Chapter 19

Harry and Emma where already at the quidditch pitch and ready for the class to start when the other students started to trickle in, one by one all the other Gryffindors and Slytherins started to show up, with a lot of grumbling about how this was pointless.

One student in particular was especially being loud about how their father would hear about this farce of a class and the uselessness of it.

"After all, what's the point of exercising when magic can make any such advantage pointless."

The small group surrounding the little pounce started to grumble agreement's and nodding when out of no where a log came sailing towards the group huddled together. Not a single one moved, frozen in fear they didn't even try to pull out their wands let alone run from their current spot, luckily the log imbedded itself only a foot away from the group.

Then the sound of heavy foot falls and a dragging sound reach the students ears and all turn to one of the entrances to the quidditch pitch to see a man as tall as the games keeper Hagrid striding onto the pitch.

Behind him was a sled filled to twice his height with logs like the one in-front of the group of Slytherins, in less then a minute the man was in-front of the log and ripped it out of the ground, showing that it had been imbedded up to three feet.

"First rule of any fight, be prepared both physically and mentally."

The group of Slytherins said nothing at first before the blond toe rag regained his confidence and started trying to intimidate the man.

"Do you have any idea who I am, I could have you dismissed for doing such a thing and risking the life of such an important heir."

The giant of a man simple bends down and in a voice that carried to every corner of the pitch says.

"I don't care if your father was the minister for magic, I'm here to do my job, and that includes showing you the reality of having a strong body to help give you a strong mind and stronger magic."

The little blond pounce scoffs and in his best holier then thou voice says.

"Just because you weren't born with strong magic like us purebloods doesn't mean we have to believe that you are at our level by simply doing some muggle exercise."

The man simply chuckles and points at Harry.

"Potter, over here, Malfoy, I want you over there."

Harry had been pointed to a spot about ten feet away from the giant of a man while Malfoy had been pointed to ten feet to the other side of the man.

"Since you want to say you know what is best we'll do a little test, if you win this little duel I'll personally exempt you and all of your friends from the rest of my class, but if you lose, then you will be doing double the work and summer homework."

The smug look that spread across Malfoy's face made Harry's hackles raise along with Emma curling her lips back in a silent snarl, wanting to eviscerate the little flesh bag.

Harry knew about duels between Astartes but not how a wizard duel would work, but he assumed they fell under the same rules, no death blows and no serious maiming. So with a simple flick of his wrist, Harry's wand fell into his hand as Emma went and laid off to the side waiting for her pup to put this weakling in its place.

Malfoy took his own position and like a peacock made a show of pulling his wand out of his pocket and taking a dueling stance that put his wand and foot forward but left his entire torso exposed.

Harry was running through what power he should use that won't kill the idiot on the spot and wouldn't be to impossible to use with his staff in its wand form.

As the man took his spot between the two he finally tells the class his name.

"I professor Belica authorize this duel and will intervene if I feel life or series injure is imminent, otherwise the rules are as follow. No illegal or unforgivable spells, no outside interference, and no excuses if you lose, do both parties agree?"

Both Harry and Malfoy nod their heads but don't take their eyes off their opponent, Harry had finally found an ability that might cause some nerve damage but wouldn't kill the idiot and make him need to use his staff form.

"Then with that I will now begin the match, in three, two, on-"

Before Belica had even finished Malfoy had flicked his wand in the practiced form of a stunning spell, Harry had already seen the twitch of muscles around Malfoy's neck and had already jumped to the side before the spell had even left Malfoy's wand.

"Stupefy!"

Malfoy hadn't even realized that Harry had already moved and that his spell had hit nothing and just sailed into the empty stands.

Before Malfoy could even recover Harry had already started to channel lightning into his wand and had collected it at the tip, as Malfoy fully turned to get Harry back in his sight, Harry finally released the lightning in the shape of a ball right at Malfoy hitting him square in the shoulder.

Immediately Malfoy began to convulse and shake as if he was having a seizure, he fell to the ground and continued to twitch and shake.

Belica was immediately by Malfoy's side and immediately checked him over to make sure he was alive, after a moment he was satisfied he wouldn't die and turned to one of the other Slytherins.

"You, do you know where the infirmary is?"

The boy nodded his head stunned at the rather one sided and quick duel.

"Then pick him up and take him there, get someone to help you if you need it."

With a nod the boy grabbed another kid and they picked up Malfoy and quickly left the pitch, leaving behind a stunned class and a rather amused Belica.

"All the power in the world means nothing if you can't hit a target, and magic is a reflection of your mental and physical health, the better it is the better your magic, the idea that some people are born better because of blood is as false as the idea that the earth is flat."

Belica began walking towards the sled full of logs and the class followed, once he was in front of the sled he grabbed a log placed it next to him.

"When your body is healthy it leads to a healthy mindset, which then leads to a stronger magical core."

Belica pointed at Harry.

"Potter is probably the strongest student here, regardless of year, that means his mind is clear and strong, which means his magic is probably stronger and deeper then most adults."

This lead to the class mumbling and whispering to each other at the blunt way their professor phrased it.

"Did I say you could talk!"

Belica's shout was almost physical with how loud it was, causing all the students to fall silent.

"Better, now I'm going to do something very simple, I'm going to have all of you do a simple physical evaluation."

With that said Belica placed a log infront of each student speaking to them as he did.

"Your first test is to see how strong you are, all you have to do is lift and hold the log for as long as you can, if you can't lift it off the ground completely then just hold one end of it"

Many students looked at him like he was crazy.

"Each log only weighs five stones, most of you should be able to at least pick it up."

The way he said it lit a fire in the eyes of some of the students, making them reach down and start picking up their logs to start the test.

Belica merely nodded and watched as finally the last few students picked up their logs and began to hold them, soon enough almost all the purebloods dropped their logs after only thirty seconds. Next up was some of the half bloods after a minute, as time ticked by the half bloods and muggle born students started to drop their logs, showing that the purebloods had a long way to go to match their peers.

Fianlly after four and a half minutes, the only student left holding their log was Harry, Belica came forward and started directing the other students to the next portion of the test.

"Alright, the second portion of the test is to run as many laps as you can around the pitch, I don't care about speed, just how many you can do."

One student raised her hand after Belica had finished, amused that someone had a questioned he pointed at her.

"And what is your question miss?"

The young girl lowered her hand and moved forward to better be seen.

"Granger professor Belica, I'm just wondering if we shouldn't wait for Harry since he's still holding the log?"

The smirk that spread across Belica's face almost made some of the students back up in fright.

"Oh you don't need to worry about that miss Granger, he will be joining you, he'll just have to go with his log."
