The next morning, Jamilah was at her locker taking out her books for the next class when her brown eyes absentmindedly flickered up and glanced at Anxelin beside her.
Jamilah smiled warmly at the goth. "Hey, Anxelin!"
"Huh?" Anxelin heard her name being called as she looked over her locker door and saw the long-haired girl.
"Hey, Princess," Anxelin smirked as she slammed the locker shut with a loud bang, and swung the the bag strap over her shoulder before turning to Jamilah. "What's up?"
Jamilah flushed slightly at Anxelin calling her a 'princess'. Although it was true that Jamilah was a princess knowing Anxelin, she was a tad bit flirtatious, at least in her tone.
"Oh nothing," Jamilah replied. "How are you? How are you holding up after what had happened to you?"
As soon as Anxelin heard that question, her smile slowly faded and Jamilah noticed.
"I'm so sorry I-"
Anxelin shook her head. "It's cool. I'm holding on and I'm still going to therapy and taking my meds, even though I hate taking those," she rolled her hazel eyes. " I'm thankful that I wasn't a bundle of nerves like I was a few months back, and I'm glad that bastard teacher is on the Isle where he deserves."
The Agrabah princess nodded in understanding.
For those who were unaware, Anxelin was the main victim of Sexual Assault by her Physics teacher, Mr. Meyers, who assaulted her when she was in the 9th grade and continued to psychologically, mentally, and physically tortured her in the 10th grade until Li'l Shang and the others found out and save her (as well as the other girls in Anxelin's class at the time) from the teacher getting into Anxelin's pants. Literally.
If that wasn't scary, then I don't know what was.
After listening to Anxelin's explanation, Jamilah said, "I'm so sorry, Anxelin. You don't deserve this. I hope you fully recover from this."
Anxelin sighed before a tiny smile graced her lips. "Yeah, me too, but I'm happy that I'm surrounded by people who love and care for me. Right?"
"Right."
"Anyways," Anxelin began. "I gotta go, so see you later, Princess," Anxelin winked at Jamilah and left.
Jamilah waved as she watched Anxelin walk off before she sighed. Poor Anxelin…
As soon as Anxelin left, Jay came over as he saw Anxelin walk past him and glanced at her before focusing his attention on Jamilah.
"Who's that dude?" Jay asked as he pointed his thumb over his shoulder when he stood in front of Jamilah. "I've never seen him around before."
Jamilah covered her mouth and chuckled softly, causing Jay to frown.
"What?"
"That's not a guy, Jay," Jamilah said, still chuckling. "That's a girl."
Jay stared at Jamilah with wide eyes as his mouth formed an 'Oh.'
"Wow, she completely looked like a guy. Like really, she looked like a genuine dude."
"Yeah, the girl, that's Anxelin, Uncle Eugene, and Aunt Rapunzel's daughter. She's a tomboy and she has reasons to dress like that."
"Such as…?"
Jamilah hummed then bit her lip as she twirled slightly with her hands behind her. "Hmm, let's just say her closest friends including me know about."
Jay pouted. "Aw. Can you tell me? I'm kinda close to you, right?"
Jamilah scrunched her nose. As much as she liked Jay, she was not going to tell him what Anxelin had been through. She just had known him for a few days after Ben's coronation and she was still learning about his mysterious character.
"Nah," the girl shook her head. "Anxelin doesn't want her story to be shared with the public. She's very private and doesn't like too much sympathy. It'd make her look weak."
Jay's burly shoulders slumped but he nodded in understanding. "Fair enough."
"Yeah, she just wants things to be left alone," Jamilah told the older guy as she gently closed her locker door and turned to him.
There was silence between the two for a moment until Jay spoke once he saw a cute tiger charm on Jamilah's bag.
"Nice tiger charm you have there," Jay complimented with a smirk on his handsome face.
"Huh?" Jamilah whipped her head around and saw her tiger charm dangling on the zip of the smaller compartment of her bag.
"Oh, you mean this little guy?" Jamilah chuckled slightly. "Thanks. I made it myself and of course, I love tigers."
Jay's eyes lit up. "Really? I love tigers too! They're like my favorite animals."
The Agrabah princess raised her eyebrows as she and Jay began to walk. "Really? That's something I didn't expect from you, to be honest. I thought you liked cobras since your dad is Jafar."
Jay turned his head and gave Jamilah a look. "Oh, you'd think just because I'm from the Isle and I'm like my dad? I'm hurt."
Jamilah paused and stared at Jay for a moment and realized what she had just said to him. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't know. Besides, we as the Auradon kids were brainwashed from an early that you kids were just like your parents."
"But you saw what happened on coronation day, right?"
"Yeah."
"Well, it's not your fault that you had to think that way," Jay said softly. "Now that I think about it, we were completely brainwashed too!"
"Really? What's it like on the Isle?" Jamilah asked, curious.
Jay took an inward breath before answering. If he was honest, like Anxelin, he wouldn't like to share his story but since he was fond of Jamilah, he felt comfortable telling her. "Well, let me put in a summary, I was raised as a street rat, like Aladdin, pretty much working for my dad. Even when I found something remotely good, it's not good enough in his eyes."
Jamilah's heart broke in an instant while listening to Jay's backstory. Though, she can't help but find a similarity between her father and Jay.
"And one time, I found some let's say some 'good' junk, showed it to Dad and he was eating an egg and never gave me any."
Jamilah gasped. "Why?"
Jay shrugged. "They don't share with their kids."
"Oh," Jamilah lowered her eyes. She had an idea of how bad was the Isle but she had no idea that it was this bad.
"How'd you feel about Jafar not giving you any food?"
"I…felt a little awkward but I came over it as I'm used to it," Jay replied.
Jamilah hummed and pursed her lips, but didn't say anything as she and Jay continued to walk at a normal pace.
"Y'know," Jay began, causing Jamilah to turn her head and fix her brown eyes on him. "We've been talking different things that we forgot what class we're going to. Hehe."
"Oh!" Jamilah slapped her forehead and shook her head. She'd almost forgotten about which class they were heading to. "Well, we're having Safety Rules for the Internet class in the first period."
Jay arched a brow. "Safety Rules for the Internet? What kind of class is that?"
"As the name suggests, it provides students on how to use the internet safely and wisely," the young Agrabah princess explained. "Trust me, there's more wacky classes."
Jay only huffed as he adjusted his bag strap on his shoulder. "Huh. If you've been on the Isle, you'd hear let's say some interesting' classes."
"Oh yeah? Tell me more!"
Jay fill the details to Jamilah about the names of the classes he'd been to in Dragon Hall and the two shared a laugh as they headed towards their first class of the day.
…..
After Tourney practice…
"Hey, Jay!" Aziz called out.
Jay looked up from his bag and saw Aziz running towards him and stopped in front of him, catching his breath.
Once as Aziz collected himself, he gave Jay a proud smile. "Nice practice out there, dude. I'm pleasantly surprised," he complimented as he planted his hands on his hips and breathed softly.
Jay returned the gesture. "Thanks, man."
"Coach Jenkins wasn't kidding when he said that you have raw talent."
Jay smiled as he gathered his things and stuffed them into his bag. It was nice that he was getting compliments at school, especially from a popular prince.
"Yeah," Jay nodded. "Let's just say that I was born with it."
"Though," Aziz started with his thick eyebrow raised. "How do you run so fast and do moves like that? The only person I can see doing this kind of stuff was my dad."
Jay only huffed. "Lemme tell you a secret, I was raised as a street rat and I tend to run away with junk that I found from other places. So that's why I was quick on my feet and built muscle despite eating garbage."
"Wow," Aziz's brown eyes widened in astonishment at Jay's explanation. Funny enough, Jay reminds Aziz of his dad, Aladdin.
"Y'know, as you said that, you remind me of my dad, Aladdin as he was a former street rat, trying to find something to eat after my grandmother died in childbirth and my granddad left him when he was young."
"Interestingly, your sister said almost the same thing," Jay told the young prince.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yup!"
"Well I guess we share great minds then," Aziz smiled. "Say, are you busy after this?"
Jay frowned slightly at Aziz before he shook his head. "No, not really. Why?"
"I was wondering if you could join me and my friends for some pizza at Tony's," Aziz offered. "Don't worry, I'll be paying."
Jay's dark eyes lit up as Aziz mentioned 'pizza' as it was his favorite.
"I'm always down for pizza, dude, especially after a good Tourney practice," Jay laughed lightly. Now that he thought about it, he's craving some pizza right now.
"Great!" Aziz beamed as he pulled out his phone from his bag pocket. "How many boxes do you want?"
Jay stared at him in shock. "Are you for real?"
"Yup," Aziz nodded. "So, how many boxes? One, two…"
"Gimme two!"
"Alrighty, coming right up!" Aziz said as he made his orders online on the Tony's Pizza app.
Jay just stared at Aziz, stunned. He thought that Aziz would have some resentment towards him after him being Jafar's son and Aziz being Aladdin's, but he thought wrong, like Jamilah, Aziz was incredibly kind and showed no sign of being judgmental towards him. And Jay liked that and he thought of keeping the Agrabah siblings as his friends.
…..
Later that evening…
The 3 Agrabah siblings gathered in Aziz's dorm to discuss the things they found about Jay.
"Jay told me that the reason he was agile on his feet was because he was a street rat, like Dad," Aziz said as he ran his hand through his extra soft and silky hair.
"Same," Jamilah spoke. "He told me this morning that after he found some junk that was worthy of selling, his dad ate an egg and never gave him any."
Emir and Aziz made a face. "That's rough." They chorused.
"Yeah, also he told me that tigers are his favorite animals…"
Emir huffed. "That's odd for someone like Jay to like a tiger, especially seeing him with lots of cobra insignia etched on his clothes."
Aziz tapped his chin. "True."
And Jamilah shrugged. "I mean, he did say he's not bound to his dad and I don't see an issue with him liking tigers."
Aziz hummed softly as he turned to his younger brother. "How bout you, Emir? Did you find anything?"
Emir sighed. "Nope, I hardly see him, but when I do see him, he kinda gives off a charismatic charm, like Dad, and is a big flirt. That's all I could find for now."
Aziz flipped his hand in an attempt to reassure his brother.
"Eh, that's fine. As long as we find something about Jay, right?"
"Right," Jamilah and Emir chorused.
"Though, is it just me, or is Jay and Dad share similar personalities?" Jamilah asked, her brown eyes darted between her brothers.
"Yeah…" Emir's voice trailed off as he tapped his chin. "They do and now that I think about it, what if Jay was our brother? Call me crazy but still."
"I don't think you're crazy, but I think it's kinda far fetched," Aziz said. Although deep down, Aziz had the same conclusion as Emir, but he didn't want to jump the gun as yet.
"Well, I do have the same thing as Emir here," Jamilah said as she gestured her hand and crossed her right leg over the right one. "But I had doubts about it."
Aziz smothered a sigh as he bit his lip. This was going to be hard but they can't give up; they had find their missing brother so they he could be reunited with his family, especially his mother Jasmine as she was getting depressed on each passing day.
With that said, the Agrabah siblings continued to discuss their theories for a little while until Jamilah and Emir told their older brother goodnight and went to their respective dorms.
