CH 45
Flipper was getting the crew to take boxes on board. They were shock when they saw Dutchy on the wharf so they went to greet him and he got to meet Bomber and some of the new members.
They just finish loading every thing onto Hammersley and got change in to there uniforms when the two cars stop and they saw four officers got out of the car then they walk on to Hammersley just as Flipper said "Hammersley up" they all stood at attention just as the officers walk on board.
"Crew this is commander White she the new CO of NAVCOM and this is lieutenant commander Bruce bullier, your new Captain." Mike said
"It an honor to be serving with you all and I hope to get to know each of you"
"sir on behalf of the Hammersley crew welcome aboard and you got big shoes to fill"
"Thank your chief petty officer" he said smiling
"I wish you all the best for your month patrol. I know it not the same with out buffer and me being here, but I know you will get use to it. And Dutchy welcome back" mike walk over and shook Dutchy Hand
"thank you sir and congratulations on your promotion"
"thank you Dutchy." then he walk back to his spot and have flipper a nod
"Hammersley dis miss" she said then the crew went to greet Mike and interduce them selves to the captain who they lean his navy nick name is bull.
"buffer, Nav" spider yell out the crew turn and cheered when they saw Nikki, buffer, and Victor on the wharf next to the gangway
"Permission to come aboard sir" buffer said
"Permission granted buffer" mike said then he and Nav walk on board and the crew greeted them.
"Petty officer Pete Tomaszewski, lieutenant Nikki Tomaszewski, this is commander Maxine white she the new CO of NAVCOM and this is lieutenant commander Bruce Bullier the new Captain of Hammersley"
"sir, Ma'am" they saluted each other.
"buffer is the boson on Hammersley, he on maturity leave. And this is Nav his wife" mike said
"nice to meet you sir" Nikki said then they all heard a noise so Pete lifted the baby car seat for every one to see.
"She doesn't want to miss out sir" buffer said
"May i" mike said
"sure" Mike pick Vicky up and held her in his arms
"This is Vicky there two week old daughter. She was born on Hammersley" Bull look shock
"Really sir, but shouldn't Nav have a shore posting"
"I was kidnap and Pete my husband here and crew found and rescue me. On the way back to Cairns I went into labor"
"Nikki wasn't due till tomorrow" Pete said.
"Sounds like the crew found you in time" bull said
"Yes they did"
"sir I'll tell you more about it later" Kate said
"i under stand." the Vicky made more noises so Mike rock her back to Sleep
"when did you get out of hospital Nav" ET asked
"Yesterday, it so good to be back at home"
"You were in hospital for two weeks with that infection Nav" Swain said
"True" Nikki said. they look at Vicky making little baby noises at Mike and he was smiling at her and making noises back at her.
"Pete and I we going to be christening Vicki next month when you all return"
"Next month" mike said as he look up at Nav then back down to Vicky
"yes sir third Sunday, so please put it on your calender, I'll let you a know more in the next couple of weeks plus it the day after chefo wedding remember" Nikki said
"How do you know that they would be back by then lieutenant" Maxine asked
"i called few days ago to find out the date Hammersley is due in port ma'am."
"do all the crew have to be at the christening"
"Yes they been invited specialty XO and commander Flynn since they are Vicky god parents" Nikki said smiling which shock Maxine
"god parents"
"Yes Maxine after all I only got two god sons so why not a god daughter, aye sweetie" mike said looking down and Vicky who was looking up at him.
Kate walk over and stood next to Mike looking at Vicky while smiling. "Sir why don't you carry Vicky onto the wharf, crew and I got to get change, we leave port in twenty minutes"
Mike look up at Kate and gave her a special smile "Good idea"
Kate look down at Vicky "see you next month" Kate said to Vicky
then Mike walk over to the gang way following Buffer, Nav and Maxine onto the wharf since Victor was there watching what was happening. They crew wave to them before walking behind the HRIBS. Kate did last as she and Mike wave to each other.
Mike turn to Nikki and Pete "Here you go" mike put Vicky back into her car seat.
"If you two need any thing call me"
"We will sir, enjoy your shore posting" Nikki said smiling
"I will"
Mike follow Maxine to one of the cars since the other one was already gone. Buffer, Nav and Victor walk the way they came after Pete put Vicky car seat carry in the stroller then he push it with Nikki and Victor walking walk him as they talk.
Spider showed Bull his cabin before walking down to his so he and like the others getting change.
When it was time Swain took Hammersley out of Cairns and headed north. While on the bridge Kate and the crew told bull about buffer, Nikki and Ray Walsmen so he would under stand about what happen to Nikki.
When Mike and Maxine return back to NAVCOM they went into there own office to doing there paper work. At the end of the day mike finish his paper work when Maxine walk into his office
"Mike" he turn around
"Maxine going home"
"Yeah want to come around tonight for dinner with the boys and Me. I'm sure the boys would love to see you" she said smiling
"another time Maxine I'm busy tonight" Mike said as he stood up after turning off his lamp.
"Oh perhaps another day"
"One day" Mike pick his hat up then they walk out of his office.
Mike turn the lights off before closing the door and following Maxine out of the ball pen and to the elevators while talking.
Few minutes later Mike was driving to Heidi place when he notice Maxine was following him. When he pulled up into Heidi drive way he got out and walk around to the back of the house.
Maxine slow down and look down the drive way when she saw Mike car there so she drove home knowing where he lives. Mike went to pick up the kids.
They all ran over and got into the car then mike did after thanking Heidi. When he got in he drove back down the drive way and onto the road. He look around and notice Maxine car wasn't any where so he drove home while talking to the kids.
For the next two weeks Mike notice Maxine was following him every afternoon to Heidi house till one afternoon when mike went to pick the kids up he smile when he saw buffer putting washing in the basket
"buffer" buffer turn and smile so he walk over to the fence
"sir how your shore posting"
"good how Vicky"
"Great, Nikki feeding her at the moment" then buffer turn when he saw car stop on the road.
Mike turn to see the car as well then saw the person drive away. Buffer turn to mike "Nikki and I have notice commander white following you here every night sir"
"Same here"
"you should talk to her about that, what she doing is stalking you"
"I will tomorrow"
"and the X"
"I'll send and E-mail tonight" Mike smile when he saw who walk out side and over to the fence
"hi sir" Pete turn to see Nikki walking over to the fence holding Vicky in her arms
"Hi Nav how is my god daughter"
"hungry just like her father" Mike laugh
"Nikki"
"Well it true Pete and she always let out her breath noise after she been burp knowing she happy and full. Just like what Pete and Nick dose after having dinner"
"I do not" Pete said in shock
"You do buffer, I've seen it number of times when your on Hammersley" Mike said
"I didn't relies I was doing it"
"Now our kids are doing it" Nikki said smiling.
"I guest your right"
"Dad" Mike turn around and smile when kids run over to him
"did you have a good day"
"Yes" they all said
"Ok get in the car" they turn and ran over to the car.
Mike turn to Nikki and Pete "Take care you two"
"you to sir" buffer said
Mike turn around and got into his car and drove back down the drive way.
"Pete what wrong"
"He knows commander white been following him here"
"He should talk to her about that, it stalking"
"I know. What would you like for dinner tonight"
"I got the chicken in the oven"
"Mmm chicken" Nikki laugh
"you go and get the rest of the washing in and I'll get Nick to help me with dinner"
"sure" then they went opposite directions.
That night mike sent and e-mail to Kate before he went to bed to get some sleep.
The next day it was a quiet day so Kate went to check her e-mails. She smile when she saw the ones from her family. She click onto Mike ones and read what he says then reply back. Till she open the one he sent to her the night before. Kate look shock when what Mike was telling her till flipper walk in
"sorry X" Kate turn to flipper
"It ok, just checking my e-mail"
"ok" Flipper sat down next to Kate so she could check her's.
"Are you ok" Flipper asked
"Yeah, I will be" Kate sign off then she stood up and walk out of the room.
She walk down the corridor till she saw swain
"Swain" he turn to Kate
"Yes X"
"Can we talk, ship office"
"sure" they walk down and into the ship officer where Kate close the door then turn around to him.
"I need your advice on a police matter"
"sure what is it"
"Mike sent me an e-mail. Some one who I do not want to name been following him every night from NAVCOM to Heidi house. Buffer and Nav also notice every night when Mike goes and pick up the kids. I know what the person is doing is stalking him. What can he do"
"He should confront that person and ask him, her why they following him"
"the problem is it complicated"
"Like the person out ranks him" Kate look down at the table when swain walk over to her putting his arm on her shoulder.
She look up "It commander white isn't it"
"yes. Mike said in his e-mail he going to talk to her about it and she ask him three times around to her place for dinner. He turns her down each time."
"come and sit down X I think there more to what you telling me" they walk over and sat down.
"Mike and commander white went through ADFA together"
"So they known each other for years"
"He god father to her two sons"
"ok but there some thing else"
"Yes they got well sort of a history together some thing that Mike wish it never happen"
"He sleep with her"
"Twice after she showed up with two bottles of wine but she also married at the time"
"Oh"
"He felt guilty swain for what happen the first time, the second time, he was a mess that how he ended up with shore posting cause he felt guilty. His parents told me about what happen to him till the navy had no choice but to post him on Darwin for the three patrols"
"that when he met you"
"Yes, there some thing else"
"I'm listening"
Kate told swain every thing that been happening between mike and Maxine including what happen when Mike was station up in Darwin. When she finish telling him he was shock.
"She obsess with him"
"I know but proving it is going to be difficult"
"Good point. I heard that you were suppose to be transferred to here and lieutenant Goodwin was suppose to be in Perth"
"Yes, so one from fleet command change the orders"
"Was commander White every work at fleet command" Kate thought about it
"I don't know, I could ask mike... are you thinking that she change the orders"
"If the timing fits, dose she know that you and commander Flynn are married"
"I don't know"
"Why don't you contact commander Flynn. I got a mate who might help me out, he a x cop but a lawyer now. He might able able to give me some advice"
"thanks swain" They both stood up and walk to the door when Kate stop and turn to Swain
"Swain how did you know it was commander white"
"I saw her reaction on the back of the boat when commander Flynn pick up Vicky and held her in his arms and when you walk over and stood next to him looking down at her and when Nav said that you two are Vicky god parents."
"Shock, jealous look" Kate said
"Yes"
"I'll send an e-mail to Mike" then she open the door and walk out of the office. Swain walk out few seconds later.
That night mike check his e-mail, he saw the ones from Kate so he click onto the first one and read what she put then he check the next five till he click onto the ones about Maxine. It was a reply from his e-mail.
Mike read about what Kate wrote to him about and what swain said. When he finish reading Kate put 'I'm worried that knocker will try to crash sail us either while we are at chefo wedding or Vicky christening Mike'
Mike sat back in his chair thinking about what Kate said then he got his cell phone out and look up Steve phone number then he pick up the phone to call him.
The day Hammersley return it was a Thursday afternoon. The crew looking forward to having the next few days off and looking ford to chefo wedding and Vicky christening. Bull and Kate went to see Maxine about there month patrol before leaving to go to there own homes.
Kate went to see mike who was in his office. "mike" he turn around and stood up while smiling.
They both kiss "Miss you" mike said
"miss you to. I read you message last night"
"Well I haven't heard any thing yet"
"Ok I'll go home, meet you and kids at the pub"
"Sure" they kiss once more before Kate left to go home.
That night every one showed up at the pub for drinks and dinner. Even buffer and Nav showed up. Heidi was looking after Vicky for couple of hours.
