Chapter 2

It had been over a year since Harry had gotten his soul companions and he wouldn't have traded that year for anything. In the year he had them they had both evolved and become stronger, of course they weren't the only ones.

In the time he was working with and training them to deepen the bonds he himself had been getting fitter and coming to terms with what he was.

Plus the addition of his new friend he thought he would be more then ready for whatever comes his way.

Flashback 1 year

Harry had just finished a sparring match with his Riolu which he had taken to calling Ria since it seemed to fit her. So he left Ria to continue sparring with his Golett that he had named Ivan which seemed to make the Golett happy.

As he sat at a bench and took a sip of water he noticed that something was moving beside him and looking over he saw an Igglybuff.

It was trying to reach the food that he had left on the bench for his companions and seemed to be struggling.

As Harry watched it he thought that this Pokémon was rather small and seemed really dirty and underfed. For a few seconds the Igglybuff didn't seem to notice it's watcher before it turned and saw Harry watching it.

It squeaked and then tried to run but it tripped over its own feet falling flat on the ground, Harry got up to try and help it but it started making sounds of distress as he tried to get closer to it.

Harry stopped and moved back from the Igglybuff squatting near the bench with his hands up and out showing he meant no harm.

During this Ria and Ivan had stopped sparring and had come to stand by Harry watching the Igglybuff as it managed to get back on its feet.

Ria took a step forward and seemed to address the Igglybuff in a demanding tone with Ivan looking at Harry seeing if he was possibly injured. "Ria don't be rude from what I can see this little guy is scared, starving and doesn't need you being mean to him."

Ria huffed and turned her snout in the air seemingly ignoring the trio while Harry whole his head and worried about addressing that later.

He turned back to the Igglybuff and while keeping eye contact reached for the food on the bench and broke off a piece of the bone curry he had made.

Without taking his eyes off of the Igglybuff he stretched his arm out to the little pink ball and then waited with the piece left in his open hand. The Igglybuff looked at him with distrust plain on its face but it began to shuffle forward reaching for the piece of bone curry.

It quickly snatched it up and rushed away to hide behind a tree to disappear leaving the trio alone in the park.

Flashback end

Over the course of the next year Harry had managed to earn the trust of the Igglybuff now turned Jigglypuff.

He had found out that a trainer had been unable to evolve him and had mistreated him for being unevolved. Luckily thanks to Harry befriending him he managed to get ownership of him and got the original owner to relinquish all his Pokémon.

The Jigglypuffs name had been Adriane but Harry felt that a new start needed a new name and had it officially changed to Johnathan, John for short.

Of course the past year hadn't been all easy and uplifting for the group.

Flashback 7 months

Vernon had just returned from work and was excited because he had finally accomplished something his company had been trying to do for seven years.

"Pet bring the boys down I have news that everyone will love."

Petunia down the boys and took a seat next to her husband, Harry was the first to arrive with his now Lucario standing behind him as he took a seat on the couch looking towards his uncle.

After five minutes Dudley finally joined them in the living room sitting as far away from Harry as he could.

"I'm sure both of you are wondering what all the excitement is about. Well I had managed to convince the digging family to sign on with my company and while helping the father and mother on the isle of armor I found a man who had lost some diglettes he had caught in Alola."

"In exchange for sending some of them back to him once I found them he gave me this."

He pulls out a poke ball and activated it, after the light died down a small grey and yellow four legged creature with metal covering its body.

"This little fellow is a Jangmo-o and he's for you dudders."

A gleam appears in Dudley's eyes as he picks up his new Pokémon and sits back in the couch.

"The two sons also dug up some moonstones which they gave to me so I'm going to give one to you Harry and one for you pet."

Vernon hands out both of the evolution stones and Petunia uses hers immediately on her Skitty turning it into a Delcatty.

Harry chose to keep his until John wanted to evolve since this would affect him more then it would Harry. After this news the two boys left to do their own things with Dudley running off to show his friends his new Pokémon and Harry to train.

A short while later

As Harry had just finished putting Ria and Ivan through their paces he was about to have John do some singing practice when Dudley and his crew showed up.

"Well would you look at that the freak and his sissy Pokémon are trying to train for a talent show."

His crew laughs at that and start poking fun at the wizard and Jigglypuff.

"How about you put your money where your mouth is Dudders."

The laughing stops immediately and a tension grows in the silence with Dudley growling as if he was a Arcanine.

"And how would I do that freak."

"Well you did just get a Pokémon so how about a battle your Jangmo-o versus my Jigglypuff after all if he's so useless then you should have no trouble beating me. But if you don't win then you must be a poor trainer then."

Dudley reaches for his belt and releases the Jangmo-o and before anyone can react orders it to tackle the Jigglypuff.

Harry having expected this tells John to dodge and then sing, the Jangmo-o is easily dodged and as it tries to turn to tackle again John begins to sing.

Instantly the effect is obvious and Jangmo-o is asleep John doesn't even wait for Harry to give the command before using disarming voice knocking out the dragon type from any more fighting.

"Well it's seems we know who the real trainer is don't we Dudders."

Dudley recalls Jangmo-o and turns to leave with his crew but turns to give one last parting shot.

"At least I have friends and parents all you have are your Pokémon and nothing else."

And with those words said Dudley and his group left leaving Harry with John and no one else to see the tears fall from his face.

Flashback end

John had still yet to evolve into his next form but Harry was fine with that since he didn't want to pressure his partner into something he didn't want. He also learned that while his cousins words at the time had hurt he had come to learn that his cousin wouldn't amount to much if he kept his ways.

So it comforted him that he would be a better person and trainer then his cousin who still only had a Jangmo-o and nothing else.

But shaking away thoughts of his cousin Harry focused on the last of the training for his team that had been changing as they grew.

"Alright everyone that's enough let's start heading back." Ria and Ivan stopped their spar with Ria panting heavily and Ivan's glow being faint.

John released the breath he had been holding to help improve his lung capacity, it had been a good day all around for training. Thanks to the way they all trained Ria had absurd strength and the ability to hit ghost types thanks to constantly sparring with Ivan.

Her toughness also went up thanks to all the hits taken from Ivan when he managed to get a hit in which was becoming more frequent.

Not of course due to Ria slowing down but because Ivan's speed has increased drastically from when they had first started. His toughness also increased thanks to some materials Harry was able to get his hands on thanks to his uncles job.

Finally John had managed to also become stronger and tougher but not really faster due to not really needing to thanks to his songs.

"Master Ivan will walk you home while I go ahead, John has chosen to be the one to watch over you at our present abode."

Also their was the strange ability that Ria had manifested upon evolving into a Lucario, it was startling at first. But after getting use to it Harry saw the massive advantage of being able to communicate with his team like this.

"Alright Ria let's go home."
