Chapter 17
Shadow stared down at the newly deceased weavile Aberration, wiping his hands clean with a handkerchief. "So uncivilized." He finished wiping his hands clean and pulled his phone out. After quickly dialing a number he held it up to his head. "Officer Igni? Yes, I am calling to inform you that the recent threat has been dealt with, there are two deceased Aberrations in the western alleyway beside Panchu Hospital, two more contained in one of my father's facilities along with a third dead Aberration." Shadow looked himself over, he was covered in blood and had now way to clean it, or at least his suit jacket. "Of course I will give a statement."
He hung up his phone, slipping it into his pocket as he slipped the jacket off. The shirt he had on underneath was surprisingly clean, and so he walked inside the hospital.
*The Next Day*
"Ugh, what happened to me?" Blade sat up, noticing a blood bag connected to his arm.
"An Aberration, they were trying to drink your blood. Like a vampire." Shadow spoke, in a surprisingly light hearted way, as if trying to make a joke for the sneasel.
"You know if you keep up ending up in here they're gonna start charging rent right?" That was a voice Blade hadn't expected to hear.
"Anelace?" The sneasel looked to his sister.
"Don't get used to this pleasantness. I just came to say sorry for not believing you. Ya know, when you told us what dad did." She stepped up to his bed. "I guess I just really wanted to believe he'd never stoop that low. But after what happened with Bardiche… I'm sorry."
"It's fine Anelace, have you checked on Gladius?"
"Yeah, I did, maybe if I'd been faster, I could've…" she looked away touching her left eye.
Blade sat up. "Ann." He held his arms out. And she approached hugging him. The two sneasel stayed quiet, simply hugging each other. Blade broke the silence. "You saved him ya know. That's how he sees it at least. Nobody else was there for him. Only you."
Anelace felt something in the back of her head and pushed him away. Something was wrong. Those two words filled her with such rage and bloodlust. She shook her head to clear it. "Thanks Blade, I gotta go."
"Where?"
"Got a deal thanks to mister Nightshade, I help take down dad and all charges are dropped." Anelace spoke again.
"When you say take down, do they require him alive?" Shadow asked.
"They'd prefer that, but they know he won't go quietly."
"If you find him, do not hesitate to call me. I would like to show him the hell on earth I promised so long ago."
"I'll give you a call." She smiled genuinely at both Shadow and Blade. "I was jealous before, but honestly, I'm glad you're looking after my brother, arceus knows we should have." She turned away walking out of the room.
*Elsewhere*
Mare paced back and forth in his study. Shadow had gotten out of hand, he couldn't be controlled, it was only a matter of time now.
"Fuck!" He flipped a recliner out of irritation.
"Sir?" The genesect, Shockwave, had just entered the room. "Is something the matter?"
"Of course! That bastard's boy is out of control! He was much more obedient before that damn poverty stricken sneasel came along."
"Are we referring to his bastard father, sir?" The mechanical pokemon absent minded tapped away at a handheld screen.
"Yes, he was a thorn in my side, and now his damned son is too. I grow tired of it."
"Have you considered telling him the truth? Considering he did not seem to care about your origin, perhaps that will not change anything."
"No, it would change everything. If he knew who I truly am. It is a single certainty, that he would kill me without hesitation." Mare stared into a mirror in his study. "Mare you bastard! Creating such a grand and powerful heir, but he can't be controlled." The violet darkrai twitched and fidgeted. "If I am to control Shadow again, that sneasel and his family need to be out of the picture. Is Anelace ready?"
"Yes sir, at even two simple words her conditioning is able to take effect." Shockwave sounded rather proud.
"Well done Shockwave. I'll be rid of those impoverished peasants soon enough." He glanced at his own back, seemingly in pain. "It's back."
Shockwave turned and shut the doors to the study. "Then let us remove it again."
The violet darkrai sighed as he pulled his suit jacket and shirt off revealing upon his back, a strange burn mark, in the shape of a spider. "Just remove the damned thing already!"
"As you wish," Shockwave stepped closer, his claws extending as they dug into the violet flesh, cutting the burn mark away. "Naraku."
