Tadashi stepped into the hospital, the stale air hitting him in the face. He clutched the bag in his hands a bit tighter than he should have, but that was not his biggest worry. A woman at the front desk clicked away on her keyboard, pushing up her thin-rimmed glasses. Tadashi took a shaky breath, his coffee-colored eyes holding a sense of fear in them.

"Excuse me, ma'am." Tadashi walked up to the front desk, holding his breath and crossing his fingers. The woman looked up at him, her medium-length deep blue hair tied back into a neat bun on the top of her head. She adjusted her pink glasses again and gave a smile to Tadashi.

"Can I visit patient number one-four-three?" Tadashi exhaled as the woman gave him a small nod and a visitor sticker, handing it to him. That sticker meant so much to Tadashi. It meant that he had come at the right time, that a snarky lady wasn't working at the front desk, and most of all...

'Kei is still alive.' It felt good to hear those words echo throughout his mind. Words had become far more valuable to Tadashi since that day.

That goddamn day.

Tadashi walked through the silent and clean halls of the hospital, trailing his fingers along the white cement walls. He had almost passed the room, but a harsh coughing sound came from inside.

Tadashi immediately swung the door open, only to reveal Kei sitting up in his bed, coughing profusely. Kei's skin was much paler than before. His gorgeous amber eyes looked dull, and dark circles beneath them made him look even sicker. A drip was hooked up to his arm, and a mask covered the bottom half of his face.

"Tsukki- I mean, Kei, I brought you something." Tadashi's voice was hushed, but he knew Kei could still hear him. He took a small box out of the plastic bag he was carrying, and placed it on Kei's nightstand. A slight shuffling sound came from the bed, and Tadashi's eyes immediately whipped over to get a look.

"Ta...dashi? Is that you...?" Kei's voice was weak and raspy. His expression looked as if even breathing was painful for him. Tadashi rushed over to his best friend's side, his eyes wide.

"Yes! Yes, it's me." Tadashi frantically replied, worried that it would be the last time Kei spoke to him. Every word Kei said meant the world to Tadashi, especially when he strung together full sentences. Kei shakily lifted his hand up to touch Tadashi's face, and his cold touch was something Tadashi longed to feel again.

"Did the rest of the team...drop by already?" Kei stroked the side of Tadashi's face, wanting to see the freckles that dotted his soft skin. Sometimes, his best friend's face reminded him of the galaxy. It was absolutely stunning in every aspect. Tadashi's freckles were like stars, his eyes were deep but so soft at the same time. His dark green hair was dull, but it still looked beautiful on him.

"Not yet. Sugawara-san said that they'll stop by later, but they're still really worried about you." Tadashi placed his warm hand on top of Kei's cold one, trying to transmit the heat that Kei needed badly.

"Alright...I can wait." Tadashi smiled at his response.

"Then I can wait with you."

A/N: Holy shit, you guys! I'm actually writing something?! Wow, let's just hope that I don't abandon this book, too.
