Chapter 6
Harry stood at the front door to his Aunts house waiting for professor McGonagall to arrive and take him shopping for his school supplies.
After Mave Stransburgi had delivered his letter he had immediately started writing a letter to ask the storm of questions swirling in his mind. He had written such a long letter that it took five papers and writing on the front and back of them to get all his questions out.
After sending it he waited five days before he received a return letter not from the mail man but from a Noctowl. It carried the letter in its talons and offered it to him before simply turning away and flying off.
He was at first surprised at the appearance of the Pokémon at his window but quickly got over it when he felt a presence brush his mind flashing images and sounds about why they were there.
After he opened and read the letter he was relieved to have his fears about what will happen when he gets to school cleared such as how many Pokémon he was allowed to have as a first year.
What was the max number of Pokémon he could have was and if he was also restricted to the Pokémon in his region like others from Galar.
He was also worried about what types of classes would be mandatory or an elective, plus he was worried about how they would get to the school when it came time for the school year to start.
But now that his questions had been answered for now he was excited to visit this diagon ally and see what wonders it may have.
Luckily he wouldn't have to wait much longer for he could see a woman matching the description of professor McGonagall moving towards him with a young woman and her parents trailing behind her.
As the group approached they couldn't help but notice the small party at the entrance to the house a large Golurk seemed to loom of the boy which would have made it intimidating. If not for the Wigglytuff sitting on top of its head giving a fierce glare at the approaching group.
But neither of these Pokémon had anything on the Lucario exuding a aura of pure contempt for the small group that seemed to say how dare they approach her and her master.
But just as it seemed they would be enveloped by the feeling it suddenly disappeared with an eye roll from the Lucario and it moved back into a more relaxed posture leaning against the wall arms crossed but still keeping an eye on the group.
"Sorry about them, their all rather protective of me even though they well know o can take care of my self."
The last part of this sentence was directed at the Pokémon around him with the Lucario looking off to the side while the Wigglytuff looked unapologetic.
The Golurk simply moved back but didn't remove its gaze from the group.
"Anyway good morning professor McGonagall and company it is a pleasure to meet all of you even with the theatrics of these three but let's not let the rudeness spoil the moment."
At these words Harry moved forward and with a grandiose bow and a voice filled with mock poshness he introduces himself and his Pokémon.
"My name is Harry James Potter at your service, the rude Lucario over there is Ria, the rather standoffish Wigglytuff is John and last but certainly never lest is Ivan our endearing heartthrob."
At these words Harry fake swoons leading to the group behind McGonagall to chuckle while she struggled to his a smirk.
Harry had been worried all night that his introduction might have been to over the top and made him look weird instead of fun to be around but with the reactions he got he was glad he went with this instead of a bland greeting.
McGonagall cleared her throat and moved forward with a slight smile on her lips.
"Well I can't say wether I approve the method or not but it is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Potter allow me to introduce the Grangers and their daughter Hermione."
Harry stepped forward and shook hands with both Mr and Mrs Granger before reaching Hermione who grabbed his hand and shook it rather timidly.
She quickly pulled back and almost tripped over the Pokémon that had been following her, it was a small four legged creature with orange and black fur with bushy tan fur on top of its head and tail.
It tried to push Hermione forward seemingly encouraging her to try and talk to Harry even if Hermione looked like she would rather be doing something else.
"Hello Harry it's nice to meet you I hope we can get along and have a fun time at Hogwarts."
The creature behind Hermione gives a happy bark and its tail begins to wag in a fast pace kicking up a small dust cloud behind it.
"Oh and this is my bonded Growlithe her names Lucia, which one of them is your bonded?"
At Hermione's words Ivan and Ria step forward and take a position on either side of Harry while John takes a place off to the side separate but still ready to join the others if something happens.
"Well that would be Ivan and Ria here I got John later when he was still an Igglybuff and stealing some of my lunches."
Harry's small smile at these words as well as Johns fond smile show that there is no animosity between them and thought of it as a fond memory shared between them.
Hermione stood there in shock at the news of Harry having two bonded for all the research she had done showed that it was very rare to have more then one bonded when first being given a Pokémon.
"Wow you are so lucky it's very rare for a witch or wizard to have more then one bonded when starting out like us, what's it like having two bonded, how deep is your bond with them, can your Lucario project their thoughts like those in legend can?"
Harry wasn't surprised by the questions but he was surprised by the speed that they where being asked at.
"Hermione please we talked about this you can't just bombard people with personal questions it is rude."
Mrs.Granger lightly chastise her daughter for forgetting the same thing she had told her daughter not even a week ago. Meanwhile Mr.Granger simply stood behind his wife with a rueful smile and watching his wife and daughter with clear fondness in his eyes.
Hermione blushes up a storm at her mothers words and mumbles an apology while seemingly trying to hide in her hair and Lucia whimpers and lays as flat on the ground as she can.
Harry simply waves it off telling her it's fine, McGonagall moves forward and starts to move the entire group along moving deeper into the city.
Harry and Hermione hang out at the back conversing and seemingly having a question and answer session that had all the adults smiling at the interaction between the two.
They quickly move through the streets of Wyndon they traverse to a small place almost out of the way before stopping before a slightly run down black building that looked ancient next to its modern cohorts.
McGonagall turns to address the small party once she gains the attention of the two children that were in deep conversation having gotten past the answer and question segment.
"This is the entrance to diagon alley called the leaky cauldron, it was once hidden from muggles when wizards still had to hide what we where."
Hermione quickly shots up her hand and stands on her tippy toes as if bursting to ask her question, causing her father to chuckle and her mother to sigh with a slight smile on her face.
"Yes miss Granger, what is your question?" Hermione blushes lightly at the amused tone in McGonagall's voice before shaking it away and proceeding to ask her question.
"If there was a spell to hide wizards that had worked so long then what lead to them being discovered and why this building in particular to be the entrance?"
McGonagall looks particularly pleased with the questions and Hermione took a breath from the anxiety she had been feeling.
"To answer your questions in order an event that happened over ten years ago lead to an incident that the wizard of government couldn't cover up for once. So we had to start integrating with the non magical society as in the days of our ancestors." A note of sadness had taken over McGonagall's voice as she shared this information.
She quickly collected herself and continued to answer Hermione. "You can find out more in your history class at Hogwarts, as for the second question. The leaky cauldron was here long before the alley and was used to allow witches and wizards to rest and eat before continuing travel."
Hermione had a look of awe at the history of the place and how long it must have been here and all it had to have seen let alone survive.
"After a time and this small village started to become a city, wizards started to gather here more and more and conducting business in its very tavern. This eventually lead to new businesses opening up and needing to be hidden from the non magicals, thus Diagon Alley was born."
Hermione all but jumped in excitement at the history of the place and what knowledge she could possible gain from it.
Her parents merely groaned at the fact the would have to drag their daughter out of the alley once they grabbed all the supplies necessary for school and whatever books they could afford.
"Now that we have answered that let us go and gather your supplies." McGonagall opened the door and ushered them inside.
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I apologize for how long it took to write this one but tis the season. Anyway please leave a comment and review and have a good day or night.
