Hey... guys. Sorry it took a while to get stuff updated. Besides the previous college life and other stories, life itself decided to hit me hard with one of the world's most emotional event to ever occur for anyone...

... The passing of a pet dog...

In all honesty, I wouldn't say it happened so fast and so suddenly... For the sake of any first-time pet owners, I suggest you take what I say here to the heart. If you see your dog not eating, if she's drinking little water or refusing to drink, if she doesn't seem to be her usual self, please, take your dog to the vet. Those are signs, as I have read online after my dog's passing... You may be able to prolong her life span, but other than that, prepare yourself for the worst. Even if there is nothing the vets can do to help, and you'll just be wasting money on them, at the very least, you can prepare yourself for your best friend and great family member's passing, and help them pass in peace.

My father assumed home remedies found online for dogs would help our dog feel better, not at all willing to spend money on vets for this urgent checkup and possibly avoid this from happening. It was expensive enough for a normal checkup, but this? Regardless, if we ever have another pet, be it a dog or cat, I hope he actually listens to us, us being me and my mom, when we say anything about taking our pet to the vet. Even if said pet isn't willing to get in the car.

... Thinking about that now, my father isn't the only one to be blamed then... Our dog lately, before showing these sort of signs, didn't want to leave the house anyway, even if it is to go on her favorite walks to parks. Or... maybe that was the first sign that something was wrong with her...

It makes me wonder now... Dogs have keen sense for things, compared to humans. I wonder if my dog foretold her own passing some time back... I miss her...

To you first-time pet owners out there, please, do not disregard this message. If you truly love your pet, take this to the heart, and prepare yourself should your pet show the signs above, especially if vomiting and diarrhea occurs...

Call it sappy or cheesy or even overdoing things, but later on, I will have up on my profile a short story of sort to remember my dog. She lived a happy life, and passed on quite young for her breed. To me, she deserved that, and so much more to be remembered. After all, there isn't going to be another pet like your first.

Sorry for the... sappy, sad, personal news. For you readers' sake, let's just start this chapter.

Last time, after receiving a message from Serena on a possible meeting, Qing agreed upon the meet and went alone to speak with the Fusion Duelist. However, once she arrived, not only did Serena assume her to be her long-lost best friend, Barrett interrupted the meeting and paralyzed Qing. In retaliation, Azuma, who had followed Qing to the meeting spot, dueled Barrett. As they dueled, it was reveled to the Fusion duelists that Azuma was one of the Xyz Remnants they were searching for. Following Barrett's defeat, Qing revealed to Serena that she was not the friend she had hoped her to be.

Now, after the revelation, Serena just stared at Qing in shock. "What... did you say?" she asked.

Qing couldn't look at her in the eyes at the question. How could she, now that Serena knew she wasn't Viola?

"My name is Qing. I'm not from the Fusion Dimension like you," she tried to say again.

"No... You're lying. If this is suppose to be a joke, it's not funny, Viola!" Serena exclaimed.

"That's because this isn't a joke! I know I look like her, but I'm telling you the truth! I'm not-!"

"Viola! Please, stop it with this joke!"

"She's not joking," Azuma spoke, getting Serena's attention. "She may look like her, but Qing is her own person. I know, because you're not the only one who mistook her for someone you lost."

"'Not the only...' huh?"

"And likewise, she is not the only one in this world who has the same face as your friend's," Reiji added. "There are two others here who look so much like you and Azuma. But, let's set aside the why for the similarities."

"And you are?" Serena asked.

"Akaba Reiji. Son of Akaba Leo," he introduced himself. "Do you not remember? We've met once before. At the Fusion Dimension's Academia."

Both Qing and Azuma looked at him in shock at this revelation. Reiji met Serena once before? And in the Fusion Dimension?!

"You were the duelist Akaba Leo had his eye on the most there," he continued. "And now you are here in our world. For what purpose? Did you improve your skills under Akaba Leo's guidance and get sent here as the vanguard for an invasion?"

"This has nothing to do with Akaba Leo! I came to this world of my own free will! Not under anyone's orders," Serena retorted. "I remember you, too. Three years ago, you crossed dimensions and came to our world. As I saw many of my comrades getting their chance on the front lines, Viola included, I was left to live a suffocating life trapped in that strict castle. Ever since you appeared three years ago!"

"These last three years, I have been making preparations to crush Akaba Leo's ambitions. That is also why I have become the President of Leo Corporation in his place. I have worked towards finding and training Duelists with potential. All of it is to protect this city, this land we live in. Do you not wish to join me?"

"Join you?" Serena repeated in a questioned tone.

"Yes. To protect this place together with Akaba Leo and Academia-"

"Don't be ridiculous. I only came here because I heard there were remnants of the Xyz forces here. They must be quite skilled if they could defeat an agent from Academia, like she did." Serena activated her Duel Disk. "If I can defeat you, I can make Akaba Leo acknowledge my abilities! At least, that's what I planned."

"What do you mean?" Qing asked.

"The only reason why I want Akaba Leo to acknowledge my abilities, to make me a part of his force, is to find Viola. After she was selected for her first mission in the Xyz Dimension, she completely vanished. Many people and the records say she died during the mission. But I refuse to believe that! Somewhere out there, Viola is still alive. I have to find and save her. And I'll do that, but getting the information out of you!"

Qing quickly got between her and Azuma. "Wait! You don't have to duel her!"

"Get out of the way! Even if you do have Viola's face, if you stand in my way-!"

"I can give you information!" Serena stood there with an interested look on her face at those words. "I... I don't know if it's because we have the same face, but I get visions from time to time. Visions of Viola. If you agree to join us, I'll share any information I get about her as soon as I see them."

Serena simply stared at her wide-eyed. This girl, this person who looked so much like her missing childhood friend, has information on Viola?

Before Serena can give her answer, a beep was heard. The group turned to the source and saw Barrett had regained conscious, his Duel Disk flashing a red light. "With this, Academia knows where we are," he said, as he then disappeared from their sight.

"Forced return, huh?" Serena said.

"Forced return?" Azuma questioned.

"Eventually, pursuers from Academia will come to bring me back. Just like you saw three years ago." She looked directly to Reiji as she said that last part, with the guy knowing full well what she meant. "When that happens, it will cause more than just a disturbance. But I won't let them catch me."

"Then join us!" Qing insisted. "I won't say we will keep you safe, but we will fight with you against them."

Unfortunately, as nice of an idea as that was, one individual amongst them was not happy with the suggestion. "Huh?! Hang on a second! Why should we fight with a Fusion Duelist?!" Azuma questioned.

"Why? Because we practically have the same goal! Or at least they're somehow aligned with one another."

"No way! Teaming up with a Fusion Duelist is the last thing I'll ever do! Not after what they did to my home!"

"Even though she has Ruri's face?"

At Qing's question, Azuma kept silent, as she then glared at Serena. As the multi-deck duelist pointed out, Selena's face looked exactly like Ruri. However, after knowing Qing for a while, she who looked so much like her sister, Azuma knew that just because Selena looked like Ruri didn't mean she was anything like her missing friend. Besides, if Shun knew there was a Fusion Duelist who looked like Ruri, how was he going to react? Bad enough there was already one girl who looked like her do Fusion Summon, but another girl? And this one straight from the enemy dimension as well. There was no way she was going to take her chance there.

Without another word, the Xyz Duelist left the area.

"Azuma!" Qing called out, only to be ignored by the girl.

Later that day, rather than meeting up with her friends back at You Show Duel School, Qing was in a grocery store, with Serena by her side. After the what happened back in basement parking lot, it was decided by Reiji that Qing should look after her, and making sure no one knows about Serena, especially not her friends. As much as she felt that the guy practically dumped the responsibility on her shoulder without her consent, which really was what it looked like, Qing knew that she was the only person Serena trust in the dimension. Thankfully, Serena agreed to the arrangement, most likely to get information on Viola.

"So, Serena. What do you want for dinner tonight?" Qing asked.

Though she didn't see much from Viola's memories, of what she could tell and what was said back in the parking lot, Serena was stuck on the island for a really long while. And from what she knew of Academia from the GX anime, judging by the Fusionist's red blazer, it would be possible that Selena was stuck in Osiris Red, despite her skill. Aware that the red rank is the lowest of the three ranks in the anime, Qing thought it would be nice to serve Serena something home cooked, with her favorite food.

Rather than answering the question, though, Serena asked, "Why?"

Qing turned to her in slight confusion. "So I would know what to make for tonight?" she answered.

"Couldn't you just buy a sandwich? And I saw some restaurants on the way here. We could've just eat there."

"Well, true. But it's nice to have a home cooked meal every so often. Or do you mean to tell me that they give you the same meal everyday in Academia?"

"Not true. Every so often they provide different meal for us at Academia."

Qing sweat dropped at those words, for despite what Serena said, it was basically the same as saying they ate practically the same meal daily there. "... Chef's choice, then. Gotcha."

Once they bought groceries, Qing led Serena straight to her apartment and got started on dinner, while her guest sat in the living room, observing her new surroundings. From what she could see, there was nothing much in the apartment. Well, aside from the necessities, there was nothing in the apartment that personally belonged to her. Not a photo or even a book.

After she observed the living room, Serena's mind wandered back to Qing. No matter how much she looked at her, the 'Moonlight' Duelist was convinced that she was Viola. The girl looked exactly like her, aside from the hair and eye color. Her kindness was also quite similar, for her to risk herself to stop Azuma from carding Barrett. It reminded Serena of how she first met Viola.

It was a few years before Serena first met Reiji. The bluenette met the young, purple-headed girl getting picked on by a few kids a little older than them. Seeing this enraged Serena, as she went and scared the bullies away. Grateful as Viola was for the save back there, Serena couldn't believe the girl had practically let the boys pick on her like she did... just to protect her cards. Although she understood a Duelist's deck is everything to them, the way Viola handled them was quite different from everyone else's, in a way where she treated the cards as though they were alive. Serena thought she was being ridiculous at first, but in the many duels she saw Viola took part in, she noticed the monsters had truly responded to her. At first, she assumed her eyes were playing tricks with her, but Serena knew she truly saw Viola's monsters respond to her calls.

Thinking back to their childhood, the girl took out her deck- Viola's deck- and stared at it. The day she was told about her friend's passing, Serena didn't want to believe it, and rushed to her room to see the girl. Once she arrived, however, she saw people taking away all of Viola's personal belongings. Serena remembered shouting at them to put it all back, to return all of Viola's stuff and stop lying about her wellbeing, only for Leo to arrive and confirm the rumors. Thankfully, they managed to find her deck and, out of whatever kindness was in his heart, Leo decided to pass the deck onto Serena, so she could remember her.

Despite the act, though, despite what everyone said, Serena didn't believe Viola was truly dead. She knew Viola's 'Moonlights' were the only 'Moonlights' in existence. And so, she swapped her original deck with her friend's for only one goal: to find Viola and the person who caused her disappearance. And if Qing was telling the truth about being able to see Viola's past, that makes things a whole lot more easier for her.

"Dinner's ready!" the multi-deck user in question called.

Serena walked into the kitchen and saw plates of what seemed like rice with some brown sauce on top of it. Qing approached the table with two glasses of water.

"Hope you're good with curry. If not, I can make something else," she said.

"It's fine," Serena answered, taking a seat across from her.

As they ate dinner, Serena couldn't help but glance at Qing every so often. This time, it wasn't just because of the similarities between her and Viola. Qing had promised information concerning her missing friend, should she join Reiji's cause, in which she practically did. If it was anyone else assigned to be her guard, Serena would've found a chance to separate from that person in the blink of an eye. Instead, with Qing, she stayed by her side. the multi-deck duelist didn't even pay any heed to whether or not Serena was still with her; she just kept her attention on what was in front of her.

"If you want to say something, just say it," Qing said at last, catching Serena off guard. "I know you're staring at me. You want to know what I know about Viola, don't you?"

"Yeah, I do," Serena answered. "Tell me where she is! The faster I know where she is, the quicker I can-"

"I don't know." The Fusion User was shocked at that answer.

"You... don't know?! Hang on! I thought you said you have information about Viola!"

"It's not that easy. I don't know myself how the thing works, but every so often, I'd get these weird dizzy spells. It's only from those spells that I can get information about other versions of me."

As much as Serena wanted to possibly hurt her for lying, what she said caught her off guard. "'Versions'?"

"Like how there's a version of you living here in this dimension, and a version of me in the Fusion Dimension, there are two others with our faces. Same with a pair of other friends of mine. And all four versions of us come from different dimensions. I don't know about my friends, but as far as I know, I'm the only one who has these visions, memories of my other three counterparts. And I have no control over whose memory I see. It just comes and goes whenever and whoever."

As much as Serena didn't want to believe her, as much as she wanted to demand where Viola was, she could tell from Qing's eyes that she was speaking the truth. "... Fine... But at least tell me what you do know. Everything of what you know."

And tell her she did; Qing told Serena about what she saw in her last vision. How Viola and Serena had a duel with the former's win, the last time they saw each other as Viola was taken away to the invasion/Union Mission, even what was said quote by quote. What she didn't tell her, however, was what happened to Viola some time after. It was painful enough for her to know and realize that she wasn't her childhood friend. If Serena knew what she was told about her were true, she may not be able to handle it.

"That's really all?" Serena asked.

"Yeah. I don't know what happened to Viola after she left with that Obeilsk Force duelist, but I promise you, I will let you know once I get something," Qing swore.

Serena could only nod, as she continued to eat her curry, slightly in peace. The two events Qing spoke of, she detailed it all down exactly as she remembered it. Serena could never win against Viola, no matter how many times they dueled and how much she had improved. And after those duels, Viola always made her feel better by stating how close she came to beating her.

After dinner was over, Qing was washing the dishes, while Serena took a nice shower in the bathroom. As Qing washed, her D-Pad was ringing. She looked and saw it was a phone call from Yuzu. She tapped on her pad to answer it and placed it on speaker.

"Hey, Yuzu. What's up?" Qing asked.

"Hi, Qing. Did you see the news? They announced the thirty-two duelists for tomorrow," Yuzu informed.

"No, I unfortunately haven't."

"Huh?! How could you not?! You should at least be wary of who you'll be dueling tomorrow! What if you go against Kurosaki?!"

"True as it may be, I don't find it enjoyable to know my opponent's moves on the day of the duel," Qing reasoned.

"You make it sound like Kurosaki won't go too far against you like he did to Sora and his opponent from Knight of Duels," Yuzu said.

Qing looked to the side when she said that. 'If only you knew,' she thought, thinking back to when she met Shun the first time. She was quite aware of how... insanely strong he was, to put it in lighter terms.

"In any case, I hope we see you tomorrow. Everyone's getting worried about you. Especially with how distant you've been lately with us. Bella said to not worry about it, but in all honesty, I think we have every right to worry here," Yuzu then said.

Qing flinched slightly at those words, glad that they weren't speaking via video chat. "It's just... there's a lot of things happening in the tournament. And... I've been meeting with Reiji..."

"Meeting Reiji? For what? At a time like this."

She now mentally cursed herself for saying such a lie, knowing that she had to come up with a really good reason to ever meet with one of the few people who know of her secret. "Yes... It concerns with... Reira! His little brother!"

"Reira? Oh! That little boy who defeated Ayu and Futoshi. I see. He is quite attached to you," Yuzu said in understanding.

"Yeah. He kind of asked me to watch over him whenever I can recently, especially considering how much he likes me, and I agreed."

"Hmm... I guess that makes sense." Qing inaudibly sighed in relief at how passable the lie was. "Well, if that's the case, I guess it can't be helped. But we will see you tomorrow, right?"

"Yeah. Definitely," Qing promised. "Before the tournament start, I swear I'll meet you guys at the stadium."

"Okay. We're going to hold you up on that promise. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow." With that, Qing hung up and placed the last clean plate on the rack.

"Who was that?" came Serena's voice behind her.

"That was- OH MY GOD!" Qing took a step back in shock, back to the sink, as she had turned and saw Serena standing in the kitchen... without even a towel to cover her up, as she casually dries her hair. "What are you doing?!"

Serena looks at her in confusion. "I'm drying my hair?" she answered in confusion.

"I-I can see that! J-Just- you-...! Cover yourself up! Cover yourself up right now, young lady!" Qing sent another towel flying in Serena's direction as she turned away. "Get dressed for goodness sake! Have you no shame?!"

"What? What's the problem?" Serena asked. And judging by her tone, she really saw nothing wrong in walking around nude.

"Just do me a favor and get dressed! You cannot walk around like that!" she scolded, still averting her eyes from her guest.

"All right, fine." At that response, Serena returned to the bathroom to dress herself in her Academia uniform.

As she left, Qing placed a hand on her face. 'If one of us were a different gender, that would've been even more awkward. Well, for me at least since she didn't seem bothered by it. Do they not teach health class in Academia?! No, even so, has she no decency?!'

After the eventful scene, it was time for the pair to retire for the day. Qing had offered Serena to sleep on her bed while she took the couch, in which the Fusion Duelist had accepted.

As she slept through the night, she kept tossing and turning, having one of the strangest of dreams yet.

*DREAMSCAPE*

She saw herself standing in the middle of a blazing destruction. Buildings were getting destroyed, people were getting turned to cards, and gigantic, robotic monsters were destroying more of the city.

'The Xyz Dimension, again,' Qing thought, now fully aware of where she was.

"Noir-nee! There you are!" she heard. Qing turned and saw a familiar girl with pink eyes and dark blue hair and light blue bangs approaching her.

'Kamishiro Rio?!' Qing mentally gasped in shock. She couldn't believe she was meeting a character from one of the preceded Yugioh anime. She had a small feeling and a small hope that she would, but she didn't think she would actually ever meet one.

"Come on! Let's get out of here, before they catch up!" Rio urged. As she went to grab Noir by the hand and take her to where their allies were, Noir lifted up her disk-equipped arm, to Rio and Qing's shock. "What are you doing?! This is no time-!" Rio stopped herself when she heard beeping from her duel disk and pressed a button on it.

"Rio! Where are you?!" came a certain voice on the other side. "Hurry up back to the shelter now! Everyone is getting worried about you here!"

Before Rio could answer, another voice was heard on the other side. "Shark. I'm sure Rio will come back. She's a big girl, and knows better than to go after the enemy or be seen by them."

"Don't tell me how to worry about my sister, Noir!"

When he said that, Rio flinched in shock as she turned to the Noir with her.

The scene changed for Qing, as she saw Rio getting blown back and got slammed into a wall behind her, collapsing back down in defeat. Rio weakly looked up at her, fear in her eyes.

"Who... Who are you...?" she managed to ask.

Qing felt a smile form on her face, as she brought her duel disk up and her free hand to it. "I think you know, prey." As she said that, a flash of purple light then occurred, and Rio was turned into a card.

While Qing was confused and quite worried with what happened, the body she was occupying in let out a laugh. "Wow! To think, that prediction actually came true, step by step! If that prey struggled this much to fight fate, I do wonder what of my other preys. Especially... them. Nothing can ever save anyone from me."

It didn't take Qing much longer to realize exactly whose body she was occupying, as the scene faded away.

*REALITY*

Qing's eyes snapped open, as she found herself back in her apartment on the couch. She slowly got up and processed through the dream she had. No, the memory she saw.

'That girl I was in... It has to be her,' she thought. 'But... how will Serena react if she knows of this vision?' Qing looked into her room as she thought that, seeing the Fusion duelist still asleep in bed. She knew for sure Serena would be relieved to know Viola was alive, but what would happen if she knew of the personality change the girl had? After all, the Viola in that dream was completely different from the Viola in the previous dream. Not only that...

'If Kamishiro Rio exists in the Xyz Dimension, and her brother as well... Does that mean I'll get to meet my favorite characters from other seasons as well?!' Qing then thought in shock.

Aside from GX, which the timeline took place some years after the very first Yugioh series, no characters from the preceded seasons were used in the following seasons. Well, maybe Trudge from 5D's and the Bonds Beyond Time movie, but still. She never thought she'd really get the chance to possibly meet the preceding seasons' characters in this universe.

'S-Should I prepare a pen and paper then, in case I ever meet them? But wait, what are the chances that any of the Xyz stars are also here? More so, what's the possibility of me ever going into any of the other dimensions? Then again, there's that duelist who took my Xyz and Synchro counterparts. But wait, that's a bad thing! Who knows what they'll do to me if they take me to Academia?! I don't want to think about it! I much rather not think of it at all, now!'

Shaking her head, Qing turned to a clock on the shelf near her and saw it was a little past nine. 'I should get started on breakfast,' she then decided, as she got up and prepared herself for today.

After breakfast, Qing had left to the stadium to meet up with her friends. Before she left, she made a portion of breakfast for Serena to have when she wakes, as well as a bento for her to take, should she decide to leave.

Upon arriving at the place, Qing was greeted by the You Show duelists, especially the kids.

"Qing-neechan!" the trio cried out, tackling her down with hugs.

"Oof! Hey, guys. Sorry I haven't been around lately," she apologized.

"That's an understatement," Seth stated, as he and the others approached them. "Looks like you're free on the babysitting business, then."

"I see Yuzu told you. But yeah. After all, there's no telling what will happen in today's round of dueling. Need to have my focus on the duel today."

"Spoken like a true duelist," Gongenzaka nodded in agreement.

"All right, kids! Today's round three of the Junior Youth Tournament and the final round for the Junior Tournament! Go out there and get all hot-blooded!" Shuzo shouted in encouragement.

"Right!" the You Show group all cheered, as the teens made their way in.

Once they arrived, the teens were met with cheers, as they stood in the center of the field where the rest of their fellow thirty-two participants were. As they walked, they noticed two certain duelists weren't among the group.

"Kurosaki didn't come, did he?" Yuzu questioned.

"Neither is Azuma," Bella added.

"Where did they go?" Yuya asked.

"Everyone, thank you for waiting!" Nico cheerily called. "Right now, a Battle Royale between these thirty-two Junior Youth competitors will take place!"

That got majority of the crowd silent, as everyone looked at him in shock and confusion at those words.

"Did he say... Battle Royale?" Qing asked.

"He certainly did," Seth confirmed.

"Now then, let's explain the rules!" Nico continued. "The match will begin promptly at noon! At that time, Action Cards will spread out! And here is the important part: there are Pendulum Cards from Leo Corporation hidden in the city!"

"What?!" Yuya gasped.

"The competitors must find at least two of them and then Duel!"

"Everyone has to get Pendulum Cards?" Yuzu said, realizing it meant everyone can Pendulum Summon.

"The matches will be held under the Ante Rule with the Pendulum Cards included! The winner then takes the amount of Pendulum Cards bet by the loser and acquire them as their own! The time limit is twenty-four hours! Also, the city will be split into four areas based on the fields in the Field Magic: Wonder Quartet! Competitors are free to battle in any of these four areas! The starting time is almost upon us! All entrants, please prepare your Duel Disks!" And that they did, as their D-Pads went into Dueling, Battle Royale Mode. "Gate open!" A section of the stadium in front of the group then rose up, as the duelists prepared to sprint out of the place. "Now then, let's get started! Duelists locked in battle! Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through the field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling! ACTION!"

"DUEL!" the duelists shouted in unison.

With a snap of his fingers, a buzzer signaled the start, Action Cards had spread out all around the field, and the duelists took off out into the city.
