Chapter 14 – Megan and Sammy in: How I Met my Best Friend

It was March 1st in Destiny Town and it was a calm and peaceful day, no quarrels, no stress and no worries, the Pokémon of Destiny Town were just lounging about lazily enjoying the cool air and what are our heroes up to at the moment?

Tommy, Megan and Sammy were sitting on the sofa taking a little nap, Megan had her head on Tommy's Shoulder and Sammy had hers on Megan's, It wasn't often Team Ace got to take little naps during the day time but this was one of those days where they could just be lazy and not have to worry about a thing and it was now 3:00 in the afternoon.

Tommy slowly opened his eyes and squinted slightly, he looked beside him and spotted Megan who had her head on his shoulder and she was smiling in her sleep.

He poked her as he whispered "Psst wake up it's the afternoon"

She opened her eyes slightly and looked up and was greeted with Tommy's beaming face causing her to blush as she realized she had her head on Tommy's shoulder but that wasn't all, she could feel someone else's head on her shoulder and looked around and noticed it was Sammy causing her blush to deepen and she shook Sammy awake causing Sammy to scream in fright and fall off the edge of the sofa making Tommy and Megan to laugh as she got up and revealed her face, she did not look the least bit amused.

"Hey, what was that for, I was having the most wonderful dream" Sammy sighed dreamily as her anger disappeared quite quickly.

Tommy laughed as the Chespin got back on the sofa and sat next to Megan as he exclaimed "It's the Afternoon sleepy head, it's time to get up besides there's been something on my mind recently"

Megan raised an eyebrow "Oh Yeah? and what might that be?"

"Well when I first met you guys you were already best friends and I've been wondering for quite some time now how did you two meet and how did you become friends" Tommy asked his two friends curiously.

Both Megan and Sammy gasped in surprise at what Tommy had just asked them.

"Um Really, you want to know how we met and how we became friends, wow no ones ever bothered to ask us that" Megan said as she looked at him giving him a look of disbelief.

"I was just being curious, If you don't want to tell me then that's fine too" Tommy beamed at the fox Pokémon.

"No it's fine I'll tell you, is that fine with you Sammy?" Megan replied as she turned to look at the Chespin sat next to her.

"Sure, I mean we've been friends with Tommy for a while so it wouldn't hurt" Sammy grinned at the Fire Type who smiled back.

"Okay… It was just over three years ago… Tuesday 4th May 2010" Megan began…

3 Years Ago – Tuesday 4th May 2010

A Young Fennekin ran through the pouring rain in Magestia Town, if she didn't run she'd be late for school and there was a strict policy stating that anyone who was late for school would get detention.

After 5 Minutes of running through the rain she finally arrived in the school, ran in and ran towards her class and opened the door to the classroom and entered, Pokémon were just getting seated so she wasn't late luckily.

As she sat at her desk she sighed "Phew that was close, I was almost late for school"

Suddenly the door opened with a loud bang and the teacher entered, the teacher was a blissey who went by the name of Miss Angel who was a very nice teacher and Megan was happy she had been placed in such a nice class.

"Hello Class now I have an announcement for you today, there is a new student joining our class" Miss Angel sang as she looked down at the class with a smile on her face.

Megan, the Fennekin's name heard people whisper things like…

"I Wonder if it's a boy or a girl"

"Are they Pretty"

"Who Could it be"

Megan for one didn't care what this new student was like all she wanted to do is make friends with this Pokémon and Megan was really popular and pretty much friends with everyone in the school and she constantly had boys asking her out but she turned 'em all down since she already had a boyfriend and she couldn't bring herself to betray her boyfriend who was called Alex who was an Oshawott.

Blissey Continued "Okay gang here she is, the newest addition to our wonderful Class"

And with that a Chespin entered and Megan could sense that this Pokémon was terrified and Megan could completely understand, it wasn't easy standing up in front of a whole class.

"Now Sweetie introduce yourself" Miss Angel smiled at the Chespin who was shifting uncomfortable as she looked down at her feet.

"U-Um M-My n-name i-is S-Sammy and I am n-new h-here and it's nice to m-meet y-you I g-guess" She stuttered as she continued to look at her feet refusing to look at the class.

"It's lovely to meet you two dear now go sit down, that chair next to Megan on Megan's desk looks good, Megan's really nice and I am sure you two will get along well" Miss Angel beamed at the frightened Pokémon who nodded.

Sammy walked towards Megan and took her place next to Megan on Megan's desk and Megan smiled at her and introduced herself.

"Hey there I'm Megan and you must be Sammy, It's nice to meet you and I am sure we will be great friends" Megan smiled at the Chespin who turned to look at her and she looked very depressed.

"Y-Yeah you see I don't have friends and even if I did become your friend I would have no clue what to do so no thanks, I-I'm fine" Sammy replied causing to Megan gasp in disbelief at what Sammy had just told her.

Megan raised an eyebrow "How can you say that, you must have had friends at one time, Friendship is more important that anything and I want to be your friend"

"No I'm sorry but that won't be possible because I'm the Ugly disliked one and you're the Pretty and Popular one, It wouldn't work out, No One likes me so…. I'm gonna look this way now so please leave me alone" The Grass Type replied with a sad expression as she turned her head to look at the teacher who had just started the lesson.

The lesson seemed to pass quickly with neither Megan or Sammy making eye contact, Megan was worried sure but she didn't want to push her luck.

The Lesson finally finished and the students were heading to lunch, Sammy quickly got up and ran out of the room with a depressed look on her face leaving behind a very worried Megan.

Megan walked out of the classroom and started down the hall but after only a few steps she felt someone tap her on the shoulder and she came face to face with Alex.

"Hey sweetheart how was your lesson" Alex asked the fire type as he kissed her on the cheek causing her to giggle.

Megan replied with a smile "It went well but I met this Chespin who calls herself Sammy and I am very worried about her, she wouldn't make eye contact with me or talk to me or be my friend, in fact it seems like she doesn't have any friends BUT I want to do something about that"

"Wait the Chespin, are you talking about the one who those Pokémon are bullying outside and teasing" Alex curiosly asked with a concerned expression on his face causing Megan to gasp in shock.

"Oh dear I have to go help her, this isn't good, I'll see you in the lunch hall Alex" Megan exclaimed in a serious tone.

"Okay then"

And with that the Fennekin started running down the hall and towards the doors to help out the poor Pokémon.

Sammy was pushed face forward in the mud, bruises were all over her body from all the punching and kicking the bullies were doing to her, her nose was bleeding and she couldn't feel her right arm, she thinked it was broken.

The Bullies which consisted of a Timburr, Machop and Hawlucha continued to Punch and Kick the Chestnut Pokémon as she started to cry and whimper in sadness and pain.

Megan ran through the doors and spotted the bruised Pokémon and she gasped at what they were doing to her, she was covered in blood and bruises and she screamed in pain. That was the final straw and so Megan decided to jump in to the rescue.

Sammy cried out in agony "P-Please Stop, why do you have to be so mean and violent"

Hawlucha grinned evilly "Because We're bad to the bone honey and we care nothing for you, you're the most unpopular girl in school and no one likes you"

"STOP RIGHT THERE" They heard a voice say behind them.

They turned around and noticed Megan stood on top of the slide with a serious look on her face and looked ready to kill causing the three bullies to gasp in disbelief.

"M-Megan what are you doing here?" Machop gasped in shock at the fire Pokémon.

The Fennekin slid down the slide landing face first on the ground she got up and growled at them causing the three to scream in fright.

Sammy raised her head and gasped in disbelief, was Megan trying to save her but no one had ever cared about her before but why was Megan nice to her, it didn't make sense, her vision was going blurry and with that she fainted.

"What do you think you're doing to this poor innocent girl, you should be ashamed of yourselves" Megan ranted at the scared trio who nodded.

"Yeah, W-We're sorry Megan It will never happen again" Timburr whimpered as the trio slowly backed off and with that they ran away as they all shouted "We're running away again"

"Yeah It better not happen again or you will regret ever being born" She shouted after them.

She turned her attention to the Chespin who was unconscious so she walked over and shook her awake.

Sammy slowly opened her eyes and looked up to see Megan's Concerned face, Megan actually cared about her, no one had ever been this nice to her and certainly not saved her from bullies.

"M-Megan w-what are you doing her" Sammy tried to get up but she just fell back down back into the mud and Megan lifted her up and started walking Sammy to get treatment.

"Sammy I'm taking you to the hospital wing okay, you're badly injured and you need treatment" Megan said with a matter-of-fact look and Sammy nodded in agreement.

Sammy sighed "Yeah but why did you help me you should have just let them finish me off"

Megan smiled at the Chespin as they walked through the doors and started down the hallway towards the hospital wing "Because I want to be your friend and I can't let bullies bully Poor and Innocent Pokémon like yourself.

"I-I Never knew you actually cared about me, I thought you were just bluffing but I guess you're not like them but I will have to give it a bit of thought." Sammy said with a teary look on her face and Megan smiled at her.

"Of Course I care and I am not like them now you just need Treatment and then we can have a little chat if you would like"

The two reached the door of the hospital wing and Megan walked Sammy inside, Nurse Audino looked over at the 2 Pokémon and gasped as she ran towards them and grabbed Sammy's arm and walked her over and put her on the bed which Sammy laid down on and Audino started to examine the Pokemon.

It had been half an hour and Audino had put a cast on Sammy's Broken Arm and put plasters on her bruises.

Luckily Audino had let Megan stay by her side and she told Sammy just to stay in bed until the end of the day and happily let Megan stay with her and they two had started a conversation and were chatting happily while Megan was sat at the edge of the hospital bed.

"…So Sammy I guess you still don't wanna be friends, that's fine I guess"

Sammy shook her head in disagreement causing Megan to gasp in disbelief "No-No-No, I-I've ummm changed my mind after what you did for me, no one's ever been that nice to me and you didn't need to do all this, thank you and maybe we could be best friends or something I guess but if you don't want to then that's fine besides if you hang out with me you'll just be risking your popularity and you probably don't want that, just forget what I said okay"

Megan placed her paw on Sammy's causing her to blush and Megan smiled at her "No Of course we can be best friends and in all honestly I don't like being the popular one, it get's boring and annoying really quickly and I…. I Um….!"

"Um What Megan?" Sammy asked the fire type.

"Well um I know this is a sudden and I know we have only known each other since this morning but I Kinda… l-love y-you…as a friend of course and I want to be your best friend forever" Megan told the grass type as both girls started to blush.

"R-Really?"

Megan smiled at the Chespin "Yep and I was wondering if tonight you would like to sleep over at my house?"

"Um Okay but what's a sleepover" Sammy curiously asked the Fire Pokémon.

"Oh you don't know, Okay I guess I'll have to explain it then so a Sleepover is where you come to my house and we stay up all night and eat snacks and sweets and watch movies and play games and then go to sleep" Megan told her with a big smile on her face which caused Sammy to smile back

"Okay then I Can't wait yay it sounds like a lot of fun" A Happy Sammy exclaimed.

School had finished and the students were leaving to go home, Audino had told Sammy to keep the cast on and that it would take time to heal but Sammy was fine with that. The Pokémon walked home just chatting while holding each other's paws.

They had arrived at Megan's home which was a huge mansion and they let go of each other's paws as Megan opened the door and yelled inside "Is anyone in"

They finally got a reply and it was from Megan's little brother Timothy who at that moment walked up to them as the two Pokémon stepped into the house.

"Yah"

Megan raised an eyebrow "Where's Mum and Dad?"

Timothy smirked "They went out and who might this be?"

He directed his attention to the Chestnut Pokémon causing her to get shy and blush in embarrassment.

"Oh, this is my new best friend Sammy and she's staying over tonight" Megan smiled introducing her new found friend in Sammy.

"Oh okay then, do Mum and Dad know about this and did you ask them first?" Said Timothy.

Megan sweatdropped "No I didn't because they are out and besides they already told me If I want to invite a friend over it's okay with them so I don't have to ask"

"Alright then just be quiet, I am trying to study" Timothy sighed.

"I will have you know when Mum and Dad aren't here I'm the one who babysits you so first go study like you said you were going to do and then go to bed alright" Megan said with a smirk.

"B-But…" Timothy began but Megan interrupted.

"NO BUTS When Mum and Dad aren't here you listen to me, now go and do what I told you to do" Megan ordered.

The other Fennekin growled "FINE You're the worst sister ever"

He walked away muttering to himself in frustration as he walked up the stairs to his room to study and both girls went upstairs to Megan's room.

Megan pushed the door open and the two Pokémon walked into her room which was pink all over and there were posters of famous Pokémon on her walls, a HD TV on her wall, A Desk with a Computer on it and a big bed with pink covers and the Bed was big enough for several Pokémon to sleep on.

"So what do you think Sammy?" Megan asked the Grass Type with a Smile.

Sammy grinned "I Love it, It's so pretty"

"So shall we get this party started so what would you like to do first?" She asked Sammy who smiled at her.

"Um Play I guess but what can we play" Sammy replied.

Megan smirked at this "How about Truth and Dare"

Sammy had no idea what Truth or Dare was but whatever it was it sounded interesting.

"Sure"

The two girls sat on the ground opposite each other and Megan had a huge grin on her face.

"Okay, Truth or Dare?" Megan asked the grass type.

"Um Truth I guess and is this all you're supposed to do?" Sammy asked.

"Nope, if you get truth you have to answer my questions and if you get dare you have to do what I tell you to do, Okay so Is there a boy you like?" Megan started off.

"Um Nope, If I didn't have friends before I doubt I would fall in love with someone before" Sammy calmy said before continuing "So what do we do now?"

"It's your turn to ask me Truth or Dare" Megan simply said.

"Okay Truth or Dare?" Sammy replied

Megan thought about it for a moment before deciding.

"Truth"

"Is there a boy you like?"

Megan laughed at this "Of course there is, I've got a boyfriend"

Sammy giggled "This game is fun what should we do next?"

And so the girls stayed up all night playing Games, Eating Snacks and Sweets and they even watched a Movie called "Romeo and Juliet" and they both cried at the end.

It was time for lights out and Megan got into bed and got under the covers whilst Sammy was getting something out of her bag… Her sleeping bag.

"Hey Sammy what are you getting that out for" Megan curiously asked the Chespin.

This caused her to giggle "So I can go to sleep silly"

Megan raised an eyebrow "Um You know this bed is big enough for the both of us so you can sleep with me in my bed if you liked"

"um are you sure, I mean we haven't known each other long, are you positive you want me to sleep in your bed with you" Sammy face had gone completely red at the thought of this.

"Yep I'm positive" and with that Sammy climbed up onto the bed and got under the covers and laid next to megan who shuffled closer and snuggled up to Sammy causing the Chestnut Pokémon to blush even more.

"Good Night Sammy I Love you Best Friend"

Sammy smiled at the Fire Pokémon who currently had her arm around Sammy and her head leaning on her shoulder.

Sammy cuddled Megan back and whispered "Good Night and I love you too, I'm sure we'll be friends forever"

Present Day…

"…Shortly after Sammy's Arm was healed and her cast was off and after that we did so many things together, we went swimming, we went to the movies, we had many more sleepovers and we made some great friends and rather than me becoming unpopular Sammy became popular as well but sometimes our friendship suffered greatly usually because of a boy we would both like and we would end up fighting but we would always pull through" Megan finished with a smile.

Tommy and Sammy were both looking at Megan with Interest but Tommy wanted to know what bought them to Destiny Town.

"So what happened after like what happened before you moved to Destiny Town"

Megan grinned as she continued her story "I'll tell you okay It was July 20th 2012 the last day of school and I was getting ready to move"

July 20th 2012…

"Wow I can't believe School is finished" Exclaimed an Excited Megan before continuing "And Guess what Sammy, I'm moving to this lovely place called Destiny Town"

Sammy gasped in shock as her eyes started to water "R-Really so I guess we won't see each other again"

Megan raised an Eyebrow "Really oh don't worry I'm taking you with me"

"W-What but my parents, they won't like it" Sammy cried.

"Well Run away with me, Come on let's go to my house and get my stuff alright" Megan winked at Sammy causing Sammy to brighten up.

"YEAH Who cares what they think, let's get this show on the road" Sammy exclaimed as both girls jumped into the air and high fived each other.

"THAT'S THE SPIRIT SAMMY" Megan exclaimed loudly.

So both girls went to Megan's house and got her stuff and afterwards they ran to the train station and managed to arrived just before it was too late, they got on the train just in time, just before it left without them.

After 2 and a half hours on the train they finally arrived on the outskirts of Destiny Town, Sammy could see the quaint little town in the distance and it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

"Sammy we're about to begin our new life together in Destiny Town are you excited or what" Megan exclaimed happily and Sammy nodded.

"Yeah I am"

Present Day…

"Wow that was so touching" Tommy cried as he grabbed a wipe and wiped the tears that were starting to form from his eyes.

"Yep and some of it was embarrassing but It was interesting and I'm glad we're still friends Megan" Sammy beamed at the fire type who beamed back.

"Yeah It was and Sammy I am glad I met you, you're the bestest friend I've ever had and I love you so much" Megan smiled and with that both girls leaned forward and hugged each other as Tommy smiled at them.

"Well I'm glad I met both of them" Tommy muttered to himself with a grin on his face.

And so after an Interesting Story Tommy and Friends prepare for their next adventure and their next adventure will be life changing and they will go on a new adventure and if you want to find out where they are going well I would suggest staying tuned.

Next Chapter - Lost in the Foggy Mountains!

Team Ace is invited to stay at Megan's parents' house over the weekend so they decide to set course for Delphox Manor on Bliss Hills, on the way there though the Group get lost in the Foggy Mountains will they be able to find their way out of the mountain?
