CH 46
The next day while mike was at work, Kate went shopping to get chefo and his bride a wedding gift.
The next day was chefo wedding. The whole crew showed up they were wearing civilian clothing. They watch and chefo and his bride get married. Mike and Kate were holding onto each other hands while smiling. Pete is in a tux since he one of the groomsmen.
Nikki was sitting the third row in the pew since it a church wedding. She was sitting next to mike and breast feeding Vicky. Lucky she use a cot size cotton sheet to put over her shoulder and cover Vicky head and her breast while breast feeding.
When Vicky had her fill. Nikki past her to Mike since he was holding a hand towel which he place over his shoulder before Nikki pass Vicky to him so he could burp her. While Mike burping Vicky. Nikki tired her self up and folded the sheet and put it in the baby bag when she heard Vicky burp and let out a sign after wards which Mike heard.
When the wedding service was over and every one walk walking out side to congratulated the couple Mike was still holding onto Vicky when he, Nav and Kate walk over to where the bride and groom is.
"sir, X, Nav thanks for coming"
"thank you for inviting us" Kate said
"Your welcome X. And this must be Vicky" Mike turn around so chefo and his wife could look at Vicky
"Yes she is, she takes after her father"
"I heard that" Pete said walking up behind Nikki wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her neck.
"Well it true Pete"
"I know" then he move till he was standing next to Nikki.
"Well Nav if she is any thing like buffer here you better make sure you got plenty of bread" Chefo said making them all laugh
"Very funny mate" Pete said
"We will talk later" Mike said
"Yes sir"
"and we better get going our selves" Pete said
"We better" Chefo said.
Mike, Kate, Nikki and Vicky got into Nikki car and drove back to Nikki place so she could use the breast pump to fill three bottles up of breast milk while Kate and mike take Vicky over to Heidi place since she looking after the kids for the night. After Nikki drop off the bottles, she, Mike and Kate left in Mike car where they drove to a hotel where the reception going to be.
Every one enjoy there evening share a story or two about chefo or his bride. The crew share stories about chefo which made every one laugh. Then spider got up to the micro phone with charge, ET and buffer.
"What we going to do is do a reenactment of what happen on one patrol last year." spider said.
Then they did the reenactment on spider and the crabs which had every one laughing. Kate got up and walk over to a microphone where she said her bit which had every one in fits of laughter then they clap and cheer them on just as they were returning back to there seats.
"So if any one wanted any crabs go to chefo" spider said making every one laugh as he walk back over to his seat.
It was late by the time mike, Kate, Nikki and Buffer left the party. They went back to buffer place to drop buffer and Nikki off before going home them selves.
The next morning Kate went to pick up the kids, went to McDonald drive thru for breakfast then return home with it. When they return home they all had breakfast then the kids went to have a shower while Kate help mike get things set up then they went and got change and went to check on the kids to see if they were ready before leaving together to the church where the christening was being held.
All the crew were in there uniforms, including Buffer and Nikki. When they arrived at the church They saw the crew there in there uniforms and there families. Mike and Kate walk over to the crew to talk to then for a minute leaving the kids with them while they walk over to where buffer and Nav is.
"Buffer, Nav" Mike said
"X, Sir" Buffer said
They look down at Vicky who is in Nikki arms. She was wearing a white long christening gown and hand made shawl that she is wrap in. she was awake looking at Mike and Kate as she move her arms around.
"It time" buffer said when people started walking into the church.
Mike and Kate walk in with Pete and Nikki. Pete was carrying the baby bag for Nikki. They sat up the front while the crew and there families sat in other pews among the church goers. When the service start every one listen and sang hymn songs. When it came time for the christening. RO recorded it while another crew member as well Nikki family took photos.
When the service was over every one walk out side while talking. Pete, Nikki, Mike and Kate were stand on the steps of the church with Vicki between Kate and Nikki in one photo in another photo it was Nikki, Vicky and Pete then one with Kate and miking holding Vicky. Then there was one with the whole crew. And with Nikki parents.
Then they all left in there cars driving to mike and Kate place after they been home to get change. Pete and Nikki drove to the navy base with the photographer behind them since they want to have a photo of them and Vicky on Hammersley where the Hammersley sign is.
Once done they then left to go home to change then drove to mike and Kate place where every one will be waiting for them. When they did arrive they were the last ones to show up.
Every one had a great day Every one enjoyed the lunch which was barbeque as well other finger food and drinks. Kids love playing in the pay area while the adults sat down under a large gazebo that was set up in the back yard with table and chairs every where that Nikki and Pete hired for the party.
There was food on tables and chilli bins full of ice and drinks for every one. Vicky was asleep in her car seat carrier with a bugs net over it protecting her from bugs. She was in her stroller sleeping with Nikki next to her talking to couple of sister in laws.
Later that afternoon Kate was in side when she heard mike cell phone ring since it was on the charger in the kitchen so she walk over and unplug it from the wall and remove the cord piece before looking at the number, it was unknown number so she answer it
"Hello"
"Hello I'm looking for Mike Flynn, sorry I must have the wrong number" then the person hung up.
Kate then hung up "Strange" then it rang again so she answer it
"Hello"
"hi is Mike Flynn there" Kate look out side through the window
"Who shall I say is calling"
"Maxine white, I'm a friend of his" Kate was shock when Maxine said her name
"How did you get this number. Did he give it to you"
"Ah no I look it up, is he there"
"He busy right now can I pass a message on to him"
"Ask him to call me at NAVCOM, can you do that"
"Wait just one moment please I'll see if he free" She clutch it to her chest when she saw Nick
"nick" he turn to Kate
"Yeah"
"Can you get mike for me please, tell phone call from NAVCOM"
"sure"
"thanks" then he ran out side.
Kate thought about it if Maxine want to talk about navy stuff why didn't did she use navy phone cause it would of come on on his phone when Maxine called.
When mike walk in to the kitchen he look at Kate who still got the phone to her chest "Kate"
"Knocker" she pass the phone to him so he put it on speaker
"Maxine, is there a problem at NAVCOM"
"No problems here mike, I was wondering if you would like to go out tonight for drinks" Kate look at Mike
"sorry Maxine I can't tonight"
"Oh are you busy"
"Ah yeah I am" Kate pointed out side
"Maxine as you can hear in the back round I'm at Vicky Tomaszewski christening party" Mike smile at Kate
"Oh that I for got" Kate rolled her eyes giving mike a look he knows all to well
"Well if you will excuse me Maxine I got to go see you in the morning"
"Ok see you in the morning Mike" then they hung up.
"how did she get your phone number Mike" Kate folded her arms across her chest
"She would of look it up"
"She not going to give up"
"I know" Mike put his phone in his pocket then he step ford warping his arms around her waist and kiss her.
"for get about her ok"
"Ok" Kate wrap her arms around his neck as she kiss him back.
"Lets return to the party" Mike said
"Why not" they kiss once more before walking back out side to join every one else.
Every one was gone by eight since it was along day for every one. Nikki family left that afternoon since they were flying back to there homes since the kids got school in the morning and parents got work.
The last of the crew and families left after they help clean up before leaving and kids were in bed sleeping after a busy day them selves. Mike and Kate were in bed by nine making love before falling asleep in each other arms.
The next morning when Mike and Kate arrived at NAVCOM under ground car park they saw bull get out of his car just as they did "Morning Bull" Kate said
"Morning X, Mike"
"morning Bruce, enjoy your shore leave" Mike and Kate walk over to where bull is
"Yes I did thanks how did the wedding and christening go"
"It went great besides a few hung over sailors showing up in church for the christening" Kate said
"that bad"
"Yes but after they had some coffee and panadol they slowly came right" Kate said smiling.
They walk towards the elevator while talking some more about the weekend.
When they walk into the ball pen Mike and Kate kiss before Mike walk to his office and Kate follow Bull to Maxine office to do the normal things before Kate and bull leave Maxine office. When they did Maxine was with them when they saw mike walk around the corner. Kate notice the way Maxine smile at Mike
"Mike"
"Morning Maxine"
"i was just giving lieutenant commander Bullier and lieutenant McGregor and up date about the FFV's"
"Ok, X I received an fax from the feds. It court date for Ray Walsmen and the men we arrested" he pass Kate the fax for her to read then she look up at him
"Monday but we are out on patrol for three weeks"
"I know that, I contacted the feds, they said that the crew who on the list will have to be at court or Ray Walsmen will walk"
"So we going to be away for a week then return for the court case" Kate said
"Yes, I'll make some calls and check the boat skeletal and work it from there"
"Nav?"
"I've already called her, she down on the wharf"
"would you like for me to tell the crew" Bullier asked
"no, X can do it" mike said looking at her
"sure I can do it sir"
"Well then see you in a week" Maxine said
"Yes ma'am" Bull and Kate said. Kate and mike look at each other before she turn around and follow Bull out of NAVCOM. Mike turn and walk back to his office to make some calls.
When he was in the ball pen passing a file to one of the midshipmen, he turn and smile when he saw Nikki walk into the ball pen pushing the stroller in and over to where mike is.
"Sir you wanted to see me"
"Yes I do" he look down to see Vicky looking up at him
"go on sir, I know you want to" Nikki said grinning.
She got a hand towel out of the bag while Mike pick Vicky up. Nikki put the towel over his shoulder then he put her against it.
"Hello" mike said looking at Vicky.
Then he look at Nikki "come into my office" Nikki push the stroller towards Mike office since he was in front of her while talking to Vicky.
When they were in his office they both sat down. Mike move Vicky till she was on his lap.
"You want to talk to me sir"
"Yes" He pick up the fax and pass it to Nikki.
She read what it said then went white as a sheet. When she finish reading it she look up at him "Next week"
"Yes"
"Dose the crew know, what about the patrol?" mike smile
"Kate going to tell the crew and they will only have a week patrol. Kingston and Bendigo will be covering for the remaining two weeks"
"Ok"
"don't worry Nav between buffer, yours, swain, ET, spider and my testimony he going away for a very long time" Nikki smile
"Should leave him and his men on bright island" mike smile
"Nav"
"I know, but I think Pete would agree but suffering in jail would be better"
"it would" they look down at Vicky who making noises.
"Vicky agrees as well" Mike said making Nikki laugh
"i guest your right sir" they talk for a few more minutes before Nikki leaves to take Vicky to the women toilets so she could change Vicky diaper before going shopping.
On Hammersley they just left port for there patrol. When they were heading north Kate Pick up the microphone
"now here this XO speaking... We will be only out on patrol for a week not for three weeks... Next week is the beginning of the trial of Ray Walsmen and his men whom we have captured. The ones who would need to report to the court house, are... Flipper, Charge, buffer, RO, ET, Rhino, swain, bomber, fox, Halfy and my self. Nav and Mike names are also on the list to testified against Ray Walsmen. We will be returning back on Sunday, so please no hang overs or tooth brush duties, that is all" then she put the mic back.
"X" she turn to buffer
"dose Nikki know"
"mike going to tell her" Kate said
"sooner as he behind bars the better"
"I know buffer"
Mike finish making phone calls then he went to see Maxine who was in her office to give her an up date on the patrols as well other matters that needed to be dealt with. When they finish sorting things out mike stood up and walk to the door
"Mike" he stop and turn to Maxine
"would you like to join me for lunch today" Mike thought about it
"Sure, twelve" He saw her smile gotten even wider
"that great" mike turn and walk out of Maxine office pulling his phone out of his pocket and called Kate.
"mike" Kate said when she answer the phone
"Maxine ask me out to lunch today"
"Your joking" Kate said in shock
"I'm not I said yes"
"you what" Kate said angry
"Calm down Kate, I'm going to talk to her about her following me after work. I'm going to give her a warning"
"you spoke to swain" Kate said as she turn to swain who look at Kate then back out to sea
"Yes I have"
"Ok be carefully"
"i will, have you told the crew"
"Yes I have"
"ok, see you on Sunday"

"Fair winds" then they hung up.
"Every thing ok X" bull asked
"Yeah"
"X is it to do with what we talk about the other day" Swain asked
"Yes it is, Mike going to have a little chat at lunch time"
"Ok" He knew that Kate was talking about Maxine white.
