Chapter 7

As they entered the Leaky Cauldron the first thought running through everyone's head was, this place is so dingy, with grime covered windows dusty air and dark alcoves.

It gave the entire tavern a foreboding feel rather then a magical feel, Harry felt that ghost and dark types must love this place with its overall feel and atmosphere. McGonagall barely slowed down and started to lead them to the back of the tavern and lead them thru a door that lead them into a small courtyard surrounded by a brick wall with some crates and barrels.

She stepped towards the wall the farthest from the door and withdrew her wand pointing it towards the wall.

"This is the entrance the the alley proper and if you wish to enter you must take your wand and tap out this pattern." She quickly tapped out a short quick pattern that once finished Mcgonagall stepped back from the wall.

The wall quickly started to shift apart and started to take on the appearance of an archway that once fully formed opened up onto a strange and magical site.

Rows and rows of buildings and people payed before them, the people wearing strange robes and clothes with Pokémon following them from all corners of the region.

The buildings where even stranger, all of them seemed to sag on another building holding each other up and some jutted out over the alley almost as if they would collapse into it. They ranged in color and design just as much as the people of not more so, the only building that looked somewhat reasonable was the large white building at the end of the alley.

Upon seeing where their gaze had landed McGonagall decided to address the unasked question. "That building at the end is Gringotts the only wizard int bank where you can exchange pokedollars for wizard int currency though the non magical is pushing for us to change to their currency."

Harry was hoping that they didn't need to have cash to ask for wizard int money, he hopes that they would have a scholarship that he could hopefully take part in to pay for his schooling.

McGonagall gave them another minute before moving forward again leading them towards the bank and giving them a small tour of the shops in the alley that they pass along the way.

Harry tried to pay attention but he was more concerned for Ria, she was on edge around such a loathe crowd and from what he could tell she didn't like the feel of a few of them. He was also concerned about John as well since Ivan couldn't fit through the building he had to go into his ball but John seemed to take up extra duty for there absent comrade and it was making him anxious to be around so many people.

Harry kept sending calming feelings through the link and tried to assure them that nothing was going to happen they were safe here.

It helped to keep them from lashing out but it didn't stop them from being prepared for any eventual attacks or enemies thanks to them constantly being harassed by Dudley.

Soon enough they reached the steps leading up to Gringotts and standing at the sides of the door where two small creatures with an Aggron on either side of them. A large door payed before them closed and above it a set of words had been carved above them, enter stranger but take heed of what await the sin of greed. For those who take but do not earn must pay most dearly in their turn, so if you seek beneath our floors a treasure that was never yours, their you have been warned beware of finding more than treasure there.

McGonagall gave them a nod in greeting as she came closer and the group behind her followed her lead and gave the creatures a nod as well.

The creatures returned the nods and had an Aggron each open the doors to let them in, as they entered McGonagall briefly explained what the creatures where in a low voice so only the group could hear her.

"These are goblins they are in charge of the bank and its security, they are fierce warriors and exact cruel punishments on those who dare to steal from them." Pointing to the words and letting them know it was more then just a fancy design.

After entering the bank they see high desk on each side of the entrance leading down to the back wall where an even larger desk stood with a goblin behind each desk counting, collecting or packaging money.

Some where looking at precious gems, others were looking of large tomes and more were helping wizards with their business before either handing them a paper or leading them deeper into the building. Before they went to a desk McGonagall pulled Harry aside and reached into her robes pockets before pulling out a small key and handing it to Harry.

"This is the key to your trust vault left to you by your parents, simply go up to one of the goblins and ask them to go to the Potter trust vault to withdraw money for school supplies and then hand the key to them when they ask for it."

Harry nods, but before heading to one he decides to ask his professor about the currency he was about to withdraw. "Professor what is the currency called and what is the proper amount I should need?"

McGonagall looked surprised for a moment before seemingly remembering something and a sad forlorn look enters her eyes.

"The currency has three different coins the small bronze one is called a knut, the medium silver one is called a sickle and it takes twenty nine knuts to equal a sickle, finally the large gold one is called a galleon it takes seventeen sickles to equal a galleon. I would recommend at the least twenty galleons for school supplies and any extra material you may be interested in as we shop."

Harry nods at this and then heads off to a desk with a goblin teller that looked like they where wrapping up business with a wizard.

By the time he got there the wizard and goblin had finished business and the wizard walked away with a small yellow and brown Pokémon with black limbs and eyes flying along behind him.

The goblin teller looked even older then the other goblins had seen so far, long clawed hands gnarled and scarred with age and a hard life. A sharp hooked nose rested above a small mouth with razor sharp teeth, and below a set of eyes pitch black and filled with a cunning and hunger Harry had yet to see in anyone besides his uncle.

Though the Pokémon behind him was much more mesmerizing to Harry then the goblin, it stood on two strong legs with three toes tipped with red claws.

This lead up a slim body to two arms with three claw like finger also in red, going up to its head two blades protruded from the sides of its mouth with a red edge to it.

Golden armor like scale went from the top of its head down its body and arms, along its legs and tail completing the Pokémon's dark colored body. It's deep red eyes stared less at Harry and more at his bonded especially John though Harry felt that it held nothing but contempt for the entire group as a whole.

The goblin seemed to ignore Harry's arrival so he waited there for a few moments waiting to see if it would acknowledge him or if he would have to be rude and get its attention.

What he didn't know was that he had slightly impressed the goblin by his ability and willingness to wait for him even though he didn't hide that he just didn't want to address him immediately.

In a voice that sounded like old dried leather the goblin didn't even look up as it addressed Harry. "What do you require from Gringotts today young wizard."

Harry gulped and then stepped closer to the desk so he could address the goblin with our needing to raise his voice. "Good morning sir, my name is Harry Potter and I require access to the Potter trust vault so that I may get the necessary funds to gather my school supplies."

The goblin was truly surprised not only at the politeness of this child but also that he claimed to be the Boy-Who-Lived.

Leaning over his desk to look down at the young wizard the goblin decided to humor the youngling. "And do you have your key Mr. Potter?"

The goblin was even more surprised when the youngling reached into his pocket and pulled out an official Gringotts vault key. Taking it from the youngling the goblin examined it and found it to be the actual article, so with a wave of his hand he sends the Pokémon that had been behind him to get a guide for the young Potter.

"I have sent my Haxorus bloodied fang to get your guide it will be a moment Mr. Potter."

Harry nods his head and waits for the Haxorus to return letting a comfortable silence fall among them as the goblin returned to the large tome infront of him.

Soon enough a younger yet no less fierce looking goblin appears with the Haxorus leading the way and quickly falling back into its previous position.

"This is Griphook he will take you to your vault Mr. Potter may your riches be ever flowing." The goblin had gesture to the new arrival and then bowed his head towards Harry after he had basically handed him off to the new arrival.

Harry nods back. "Thank you sir and may your vault be ever full." Harry then walked off following the goblin deep in to the depths of Gringotts.
