Chapter 18 – Love Potion Mishap!
Little note and information about upcoming things related to Explorers of Life and Death!
Okay first things first I am currently writing a movie novelization special titled Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Mission to Save the Universe, I have already completed the Prologue to it and that will be up soon :) I hope you're excited for this
Next – For those who are wondering Gates to Destiny will be the continuation of Explorers of Life and Death.
That is it for now and without further ado let's begin this chapter
One more thing – You know how people say Laughter is the best medicine? Well not in this case, it would appear Love is the Best Medicine.

It was a dark stormy night in Destiny Town, all of the residents were either in bed, having a cup of hot chocolate in the warm or snuggled up under the blankets watching a film.
But there was one Pokémon who actually liked the rain and loved to play in it, her name is Hayley and she has a huge crush on Team Ace's Leader – Tommy.
She was running around outside loving the feeling of the cold rain hit her yellow face as she danced around feeling and tasting the raindrops fall.
Hayley giggled as she continued to dance around happily "Hehe the rain tastes awesome"
As she was running around she didn't notice a small bottle on the floor until it was too late.
Her foot slipped on the bottle sending her tumbling to the ground with a scream "Eeeee" as she fell into the muddy puddles.
She slowly got up out of the puddles trying to brush off the mud out of her fur but to no avail.
She sighed before wondering what she had stepped on, she noticed a small bottle nearby, the realization hit her, that must have been what she slipped on.
She slowly approached the small strange bottle and kneeling down she picked it up raising an eyebrow.
"What is this?"
She wiped the mud off of the label and gasped in shock and amazement at what it said on the front.
"Love Potion?" She read and she finally realized, she had found the answer to her problems; she could use it to get her beloved Tommy to admit his love to her.
She smirked at her devious plan, she couldn't believe she was going to do this but at the same time it would be a shame not to take advantage of the situation.
"Well…. Tommy there is no getting away from me this time… YOU WILL LOVE ME!" Hayley screamed at the top of her lungs.
She smiled in satisfaction whilst walking away towards Fennekin Mansion bottle in hand and singing to herself.
"Me and Tommy sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G, first comes love, then comes marriage and then comes a baby Pokémon in a golden carriage hehe"
…
"Geez it's really coming down out there!" Sammy exclaimed with a small sigh as she peered through the window at the pouring rain outside.
On a gloomy day like this our friends find themselves indoors cuddled up under a blanket on the sofa near a hot fire drinking hot chocolate and just enjoying the warmth.
Tommy smiled "Yeah but at least there are some advantages to it eh?"
Megan nodded with a smile before replying "Yeah, It's really cozy under this blanket cuddling up with my favourite Pokémon in the whole wide world, It's really awesome"
"You can say that again" Tommy said as he finished off his hot chocolate. "I'm finished"
"Me too" said Sammy with a giggle.
"Me three, wow we all finished at the same time" Megan said with a little laugh before continuing "I'll go make some more"
Megan got out from under the covers, jumped down off the sofa and walked out of the room towards the kitchen humming a little tune.
"So… we're alone, it's not often we're alone" Sammy piped in breaking the awkward silence.
Tommy laughed awkwardly "Yeah, I guess we are"
At that moment Megan peered her head through the living room door with a sheepish expression on her face.
"Uh guys, we've run out of Hot Chocolate, would you mind Oran Berry Juice, I'll heat it" Megan wondered.
"Sure, that sounds great" Tommy said with a nod and smile.
"Me too, I would love that" Sammy added excitedly causing Tommy and Megan to laugh at Sammy's enthusiasm.
"Okay then, I'll just be a minute"
And she meant it, within one minute she was back, tray with 3 cups of steaming hot Oran Berry Juice in her mouth.
"Be careful you don't drop it" Tommy sweatdropped.
She quickly put the tray on the table much to a delighted Tommy and Sammy who immediately grabbed their cups and drank some.
"Wow, that is awesome!" The Pikachu exclaimed.
But suddenly at that moment they heard the bell of the front door ring causing the three Pokémon to look at one another in confusion.
"Who could that be at this hour" Megan wondered.
Tommy raised an eyebrow as he started to get up "I have no idea but I'll go get it"
Tommy exited the room and started to walk down the hallway, he could see something yellow standing outside but he had no idea what or who it could be.
He reached the front door, reached for the handle, he turned it opening the door revealing a familiar Pikachu standing in front of him soaked head to toe from the rain.
"Hayley?" He wondered.
Hayley smiled and winked at him "Hey Tommy, 'sup"
At that moment upon hearing Hayley's voice both Megan and Sammy rushed to the front door and stood next to tommy, all 3 of them were looking at Hayley in confusion.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Megan.
Sammy raised an eyebrow "Yeah, shouldn't you be at home where it's warm and cozy?"
"Well, I love to play in the rain, it's just something I love to do" Hayley replied with a giggle.
"Cute" Tommy simply said.
"What's that you're holding there" Megan asked, she had noticed the strange looking bottle Hayley was holding.
Something about it seemed familiar to Megan but she didn't know why or did or if she had seen it before.
"Oh this?" she confusedly replied as she pointed to the bottle before answering while trying to hide the label "Oh it's just my medicine, I have to always keep it on me whenever it rains to control my electricity"
"Ahh I heard about things like that, my electricity has been working fine for me" Tommy beamed.
"Are you gonna come in or what?" Sammy asked starting to get a bit irritated.
"Sure, thanks a lot you guys" Hayley smiled.
"Cool I'll go make some more oran berry juice!" Megan piped in before hurrying towards the kitchen as Sammy entered the house closing the door behind her.
She followed Tommy and Sammy into the living room, truthfully this was the first time she had been into the Fennekin Mansion and she was impressed.
She gaped in awe at the really neat and tidy living room, she had never seen anything so clean before.
"Wow" The Female Pikachu muttered.
Sammy giggled "Judging by your expression you like it right?"
Hayley shook her head "Nope, I don't just like it… I LOVE IT!"
At that second Megan came scurrying in with a cup of hot oran berry juice held in her paw and gave it to Hayley who accepted it graciously.
"Thanks Megan" Hayley said with a look of gratitude.
Megan laughed softly "You're welcome"
Hayley knew it was now time for her to take action, it was now or never HEHE Tommy won't know what hit him, let's hope this works.
"Hey Guys when I was outside, I saw a really big round flying saucer and It almost looked like a spaceship, if you hurry up you may be able to see it" Hayley told them giving them an innocent look.
Upon hearing this Tommy's eyes lit up and he started jumping around excitedly.
"C'mon we have to go see it" Tommy exclaimed and in a seconds flat he was off running out the house as fast as he could.
Megan and Sammy sweatdropped at their friends over-enthusiasm, but what could you expect this was Tommy they were talking about.
"We'd better go after him" Megan said with a sigh.
Sammy smiled slightly "Yep" she turned to face Hayley with a confused expression once Megan ran off in pursuit of Tommy "You Coming?"
"Nope, I've already seen it besides I need to keep an eye on things" Hayley replied shaking her head.
"Touche, See ya in a sec"
And with that the chespin ran as fast as her legs could take her in pursuit of her friends.
Hayley smirked at their cluelessness, she couldn't believe it had been that easy and with that the female Pikachu quickly put her oran berry juice on the table and opened the bottle as she walked to the middle of the table, looked down at the cup and quickly not to mention quietly poured a tiny bit of the love potion in.
She smiled in satisfaction, she had finally done it, she couldn't believe it… TOMMY was finally gonna be HERS.
She quietly picked up her drink again and snuck back to the sofa with a huge smirk on her face.
As soon as she sat on the sofa she could hear the front door opening and within a few seconds the Team Re-entered the living room, a Disappointed Tommy among them.
"What a shame, we didn't get to see any aliens, I guess they left before we got there" Tommy sighed as he turned to pick up his drink taking a swig, he removed the cup from his mouth slowly raising an eyebrow.
"Why does it taste a little different than before, hmm strange" Tommy questioned.
"It's probably just got cold, nothing to worry about" Megan answered.
Hayley looked at the clock on the wall and issued a fake gasp before exclaiming "Oh would you look at that, it's just about time for me to go home!"
Sammy gave her a confused look before smiling "Leaving so soon, well I guess you have other things you need to do, au revoir" before gulping down her juice.
"Yep, bye bye" And with that Hayley walked out of the room, down the hallway, opened the door stepping out into the cold rain and with that the young Pikachu ran home as fast as she could grinning deviously along the way.
"Soon, you're going to be mine Tommy, there's no escaping your fate hehe"
…
"Urgh… what time is it" Tommy groaned as he slowly rolled onto his side looking at the clock on the wall which read 7:00am meaning it was still pretty early.
"I'm going back to sleep" Tommy started to close his eyes.
But before he could close his eyes to fall back asleep Megan burst through the door causing him to scream and fall out of bed onto the soft carpet.
A Frustrated Tommy jumped up off the ground and looked at her with a very angry look on his face as he placed his paws on his hips.
"Hey what's the big deal Megan" Tommy cried.
Megan shook her head and gave him a look of extreme worry "Tommy we do not have time for this, something's wrong with Sammy"
Tommy blinked in confusion at this.
"Huh?!"
…
The two worried pokemon quickly ran into Sammy's room and what Tommy saw he wasn't expecting, Sammy was laid down on them shifting and turning in her sleep muttering something which they couldnt distinguish clearly.
"What happened" Tommy wondered.
Megan sighed "No Idea but she's been muttering something in her sleep all morning and I can't distinguish what she's trying to say and I checked her temperature and she has a bit of a fever so do you think you could find out what she's trying to say"
Tommy laughed slightly "I guess"
He slowly approached the chespin and kneeled down next to her on the bed and tried to listen closely and he finally could hear what she was trying to say.
"Hailey, I wuv Hayley hehehe" Sammy muttered as she tossed and turned.
This disturbed Tommy greatly, had she said what he thought she had said, now he was extremely worried for his friend and he got up and went to stand next to Megan again.
"This is pretty disturbing… you see she said that she loves Hayley" Tommy told Megan who instantly gasped upon hearing this.
"B-But there's only one Hayley we know GASP" She gasped as realization hit her, she remembered the bottle of love potion that she had threw out so Hailey must have found it.
"Oh no she must have found the love potion I threw out" Megan admitted as she lowered her head in shame waiting for Tommy to shout at her but he didn't, instead he sighed in disappointment.
"You never told me you had love potion" Tommy said as he gave her a look of disapproval.
Megan quickly raised her head to look at him and shook her head "It isnt mine, it was Sammy's, I was just doing the right thing"
Tommy smiled slightly in relief at this "Good but still you shouldn't have been so careless"
Megan nodded in agreement "I Know but we should really have a word with hayley because you see there is only one cure for it"
"Right" Tommy agreed.
And with that the two pokemon ran as fast as they could out of the door, down the stairs and through the front door of the house and towards Hayley's House.
…
Knock Knock
Tommy knocked on the front door, for a few seconds nothing could be heard but the door slowly opened revealing a Raichu who instantly beamed upon noticing who it was.
"Hello kids, I see you are doing well, wasn't there another one of you though" Raichu wondered.
Megan sighed "Sammy's still asleep"
Raichu laughed softly "I see… so are you two gonna come in"
"Yes but only for a second, we need to talk to your daughter about something important" Tommy informed her.
She nodded her head in approval letting the pokemon in, her house wasn't big or anything, in fact it was quite small.
"So where's Hayley?" Megan asked.
"She's upstairs, I'm sure she'll love some company" Raichu replied with a little giggle.
"Right" Both the Fennekin and Pikachu said in unison.
…
Tommy knocked on Hayley's door twice waiting for an answer, they waited a few seconds before she opened her door and gasped…
Tommy hadn't been affected… but how?
Hayley gave them a fake grin as she let the two Pokémon in, both Tommy and Megan gave Hayley a deadly stair before Megan finally said something…
"So… I have a question for you" Megan sternly said.
Hayley sweatdropped "Yeah and what might that be?"
"Did you find a love potion recently" Megan interrogated.
Hayley sighed in defeat, she had been found out, figures…
"Y-yes I did" Hayley admitted.
"And did you spike Sammy's drink with love potion last night when you came over?" Megan seriously asked.
"Wait what?" Hayley gasped as the realization hit her.
She must have accidently put the love potion in Sammy's drink and not in Tommy's, that explained why Tommy was unaffected.
"I-I'm sorry, I was hoping to spike Tommy's drink to make him like me but I-I-I m-must o-of spiked sammy's instead" Hayley cried as she walked over to the bed and laid down face first sobbing into the sheets.
"Oh Hayley…" Tommy sighed in exasperation.
"You've really caused us quite a bit of trouble today" Megan sadly told the crying girl Pikachu.
Tommy started to feel a bit bad for Hayley "Listen Hayley, you shouldn't force other pokemon to like you just because you like them, that is just cheating and messing with the feelings of other Pokémon which isnt a good thing, you see we're faced with a bit of a dilemma…"
"Really and what is that?" Hayley asked as she got up revealing her tear stricken face as she sat at the edge of the bed still quietly crying.
"There's only one cure for this…" Megan replied.
"Yeah… and what's that?" Hayley cried.
"Love, basically in order to cure her you will need to go out with her… kinda go on a date in a way" said Megan with a sad look on her face.
Hayley gasped in disbelief at what Megan had just told her, she hadn't said what she thought she had said had she?
"Are you being serious… b-but I'm not t-that way, I like boys" Hayley cried.
"Yes, we don't like it any more than you do, if all goes to plan, it should just be for today" Megan replied giving the Pikachu a small smile.
"I guess it won't be too bad… I'll get to spend a little bit of time with Sammy" Hayley replied looking down at her feet.
"Atta girl Hayley, it's best to look at the bright side… so shall we start heading back to ours?" Megan giggled.
"Yeah"
"Let's go then" Tommy added.
And with that the three Pokémon left Hayley's house with Hayley who was getting really nervous at the thought of dating another girl and started up towards Fennekin Mansion.
…
The four Pokémon entered Sammy's bedroom and Hayley couldn't believe that this was actually happening, Sammy was asleep and she could hear her muttering her name.
Megan quietly approached Sammy and poked her slightly whispering "Wake up Hayley's here"
Upon hearing this Sammy's eyes snapped open and she jumped off the bed and upon noticing Hayley she ran at Hayley pulling her into a huge hug causing Hayley's face to turn red.
"Hayley's here yay, I wuv you Hayley!" Sammy exclaimed causing Megan and Tommy to laugh slightly at this.
"Do I have to do this?" Hayley quietly asked the two.
Megan smirked "Yep unless… you want us to tell your mother what you did"
Hayley tensed up, Megan was right her mother would not be the least bit amused.
"Fine… So I just have to take her on a date and show her I love her and then bring her back and she should be back to normal in the morning?" Hayley whispered back.
"Indeed" Tommy replied with a little smile.
"F-Fine… s-so um Sammy, do you wanna go out or s-something?" Hayley asked the chestnut Pokémon as her face turned even redder it made her look more like a charmander than a Pikachu.
"I would love to hehe" Sammy replied still hugging the blushing Pikachu.
Things were going to get interesting…
…
"So where would you like to go" An Embarrased Hayley asked the Chespin who was currently holding her paw as they walked through Town.
"I dunno… maybe go to the movies or something" Sammy replied with a small giggle.
Hayley blushed an even brighter shade of red "S-Sure"
Hayley could notice that Pokemon were staring, they obviously knew that they were both girls and some seemed weirded out by it which made Hayley even more embarrassed as the two walked through town heading to the cinema which was on the other side of town near the school…
After 5 Minutes of Walking they finally arrived at the huge cinema, not too many Pokémon were around since it was the daytime and Pokémon preferred to go during the night.
They entered the cinema and approached the Pokémon who was a Staraptor at the front desk still holding hands.
Staraptor noticed the two holding each other's paw but decided not to comment on it since he didn't like to judge other Pokémon.
"How may I help you two" Staraptor beamed at the duo.
"Um" Hayley turned to face Sammy before asking her "What would you like to see?"
Sammy looked at the posters behind Staraptor and giggled upon noticing the perfect one for both of them to watch.
"That one!" She exclaimed pointing at the poster on the left of staraptor titled – Pokémon in Love.
Hayley blushed "Are y-you sure?"
Sammy giggled as she threw her arms around Hayley hugging her tightly "I'm Positive Silly" before letting go.
"I'm sure you'll love it, that'll be 100 Poké" Staraptor said as he laughed slightly.
"Okay" Hayley sighed in defeat.
And with that the female Pikachu got the requested amount of money out of her bag, handed it to the Staraptor who immediately gave them their tickets and led them to the viewing room and once reaching the room he left to go back to reception.
The two entered the viewing room, Sammy still held her beloved Hailey's paw and Hailey was still blushing brighter than a red rose, there weren't many Pokémon in the room, only 5 or 6 were present, it was much busier during the evenings.
"Let's go sit at the front hehe" Sammy whispered in Hayley's ear giggling.
"U-Um okay" The embarrassed Mouse Pokemon replied.
And so the two Pokémon took their places on the front row still holding each other's paw and as soon as they sat down Sammy placed her head on Hayley's shoulder giving the Pikachu a little kiss on the cheek as she did so causing the both to blush a bright pink.
Sammy was sat their cuddling a Blushing Hayley while they waited for the film to start during the adverts and within 10 Minutes after the Adverts had stopped playing it finally started much to a please Sammy.
During the movie Sammy attempted to make a move onto Hayley trying to kiss her on the lips several times but Hayley managed to stop her by thinking of some excuse and it seemed to work.
…
The Movie had finally finished much to a delighted Hayley who immediately dragged a disappointed Sammy by the paw out of the cinema, Sammy was quite was disappointed at the fact that the film had finished since she had loved It so much.
Upon leaving the cinema Sammy giggled slightly to herself causing her so called girlfriend Hayley to raise an eyebrow as they walked into the main part of Town holding hands.
"Why are you giggling" Hayley asked.
"Hehehe, it's nothing really but I was thinking, could we perhaps just hang out at the beach" Sammy pleaded with a look of hope in her eyes.
"Uh, are you talking about the beach on the outskirts of town" Wondered Hayley looking at the chespin in confusion.
"Yep, Pwease?" Sammy pleaded giving her the lillipuppy look.
"Fine" Hayley gave in.
And with that the two Pokémon walked out of town, turned right, they walked down the path which took them about a minute until they walked into the somewhat large beach.
Sammy immediately grabbed Hayley's paw and the two ran to the front of the beach just in front of the sea and they both sat down in the soft sand, personally Hayley was actually starting to enjoy herself, she hadn't ever really spent any time with Sammy or Megan or even Tommy and she liked it.
Still holding paws they looked at the setting sun, the two hadn't realized how late it was getting, it was almost night time but in all honestly the setting sun was the most beautiful and romantic thing either of them had ever seen.
"It's really beautiful but why wouldn't you kiss me back in the cinema" Sammy asked as she turned to look at Hayley with a look of disappointment evident on her face.
"Because I wanna wait for a really special and magical moment hehe" Hayley lied.
Sammy smirked at this "Like now?"
"U-Uh no, n-not really…" Hayley sweatdropped.
"Oh c'mon Hayley, this is all of the things you said and more… please, don't you love me?..." Sammy started to cry which started to make Hayley feel really bad.
Hayley realized, if she disappointed Sammy now she would have to do all this again and as much as she had enjoyed herself it didn't change the fact she liked boys not girls but if this was what it takes then so be it, she would just have to kiss Sammy and show that she loved her…
"Of course I do, and I suppose s…" Hayley started but before she could continue Sammy threw herself at Hayley causing Hayley's eyes to widen in surprise as she felt Sammy's lips touch hers causing both to blush as they pulled each other close kissing the other with all their might…
Hayley had never felt something so wonderful and this was certainly a beautiful and romantic night she would never forget…
…
"Urgh" Sammy groaned as she slowly turned over and noticed the clock that said 12:00pm which caused her to gasp in surprise as she jumped off the bed and looked around the room, she was in her bedroom and no one had come up to wake her up, strange.
She ran out of the door as fast as she could and down the stairs and sprinted through the hallway and into the living room…
Both Tommy and Megan were sat down watching the Pokémon News and everything seemed normal.
Both Pokémon turned around and upon noticing the chespin standing their beamed as they got up off the sofa and ran over to greet their friend.
"So… Sammy did you enjoy yourself last night hehe" Megan sniggered.
Tommy smiled "Yeah what happened"
"I-I can't remember a thing, what happened and why didn't you two wake me up" Sammy questioned.
"Uhhhhh" The Male Pikachu and the Fennekin tensed up at this.
But all of a sudden it came back to her like a lightning bolt causing her to gasp, she couldn't believe it…
"Oh my Arceus… I-I kissed H-Hayley, she gave me love potion didn't she…? grrr" She growled in both anger and frustration.
Her eyes literally turned red as she looked at her two frightened friends who started to hug each other in fright as they whimpered with a scared look in their eyes and with that the Chespin stormed out of the room and out of the house towards Hayley's house with a murderous expression on her face.
"I would hate to be Hayley right now…" Tommy piped up.
"Yep" Megan nodded in agreement.
At Hayley's House…
Hayley was just laid down oh her bed looking at the ceiling thinking to herself about last night, she couldn't believe it, she had kissed another girl and she had liked it?
Hayley sighed dreamily but suddenly…
BANG!
The Door Opened with a loud slam causing Hayley to look towards the door and upon noticing who was at the door she tensed up.
Standing there with a furious expression on her face and her eyes glowing red, was Sammy. One thing was for sure, this couldn't be good because she did not look amused WHATSOEVER!
Hayley quicked jumped off the bed and slowly approached the angry chestnut Pokémon and gave her a fake smile.
"Hey Sammy, so wassup…?" Hayley said with a nervous laugh.
Sammy growled "Don't you wassup me!"
Sammy took a step forward, Hayley took a step back, Step Forward, Step Back, Step forward, Step Back… until Hayley hit the back wall and gasped as she looked at the chespin who had a murderous look on her face with a hint of an evil smirk as she raised her fist causing Hayley to cry slightly.
"I-I'm So-So Sorry, P-p-p-please let me go, I didn't mean to" Hayley cried.
Sammy smirked evilly even more "Hehehehe, I've got you now you little bitch, I don't care if you didn't mean to, no one and I REPEAT NO ONE Messes with my feelings, you are so going to die!"
"I'm really sorry SAMMY Please leave me be, I won't ever do it again!" Hayley sobbed.
"You aren't getting away with it this time" Sammy shouted before punching Hayley in the face knocking her to the ground before kicking her in the stomach causing Hayley to clutch her stomach in pain making her cry even more.
"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP" Hayley screamed but no one seemed to hear her.
And so another wacky adventure comes to an end for our heroes and it seems another one of Hayley's plans to make Tommy to love her has failed, will any of them get their feelings known to Tommy, well find out as the Journey continues!
"PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME" Hayley cried.

Next Chapter – Lucario's Guild and the Fennekin Fanclub?!
An Unexpected Visitor arrives at Team Ace's Mansion and tells them that he is the Guildmaster of a guild near Destiny Town called Lucario's guild and that he would like them to join temporarly because he is impressed with their exploration skills, upon arriving at the Guild Megan becomes instantly popular and Sammy and Tommy struggle to fit in…
Well I would like to apologise for the delay, I have just been taking a little break from writing but I am back into it now and back with a new hilarious chapter and the next chapter will be up very soon and in it the Pokémon at the Guild become obsessed with Megan and Tommy and Sammy have trouble fitting it?!
