HP Family Magics

Still not mine. Thank you JK for letting us play in your sand box. These characters are just too amazing to leave them trapped in the books and movies for all time. Enjoy the ride.

See Chapter one for the intro and disclaimer.

A/N: This chapter is a little bloody. I tried to not make it to graphic and this is what came out. I hope you like it. It's also short but it's what is needed at this point.

Chapter 2 – Backhanded and Blackened

"I's believe this be good for yous. Stopping Potter sale must only you can do." Dobby said. Griphook nodded agreement.

Harry put the ring on and froze in place. Dobby quickly release his arm and stepped back as magic engulfed the teen. Some of the tendrils of magic wrapped around Dobby and he was held stiffly in place. Harry could feel the magic of the Potters entering him and wrapping around his body and mind. He saw the first Potters making pottery by hand and magic blessed them with magic tools for them to use for their amazing creation. The usage of the tools were explained and demonstrated in his mind. More magic poured in and memories of the Potters through the ages. Harry was quickly overwhelmed and passed out. Dobby caught him and placed him gently back in the chair.

"Now we waits." Dobby announced.

It was only five minutes later that Harry awoke to a concerned Dobby and Griphook. He sat up and looking at the ring on his finger he announced.

"Now we begin."

Harry took up the parchment that Griphook had provided and holding his wand pointed at the ceiling with his head of house ring glowing as he recited the words. "I, Harry James Potter, being the head of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter do hereby fire my current Gringotts account manager for cause. My new account manager will be Griphook from the Hook clan. He is to carry out whatever is required for my family financial betterment and deal with any problem within the Goblin Nation as required by their laws. I further bring charges against Albus Dumbledore for attempted line theft and stealing from an Ancient and Noble House. So Mote it be." A blinding flash from his wand surprised them all none, more so than Griphook.

Griphook put his hand on Harrys arm and recited. "I Griphook, of the Hook clan, to hereby accept the role as the Potter account manager. I and my clan shall fulfill this honored duty to the best of our abilities and if failing as a clan we accept the consequences. Should I not be available or able to fulfill these duties they shall fall on my heirs." Again there was a blinding flash filling the room. It seemed to come from everywhere and then it was gone. The trio rubbed their eyes and muttered each to themselves. A quiet descended on the room as the three looked at each other.

"Very soon there will be some extraordinarily angry goblins arriving. Harry, put your wand away and do not pull it out for any reason. What is about to happen must happen. You and your elf will be safe. Now quickly read and sign the following parchments."

Harry took the parchments and held them so both he and Dobby could read. He found that Dobby could read the pages much faster then he could but neither commented. After reading the four pages Harry took the offered quill and quickly signed each page. After direction from Griphook he placed his ring next to his signature on each page and push a little magic into it. The Potter crest was burned into the page which caused the Goblin and elf to look a little surprised.

As he finished the last page the door to the office crashed off its hinges and fell to the floor in front of the doorway. The occupants jumped and assumed a fighting stance. Harry remembered not to draw his wand but that didn't mean he would not defend himself. Dobby was beside him as ready to fight as he was. Looking to Griphook Harry realized the Goblin was wearing full battle gear with a double edged axe in hand. Armor was covering him from his head to his feet and his axes double pointed end was directed to the group entering the room. They were also in full battle dress and looking for blood.

"What are you doing in my office?" screamed the lead Goblin also wielding a double edged axe.

"No longer your office and you know it." Griphook snarled. "For theft and attempted theft of a clients monies and property I, Griphook of the Hook clan, have relieved you of your account."

"You have no right." The other Goblin started.

"But I do." Harry spoke up loud enough to be heard over the bickering Goblins. "I have removed you for the thefts of my families money and for the attempted wrongful sale of the Potter heirlooms."

The shocked look on all of the entering Goblins faces was enough to tell Harry that this was a major crime in there world. That shock was all the time Griphook needed to drive forward stabbing his axe into the other Goblins neck and with a vicious twist removed his head. It all seemed to happen in slow motion as the head dropped to the floor with his body following soon after. The four behind him watched in horror knowing that their fate was sealed. They had followed the account manager knowing full well that if discovered they would meet the same fate. They had been assured by both the now headless account manager and the headmaster that this day would never come.

Knowing their fate and that if they didn't comply immediately their clans would be held accountable they dropped their weapons, removed their helmets and knelt with heads bowed.

Harry was still in shock as Griphook approached the four Goblins. "You are all guilty and you know it. Were any others in your clans involved?" Harry could hear malice in the words Griphook spoke.

"Our clan members remain ignorant of our failures and we beg you only take what is required from us." They all spoke as one.

Dobby spoke "Griphook. Others sound like this rehearsed. Same theys all say."

Griphook looked at Dobby and returned his gaze to the other Goblins. It was at this moment when an old Goblin entered the room and Griphook, along with the other Goblins, dropped to one knee and bowed. The old Goblin quickly surveyed the room and assessed the situation. He also took a moment to wave his hand and pulled strands of multicolored ribbons, what must have been magic, from the air.

"Griphook, Please introduce me to our new Lord." Ragnok said looking at Griphook.

"Ragnok the fifth may I introduce you to Lord Harry James Potter of the most Ancient and Noble house of Potter and his trusted advisor and house elf Dobby." He waved towards where Harry and Dobby were standing poised for battle. They both straightened up.

"Hello Mr. Ragnok. I apologize I do not know how to address you properly as to not offend. I will learn before our next encounter." Harry said as Dobby bowed and pulled on Harrys robe. Harry understood and bowed as low as Dobby. Dobby signaled that he should rise and then Dobby did.

A moment later Ragnok did what no one in the room ever thought could happen. He laughed. He laughed so hard he had to put his hand on a chair. Harry was quick to pull a chair out for him to sit and that only caused another round of laughter. It was infectious and Harry chuckled a little too.

"My apologies. That was not the most dignified reply to your introduction. But watching your elf quietly signal you and you actually following his lead was priceless. I have never met a wizard that would listen to a house elf let alone allow them to direct them." Ragnok said still chuckling. Seeing the look on Harrys face he continued. "Don't get me wrong. Your house elf, Dobby was it?" Harry nodded. "Was perfectly correct, except you were not expected to bow so deeply. It was no offense by a long shot, just that I should have bowed more deeply than you."

Surprised Harry looked stunned then Dobby nudged Harry in the leg again. "Thank you Mr Ragnok. I've found that I am lacking in my knowledge of many things and I am trusting that Dobby" he motioned to Dobby "and now Griphook will help fill in my short comings."

"It would seem you have chosen well Lord Potter." Turning to Griphook "Judging by the magic and the headless former account manager there is a story I need to hear." Griphook was about to begin when Ragnok held up his hand. "This is an internal Gringotts business so we will deal with it when you have completed your meeting with your client."

Turning back to Harry Ragnok held out his hand. "I believe the muggles do this at the beginning and closing of a business meeting." They shook hands and Harry noted that while he looked old his grip was solid.

"Yes, You are right Mr. Ragnok. It was a pleasure meeting you." Harry said.

"And I you. In the future please just call me Ragnok. My close business relations and friends call me that."

"Then please call me Harry." Harry replied.

Ragnok departed with the four goblins being flanked by the Goblin guard that had arrived with Ragnok and the body was draped and floated out. All of the Goblin bowed to Harry, Griphook, and Dobby to Dobbys and everyone surprise. Then there was silence.

"Well" started Griphook "That went better than anticipated. Had Ragnok not arrived I would have been required to deal with the other four." Turning to Dobby. "You said their response sounded rehearsed. What do you mean? That is if Lord Potter is ok with you answering that question." Looking at Harry for confirmation. Harry nodded to Dobby.

"Its remind me of old bad master. Hes practiced words in mirror so he deliver when needed. Never he meant but what others wanted to hear." Dobby explained. Both Harry and Griphook nodded in understanding.

Griphook went behind the desk and wrote a quick note on a piece of parchment and put it in the out box on his desk. It vanished as soon as it landed. "I passed that on to chief Ragnok to consider. On to other business. We have stopped the sale of Potter heirlooms. We need to stop the bleeding of your accounts next."

Harry kind of slumped into the chair at the conference table. His energy had mostly faded with all the activity and receiving the Potter family ring and the burst of Potter family magics. Plus he didn't sleep with his nightmares from last night or was it this morning. He tried to put up a strong front but Dobby could see and feel the reality. Now that he was bonded to Harry he could feel the young wizards health.

"Griphook" Dobby began "Master Harry needs pepper up or rest. What needs be now and what cans wait." Dobby took over for Harry who was about to put his head on the table. Griphook looked at the young wizard. Not yet fifteen and all of this happening to him. He nodded in agreement.

"I can send for a potion or we can do the minimum and complete the rest tomorrow. What would you prefer Lord Potter?" Griphook asked. Harry looked from Griphook to Dobby and in his foggy state he couldn't decide.

"Dobby. I can't really think straight right now. Can you two do what is necessary and we can meet again tomorrow if needed?" Harry asked. Dobbys eyes opened wide as did Griphooks. Never had a wizard asked a house elf and a Goblin to manage their finances.

"I takes you home and I bes back jiffy like." He said to Harry and Griphook who both nodded.

In a snap Harry was back at Privet Dr and put in bed. Dobby silenced the room and warded it against those nasty muggles and everything else he could think of.

Back in the Goblins office Dobby and Griphook got to work. They would stop the bleeding of the accounts now. They had stopped the auction of the Potter heirlooms that had been scheduled. That would not be public knowledge so they had a little breathing room.

"The monthly payments from the Potter accounts should be dealt with next." Griphook said as he handed the parchments to Dobby. He looked them over and scowling until he realized the Goblin was planning on retrieving one hundred and thirty percent of the value taken. Harry would get the full amount taken plus twenty percent. Ten percent was for the Goblins work involved. Dobby thought that would be acceptable to Master Harry. If Harry didn't approve the payments there would be some very unhappy wizards next week. Expecting to get a payment only to find their vaults were missing the full amount that had been stolen.

Dobby stopped at one of the names on the list. He looked over the list again and frowned.

"These not make Master Harry happy. These names." Dobby pointed to the names in question on the list. "These be correct?"

Griphook nodded. "I have checked the list several times over. The withdrawals on the list were all setup by Dumbledore and I don't see how these could be in the best interest of Lord Potter." Dobby nodded and knew this would be hard for Master Harry to hear but he must.

"Anything else can wait until we meet with Lord Potter tomorrow or even the next day." Griphook said.

Dobby nodded. "I bes thinking. Is there any Potter family heirlooms that help master Harry? I knows

The Potters be old and powerful."

"I'm glad you asked. He produced a small box and a large old book and set them on the table. Here is the family grimoire and some family items that only Harry would be able to use. The former junior account manager hid them from the previous account manager." Griphook smiled the scary Goblin smile that said he was ready for another battle. Dobby took the box and returned the smile.

As he held the small box Dobby could feel the Potter magic imbued in the objects and because he was bonded to the Potter lord he knew what was in the box and nodded approval.

"I bes sure master Harry gets these when he wakes." With that Dobby popped back to Privet Drive and waited next to Harry. Smiling as he transfigured the old desk chair into a rocker he rocked himself in the chair in his vigilance to protect his master. Dobby did smile to himself quietly as the fat muggle and the long neck one pounded on the door and failed to break it down. He would deal with them later.
