a stitch."

Todo nodded to this. "The thing with Kenjaku is that he knows he has the upper hand at the moment, and he is going to maintain that hand until he sees an opportunity. Question is, what opportunity is he looking for?" Todo asked.

Oddly enough, the question made sense. "It's true, we know he is after Shin…"

"What else is he after?" Todo asked. "You have said and so has Yua, Kenjaku is seeking to destroy the Tooru clan by any and all means. Could he also be waiting for a chance for such a moment to occur?" he asked.

"I have read up on your history as well, especially when your clan took care of Ryomen Sukuna and found it rather odd. Out of all others to pick from, despite knowing his potential. Why did Kenjaku focus on Sukuna when he could have used the council?"

"What are you asking Todo?"

"Well, if I were Kenjaku the first time around he used someone close to the Tooru family in hopes of eliminating them. Thus he used Sukuna to do so. He was the closes and also bared no blood relation to them despite the fact he was raised by them. But the thing is, Kenjaku has the opportunity to use this method again, doesn't he?"

This made him pause. "He is looking for either a chance to get what he wants. Be it a new shell, or to rid himself of us…"

"But he has a problem." Todo continued. "Kenjaku knows that Ryomen Sukuna isn't the same sorcerer he has dealt with before, as well, Sukuna has learned from his past experience as to what Kenjaku used him for… he won't allow himself to let such a notion happen again. So, if you were Kenjaku, what would you do?"

As odd of a person this Todo is, he thinks like they do. Sees a broader picture than what is before him.

He has brought up the idea of Kenjaku using Sukuna again since after all, he is around Yua all the time, he would be within reach of harming her… and yet… he doesn't think it's that.

"He would use Sukuna again to drive him back into madness, but the only way that would happen is if… he killed his wife."

Todo nodded in agreement. "Sukuna maybe his weapon of choice, but he isn't one that Kenjaku can obtain. If we consider this, Sukuna is around Rook too often, Rook himself has become rather formidable. I have been told of what has happened to him, it won't be long until he masters his new form and become another threat to Kenjaku but that's besides the point. What I am thinking is this, if he tries to have Sukuna take his wife's life, he has to be close to him to do it. There is no one closer to Sukuna than Rook…"

"Would he target Rook?"

Todo smirked. "I don't think Rook is even on his radar."

This took him aback a little. Despite the fact that Rook is at Sukuna's side more often than no, Kenjaku doesn't consider him a threat?

"But Rook…"

"Has heavenly restrictions, yes, we are aware and we also know how sorcerers like him see those who are like Rook, he is no better than a monkey in his mind. But that in itself is a fatal mistake. You know I have been thinking about this blind eye potion that it works on sorcerers and those who have evolved pass that… however, I didn't hear lady Tiamat state that it affects humans…"

He paused to this. "You think Rook can still…"

"Just a hunch, but at the same time. I don't know the full extent of this potion either. If anything elder, perhaps you ought to spend more time with your great grandson… before Sukuna hogs him."

Odd and yet profound advice…

"Thank you Todo…" he said graciously.

Todo smiled and nodded to him. "I am going to take a look around here for a bit. You guys really made this school top notch in my books! Let me know when you want to rebuild in Tokyo, I may even take a job there…"

It's true that the school in Kyoto has done exceptionally well, but it maybe too early to think about starting the second school just yet. In his mind, Kenjaku's death comes first!
