(A boy who looks just like Yuya but in white drove into the stadium, glaring at a shadow figure on the other side of the stadium as he drove closer to him)

(The You Show group looked up at the camera from the stadium within)
If there was a time she had had a de ja vu, the experience Qing was having now would exactly be that. After doing this a few times before, how can she not know what she was going through at the moment? She remembered getting in a big duel, and some time after it, she passed out. And now?
"Cat Dancer! Direct Attack!" came a young voice.
Moonlight Cat Dancer obeyed the order given to her and attacked the duelist she and her owner were facing and ended the duel.
"Oh man. I lost again," came another voice, this one in an irritated tone, as the opposing duelist sat down with legs crossed.
"Don't say that. You were close this time." The winning duelist said, as Moonlight Cat Dancer disappeared. She approached the defeated duelist and held out a hand to help her up. "Keep this up, and you'll make it big for sure, Serena."
"Yeah... I guess I was, Viola."
Even though Qing knew she was seeing this from the point of view of another her, her experiences felt so real. Was it because she was having a memory of when this version of her was young? She didn't know. What she did know... was that the Serena before her was much different from the Serena she had dueled.
"I still can't believe the professor picked me to be in the vanguard squad for the Union Mission," Qing, rather Viola, said.
"You're still calling it that?" Serena asked her.
"It sounds nicer than what everyone else is calling it. I mean, we're going to help unite the four dimensions. To call it an invasion is just... mean..."
Serena sighed and wrapped an arm around Viola, playfully messing with her purple hair. "How is someone as soft-hearted as you one of the best duelists in Academia?"
Viola giggled as she tried to get out of her grip. "Serena! Stop that!"
"Ahem," came a cleared voice. The two children stopped and turned to see one of the Obelisk Force members standing there. "Viola. The Professor is asking for your presence. The mission is ready to be executed," he informed.
The smiles on their faces turned into frowns, as Viola removed Serena's arm from her. "I'll see you soon, Serena," she said.
"Yeah. Good luck out there. You better not lose a single duel," she said back, her smile back on her face.
Viola simply nodded and followed the Obelisk Force duelist to the Professor.
What happened after that? Qing didn't know herself. For right after she followed the duelist, next she knew, she found herself strapped down to a chair.
"W-Wait... What's going on?" she asked.
"Oh, nothing for you to concern yourself with," an adult with her said. "Just a little something I promised the professor I'd do. Something that will even have our enemies join our cause willingly, and fight against all those that hold them so dearly~"
Qing/Viola's eyes widened at this in shock. "You mean brainwashing? You're going to brainwash me?! For what?!"
"Ah, pish-posh. It's your own fault for going against the Professor."
"What do you mean? I never went against the Professor!"
"Oh? And what is with all the doubt you had towards his ideals? With this, you wouldn't have any more doubts; you'd gladly give your undying loyalty to Akaba Leo!"
Qing/Viola did not at all like what was happening. Say it however he would, it doesn't change the fact that she was going to get brainwashed.
"Oh. And just to let you know, this is a prototype of sort; I've yet to actually test this method out, so be prepared to have your brain fried."
Hearing that scared her even more, as the child struggled as hard as she could to get out of her binds, crying for help. "Help! Someone help me! Professor! Serena! Someone!" Next she knew, she felt something crawling and great pain.
Qing woke up with her eyes snapped open, letting out a fearsome scream. She checked herself over and was relieved to find herself back in her original body.
"That was quite a scream," came a calm voice next to her. She looked and saw Reiji sitting on a chair next to her.
"R-... Reiji... What happened...?" she asked.
"Before you passed out? Your duel against Serena, the Fusion version of your friend, Yuzu. After that, the pair disappeared using a smoke bomb."
"Is that so...?" Qing was a bit sad to hear that the girl left. With how the duel ended up, and judging from the dream/vision she had, she knew Serena saw her as someone else. And from the looks of it, including back when Serena tried to save her, she could only guess what happened to her Fusion counterpart.
'I can only imagine how broken she would be if she finds out the truth,' she thought.
"And while you were out, your friend, Sakaki Yuya has awakened." Qing lifted her head when Reiji informed her that. "In fact, his duel is about to start."
"What?! I have to get there to support him!" She was about to get up from bed, when she felt throbbing pain in her ribs, causing her to fall, had Reiji not caught her.
"You're still injured from your duel the other day. You need your rest," he advised.
"I can't stay here and rest! Not when a friend of mine just woke up after sleeping these past couple of days! I have to go see him at least!"
Reiji wanted to argue, to tell her that she needed to rest, but the look in her eyes told him that she wasn't going to back down. "... I'll walk you," he said.
Qing was surprised with the offer, actually expecting him to make her stay or just silently let her leave. "I can walk myself actually," she said.
"I insist." Without another room for further argument, Reiji walked and supported Qing to the stadium Yuya and her friends were.
Meanwhile, at one of the Duel Stadiums, Yuya stood there with his partner and their pair of opponents.
'How... did things end up like this?' he couldn't help but wonder.
When he woke up earlier today, he spoke to Yuzu about what happened the day he was found unconscious. About Yuto and Sora, the other dimensions out there, how there was another boy with his face, everything that happened. After that, the two went to the stadium, hoping to speak with Shun about the other dimensions. However... Yuya's wake made Yuzu forgot one little, important thing. One thing that was pointed out by Bella when the pair asked a few LDS kids where Shun was.
*FLASHBACK*
"By the way, Yuya. I hope you brought your deck at least," the pirate duelist said.
"Of course I did. Why?" he asked.
"Wait, Yuzu didn't tell you?" Yuya grew more confused at his adopted sister's question.
The 'Melodious' duelist herself just realized the one thing she should've told Yuya at least on their way there. "Oh yeah! Yuya, you have a duel today! A tag duel with someone from Myth Duel School."
"Hang on, tag duel? What?" the boy asked.
Bella looked at the time on a nearby clock and a live stream of a duel at a stadium Yuya was to be in. "Your turn is almost up! Hurry to the stadium now!"
"Huh?!"
"Hopefully, your partner wouldn't mind the sudden teamwork you two will do and your deck is fit for tag teams. Now go!"
"HUH?!"
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Yes... Just a full hour since he had woken up from his couple days of rest, and he was suddenly told to duel alongside someone he was not familiar with, against a pair of duelists at that. Talk about sudden. And it didn't help that his partner had been staring at him this whole time with that creepy glare of his.
His partner was a scary looking guy. He had black hair and blood red eyes, and wore nothing but black; his shirt, pants, shoes, and even his jacket are all black. He also wore black-framed glasses, and had a skull wristband on his right wrist.
"Um... Sorry for the late introduction but... I'm Sakaki Yuya. Nice to meet you," he greeted, hoping it would get the guy to tone down the glare at least in any way.
Instead of introducing himself back, Yuya's partner simply muttered out, "You as well have darkness..."
"Huh?"
Meanwhile, in the audience, many of the You Show group stared at the field, unease about the duel Yuya was getting himself into.
"Why are you guys all nervous?" Shuzo asked.
"What do you mean 'why'? One of Yuya's opponents is Isao," Bella answered.
"Did you forget that duel we saw in the singles match?" Yuzu reminded.
While waiting for Yuya to wake, the group of duelists continued to watch the other duels that had been going on in the tournament. One of those duels involved Isao, who practically, brutally beat up his opponent, Yaiba, during the whole duel.
"It was so fearsome it gave me shivers," Futoshi said.
"To think that the ace of LDS's Synchro Course, Toudou Yaiba, would get beaten that badly..." Tatsuya said, recalling the beat down.
"On top of that, Kachidoki was the runner-up for the tournament last year," Yuzu added.
"The winner already moved up to Youth Class, though," Gongenzaka said, joining the You Show group. "So it isn't strange to consider Kachidoki the number one candidate to win this tournament."
"Still, let's not forget this is a Tag Duel now. In order to win this duel, the duelists must work together with their partner," Seth pointed out. "Who knows? Maybe Yuya will be the one to win this round with that Hades guy."
"Now that our competitors got the time to get to know their partners, let us select the Field Magic!" As Nico said that, the large Action card above the arena spun until it stopped, revealing the selected field. "Action field on! Field Magic, Bamboo Battleground activate!" As soon as he announced that, the field changed into a field of bamboo trees.
"Just a heads up, Tomato-head. While your dueling is focused around on smiles, that Kachidoki guy's dueling is more on martial arts and brute force," Hades whispered a warning to Yuya.
"Wait, what?" the Entertainment Duelist asked.
"You heard me. I heard he sent his opponent, the LDS's top Synchro duelist, to the infirmary. That's how bad the duel was."
Yuya widened his eyes in shock, as he thought back to earlier when he met up with Hokuto and Masumi, but no Yaiba. "You mean... he was the one who did it? But that's not dueling!"
"Duelists locked in battle!" Isao began.
"Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Shonji continued.
"They storm through the field!" Hades followed.
"Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of dueling!" Yuya ended.
"Action... DUEL!"
Yuya and Hades: 4000 LP
Isao and Shonji: 4000 LP
"I'll take the first move!" Hades began. "I set a monster face-down and end my turn!"
"Hah! That's it? How lame! Isao, I'll handle that guy. My turn! Draw!" Without giving his partner the chance to say anything in response, Shonji drew his next card, thus starting his turn. "I activate the magic card, Ritua Ceremonial Water Mirror! This card allows me to Ritual Summon any Gishiki Ritual Monster, so long as I pay the tributes! I release Vision Ritua from my hand!" As he said that, a pond nearby had ripples showing on the surface, as a shadow was being seen in the water. "Great sealed serpent! Arise now and unleash your banish power! Ritual Summon! Eviritua Soul Ogre!" The water suddenly rose, as a black and blue sea serpent monster appeared.
Eviritua Soul Ogre: Level 8/WATER/Aqua/2800 ATK/2800 DEF
"But wait! Vision's level is 2! That shouldn't be enough to summon out that monster!" Yuya exclaimed, fully aware of how Ritual Summons work thanks to Mieru.
Hades scoffed, explaining to Yuya, "There are some monsters that can be considered the entire tribute for certain ritual monsters. Think of it as Shadow being treated as the number of levels needed."
"It's as your partner says, Sakaki! And now, I battle! I'll have Soul Ogre attack that weak face-down monster of yours first!" The said Ritual Monster goes in to attack.
Suddenly, Hades grinned savagely, "You fool!" The face-down card became a mask that lodged itself onto Ogre, corrupting the monster.
"What?! What did you do?!" Shonji demanded.
Hades laughed, "The monster you destroyed... is a monsters known as Possession Grimm - Geist. When it's destroyed, it'll place a curse on a monster of my choosing, and lets me take control over it while it's treated as a 'Grimm' monster! So I guess you can now call this monster, Grimm Evigishki - Soul Ogre Geist!"
Soon enough, the monster was black all over with skeletal parts, as well as a mask on its face, and swapped to Yuya and Hades's side. Everyone was shocked at the sight before them.

(Possession Grimm - Geist: Effect Monster: When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, target one monster your opponent controls; you take control of that monster and it is treated as a 'Grimm' monster while face-up on the field.)
Shonji gritted his teeth at this. "So you were prepared for that... I set two cards face-down and end my turn!"
Before Yuya started his turn, Hades pointed out, "Remember, Tomato Head. Water boy Shonji there has two face-downs. Last I checked from the recording, that time Spellcaster of yours can only set 1 trap per turn so long as it targets. There are plenty of cards that don't target."
Yuya looked at him in shock. "Huh?! How'd you know my monsters' effects?!"
Hades scoffed, "You said it in front of the entire audience during your Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon's debut. And doesn't that space Spellcaster of yours do the same with spells? Yeah, the changes of our opponents each getting a spell card that targets doubles, due to cards like Miracle and Oversword. It's a move many duelists actually do, which is remembering the effects, then baiting it to happen. You can use up your time Spellcaster's effect, only to be caught in a Magic Cylinder."
"O-Oh..." Yuya sweat dropped and looked away, feeling a bit stupid for asking that question.
"Hey! Ya gonna keep talking or ya gonna duel?!" Shonji demanded.
Hades fired back, angry, "It's called 'communication', bastard! Learn how it's done!"
Shonji flinched at the attitude.
"N-Now now. Calm down, Hades-san," Yuya said. "As he said... It's my turn now! Draw!" He drew his next card. "I summon Entermate Silver Claw from my hand!" The moment his wolf monster appeared, Yuya rode on his back.
Entermate Silver Claw: Level 4/DARK/Beast/1800 ATK/700 DEF
Hades raised an eyebrow, just staying in place, "Wow... we're just missing a person in a red hood so the wolf can outright maim and eat them."
Meanwhile, the crowd cheers for Yuya, who waved back at them all.
"Ah! Yuya-niichan!" Futoshi called.
"In front of you!" Ayu shouted.
Yuya looked ahead and saw that he and Silver Claw were making their way through some bamboos, to his surprise. Silver Claw, on the other hand, dashed on through, causing Yuya to catch some leaves in his mouth, his eyes in swirls. This caused many people to laugh at how ridiculous he looked.
Hades sighed, walking over to a bamboo and pulling it back, creating tension before flinging himself over the arena.
"Whoa! What is this?!" Nico gasped out
Hades slowly grinned as he used the bamboos to move around quickly, brushing past Action Cards along the way.
"Hades is moving swiftly past the bamboos!" Nico excitedly shouted.
"Whoa! Not bad!" Bella exclaimed.
"He's moving so fast, I'm getting the shivers!" Futoshi exclaimed.
"Like a ninja!" Kai stated.
"I admit, I'm a bit jealous of that speed of his," Seth said.
"And with how fast he's going, he'll locate the Action cards with ease and be able to assist Yuya-niichan!" Tatsuya observed.
"Battle! I'll attack directly with Silver Claw!" Yuya declared. "And when Silver Claw attacks, all Entermate monsters I control gains 300 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase!"
Silver Claw glows and gains more power.
Entermate Silver Claw: 1800 + 300 = 2100 ATK
Isao rushed and snatched an Action card. "Action Magic, Battle Lock! This prevents monsters from attacking this turn!"
As he said that, chains suddenly appeared and bound the only two monsters on the field. Doing so caused Yuya to fall off his monster.
Hades quickly snatched an Action Card, "Action Magic Twinkle Comet! I lower Soul Ogre's ATK by 1000 to inflict 500 points of damage!"
As Soul Ogre's ATK went down, some meteors appeared from the sky and started falling on them.
Eviritua Soul Ogre: 2800 - 1000 = 1800 ATK
Shonji snatched up a card. "Action Magic, Acceleration! This reduces an effect damage to zero!"
The meteors all exploded, and dispersed.
"I'll end my turn!" Yuya ended, painfully standing back up on his feet.
Hades continued using the bamboo to move around quickly.
"My turn. Draw!" Isao drew his next card. "Since there are no monsters on my and my partner's field, while there is one on my opponent's, I Normal Summon Hayate the Earth Soaring Star in attack mode without tribute." A tough warrior appeared on the field.
Hayate the Earth Soaring Star: Level 5/EARTH/Warrior/2100 ATK/0 DEF
"There it is! Kachidoki has already summoned out a high level monster!" Nico announced.
Hades frowned at how lucky the guy was with his draw. He looked up and saw an Action card ahead of him. He reached out to get it, when a bamboo struck his hand, causing him to pull his hand back in pain and tumble down to the ground.
"Hades-san!" Yuya called out in worry.
"Worry about yourself, boy!" came Shonji's voice, as he went and tackled Yuya right off his monster.
"Battle! I attack Silver Claw with Hayate!" Isao declared. Hayate leapt from his spot and jabbed his staff into Silver Claw, destroying it.
Yuya and Hades: 3700 LP
Isao and Shonji: 4000 LP
"And there's the first damage of the duel!" Nico announced.
Taking that as his cue, Shonji got off of Yuya.
The latter got up from his spot and took Silver Claw's card off his disk. "Destroyed Pendulum monsters are sent to the Extra Deck," he said, placing the card in the said slot.
"I end my turn," Isao ended, getting the card that Hades almost got.
"That's cheap!" Ayu exclaimed.
"That's cheating!" Kai also exclaimed.
"Hades-san would've gotten that card if Kachidoki and his partner didn't get in the way," Tatsuya said.
"So underhanded, it gives me shivers," Futoshi added.
Back on the field, Hades returned to Yuya's side, rubbing his wrist. "I won't apologize for being unable to get that card," he told him.
"No. It's fine. It's not your fault," the goggle-wearing boy assured, looking at Isao in disappointment. "Are you going to keep dueling like that no matter what?" he muttered.
"Back to me then. Draw!" Hades drew his next card and started his turn. "By releasing Grimm Evigishki Soul Ogre, I Advance Summon Grimm - Death Stalker!" In place of his 'borrowed' Ritual monster, a fully armored, overgrown scorpion with a yellow stinger appeared on the field.
Grimm - Death Stalker: Level 6/DARK/Insect/2300 ATK/1300 DEF
"Now prepare yourself! I attack Hayate with Death Stalker! Death Stinger!" The scorpion charged at his opponent. "And when Death Stalker attacks, my opponent cannot activate Magic cards! That includes Action Magic!" The large monster grabbed Hayate by the arms and struck with its stinger.
Yuya and Hades: 3700 LP
Isao and Shonji: 3800 LP
"Yes! They got him!" Kai cheered.
"No, hang up. One of them still has some face-downs!" Seth warned.
"Trap card open! Rope of Life! Since a monster was destroyed and sent to my Graveyard, or in this case, my and my partner's, at the cost of all the cards in my hand, that monster is summoned back on the field with 800 more ATK points!" Shonji said, as he discarded his whole hand to have Hayate return to the field.
Hayate the Earth Soaring Star: 2100 + 800 = 2900 ATK
"And with Ritua Shellfish's effect, since he's sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can look at the top three cards of my deck and return them to the top or bottom of my deck in any order I want." Shonji looked at the top trio of cards, moved their position around, and placed them back on top of the deck.
Hades gritted his teeth at this. "I set one card face-down and end my turn!"
"My turn!" Shonji drew his next card. "First I summon Ritua Beast!" Appearing on the field is what seemed like a green lizardman of sort.
Ritua Beast: Level 4/WATER/Beast/1500 ATK/1300 DEF
"Through his effect, when he's summoned, I can special summon a Level 4 or lower 'Ritua' monster from my Graveyard! Come forth, Ritua Abyss!" Appearing next to it in Defense mode was a young, humanoid monster with a shark-based head.
Ritua Abyss: Level 2/WATER/Fish/800 ATK/500 DEF
"Next, Abyss's effect! When he's summoned, I add a 'Ritua' monster with 1000 or less DEF from my deck to the hand! I will be adding Shadow Ritua!" Shonji added the chosen card to his hand. "And now I activate Ritua Ceremonial Water Mirror's effect in my Graveyard! By shuffling it back in my deck, I can add a 'Ritua' Ritual Monster from my Graveyard to my hand! And of course, I am adding back Soul Ogre!" He took the two cards from his graveyard slot and shuffled one card back into his deck and added the other card to his hand. "Shadow's effect from my hand! By discarding him to the Graveyard, I am able to add a 'Ritua' Ritual Magic card to my hand from my deck! And what other card but Ritua Ceremonial Water Mirror?" With that smirk on his face, he added the card he just shuffled in his deck back to his hand. "Now, trap card, Meditation Technique of the Ceremonial Water Mirror! By revealing the one Ritual Magic I have in my hand, I can add two 'Ritua' monsters from my Graveyard to my hand. And those two monsters I will be adding are Shadow and Vision!"
"Just those moves and his hand is practically filled with cards?!" Yuya gasped in shock.
"And I'm not done yet! I activate Ritua Ceremonial Water Mirror and use it to release Shadow Ritua in my hand! Great sealed serpent! Arise and unleash your banish power once more! Ritual Summon! Eviritua Soul Ogre!" His Ritual Monster returned once more, much to Yuya and Hades's dismay.
"Great. That guy is back," the latter said.
"And now, I activate his effect! Once per turn, I am able to discard a 'Ritua' monster to shuffle one face-up card my opponent controls to their deck!" Hearing that surprised many. "Truth be told, I was saving this for Sakaki's Pendulums, but you there..." He pointed at Hades. "I want pay back for stealing my monster earlier. With the cost of Vision, I am sending your Death Stalker away! Soul Extinguisher!" His monster let out a loud roar, one that sent shockwaves right at Hades's monster and forced him back in his deck.
"Make a split, Yuya!" At Hades's shout, both he and the Entertainment Duelist rushed into the bamboo forest in search for an Action Card.
"You're not escaping! Soul Ogre! Attack directly! Soul Buster!" The Ritual monster unleashed a powerful stream from its mouth right at Hades.
Yuya saw an Action card and reached out for it, when Kachidoki tackled him away from it. "I'm not letting you have this card," he said, setting the Action card he already had before taking the other one.
Hades saw that getting the cards wasn't an option and went for a plan b. "I activate my trap card, Pool of Grimm! Once per turn, I reveal the top card of my deck until I reach a monster card! If the card revealed is a 'Grimm' monster, that monster is special summoned! Otherwise, it and other cards revealed this way are sent to the graveyard!" Hades exclaimed.
(Pool of Grimm: Normal Trap: Reveal the top card of your deck until you reach a monster card. If the card revealed is a 'Grimm' monster, Special Summon it. Otherwise, send it and other cards revealed this way to the Graveyard. If you control no monsters while this card is in your Graveyard, except on the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, you may banish this card and all 'Grimm' monsters in your Graveyard. Special Summon one 'Grimm' monster from your deck whose Level is equal to or less than the number of 'Grimm' monsters banished this way.)
Hades took the top card of his deck and flipped it face-up. "Yes! The card revealed is a monster card, Grimm - Apathy! And since it's a 'Grimm' monster, it is getting Special Summoned!" As he said that, something walked out and into the opening from the woods. That something was long and boney, and really creepy. So creepy all the young kids in the audience flinched, hid, or cried in fear.
Grimm - Apathy: Level 7/DARK/Fiend/2000 ATK/1500 DEF
(Grimm - Apathy: Effect Monster: This card cannot attack unless you control another 'Grimm' monster. When this card is summoned, all monsters your opponent controls cannot attack until the End Phase of the next turn this card was summoned. Each time a 'Grimm' monster is summoned while you control this card, reduce your opponent's monsters ATK by 300 and increase this card's ATK by 300.)
"And with Apathy's effect, when summoned, all monsters my opponent controls are unable to attack until the end of the next turn of its summon!" As he said that, the Apathy let out a terrifying screech, one that forced Isao and Shonji's monsters to go to lose all will to want to battle.
The 'Ritua' duelist clicked his tongue at how lucky of a draw Hades got. "I end my turn here..."
"Then it's my turn!" Yuya drew his next card. A smile formed on his face at the card he drew. "It's here. I, using the Scale 4 Entermate Trump Witch and the Scale 8 Magician of Chronomancy, set the Pendulum Scale!" He set the two cards on his disk, and his two monsters appeared on the field with their scale numbers underneath. "With this, I'm able to simultaneously summon out monsters from Levels 5 to 7! Swing, Pendulum of my Soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth, with your heroic and dichromatic eyes. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon: Level 7/DARK/Dragon/2500 ATK/2000 DEF
"Here's Sakaki's Pendulum Summon!" Nico happily announced.
"The fun has just begun!" Everyone cheered at hearing his catchphrase.
"The fun?" Isao repeated questionably.
"Yes. Duels should be fun!" Yuya told him.
"We're only here to win," Shonji said.
"And you don't think we do?" Hades retorted.
"As Hades-san said. But winning isn't all there is to dueling!" Yuya explained.
Both Shonji and Isao were not at all swayed by his words.
"And now, I'll summon out Entermate Cameldown from my hand!" A camel with a hat and a polka dotted bow tie appeared on the field.
Entermate Cameldown: Level 4/EARTH/Beast/800 ATK/1800 DEF
"Battle! I attack Ritua Beast with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"I activate the Action Magic I set, Avoid, to negate your monster's attack," Isao intervened, activating the set card.
Before Odd-Eyes attack can hit, Ritua Beast leapt over the monster.
"Kachidoki responds to that attack splendidly!" Nico announced.
"In that case, I attack Beast next with Apathy!" Yuya continued.
"Yeah... You can't," Hades said, causing the boy to look at him. "Unless if there's another 'Grimm' monster on our side of the field, Apathy can't attack."
"Huh?!" Yuya and several others in the audience gasped at this information.
"So he can only attack with Odd-Eyes?" Seth questioned.
"No... There's still one other thing he can do!" Bella corrected.
"Well, we didn't think it would be that easy to beat Isao, whether it's in a singles match or a tag duel, right?" Yuya said, looking up at one side of his pendulum scale. People caught on to what he was thinking. "I activate Entermate Trump Witch's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, I can use monsters on my field to perform a Fusion Summon! I'll use Entermate Cameldown and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon as the Fusion Materials! Beast of the burning sands. Become one with the dragon of mystery and give birth to a new power! Fusion Summon! Come forth, ferocious dragon of luminous feral eyes! Level 8! Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" As Yuya's two monsters merged, his feral Fusion Monster appeared on the field.

"There it is! Pendulum Fusion! Sakaki's new ace monster!" Nico shouted, as everyone cheered at the successful summon. "The two Pendulum Monsters used as Fusion Materials are sent to the Extra Deck!"
Yuya smiled, as his goggles sent a small flash. Seeing that slightly shocked Isao, as he remembered something from the past.
"... It must have been fated since then for me to duel you now," he muttered, low enough for the three other duelists to hear.
"Kachidoki?" Shonji questioned.
"What are you talking about?" Yuya asked.
Rather than answering, Isao challenged him. "Come face me!"
Though he didn't know what he meant, the 'Entermate' duelist knew better than to keep his guest waiting much longer. "Battle! I attack Hayate the Earth Soaring Star with Beast-Eyes!" Yuya's newly summoned monster charged at its target.
"I activate the Action Magic, Encore. This allows me to reuse an Action Magic that was used in this duel. The one I'll be copying is Avoid," Isao said, as his monster leaned to the left and dodged Yuya's monster's attack.
"Once again, Kachidoki avoids an attack!" Nico announced.
"What's wrong? Are you done with you fun, carefree Dueling?" Shonji mocked with a laugh.
"What was that?!" Yuya asked.
"Just hurry up and end your turn," Isao coldly told him.
"Next time, I'll make sure you both have fun. I end my turn."
"Draw." Isao began his turn. "If I control an EARTH monster, I can summon Temna the Sky Rising Star from my hand without a Tribute." Another warrior appeared on Isao's field.
Temna the Sky Rising Star: Level 5/EARTH/Warrior/2100 ATK/1000 DEF
"With Tenma and Hayate on the field, I activate the Magic Card, Fusion!" Hearing that surprised Yuya. "Star racing across the heavens, pass over the earth! Become one and shine as an eternal ruling star! Fusion Summon! To me, Idaten the Supreme Victory Star!" From the two monsters came what seemed like a shogun with a trident.
Idaten the Supreme Victory Star: Level 10/EARTH/Warrior/3000 ATK/2200 DEF
"What is this?! Kachidoki also performed a Fusion Summon!" Nico announced in a surprised tone. "After falling short of the Championship last year, he's evolved even further!"
"Its ATK is the same as Beast-Eyes, but knowing Yuya..." Gongenzaka spoke from the audience section.
Back on the field, Yuya glanced to the side... "Need an Action Card..." he muttered, taking off to find something to help him. Hades followed suite, not wanting to risk losing this turn, as he had a horrible feeling about Isao's Fusion Monster.
"Let me tell you what Idaten's monster effect is," the guy spoke. "Whenever this card battles a monster with a lower level, the opposing monster's ATK becomes 0."
"What was that?!" Yuya asked, not slowing down from his running.
"If Beast-Eyes' ATK becomes 0, Yuya and his partner will take 3000 points of damage," Yuzu said.
"And not only that, but if Soul Ogre attacks and destroys Apathy, that'll leave them wide open for Beast's attack," Seth added.
"And if that hits..." Bella continued, not wanting to finish that thought.
Isao, using his martial arts skill, broke off one bamboo and tossed it. The stick was embedded in the ground and caused Yuya to trip over. "I equip the Equip Magic card, Magical Star Sword to Idaten!" he continued, rushing over to where the boy saw an Action card. "By sending one Magic card that I've added to my hand this turn to the Graveyard, the equipped monster's ATK goes up by 100!" As he said that, his monster's weapon changed into that of a curved sword.
Hades gritted his teeth at this and moved faster to find an Action card. He spotted one card in a split bamboo tree and was about to get it, when Shonji suddenly tackled him down. "Whoops! Sorry about that!" he said, not sounding that apologetic at all, as he took the card from its place. "As this is a tag duel, what's mine is my partner's. Since I added an Action Magic card to my hand, I'll send it to the Graveyard and boost Idaten's power."
Idaten the Supreme Victory Star: 3000 + 100 = 3100 ATK
"Because Action Magic cards are Magic cards, every one he sends to the Graveyard will increase its ATK!" Tatsuya said.
Yuya looked around and saw another Action card high on a bamboo tree. He was about to go get that card, when Isao did what Shonji did to Hades and tackled him down, taking the card instead. "I'm sending a second card to the Graveyard," he said, emotionlessly and somewhat mockingly showing the card to the downed and injured Entertainment Duelist.
Idaten the Supreme Victory Star: 3100 + 100 = 3200 ATK
This pattern kept going on for a while. Neither Shonji nor Isao were giving Hades or Yuya a chance to get any Action card they spotted and deliberately took the cards, boosting Idaten's power even further.

"That's fighting dirty!" Kai exclaimed, not believing they were actually watching this duel continue with how both duelists kept attacking their opponents like they were.
"Yuya-niichan's Life Points is currently at 3700," Tatsuya said.
"If this keeps up, he'll lose!" Ayu worriedly say.
Back on the field, both Hades and Yuya ran through the woods.
"If he gets another Action Card, it's over for us!" Yuya said.
"I've an idea!" Hades told him. "It'll be risky, but it's good an idea as any right now!" Yuya turned to him, indicating that he has the shorter duelist's attention.
"The two of us will never let you get a hold of an Action card!" Isao said, already catching up to them.
"Best give it up now, suckers!" Shonji said, appearing from the other side.
"Up until now, Sakaki Yuya, you've lived your life strolling along a bright path without a single shadow falling over it."
"What are you talking about?!" Yuya asked Isao.
"I walked only on a pitch-black path of darkness. I will not lose to someone like you! I will attain victory for sure!"
"You don't know that for sure!"
Hades perked up when he saw something up ahead. "Up there! An Action card!"
This caught the attention of the other three duelists, as they saw the spotted card on the ground.
"I will definitely get that card!" Yuya claimed, running with all his might.
"Like I'll let you! Battle! I attack Beast-Eyes with Idaten!" At Isao's command, his Fusion Monster leapt for his target, who was running alongside his duelist. "Idaten's effect activates! Beast-Eyes ATK becomes 0!" A green aura suddenly appeared around Yuya's Fusion monster and bound it, leaving it wide open for Idaten's attack. "The wind of victory only blows for those who have seen true darkness!"
Hades didn't need to look to know Shonji was planning to tackle him and possibly Yuya down to end the match. And even if it was just him, he knew Isao would stop Yuya from getting the card one way or another. If he wanted to act, now was the time. Feeling the motion of his legs, he followed through them and managed to land a well-timed reverse kick right on Yuya's back, causing the guy to tumble and roll forward, straight to the Action card.
"Get it, Tomato-head!" he managed to shout, as Shonji pinned him down once more.
Just then, Idaten's attack hit its mark on his target, causing an explosion to occur. Everyone looked on, wondering what happened. Did Yuya and Hades lose? Did they survive? What was happening there?
The smoke faded, revealing a standing Isao... looking down at Yuya, with an Action card in hand.
"What's this?! Sakaki managed to get an Action card, but his remaining life is only 100!"
Yuya and Hades: 100 LP
Isao and Shonji: 3800 LP
"Don't think this is over yet," Isao said. "I still have my partner's monsters. Soul Ogre, you first! Attack Apathy!" The Ritual Monster did as its duelist's partner's ordered and went for its target, clawing it up in pieces.
"They're wide open now!" Bella shouted.
"And Kachidoki's is keeping Yuya's arm down with his leg, preventing him from using the Action Card if it could help them!" Seth added, not liking the situation at all.
"Now to end this. Ritua Beast! Choose whichever duelist you like, attack them directly!" Isao ordered the remaining attacking monster. It did as told and went for Yuya.
"From my Graveyard, I activate the trap card, Pool of Grimm's second effect! Except for the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, if I control no monsters on the field, I can banish it and all 'Grimm' monsters in my Graveyard and Special Summon one 'Grimm' monster from my deck whose Level is the same as or equal to the number of monsters banished this way!" Hades intervened. "The cards being banished from my Graveyard now are Possession Grimm - Geist, Grimm - Death Stalker, and Grimm - Apathy! That makes a total of three monsters! Therefore I summon a Level 3 or lower 'Grimm' monster from my deck! Come now, Grimm - Boarbatusk!" A black boar in a boney armor appeared on the field in Defense Mode.

"In that case we'll get rid of that monster!" Shonji said, giving his monster the 'ok' to destroy this newly summoned one.
Upon seeing that no other moves can be made at this moment, Isao and Shonji got off Yuya and Hades respectively, the former of the pair ending his turn. The two may be... cheap duelists, but they still has their pride as duelists in general. "Looks like you lived by the skin of your teeth, but your own darkness will be upon you soon," he said, mostly to Yuya. "Fall into the pitch-black darkness."
The You Show duelist and his partner both got back up on their feet. "Shut it," the latter said. "My turn. Draw!" He drew his next card. He grimaced at what he drew and what were in his hand. "Since my opponent controls a monster and I don't, I special summon Grimm - Ursa from my hand!" Appearing on the field is a black bear in white, boney armor in Defense Mode.
Grimm - Ursa: Level 5/DARK/Beast/2100 ATK/1600 DEF

"Next I summon Grimm - Lancer!" Appearing next was a bee-like monster in metallic armor.

(Grimm - Lancer: Effect Monster: If this card is Normal Summoned while you control a 'Grimm' monster, you may switch this card to Defense Mode and Special Summon a 'Grimm' monster from your hand.)
"And now I activate Lancer's effect! When this card is summoned while I am already controlling a 'Grimm' monster, by switching him to Defense Mode, I can Special Summon out another 'Grimm' monster from my hand! Come, Grimm - Beowolf!" The last to appear in this chain was what seemed like a werewolf with a skull mask, also in defense.
Grimm - Beowolf: Level 4/DARK/Beast/1000 ATK/1000 DEF
(Grimm - Beowolf: Effect Monster: When you control another 'Grimm' monster while there's no other monsters in the same column as this card, this card can attack your opponent directly. "I end my turn here..." Hades ended.
"What is this?! They started off with no monsters on the field, but somehow, Hades managed to put up a wall of them!" Nico announced.
The You Show group all sighed in relief at this sight.
"At least they'll be safe like this," Yuzu said.
"Even if Kachidoki and his partner can destroy them, so long as they don't touch their Life Points, they'll still be safe," Seth pointed out.
Shonji held back a laugh at the wall of monsters. "You seem to have forgotten something," he said. "Soul Ogre has the ability to banish one monster on the field!" The You Show duelists all grimaced at the reminder. "My turn! Draw!" He drew his next card. "Lucky you. I didn't draw a 'Ritua' monster, so no Soul Ogre effect." They sighed in relief... until- "Unluckily for you, I drew a card that allows me to add such monsters to my hand! Magic card, Salvage! With this, I can add two WATER monsters with 1500 or less ATK from my Graveyard to my hand! Who better than Shadow and Vision?" He added the two cards back to his hand. "And with Soul Ogre's effect, send away that wolf! Soul Extinguisher!" The Ritual Monster sent away his target.
Seeing the danger they were in again, Hades ran to search for another Action card. For some reason, however, Yuya stayed in place, in which his friends all panicked in seeing.
"Why is Yuya just standing there?!" Yuzu asked.
"It might be okay. Maybe he got a card that can negate the attack," Bella said, trying to look on the bright side of things.
"Battle! Idaten, Beast! Clear that field of monsters!" Shonji ordered, causing the pair to go for their targets.
Hades, still searching for a card, looked back and saw Yuya still standing there with a dazed look on his face. While many people would wonder why, he had a slight and funny feeling about what was going on with the boy. And sadly for him, his two defensive monsters got hit by their attackers and were destroyed.
"Now to finish this! Get him, Soul Ogre! Soul Buster!" Shonji's ace monster unleashed its own attack at Hades.
"If I can't find an Action card... From my hand, I activate a monster effect!" Hades called out, revealing the last card in his hand. "When I am targeted for a direct attack, by discarding Grimm - Seer to the Graveyard, I can reveal the top card of my deck! If the card revealed is a 'Grimm' monster, by paying half my Life Point, I can Special Summon it and negate the attack! If it is a Magic or a Trap card, and its conditions to activate it are met, I can activate it! All other cards are sent to the Graveyard!"
(Grimm - Seer: Effect Monster: When your opponent declares a direct attack, you may discard this card and reveal the top card of your deck. The following effect activates depending on the card revealed:

"Still struggling?!" Shonji sneered.
"Give me something," Hades muttered, revealing the top card. "The card revealed is Grimm - Griffon! Through Seer's effect, by paying half of my Life Points, this card is special summoned!" Appearing on the field is a griffon-like monster.
Grimm - Griffon: Level 4/DARK/Winged-Beast/1900 ATK/1400 DEF
(Grimm - Griffon: Effect Monster: If this card destroys a monster by battle, you may add one 'Grimm' monster from your deck to your hand whose level is less than or equal to that monster. If this card destroys a monster by battle while you control another 'Grimm' monster, you may Special Summon that card instead.)

"And since Griffon was special summoned through Seer's effect, your monster's attack is negated!" A barrier appeared and blocked Soul Ogre's attack. "Furthermore, since I Special Summon a monster through this effect while my Life Points is less than 1000, I destroy one monster my opponent controls whose Level is equal to or less than it! Begone, Ritua Beast!" Red tentacles suddenly shot out of the ground at the targeted monster and dragged it into the shadows, never to be seen again.
"Don't think you can keep relying on those miracles forever! I end my turn!" Shonji ended.
Upon hearing those words, Yuya moved to begin his turn, when he felt something in him pulse. It was an odd feeling, felt like something wanted to lash out from within him, and it was kind of painful. When he blinked, he found himself in a dark void. The duelist looked around and saw nothing, no one around. No one... but Yuto. The 'Entermate' duelist reached out his hand to his lookalike, who did the same. Neither of them could explain what, but something dragged the pair together, and a whole new power emerged.
Outside of his mindscape, Yuya had an odd aura around him, and his eyes were glowing red. Adding on the rain clouds above and the rain it poured down, it made him seem like a whole new person, something Isao, Shonji and Hades noticed, with the latter coming to a stop in slight shock.
"My turn. Draw," Yuya coldly began. "I activate the Action Magic, Mad Hurricane. This returns all cards on my field back into my deck." To everyone's shock, Yuya actually did just that, as he returned both his Pendulum Monsters and Hades's Griffon back into their decks.
"Sakaki and Hades both have no cards on their field!" Nico announced in shock.
It was here, Qing and Reiji finally arrived at the stadium, though still hiding by the entrance to prevent themselves, mainly Reiji, from being seen.
"Good. Looks like it's not over yet," the former said.
"I, using the Scale 3 Entermate Turn Toad and the Scale 5 Entermate Cheer Mole, set the Pendulum Scale," Yuya continued, as his two monsters appeared on the field. "With this, I am able to simultaneously summon out multiple Level 4 monsters. Swing, Pendulum of my Soul. Draw an arc of light across the ether. Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monster servants!" Two rays of light shot out of the portal. "From the Extra Deck, Entermate Cameldown and Entermate Silver Claw." His two monsters appeared on the field.
Qing was confused as to why Yuya would summon both his monsters in Attack Mode when both have lower ATK compared to his opponents. That is... until she noticed what he said when he summoned it.
'But wait... Yuya doesn't have any Xyz Monsters. Doesn't he?' she wondered.
"With the Level 4 Entermate Cameldown and Entermate Silver Claw, I construct the Overlay Network!" Yuya continued, as a familiar portal appeared below his monsters, both that changed into rays of light of their respective attribute and leapt into it. "Fangs of pitch-black darkness, rise up against the foolish oppression! Descend now! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Appearing onto the field is a whole new dragon, familiar to only a certain few watching.
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: Rank 4/DARK/Dragon/2500 ATK/2000 DEF
"Th-This is?! A Pendulum Summon into an Xyz Summon?!" Nico spoke in shock.
"That monster!" Qing gasped, familiar with that monster.
She wasn't the only one surprised at this. Yuzu and Shun, the only other two who know that monster and who its true owner is, were just as surprised to see it in Yuya's possession. There was one other who was aware, but instead of shock, he was more neutral.
'As I thought. It was in his possession,' Reiji thought.
"I activate Dark Rebellion's monster effect," Yuya continued. "By using one Overlay Unit, it can halve the ATK of one Level 5 or higher monster until the end of the turn and increase its own ATK by that amount. Treason Discharge!" With one unit absorbed into the dragon, Dark Rebellion used its effect and unleashed crackling electricity at Idaten, absorbing his power.
Idaten the Supreme Victory Star: 3600 / 2 = 1800 ATK
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: 2500 + 1800 = 4300 ATK
"By using the remaining Overlay Unit, I activate Dark Rebellion's effect. Treason Discharge!" With the last unit, he used the effect again, this time on Soul Ogre.
Ritua Soul Ogre: 2800 / 2 = 1400 ATK
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: 4300 + 1400 = 5700 ATK
"An ATK of 5700?!" Isao gasped.
"Oh no he doesn't!" Shonji went and snatched a nearby Action card on a bamboo tree. "Action Magic, Tailwind! With this, all monsters on our field gains 100 ATK times their own Level!" A smooth wind was blown, and surrounded Shonji and Isao's monsters.
Idaten the Supreme Victory Star: 1800 + 100 x 10 = 1800 + 1000 = 2800 ATK
Ritua Soul Ogre: 1400 + 100 x 8 = 1400 + 800 = 2200 ATK
Ritua Abyss: 800 + 200 = 1000 ATK
The 'Ritua' duelist smirked. "Now what are you going to do, Sakaki Yuya?! Even if you do destroy any one of our monster, we will still have some Life Points left and we will crush you!"
Unfazed by both the action and his words, Yuya simply resumed his turn. "I Normal Summon Entermate Spike Eagle." And out came a reddish-brown eagle wearing sunglasses.
Entermate Spike Eagle: Level 2/WIND/Winged-Beast/900 ATK/900 DEF
"I activate Spike Eagle's effect. I target one face-up monster on my field. If that monster attacks a Defense Position monster, it deals piercing damage to it."
Hearing that shocked his opponents. "What?!" Isao gasped.
"My target is Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon." Spike Eagle glows as it flew around its comrade, granting it special power. "Battle. I attack Ritua Abyss with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon."
Not wanting to lose this, Isao looked about and saw an Action card nearby and grabbed it. "Action Magic, Battle Change! This turn, I can change the attack target for all of my opponent's monsters! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, you are going into combat with my monster!" Just as he said that, Idaten got in between the two monsters that were to battle. "Idaten's effect activates! If it battles a monster with a lower level, that monster's ATK becomes 0!" While that would've been a good idea, while that effect would've given him a win under normal circumstances...
"Xyz monsters do not possess levels. Therefore that effect is negated," Yuya coldly informed, to Isao's shock.
"What?! If they don't possess a level, then isn't their Level 0?!"
"Calm down, Kachidoki!" Shonji told his partner. "Just be glad I found and used that Action card when I did! Even if your monster does get beaten, we still have a chance-!"
"Action Magic, Against the Wind!" came Hades's voice. The pair of duelists turned and saw the guy on a tree with an activated Action card. "You guys got too overconfident in your win, you forgot about me. Through this card's effect, all monsters my opponent controls go to Defense Mode, and have their DEF lowered by 1000." To their shock, a powerful wind was blown behind Dark Rebellion, forcing their monsters into the defense and weakening them.

"Let's also not forget, Yuya's monster has a piercing effect now. In other words, this duel... is ours," Hades said.
"Revolt of Lightning, Disobey!" Yuya called out, as his Xyz monster went and struck Idaten head on, ending the duel in one fell swoop.

As soon as the duel was over, the field returned to normal. Rather than cheers for the pair of victors, everyone was just plain speechless at what they saw.
"Th-The winners are... Sakaki Yuya and Hades," Nico announced with a stutter.
Shuzo was the only one who attempted to cheer for one of the victors. "G-Good job, Yuya," he weakly said.

They weren't the only ones who thought that. As far as everyone knew, never had they ever seen Yuya dueled the way he did. He was usually a cheery type of guy, so for him to end the duel so coldly... It wasn't like him.
Unknown to everyone, the boy himself returned to normal. His glowing red eyes returned to normal, and his hair which was sticking up slightly was back down. Upon seeing the downed Isao and Shonji, the boy rushed to their side. Or at least, he would've, if Hades didn't hold him back.
"Hades-san?! What are you doing?!" he asked.
"That's my line to you," he said. "What are you thinking about doing?"
"What do you mean? Both Kachidoki and Shonji might be hurt."
"Did you forget what happened to that made them like that?"
At Hades's question, the 'Entermate' duelist looked down in both shame and guilt, as well as worry and confusion.
Upon seeing that his words got through to him, Hades turned to one of the exits. "Come find me later," he whispered to Yuya, as he left the field.
